Unlocking help

Sorry if I am in the wrong sub forum but I googled my problem and it brought me here. I need to get a HTC dual touch unlocked and I am willing to pay, would prefer free but beggers cant be choosers. One guy in a thread i read from over a year ago linked to imei uk or some site but when I put my imei in it said it was invalid.
I am not sure exactly on the make and model i have as this is the first time i have gotten this phone, bought it off a friend and googled it to see what it was haha.

Bootloader bounty

Hey all! There's a bootloader bounty in the tmobile S7 edge(935T) general discussion forum. If it gets unlocked in sure that would include the 930T. Pledge to Donate if you got it!
?
I pledge $10 via PayPal
Nice! I pledged 50
I'll pledge money. How are we going about doing this? Have to make sure we don't create a pot and someone runs off with it lol
Just go to the tmobile S7 edge forum and pledge. You don't give any loots until YOUR bootloader is unlocked. I pledged strictly for an unlocked bootloader for my tmobile S7.
Who ever unlocks the bootloader I'm sure will be posting a PayPal account to send the loots to.

ATT is in progress as they crack it T Mobile will be the same :highfive:
My understanding is that if one of the qualcomm variants (S7 or S7 Edge from Att, Sprint, Tmobile, etc) gets cracked they should all be the same (or at least extremely similar).
Like demonith said...Have a look at the bounty thread over at Att S7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/bounty-att-s7-root-exploit-t3341274/page25
Looks like they are almost there!!!!!!
I guess in next week we getting root 100%
Can the bootloader only be unlocked by Samsung them self or is it possible for a developer to figure how to unlock the bootloader? Thanks
I waiting for that in loong time hoping for good answer

Unlock T-mo S7 edge bought from samsung.com

Hello, I bought my S7 edge (T-mobile locked) from Samsung.com assuming I will be able to unlock it via the T-Mobile Unlock App. Now I have tried everything but T-mobile does not recognize this device as their own and unable to unlock it since they can't find my the IMEI in their database. Samsung is unwilling to help and won't take the device back. I tried 3rd party unlock services and they are unable to unlock it citing the same issue (not in T-mo database).
Now I'm stuck with this locked device with network issues reported in other threads.
Does anyone know any other method to unlock this device?
Thanks for your help.
Can u return it to samsung?
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Since it is out of return period Samsung is not willing to take it back.

OK stupid question here... but
Are you sure it is locked to T-Mobile, not just running the T-Mobile firmware?

It's been a month of going through the same thing with Samsung. Never call or email back, always create a ticket and do nothing with it. Escalate to executive customer relations, and nothing happens. Yesterday, I had enough after being told that they won't unlock it and won't replace it with an unlocked phone. You should sell it, because you aren't going to get it unlocked.
I did report them to T-Mobile, because this is happening to more people than just us.
Sorry, it's a dead horse.

I used the "Device Unlock" app that was already on the phone. It told me with Marshmallow I was permanently unlocked, but now it's failing with 7.0 Nougat Beta?? Apparently it wasn't permanent?
yes, I tried using other SIM cards and got some SIM locked error.

T-mobile is not able to help since we bought it from samsung.com. There is some disconnect between Samsung and T-mobile. If T-mobile won't accept it as a "T-mobile phone" then it is a fake to me. Samsung shouldn't be selling it.

This kind of thing happened with the LG V10, and someone found a T-Mobile rep who was sympathetic and was able to add people's IMEI to the database for unlock. The thread is in the T-Mobile V10 forums regarding unlocking. I will link it up if i find it. I think this would be the only hope to unlock such phones for free. A paid service could also work i think.

Will this new root help me unlock my weird t-mobile GS7 edge?

Hey guys,
i got this legit t-mo gs7e which came for free through this promotional agency. it is clearly branded as t-mobile and only works with t-mobile US sim card, but t-mo hotline keeps saying it is not a t-mobile phone. longer description in this thread which i accidentally posted in the GS7normal section: (i asked for the thread to be moved over here to avoid double post but nothing happened)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s7/help/unlockable-t-mobile-s7-edge-t3572986
will this new root help me making any use of this phone or do i have to just buy a new one? i been on the hotlines for about 3 weeks now and about to give up and just try to sell it and buy something else, so you people are really my last resort.
also willing to tip if someone can guide me through the process.
definately a legit, not-blocked, paid-off phone, just nobody can remove the sim-lock and i need to use it both in foreign countries and on diff networks in the US.
thanks in advance,
b

I don't think there is any hack or anything to sim unlock the phone. I believe it hinges on getting your imei into the tmo database, or using a paid service. Check this post and maybe try and contact that TMobile rep: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/general/unlocking-sim-tmobile-t3241032/post65795953
It will not help you unlock the sim lock.
I have been watching your comments since your firdt post about yiur phone and i hate to say it but i think you are going to have to use a pay service.
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA Premium HD app
thanks guys, pretty sure a paid service won't be able to unlock it, that thread yrrch mentioned also has a couple people in it w similar phones where the paid ones didn't help.. but i'll def try call that higher level t-mo rep that is mentioned in there. it is one of these "partner purchase" programs i believe.
edit: matter of fact i reached out to unlockradar.com couple days ago, they can't unlock it either.

Yeah, I guess a paid service requires that your phone be registered in the carrier's database. Then if the unlock app doesn't work, you could choose to pay. So hopefully you can reach that woman and have her help! Good luck and keep us posted
OK, so I have a question. I'm Trying to move from t-mobile to Verizon but I'm trying to keep my same phone. So no matter what I do im better off getting a new phone?
To unlock that device you'll need to find a store that has the equipment to do it. There are boxes out there that unlock immediately through a connected cable.

The models that have unlock device apps can only be unlocked (Tmobile metropcs possibly others?) will have to be unlocked thru the app (AFAIK) other models (certain models, which vary accordingly) can be unlocked instantly thru cable.
Now, is it "impossible to hack"? I dunno? I don't think anything is impossible to hack.... (don't read into that, I'm not saying it's been done, I'm merely making a statement that's all)
Sent from my Rooted Galaxy S7 EDGE on Android 7.0 Nougat, here's the instructions how to do it!
I believe the device was purchased from Samsung.com and only those devices are not recognized by T-Mobile unlock app.. I heard that you've to call T-Mobile business support instead of technical support for this issue.. I had the same wth an S7 and was discussing in S7 forums

could you recommend reliable sim unlock service for T-Mobile oneplus 6t?

Purchased mine on OfferUp. Was told paid off but two months later when I requested unlock from T-Mobile, Rep told me there is still balance on it. Could anyone recommend a reliable and safe unlock service for the T-Mobile 6t?
I already talked to TMobile on T-Mobile app and Tweeter for weeks. They only asked me to find the original seller....
I just wanted to get it sim unlocked... please help.
You could pm me if posting other websites is against xda rule... Much appreciate.

It seems to me your phone has been blacklist by Tmo for an unpaid account so I dont think any of the sim unlock services can do anything about it. Is your phone working with Tmo network now?

Correct, just to convert the TMO 6T variant to OOS without the required sim/bootloader unlock first, the normal way!

It will if you don't pay off the balance and I'm surprised that TMO has it activated with an unpaid balance!

Well, the balance is not on my account, I can't do anything about it. T-Mobile don't even want me to pay it off since I don't know whose account it was belong to
My main carrier is ATT. I wish I could use the rebranding method to get it sim unlock but I guess I am out of luck
As long as the balance is not paid off, you don't own the phone, T-mobile does. If and when the original owner stops paying it, you're screwed. Btw, T-mobile has a tool to check the IMEI and balance status: https://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx
I think you got scammed.

I met the seller at the T-Mobile store to check the IMEI when I purchased it. I am aware of the IMEI website.
Thank you for letting me know again that I am screwed, like T-Mobile has told me so.
Now, who knows a real solution for a paid unlock service?

In the thread for converting a T-Mobile to International. Someone used cellunlocker and said it worked, here is the post. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78691393&postcount=645
He made a couple of post after that one answering questions about the service.

Unfortunately I got scammed (I'll tell you at the end why lol) as well. I knew the phone had a balanced on it because it was my cousins and he assured me he would pay it off. He was just a little tight with money right now so I went for it. I knew I couldn't get it unlocked since it had a balanced owed. There's a thread on here to sim unlock. Wasn't very difficult to do but you have to convert it to international rom first just like the previous post said. It took me less than 30 minutes to do it. After 8 months ..Welp, he didn't pay it off! The guy totally changed his number and blocked me on social media which I thought was funny. Moral of the story **** happens and never assume they will pay it off.
