A little background first:
I just had to replace my Pixel 2 XL with the Google Store under warranty for an issue with the USB port recently failing(seems to be a common fault). A phone that was otherwise perfect unfortunately.
I can honestly say that I'm a little disappointed in my replacement, maybe even a little cheated by Google as my original device was manufactured on November 02, 2017 while the replacement they sent is an older one manufactured on September 30, 2017. More importantly, I found the replacement device's display to be not as good. While the amount of visible blue shift when tilting off axis may be similar, my original had a much warmer overall tone to it. The new one is on the cool side resulting in poor color accuracy. For an example magentas look purple, whites look blue on it in a side by side comparison.
Anyways I was wondering what manufacturing dates others with recent RMA replacements from Google are seeing?
You can check your manufacture date using a IMEI checker tool such as http://www.imeipro.info/check_lg.html or https://sndeep.info/en
Bought mine in march from Best buy for 300.
It got screen burn. they sent a replacement;
Product model: G011C
Manufacture date: July 03, 2019
Shipped from factory: July 04, 2019
I sent a verizon that was OEM locked..
This one is verizon also, but unlockable.

How'd you get such a late manufacturing date? Jesus...yeah mine have all been September or November, it sucks big time. I've done four rmas and about to do my 5th. I am going to make sure it is completely without issues and then I'll leave (it's a walk in store)
I recently went through 3 RMA replacements on my Pixel 2 XL. My original Pixel 2 XL was from October 2017, which is around when I bought it.
Replacement 1: Built 2019 March - had 2 hairline cracks in the screen so I got them to replace it. Otherwise a gorgeous device.
Replacement 2: Built 2017 November - had a bad color shift & greenish tint to the screen so I got them to replace it.
Replacement 3: Built 2019 February - not quite as nice of a screen as the 2019 March built device, but overall a pretty good replacement and better screen that the original I had.
Fingers crossed I don't have to go through that process again. Took about 1 month with all the back-and-forth shipments.

All my RMA's have been September or October, and I've done about 5 of them. The issues I've had Google says they are a manfacturing issue (not sure if that's the standard response they like to say) but if that's the case...why are they allowed to RMA devices with well known issues battery/screen/speakers from that time frame?

I don't no. I sent it in when told. The day they received it, I received a shipping label from a different state. Got the phone two days later. I wasn't all that happy cause they gave me the IMEI in the email. It said:
Your Verizon phone replacement Imei #### is on its way.
So I was thinking locked bootloader. But its manufacture date is newer then what i sent and its unlocked. Googles is the besteseses.

Luuuuuuucky mate
My initial device was manufactured at the end of October.
Bought it around 2017 December and just recently got it replaced because the power button became faulty.
My replacement:
Product model: G011C
Manufacture date: January 11, 2018
Shipped from factory: January 12, 2018
Muuuuuuch better screen, a lot clearer speakers (no rattle or distortion anymore). Dunno why I kept my first device for so long even, the sound that came out of it was upright horrible compared to my current one.
However, the replacement device has dead pixels in the bottom corner of the screen. Waiting for Google specialist to contact me now about the replacement for my replacement.
Man I haven't even had a chance to speak with Google about my replacement. Work has been crazy lately. Besides the display issue, I discovered a very minor cosmetic defect with the top speaker grill. Part of is slightly creased from when they obviously glued it in. Even still I'm somewhat afraid to do another RMA for fear I'll get back something worse lol
* edit new replacement device on the way. Will report back manufacture date shortly.
Well interesting development after I kind of had to fight with Google Support a bit to get another replacement device the other day, the data functionality including headphone adapter part broke on my current replacement tonight
After early returns + 2 RMAs now it looks like I'll be on my 4th Pixel 2 XL device.

I have heard too much horror stories of exchanges still being defective. I bought mine from Gamestop in Mid July and waiting for the 2nd shipment which should come in at the end of the week. Do you think think there will be any differences with the second shipment?
any idea on when the second shipment/wave?
i am on my second nexus7 and im sending it back again with touch screen issues,
I've seen people with tablets made in august still having the same issues. I'll be giving it another shot tomorrow seeing as my local Walmart got some fresh ones in. I have my fingers crossed.

I'm on my sixth device within the last month. I've had dead pixels, screen lift, faulty gyroscope, light bleed, bad speakers! So far haven't found any problems, but there's still time yet.

Just had another update from Handtec which states that shipments they were expecting haven't arrived and all orders will be delayed. I've ordered the black version so aren't expecting to see it until May now, but honestly I'm not that concerned because I'm guessing the reason for the delays are HTC are modifying their QC / MFG processes to overcome the minor issues noted by some early adopters here:
- Bulging plastic
- Small gaps in the gapless construction
- Light leakage
- Stuck pixels (unlikely to be simply QC)
Of course armchair commentators like ourselves can always make assumptions and guesses but it would be logical.

Hopeful wishing, but in all honesty it is probably more that HTC got more preorders then expected so these other guys (expansys/Handtec/etc) aren't going to see their next batch until later than expected.
well my handset was purchased from phones4u, after my second exchange due to build issues and other things i asked for another. Head office was dealing with the issue and advised me that they no longer had stock of either colour and did not know when they would be getting more...maybe the quality control issues are being addressed?
We can but hope...trouble is its just going to drive buyers over to the s4 thats due in a couple of weeks
I got 2nd one from p4u on Tuesday and its got few very tiny white stuck pixel and one major &easy to visible white stuck pixel, some rough surface, avoidable tiny gap and misalign charger port

Handtec provide you info only for the black one or for the silver one as well? Do they expect delays in Silver shipments as well?
PS. Maybe the delay has to do with the USA release and not with the quality issues?

Well the delays won't be down to highstreet sales. In my town the 3 store is advertising S4 (pre order) and some other ****e all over their store front.
P4U have the front of the store plastered with cheap S3 offers, crapple and blackbury with the One placard hidden away in a side alley only used to get to some company account or something along those lines.
Needless to say I was disgusted.

My retailer P4u said they have no stock now and next stock will arrive on 23rd I hope wait is worth this time & hope longer it takes for better finishing,
Any batch/serial no. that confirm guaranteed to worry free and flawless or improved production imperfection? has anyone reported yet?
I would say hopefully they fixed the QC. But the delays will continue as the roll it out to other countries. Launches in aus on the 23rd
I'm sure its no surprise, but just wanted to post my experience as an FYI.
I filed an RMA on 12/2 (my screen has a small row of dead pixels)
I have yet to get any shipping info as to my replacement , even though their policy is within 4 biz days.
I've escalated my case several times, and all they tell me is, "We don't have any of these devices"
Strange that they didn't keep a few behind for defect replacements, oh well.
Why do they never make enough Nexus's on launch?
same issue. i waited over a week (9 days) b4 ot was overnighted via fedex

It would be helpful if you mentioned who you purchased from/RMA'ed with.
And you can thank people who frivilously exchange devices because there was dust in the box when they unsealed the box, or a fingerprint on the screen
I purchased and filed RMA though Motorola.
I would hope that Google Play support would be better, but who knows.

I would think that it would be better with Motorola, since they make the product and ship right from the factory. You could literally end up with a device that rolled off the assembly line within hours before.

Did Moto keep a pending charge on your cc that whole time? I filed an RMA with them yesterday because of a large strip of fading on my screen, and they pended a charge to my cc instantly but that was the last contact I had with them.
If you have pending charge then you did the advanced RMA. I did that the night of the 16th around 9, it shipped out today and will be here Monday. So it's only going to take 4 business days from when I placed RMA to receiving a replacement. Once they receive my device the hold of $557 will be off. I purchased mine directly from Motorola's website.
What version of the device you got may also affect the turn around. Mine was a 32GB CW
Also just FYI you technically won't be getting brand new devices. They are in Like New condition.
Just filed an RMA this evening with GPS. Expected to to leave warehouse on the 23rd with overnight shipping. We will see if it arrives on Christmas eve. Seemed easy enough with one quick call and a follow up e-mail. I'm assuming my pending charge will arrive once the device ships. Keep you updated when I receive tracking.
I didn't have a problem exchanging a blue 32gb nexus 6 under warranty with Google Play store. Received in two days after the phone call.

I did do an advanced RMA. I ordered from Moto and I bought a 64GB Blue. I was assured that my device would be brand new unopened, non refurbished.
The only reason I purchased from GPS is cause of the warranty and RMA...Google always sets aside units for RMA even my zen watch that showed OOS on play store that I rmaed got shipped a new replacement within a day.
Shattered my preoder N6 in Japan with an unfortunate drop. Assurian warranty services via ATT just replaced it in less than 24 hours. N6, 32gb, blue.
Well.. my camera started doing double exposures -either focus or optical stabilization is wonky, started getting bad around dec 18, and it has gotten worse since then. Clearly a hardware issue, after wiping/resetting- and some really funny pictures sent to Motorola. Their level 2 support was very reasonable, and I finally setup rma for advanced replacement on 30-dec.. and 7-jan I have not heard back yet. We'll see how long it takes. I'm hoping it is not too much longer.
I originally ordered a 32 gb Midnight blue direct from motorola on 12-Nov, received on 25-Nov, then RMAed with Motorola directly on 30-Dec.
We'll see how long it takes....
With Motorola selling a Moto X Pro that is basically the Nexus 6 I could see the replacements being delayed.
On December 2nd I purchase MotoCare for my Nexus 6, since then.
December 5th - I put in an RMA for a bad screen and told it would ship in 3 days.
December 9th - I call them having received no info from them or Fedex on a shipment. I am told it will arrive the 12th.
December 12th - I call again as there is no new word, I am told a person will call me back in 24-48 hours. 4hrs later I get a shipment notification, but no one ever called.
December 15th - Phone arrives, it is for AT&T I specified T-Mobile many times.
December 15-16th - Many calls to Moto to get this sorted. I was told it would be 2 weeks to get it shipped due to 0 in stock and then later another rep says they can ship next day due to 500 in stock. Told I would get shipping info and a call back in 24-48 hours. I also had 2 reps hang up on me while I was explaining the story.
None of this happens, I rant in a thread and Moto_Wendy_W helps get the ball rolling, and in under 48 hours I have had a call, and shipment info for a phone 2 days out. Finally.
December 19th, Phone arrives, due to weekend I get returns sent out with Fedex labels provided on the 22nd. Should arrive on the 26th (due to holiday).
January 1st I am notified the devices were never returned and I will be charged. I check with Fedex and they show no delivery after the 26th and no update since. I call Moto and they call Fedex and verify it was returned the 29th, so now I have to watch my card to see if it is charged or not.
During all of this:
December 26th - while Moto Store had stock I ordered a 64GB White for my brother's birthday, Est Delivery the 6th, his birthday is on the 8th. Perfect. Moto charged my card for the full amount that day.
December 28th - Told there is a hold and to call them. The hold is due to "to many recent orders, which is ONLY the Moto Care I ordered on the 2nd of December. It will take 24-48 hours to review.
December 31st I email asking status - Still waiting for decision on it
January 2nd I am told on the phone it was approved and I should get tracking shortly.
January 3rd I am emailed and told that it has been approved but it is out of stock and I have to wait for new stock.
At this point there is no way I will get the device by the 6th, and I have NO idea when they will get more stock and they have had my money since the 26th of December.
Motorola is the WORST company with the WORST support I have EVER dealt with and having worked in IT for over 12 years I have dealt with a LOT of companies.
They NEVER call you back when they say they will, and they NEVER do ANYTHING to actually do their job properly unless someone lights a fire under their ass.
I am done with them as a company. At this point I actually feel pissed that I own one of their products even. I am debating selling the phone i do have for an LG G3. At least LG has never ****ed me over for 30+ days straight.
EDIT: Yesterday I was told that it was just a hold up with Fedex and I would get a call back by 4PM to confirm any updates.
Today after receiving no call back I am told the phone is out of stock with no ETA. I have canceled the order. I will not be buying anymore phones from Motorola after this experience. I am also fighting being charged $530 for an RMA I returned.
? ?
I have seen more complaint about moto customer service than the phone itself. Seems google really dropped the ball on this partnership with a bad company.
Should keep an eye out for sure, seen two incident like this where moto "never receives" the phone and the people got charged anyway! Had to fight with their banks to get it sorted!
My experience with Motorola was very pleasant.
Dec 16th - Advanced RMA Created
Dec 21st - Received Replacement Device
Dec 26th - Return shipped defective unit
Jan 2nd - Signed and Delivered at Motorola
They give you a tracking number on the return label. It's also found if you go to Motorola contact us and put in your RMA #.
I'm sorry, but, I felt the need to jump into this as well...
I purchased a Moto360 from Motorola, and when I received it, it wouldn't charge... so, Motorola sent me the replacement with the prepaid envelope, I shipped the original out 4 days later. Living in Alaska, they only pay for the cheapest/slowest shipping, so, it made it back 2 days after they were expecting it. It took me 6 phone calls, 2 managers, and 3 weeks for them to refund my money they charged me AFTER they sent me the email stating the watch arrived and they had it in their possession. It was, by FAR, the worst experience I've ever dealt with, and a part of me wanted to give up on the Nexus 6 in fear if something went wrong, it'd be a repeat experience.

Actually Moto Mobility (the Motorola cellphone division) was once a good company that GOOGLE itself acquired and owned. Then they gutted it for the patents corporate raider style and sold it for a loss to Lenovo. Welcome to Lenovo customer service.
Brilliant bit that.
I'm going on two weeks now that they have received my phone waiting on a replacement. I usually do advanced replacement but was told when I setup the RMA that everything shouldn't take more then a week. Now I get the run around that they have no stock and at one point the RMA got closed for some reason.

Was your original faulty phone an AT&T phone? I believe they match up the IMEI and send out accordingly. I had a bad AT&T one with the IMEI reflecting such and got a replacement one with the AT&T tramp stamp. I requested a non AT&T one but that did not work. Just curious what your experience was.
Thanks!

I believe that color and capacity do play a factor because mine was 32GB CW.
Not sure where to post this as I'm still getting my feet on XDA. Sorry for any wrongdoing.
Last Saturday I was playing with my Nexus 6 (Got it on the Thursday) and ended up trying to flash a new ROM, LiquidSmooth I believe. I followed all of the procedure etc, however it unfortunately hard bricked the device.
Obviously, with a two day old phone, this wasn't ideal. I contacted the person I bought the phone from and got the receipt and then immediately phoned Motorola. A friendly chap agreed that this shouldn't have happened and said they'd happily take it in for repair, an hour later I received a confirmation email.
I followed the instructions in the email and sent off the phone well padded last Monday, two days after bricking it. I expected the worst, assuming the warranty had been voided and expecting to pay for the repair, so included necessary contact details etc.
The phone arrived on the Tuesday and initially showed the status 'Out of Warranty'. I phoned SBE to confirm and ask about charges etc, however I was then told that this was just the default status and that I shouldn't worry.
The statuses quickly changed over the following days until it, on Thursday evening, showed 'Electrical fault: Unit replaced'. The phone was quickly dispatched yesterday morning and arrived promptly this morning. A brand new, flawless and fully working Nexus 6.
I honestly couldn't be any happier with SBE Ltd's service. With a turnaround time of a mere 5 days including shipping to/from, I can't help but write this with only the highest recommendations!
I used to work for them. Based in Ashford Kent.

Any tips for dealing with them?
I've just sent my Nexus 6 back for warranty repairs (screen burn-in), and they claim that my warranty expired on 3rd December 2015 but I didn't contact them until 7th December 2015, so (for the sake of 4 days) they want to charge me £120 to fix or £15 just to return my phone to me.
Unfortunately I can't find my original paperwork, but I'm sure that I bought the phone in January 2015. I didn't think that 64Gb models were even available for sale in the UK on December 3rd 2014, so I don't know where that dates comes from.
I'm not a happy bunny.

I got one of the first batches of 64gb stock via Carphone Warehouse. It was delivered to me on 8th Dec.
