[Q] Quality of Front Facing Camera

Just recently my front facing camera has gotten really bad and I do not know why. I am going to include two pictures I have taken. The first one is a perfectly normal picture and the second one is crappy as hell, blurry as can be and looks like a webcam from the 90s.
Both pictures quality is 1900x1080 just the quality is drastically different. I recently updated to 4.3 and right after that the quality of the camera was the same as the first picture... hours later I took a picture and its quality mimics that of the second one. Any ideas? It isn't focusing, obviously I'm not zooming. I don't know what the problem is.
Does anyone have the .apk for the camera i could possibly re-install??
Also here is a test i just did. I took a picture with snapchat and I saved the image, this picture is #3.
I then went into the Camera and took a picture again and this is its quality, blurry.
I am definitely starting to think that the camera is bugged.
I have noticed that noise removal kicks in on mine when taken in dim light. The ISO on the front camera is high and I find the pictures are noisy unless taken in bright light and noise removal is only applied if the light is dim enough. The 3rd picture looks quite a bit noisy and it looks like the automatic noise removal was applied to picture 2 and 4.

I have exactly the same problem with the blurred effect. Did you find the solution?

Really? No one has a Note 4 that takes grainy pictures with the front camera?

We do, but it's expected. It's the front camera. The sensor is small, and obviously it will be worse than the back camera.
Also check that you don't have the selfie filter set too high... in selfie mode, it is automatically enabled and it blurs your face etc... it works for me and my wrinkles.. LOL
lol
I have the beauty shot down to 0 and this still happens. And compared to a Note 10.1 for example, the pictures are horrible. I am not comparing it to the back camera!

Reverse camera video is very zoomed in. Can i zoom out?

My reverse camera video image seems to be very zoomed in with my MTCD unit. Does anyone know how to zoom out?
Maybe it is the camera that makes this zoom, i don't know.
Its the camera. What you need is a very wide angle "fisheye" lens camera. A typical dashcam is a fairly narrow view designed to just grab a person's face and neck.
Thanks bud!

Check if lens if fitted properly (not covering any sensor) and the quality of lens itself(plastic or glass). Try other camera with different settings and see if it is still there.
Mostly issue would be of lens itslef.

Why is my front camera zoomed in when recording a video?

Dear people from XDA,
My front facing camera records video's heavily zoomed in. Like my face fills the whole screen. This is while using the default camera app.
I do not have this problem when taking a picture with my front facing camera.
I have seen problems with snapchat and instagram, but I also have it with the default camera.
OnePlus support says i gotta clear cache, but that doesnt work. Now they tell me to do a factory reset.
I got the latest software update for the Oneplus 6T.
Any of you have this problem?
Edit: i cant post links so you can paste this screenshot in your browser with https:// in front of it. nl.tinypic.com/r/av0enk/9
Its probably to do with image stabilisation, it crops out the edges as that gives room to adjust for shaking. I could be wrong, but thats something I did for a dummy project before, I think its a pretty common practice thing

Like he said.. When it's in video mode, it appears to be zoomed in because it's cropping the edges as part of the electronic stabilization.*
I'm not a hundred percent certain on that being the explanation but I am pretty confident. That's just the way it works and I just open the app to be sure and there is no way to turn off this stabilization
I don't think it's as much about image stabilization as just aspect ratio. If you go into the selfie picture camera and change the aspect ratio from 4:3 to full screen, the image will be similarly zoomed in. As I understand it, the camera sensors are 4:3. To get 16:9 or 13:6 full screen images, it just basically crops the 4:3 image and stretches or zooms it to fit the desired size. Just like when you take an older 4:3 SD tv show and zoom to fill a widescreen tv.
I'm just speculating though, so I may be off base, but it makes sense. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
It is the electronic image stabilization. It crops the recorded area to leave room for the frame to move around, so that it can compensate for movement.
