My wife dropped her Sprint Galaxy S7 and broke the digitizer. I bought a refurb Sprint S7 from ebay, and I'm thinking about swapping the motherboard from the broken phone to the refurb unit, so I won't have to try to recover and move everything from one phone to the other. Will this work? Thanks for any advice.

I have a unit that a co-worker dropped 8 months ago and I had it looked at, the chip was knocked loose from the motherboard. I am trying to find a broken unit cheap to replace the board. Not even sure this is worth doing unless I can find one under $100 since I can just buy a used one
Any thoughts?
Just search through the hermes thread ive seen people looking to sell phones for parts. Here is a quick one i found try sending a PM to these guys for help

Not sure if anyone has experience this before. I bought a brand new unit from Negri Electronics. I put my current Sim, from old Galaxy Tab 7, in the new 7.7 and it doesn't recognized it. Later i tried to put my friend's T-mobile Sim and same result. Maybe I am the lucky one, getting a lemon???
I've already start the RMA process, hopefully they can send me a working unit soon.
Has anyone dealing with Negri Electronics before? How do they usually handle this kind of situation? do they send out refurblished unit or brand new?
Thanks

Have you tried referring back to your operator and replacing your sim with a new one.
This was my case and a new sim solved the problem.
Try rebooting after inserting the sim.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using XDA Premium HD app
Yes, tried new sim for carrier but no luck.
Turn out it was a defected unit. Got the replacement today and everything is working fine
I dropped and shattered my G2 last week even the LCD wasnt working. So i paid the deductible and got a new one. I havent opened it but i think im deciding to go get a HTC One M8 and selling this one while its new and not activated. Do you all think its fine if i sell it if it just came from assurion? Its brand new in the official G2 box. Im wondering if i sell it on ebay, will the other person have a problem activating it on their line?
So i have a Samsung s7 edge and the screen is cracked. What do you recommend? Do you know any cheap places to fix? If it's over 150 id rather just sell it, but what site do you recommend to sell it on? it works fine other then the front screen is cracked. It's a G935T for T-mobile.
No joke i just had it fixed and my dog broke it back in December. What happened was I was petting my new puppy then afterward i couldn't find my phone. So I used that ring website to find my phone. I found it between her teeth biting the plastic case and she cracked the screen .
Buy a new phone, sucks but that's it s8 and note 8 is out our devices are now old
So seeing all of the people with s8 problems and GPS I can tell you that my S8U1 model is working flawlessly. I have the August update. Now here is the thing about my journey. I had a sprint s8 which was garbage. The motherboard died in about June with mmc issues so what I did was order a replacement motherboard and rear glass. I ordered the unlocked U1 motherboard from Russia which was ironically purchased in the US direct from Samsung.
It was a simple drop in replacement. I swapped the camera lenses and sensor bezel from the original glass instead of using the Chinese one that came with the back glass. (Pro tip)
I got the replacement board for 50$ shipped off ebay.
While in the phone I also replaced the battery with a higher output battery I got for 12 bucks off amazon.
NOW that being said, I want to reinvest a bit more time into this phone and get it rooted. It's been quite a few years since I've been in the rooting game and I want to know what the current pitfalls are and is the U1 easier to root?
