Hey guys,
I have the SD S10+. As the topic says, I do not see the ring light effect whenever I unlock/lock my phone. I have edge lighting etc all enabled but I have no idea why I have seen some phones edge and camera ring light up when the phone is unlocked but not mine.
Shouldn't the camera ring light up by default when you unlock or wake the phone without the use of any third-party apps?
Any assistance?

The camera ring light effect occurs when you unlock your phone with face unlock.
Thank you for your response. I had no idea it only did that for face unlock

Hi. I've got a question regarding the notification lights on the phone.
I'm aware of the power button light, but is there a notification light on the front of the phone?
If so can anybody take a photo/video of the notification light when it is working?
Thank you.

Can't get to the camera now but the front LED light is right next to the earpiece to the left.

Hello to everyone,
I have a Note 4 N910F with stock Android 5.0.1 and i have seen some issues with the ambient display.
With this feature the phone is supposed to turn its screen on every time a notification arrives. My phone turns its screen on for some notifications like messages and viber but for other applications the screen doesnt turn on. Allthough if i press the home screen the notification is there on the lock screen.
Its kinda annoying thing because thats one of the major functions about android lollipop.
I would like to mention that its not any settings problem because all the notifications for its application are enabled on my phone.
If anyone knows if this is normal or software issue or application issue it would be very helpful. Thank you.
First of all... How did you get ambient display to work?
I don't have the option although sammobile posted a video with a lollipop rom having this feature.
I dont know if i am right but by ambient display i mean that when a notification arrives it appears on the lock screen and the screen turns on.
For me for some apps the notification is on the lock screen and the screen doesnt wake but for other apps like messages and viber both notifications and screen wake is there.
for that reason i use an app that whenever there is a new notification the screen turns on.

Hey. Could you share your csc files so that I can enable amibent display on my device?? Your device must have it only because the country you're in.
That's not ambient display. This function is missing in the recent release of 5.0.1 touchwiz. Sammobile did show it being there in the sound and notification menu above the daydream option but seems Samsung left it out in the release. I'm thinking that the delay with release for other European countries is due to bugs and missing items, I'm not sure. The original delay was to get tw lollipop to work with the vr headset. At present its hit and miss with notifications lighting up the screen when they arrive. Some apps do it and some don't. Ambient display is where you pick up the phone and notifications are shown in black and white for quick glance as is the case for nexus 6 lollipop or cm12. I'm hoping the rollout to other countries well have solved the missing ambient display and the priority notification not having any time option like in blocking mode on kk.

I got the ambient display on my S5 (G900F) form CM 12.1. Thanks to the gestures control, when I wave my hand it will display time, and the screen will light up. It's really cool, but it's easy to unlock the phone by mistake when the phone is in my pocket, because the proximity sensor detected a "hand wave". Once the ambient display is on, the phone just needs one swipe to unlock the phone.
I think the screen should keep locked even I tap the screen when it is on ambient display mode. Is there any way to achieve this function?
Sorry for my poor English
I have sprint model. When I get a text or call notification with phone upside down, the lock screen and capacitive buttons light up for a split second then the edge lights up according to it's configuration. It too lights up for just a second then the lock screen comes up thus canceling the edge before it gets started. Settings appear correct. Accelerometer works fine. No settings in regards to controlling the capacitive buttons or lockscreen from lighting up during an edge lighting notification. Not rooted ,completely stock using stock sms. Any help appreciated
Mine is not working either, Verizon here.
Any solution yet?
Hi,
When my phone is set to night light and I unlock it, there's a second or two delay before the screen turns on the night light, which is really annoying in dark places. This started to happen after A10 update, all versions so far. Is there a way to fix it? I'm rooted.

This is intentional because the fingerprint scanner uses the screen's brightness (and the color green) to shine a light on your finger so that it recognizes your fingerprint.
If night light stays on, that green light will have a different shade of green, thus preventing the camera underneath the screen from taking an accurate picture of your fingerprint.

Oh, this makes sense, thanks. I wish it would be disabled for people who don't use the fingerprint scanner at all, like me.
