Hi. I've got a question regarding the notification lights on the phone.
I'm aware of the power button light, but is there a notification light on the front of the phone?
If so can anybody take a photo/video of the notification light when it is working?
Thank you.

Can't get to the camera now but the front LED light is right next to the earpiece to the left.

its between the proximity sensor and speaker

Is there an app that can be used just to turn on the LED light at the push of a button and then off?
Would be good to use it as a bit of torch.
Thanks

I tried looking in the forum for any info on the status LED next to the speaker on the front side but I don't see any posts on this. Is this LED supposed to flash or do something? On my HD it has never worked? Is it supposed to work?
I remember on my Artemis it would flash green for good reception, blue for bluetooth and red if the battery was low.

I may be wrong but i was under the impresion that this was a sensor rather than a LED.
No, that's entirely correct, it is the light sensor. The LED is in the power button.
the status led is on the power button on the top right hand side of the blackstone...the place u highlighted is a sensor as what scotia has point out..
I think that it is a proximity sensor used to blank screen when you put the phone on your ear to talk.
It's actually the light sensor used for when you have automatic display brightness enabled. When it's dark, it turns down the brightness... And when it's a sunny day it cracks it up. I am not sure whether it's used to blank the screen during a call... This seems to happen after a period of time has elapsed.

ok thanks for the info.
So does the power LED on the top side flash any color to show the status of the reception or does it only light up orange when it charges?
Thanks.
doesn't do anything for reception..although mine flashes green hen I have a message/email/reminder
pity though, a decent LED to show such things was probably high on everyone's wishlist
No, the HD is perfectly unobtrusive. On my last PDA the LED had to be tweaked to stop flashing.
Too bad this isnt a LED diode Since I got on my Diamond a light notification (on the bottom of device)... when I recieved new sms... now on HD there is no way I can figure do I have new sms or notification unless I turn the screen on. The only hardware flaw by mine opinion
When its lying down, I agree with you. Then I have to turn on the screen. However when its lying next to me I'm usually not in a place were I can't use my phone, so the sound is on anyway.
I actually think its quite good the LED is on the top, it's easelly visible when the phone is in my pocket. I just have to pull the phone up a little and look down to see the LED (no need to get it out and turn the screen on). I like it on the top, nice and discreet, and not anoying me when I'm looking at the device while using it.
Perhaps a combination would be nice? Front and top That would sattisfy most people I guess...
Anyone know why my LED light is always on when the screen is off?
I have no alerts, a full battery, no new messages, etc..
It was a yellow solid light then i installed light flow lite and it changed to green.
I've tried to eliminate any color that uses green to find what is using it, but for some reason it always comes on when I turn the screen off.
Its a known issue with Light Flow for the US sg3.

turn off notifications in LED notification settings in the setting menu
It may seem like a totally noob question but I've searched all over and I can't find anything. Even in the lg g2 user guide, there is a picture but not any piece of information. I would like to know what is this circle right to the proximity/light sensors and left to the earpiece. thank you.

Notification LED
Looking in, from left: front-cam, light-sensor, LED notification, earpiece.
Ι've disabled notification Led since 3 days ago when I bought the phone and I couldn't figure it out. I guess it should be there in the first place in the user guide page 36 in phone overview : http://support.bell.ca/_web/Guides/User-Guides/Mobile/LG/LG-EN/LG-G2-user-guide.pdf
Thank you guys and sorry for the silly question.

yea just looked at the pdf and was interesting to notice it doesn't point out that it's the notification led, one could think the phone doesn't have one looking at this
But didn't you see RED when plugging to charge?

well he had disabled the led so it would be very difficult to know while its disabled
Maybe I'm too old to remember but for some reason, I thought even disabling LED notification (disable the color blinking) but red LED always lit at least for a moment when we plug it in for charging.
Anyway, I have to check it again.

nope not with the g2 if the led is disabled then it doesn't light up for nothing(I just checked to make sure I don't say something dumb)
Wait a second people just wait a second. looking from left to right this is what i have. Camera, proximity sensor, unknown little circle within the same oblong opening as the prox sensor, and finally the notification LED.
What is next to the sensor?
[EDIT]
Sorry,i guess it would be the light sensor right?

You were right, if disabling LED notification, there would be no red LED when plugging for charge.

its on the visible surface of the pop-up camera while its contacted, or, top surface of the phone.
That led notification place so useless. Also it doesnt work for me too.
For me its not working even if I set manualy for each app to show led light. Only when charging. Is it software bug?

Did you go to Additional settings/Notification Light and tick Blink Light?
Having said that, it's position is completely useless..?
The notification light won't change color. Even you set the green for whatapp s .Red for black phone.
