All you have to do is plug your phone in to your pc and just drag them (your rom files) to your storage. That's all

Or if you want, you can use an USB OTG.

Flashing Custom Roms Doubt

HI there people, just a n00b question, after flashing a custom rom in my i9500 (wanam lite v1.8) i see all my previous configurations, data, installed apps (including bloatware) are still on my phone, is this the normal condition? i mean....when u flash a custom rom previous apps and data keeps on the phone??? or im missing something (like cleaning cache or something)?? i just followed the custom's rom developer guide (download rom, backup current firmware, flash custom rom, enjoy) I supposed a new installation of all system's components was performed when flashing....any info will be appreciated.. thanks
Did you flash via Odin or Recovery?
There is option in custom recovery and in some rom installations that wipe yuor data before install. Fr custom recovere you can make wipe itsefl

1) Download ROM and put it in the SD card.
2) Make a backup.
3) Wipe Data Factory.
4) Wipe cache partition.
5) Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache.
6) Mount and storage -> Format Data
7) Mount and storage -> Format Cache
8) Mount and storage -> Format System
9) Mount and storage -> Format Preload ( If it is present ).
10 ) Flash custom roms.

1). It DOES matter... You are wiping internal storage... What are you gonna flash when the rom on the internal storage is wiped with ALL the other Data?
it a special feature of the ROM ur trying to install..... wannam 1.8 says - no wipe - hence it only wipes dalvik and regular cache - all the user data is preserved, like apps, contact, sms , etc, etc, - you wouldn't even need a backup when moving to wannam 1.8 ROM.
if u want to start from a clean system i recommend using the Super.Wipe (its comes available on the Phoenix ROM thread)
Cheers

With Clockwork Recovery you don't touch the internal storage, unless you use "Mount and Storage -> Format Internal SD" ( or something like that ).

Unless you really try - you won't format the internal SD with CWM. the clean cache is a command that cleans the OS partition - but if you'll format the internal SD you'll loose all data and apps
infact - what are you trying to do? do you want to completely wipe your device?
Thanks to all for your answers........finally i perform a new clean installation, wiping all data and cache and formating all the /data, /cache, /preload, including internal sdcard (moving rom to external sdcard first of course) and next flashing WanamLite using CMW.
By the way, i was wonder about i9500 suppose to be a 16 GB (internal memory) phone, however......even with a new clean installation internal memory its just about 8.77 GB, am not talking about free space (wich is 6.9 GB now after clean install), the whole internal memory capacity is just 8.77 GB!!! so what about the other 7.x GB in this model???

[Q] Internal storage wipe

Hello.
Is it safe to wipe internal storage, with cm12. 1 installed?
I want a clean storage, but my pc doesn't recognize my lg g2.
What will happen if I wipe internal storage with twrp? Will the system still work, will i Iose my apps, etc?
Thanks in advance!
After formatting internal storage all your pictures, movies, music, system backups and apps data (like .obb files of games) will be deleted.
Installed apps are on /data partition, so only formatting/wipe data will remove all your apps and settings.

But will it delete the system too, or the root? Cause I can't fix that if it does, since it won't be recognize by pc.

You can try usb OTG through TWRP .make sure that it works first ! ( in twrp menu go to mount and check otg usb).
copy your data to usb ,( including rom and gapps that you're about to install) then doa a full wipe ( system/cahe/dalvic/data/internal storage)
Choose usb otg directory flash rom& gapps . after reboot you can move your data again.
No, system is on other partition. You losing CM12 only after formatting /system. @dxkernel
True but not everyone has otg cable.

i think you can but will get deleted.. if you delete system then no OS.
you ll need to flash again rom... and while in twrp connect to pc with usb. and see if you can see it as drive then copy rom..
if your computer doesnt see g2 as a drive or whatever eay to copy stuff to it.. the the only way i have fixed this was reformatting pc.. then it recognized.

Full Wipe Installation

Hi guys, the internal storage is full of [email protected]! My phone is low now... Stucks everytime... I just want to know if i can do a Full Wipe in TWRP (Cache,Dalvik,Data and Internal Storage) and flash a clean new rom and gapps from my SD Card without any problem...
Can i do that without any problem?
Of course Cache,Dalvik,Data, Internal Storage and system (but you will loose your personal data, that's not on your sd of course)
And flash a new rom

My Moto G4 Plus doesn't detect the internal storage in the recovery . I even tried using the PC but even on that the internal storage doesn't show up...I can't do anything with my phone now as no updates or installation to the ROM can be made and booting to the ROM is resulting in a bootloop..Someone please find a solution.

Check if internal storage is mounted in recovery [ TWRP recovery > Mount > select /data partition ]
If still not?
Have you tried downloading files on external storage?
Move files to external memory card or USB OTG stick and mount them in recovery and try to flash.

Internal storage dead
I had same issue with one of my previous phone, turns out internal storage was dead and only solution was to change motherboard.
But don't spend a buck on this phone now. Time for a new phone ,party!!

You might try flashing the stock ROM in fastboot. If that doesn't fix things, little else will.
Before you ask for a link, use the search function on the forum.
Try this!
Flash the stock Recovery and then do a factory reset! and then check if the internal is showing up! did you encrypt your phone??

Hey....
Do you took a couple of a couple of beers when you did this dude ? lol
And do you have some full NANDROID backups on you PC ? If yes and can still
boot into recovery try to FORMAT DATA, then reboot recovery and see
if it's 0mb.
Regards
note 1: you never talked about your model/firmware/TWRP, etc...
note 2: you wiped your phone, now do what i suggest you at your own risk
