Hello,
I've been using my Yoga Book steadily for the last two years. Love this little device. However today it somehow sustained a scratch on the surface of the Halo keyboard. Now roughly all buttons left of "2" is not working as is multi-touch. So I suspect the digitizer, or whatever it's called is broken.
Do anybody know of a fix, or where it is possible to get in repaired? I am living in Denmark.
The tablet has been my main computer for the last two years, and I've used it for studies.
Is it even feasible to do a repair? I am a student with small children, so do not have the financial means to buy a new device or make any expensive repairs.
Best regards

Anyone else have this issue?
Minor I know, but I know I'm gonna lose both stylii at some stage...
I have my 6th stylus now in 2 months, So I think they come out by everyone very fast.
I have had my Qtek for 3 weeks now and just recently i noticed that the stylus is a getting easier to pull out than the first week or so... I wasn't sure about it though, because i am a bit overprotective for my precious. But looks like i'm right if others experience the same thing.

Both my stylii fel out instantly from the start....
same hier, it started about a week after I got my Qtek.
I use the stylus a lot, mind you.
My partner has one as wel but doesn't seem to have this problem so far, and he bought it at the same time as mine.
The part of the stylus that holds it in place is made from plastic, and it will shrink a bit if the temperature is low enough. It might also wear down with constant use...
I dont have this problem with my stylus (either of them). Possible workaround might be to put a tiny bit of prestick or something similar on the side of the stylus which should hold it in place..
I trtied both my styli. The first one was fine but not loose. My spare stylus is excellent, very snug!
I did lose both of mine. I order the 2in1 Stylus pack of three from expansys and they are very snug. I have had them for almost two months and no issues at all.
Never had any problems with mine, though someone at work has an MDA Pro and within 2 months his fell out just by turning it upside down.

the standard ones are like a prick in a bucket
brought some 3-in-1 stylus from a guy in Hong Kong - these were too tight and would leave the pen part of the stylus inside the phone (which could only be removed with needle nosed pliers)
I lost the pen of the HERM200 and tried using my finger but it doesn`t work ! , while using ARTEMIS P3300 I can use the pen and the finger , Is the HERMS has a spical Manufatured pens different from the ARTEMIS and is it not applicable to be touched and managed by fingers ?

Fingers don't work well but any blunt pointed tip works (Example a pen thats run dry). However you run the risk of scratching the screen if the tip is slightly rough or too sharp. I use my finger nail from time to time, but it's difficult to tap accurately that way.

I lost mine to. Are they available through AT&T or HTC?
I bought miy phone Last Friday and said out loud "that (stylus) won't last in my hands". It was gone by Saturday night.

Check here.
Expansys has the original HTC branded - some like them - some don't. They are currently onsale for a pack of three for 4.99 plus shipping. I use mine infrequently because I'm afraid that the rubber block inside the phone will fall out or the clip will break making my stylus drop out easilly. Personally prefer a multitip switchable pen that has a blue, red ink, stylus tips that change with a click. Bought mine at Office Depot - but it wasn't cheap.
Thanks alot guys, Ebay was a slam dunk. Perfect for me. Although I do like those 3 color and a stylus pens alot I'm just going to loose it sooner or later.
I wonder if there if I could tether the thing in some way that won't get hung every where...
Regards, PK
Just be careful on some of the ones on eBay - some are not original HTC and the cheaper ones can get stuck in the phones housing.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure they fit right befor I use them.

Happy to inform the X1 community my wife's X1 celebrates its first year.
The case is 99% intact after three 1m falls to concrete floor. Electronics, touch screen, radio module etc. are all working as in the first day.
The battery is holding charge as new.
Recently we upgraded to 3G network, also no problems encountered.
Still the latest WM 6.1 stock ROM with some XDA forum addons.
My fem is happy with SEX1 and I'm happy with my fem. I could not afford another WM machine so just bought Nokia 5800. Ir's crap I may say vs X1.
No way. It didn't crack and have a broken keyboard or kill your cat?!?!?!
I'm sorry I couldn't help myself. After reading all of those people saying how their phones broke I had to try to "crack" a joke.
Great news, its always good to hear something positive
I have my x1 for nearly a year too.. No cracks on the case nor at the battery on the back of the phone.. Also the H/W keyboard works flawlessly although I have to say that since I read that after moderate use it starts to break down, I started using the touch-screen for typing more
I bought for her a cheap case from eBay. In few weeks she again dropped X1 to ceramic floor in bathroom. The case had been lost in action for good, no harm to X1.
So I just ordered three more cases "just in case". One is still intact, others in reserve.
The screen protector is also almost a full year in service. Time to change soon...
My year with the X1 was up last month. A small crack did appear after 9 months and there are a few scratches on my unit, but all in all I've been happy with my device. I haven't used a screen protector for the last 4 months and the screen still looks great. Everything still works well and it still looks sexy by today's standards (imo). Since my warranty is over, I've entered into the realm of flashing and got the latest Energy Rom. Feels like a new phone all over again. I love how we can customize our phones at will! Best phone I've ever had, hopefully it lasts another few years.
This past weekend I had to go through horrifying experience having to deal my nexus 7's screen cracking. Long story short, my girlfriend, younger brother and I were hanging out in my room, I had left my nexus 7 on the left side of my bed and got up to get something in my room, mean while, my obvious younger brother decided it would be a good idea to sit exactly where I had left my nexus 7...if only he had stayed in the chair that was in my room. Well, my nexus 7 happened to be facing front side up and when he sat on my beautiful tablet, the screen cracked... the 50 dollars Gumdrop Drop Tech Series Case I had invested in proved to be no match to his rear end.
I sat there quite silent for a couple minutes, no words to say, it was just as time itself had paused to morn for my loss. Well anyhow, I ordered a brand spanking new 32GB nexus 7 last night and I'm expecting it to arrive tomorrow . I was fiddling around with my nexus 7 and I managed to enable "show touches" in the developer options by attaching a mouse to my device. I noticed that top left corner of the screen gave touch feed back.
My question is why the small portion of the touch screen responds to touch when the majority of the screen doesn't, this anomaly (from reading various forum posts, the nexus 7 screen isn't suppose to respond to touch once the screen is cracked) leaves me pondering if there was something I could do to make the other portion of the screen to work. I was originally looking into screen replacement options, but from what I read and saw first hand, it's better to buy a whole new unit (like I had mentioned I had done in the earlier text) than to purchase a brand new digitizer. The other option would be to find a bricked nexus 7 on the internet and salvage the screen, and trying to find a low priced bricked nexus 7 on the internet is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.
Now, I'm a college student (majoring in Computer Networking System Administrations ) and blew 3/4 of my savings for a new unit (I'm poor!). If there is no financially feasible method for replacing the screen enabling being able sell the device for higher price, how much do you folks think I could sell it for? Keep in mind, my cracked nexus 7 is 16GB model and is unlocked (rooted) and is in pretty the good shape despite the cracked screen, the actual display has not been damaged, it's just touch digitizer that is not working properly.
Thanks for reading my lengthy post/ramble
So I take it your brother who broke it won't be compensating you for breaking your tablet? I would be pissed, he should at least pay for some of the cost of the replacement.

Well he's actually going compensate me with 50 bucks so that's nice.
Hi, I have exactly the same problem and had the same idea. If i can calibrate the digitizer to exactly 50% of the original dimensions I could use the working area of the screen to operate the device. Did you find a way to do this?

no offence intended but anyone who breaks my tablet, family or not would be compensating me 100% plus a srry beer thrown in.
After almost 3 years, my good old Xperia SP fell hard and the glass screen protection broke.
I always had a silicon case, and it survived a lot of falls (even very hard ones, while biking etc.), but this time it fell screen first on a metal furniture corner. Incredibly, the phone still works fine (touchscreen works without problem, screen itself is not broken), but it is very hard to read due to the cracks.
I feel quite bad for having to replace my phone while it still works, but it's not really usable in this state, and the repair cost is too high for such an old phone.
So I will buy a new phone, and just wanted to say a big big THANK YOU to all the devs who dedicated so much of there time for our phone. I can't remember all there names, but @uberlaggydarwin gave our phone a great and much needed start, and more recently @Adrian DC gave our phone great CM versions (MM on Xperia SP is so great!), so this one goes out to you guys !
Thank you all, and keep coding !

Well, you can buy a new touchscreen for less than $10 free shipped from China (try ali****) and the installation process is relatively easy. At least that what I did when the digitizer of my XSP stopped working.
I'll use it as-is, but as a backup phone.
I used to to take my old dumbphone back out on some occasions, now I'll have my XSP for that.
