Hello Everyone!
I currently have a Sprint Variant Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I have switched to Tmobile and I am wanting to get this device unlocked in order for me to be able to properly use this phone on another network.
From what I understand, the newer phones use remote unlocking in order to unlock devices and no longer have a code generated using IMEI number.
I have found fairly cheap people who will unlock it on ebay, and with fairly reliable reputation as well.
this is what i have done so far.
1) I have downgraded from the latest version to: G935PVPU2APC5 which i believe is the required version in order to be able to have a device unlocked
2) I factory reset the device
3) I enabled Developer Mode
4) I have enabled USB Debugging
5) I have enabled OEM Unlocking
this is where the issue comes in...
I am unable to use any Dialer Codes in order to access DIAG menus to change stuff around. I need to activate " DM + Modem + ADB " and when i type ##3424# nothing happens. it just calls out.. I was reading online that i have to activate CP Logging in Recovery, but when I boot into recovery the option is not there for me to activate.
I am really wanting to get my device unlocked, and I dont want there to be an issue. does anyone know if that step is necessary or how i can get the dialer menu to work?

Unlocked mines using idoneapps.com. For $35 it can instantly unlock your device, only takes two reboots. You download an app and purchase and click unlock. You can also debrand you phone, read msl and enable hotpsot but that requires rooting.

Do you still unlock? I may be interested as I have a Sprint S7 Edge that I want to use on Cricket (sister company to AT&T)
Hello, so recently I hard reset my neighbour's redmi note 4G and was greeted with a "Your device is associated with another account, please sign in to activate this device"
When i asked, my neighbour told me she never used an mi account so she doesn't know the password.
Now the problem is-
1. The phone is locked with the default mi 2.0.1 recovery and bootloader is locked.
2. Usb debugging is disabled and the only way to enable it is after i can activate the phone.
3. The device isn't getting detected on fastboot neither in recovery.
What should i do? I was thinking of flashing the resurrection remix since she was pretty bored with the current miui 7.
Help is appreciated, thanks

Normally yes, if you have bootloader locked, frp locked, stock recovery and a password at lock screen it is hard that someone else could use your p9 lite. To use your p9 lite without your gmail need to flash another rom and to do that you need a custom recovery but for a custom recovery you need bootloader unlocked and also frp unlocked and for that you need to turn on the phone and know the password at lockscreen.
How do I make sure bootloader and FRP are locked? My friend said the p9lite doesn't have FRP Lock but I'm sure it does.
I thought that even if it did have FRP and I lost phone, they could change from (build number) by flashing or using Odin regardless of bootloader.

You need to enter in fastboot mode to see if you have frp and bootloader locked. To do that there are different ways:
1) adb from pc and using command on the terminal;
2) volume down + power button on same time for 10sec (this seems to not work on p9lite);
3) (probably the fast way) Shutdown your phone, press and hold volume down and while holding connect it to computer by an usb cable, after some seconds it will enter in fastboot mode. ( to exit from here and reboot system press and hold power button for 10sec)
Here you can see, down, in green color:
Phone lock (means bootloader locked);
FRP lock.
Or if they are unlocked, you will see them write in red color.
As I know Odin is for Samsung terminals and yes with it probably you can directly push other roms from PC(if you have theme) and yes FRP lock will be useless. Same things can do with mediatek terminals using SpFlashTool (was tested by me and frp was useless). For our device as I know there aren't those types of application on PC. We have HiSuite but can't do nothing from it.

Thinking about it I've only ever used Odin on Samsung. When I'm home I'll check if bootloader is locked. But I'm assuming it is as everything is stock/unrooted.
I've never factory reset and bothered to see if it was FRP locked, the lazy way to check.
I'll check when I go home.

Settings>developer modes, here it is an option:
Enable OEM unlock. If you enable it you will unlock FRP, by default it is disabled.

The OEM UNLOCK enabled disables FRP Lock right? But out of the box the OEM UNLOCK is disabled which means the FRP lock is active?

Yep! When you will go home to try fastboot mode, try also to change OEM unlock and you will see the difference. (about bootloader unlock you need a key that you can receive from Huawei for free, need to register somethings about your p9lite).

if "frp active" means frp lock, yes the oem unlock must be disabled so no one can flash other roms from stock recovery cause it will request gmail account but, if you have twrp recovery it's useless to lock ("active") frp cause from twrp recovery everyone else can flash everything (it's possible cause from twrp you can do wipe of system that you can't do from recovery stock).

Hi friend,
I believe, you already have MI account and permission SMS from Xiaomi. If not, please read how to get bootloader unlock permission from Xiaomi over the net. If you have that permission, please make sure that you are using latest version of MI unlock tool.
Then log in with your MI username and password. Activate developper options in the phone, then USB debugging + OEM unlock in the developper options. Then go to fastboot and connect the phone. Check wheter the phone drivers are properly installed in Windows.
If everything is OK, then hit UNLOCK. If you have all of the above completed, then you should succeed.
If you want to flash another rom in the phone, you can make that without to unlock bootloader with an Xiaomi enginnering cable. Google is your friend

Hi, thks for help.. I dont have that "OEM unlock" option, dont know why...
This is what I get: "Current account is not bound to this device"
This will the Ultimate Guide to Unlock Bootloader. Install TWRP and Root.
Unlock Bootloader
Requirements:

• PC
• USB Cable
• Internet connection
Procedure:
• Setup your MIUI account by going to Settings -> Mi Account
• Apply for permission here (Use MIUI browser on the phone-Mandatory) (http://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html)
• Use your phone number with your country prefix to log in (ex. +91 Mobile number, is for India. Ex +91 99999999)
• Write why you want to unlock the device in 2-3 sentences (it may take a few days, Be patient. You will receive SMS confirmation if approved)
• Download Mi Unlocker from here (http://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html)
• Enable developer options by going to Settings -> About phone and tap 7 times on MIUI version
• Go to Settings -> Additional Settings -> Developer Settings and tick OEM Unlocking and USB debugging
• Go to Settings -> Additional Settings -> Developer Settings -> Mi Unlock Status and press Unlock

• Go to Mi Cloud by clicking here (https://i.mi.com/)
• Login with your phone number
• Click on Find device and locate your phone
• In the folder where you've extracted the Mi Unlock tool, you will find a program called MiUsbDriver, open it and press Install
• Log in to Mi Unlock by opening miflash_unlock on PC with the same phone number you used in obtaining the unlock permission
• Switch off your phone and go into Fastboot by pressing Volume down and Power simultaneously and connect your phone to the PC
• Once it shows a handset in Mi Unlock click on Unlock button
• Wait for a minute and you are done
• Your phone's bootloader is now UNLOCKED
NOTE: if you are stuck anywhere during this procedure, please start from step 1.
The main advantage of this procedure is that you don't need Developer ROM, it will work on Official builds as well.
Flashing TWRP
Requirement
ADB
TWRP for Redmi 5A (Riva) (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-3-1-1-0-xiaomi-redmi-5a-t3712243)
LazyFlasher zip https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298947108
Procedure:
1. Reboot to Fastboot mode by pressing and holding Volume down + power button
2. Connect the phone to the computer with the original usb cable.
3. On your computer download the recovery from the link below and move it to the ADB folder.
4. Now in the adb folder, press shift and right click, select “open command prompt here”
5. Type the following
fastboot devices (to check if the computer recognizes the phone)
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.1-0-riva.img (Flashes the TWRP to the phone)
6. Reboot the device to recovery. DO NOT BOOT TO SYSTEM YET Use Volume Up + Power to boot to recovery.
7. Flash Lazyflasher to disable dm-verity & forced encryption on MIUI.
8. Reboot to system
Now you have TWRP and MIUI.
Cheers.
If you've visited the MIUI forums, you'll be seeing complaints everywhere about the unsuccessful account binding that shows error code: 86023 hardwareId abnormal (<- Chinese fonts), and it has to do with Indonesian Xiaomi products. I'm certain Indian devices are all good to go for unlocking. But other devices are having a hard time. Trust me I've done you're guide before, with the same procedures, I've even tried other guides, but it's the same results. If you want to see my logcat, I'll upload one for you.
TAM warranty problem
I think it is related with this issue for Indonesian Mi user. http://en.miui.com/thread-719126-1-1.html

Which has been fixed since like a week ago. Yeah that's what they say. Server issue. For Indian user's yeah it was a server issue, but for Indo users nope, we had to totally go crazy on social media and forums until they enabled UBL (ENABLED UBL?).
Let me get this straight, I asked several local Xiaomi authorized service centers and even TAM service centers, I emailed local Xiaomi CS, even did an online chat with them. What did all of them say? They all said the same thing: that UBL has been disabled for Indonesian Xiaomi devices under TAM warranty. Do you have proof that it was a server issue for TAM devices? If you do please post it. Please if it was a server issue, why the heck did the replies of Xiaomi CS Indonesia emails to me all said the same things: "UBL has been disabled for devices under TAM warranty."
I had to wait for a total of 3 months and several days (plus an extra 15 days after binding account, which right now I'm in my 9th day of waiting). I needed my 5A to be unlocked and rooted from day 1. Why? Because my old phone died out, I needed my 5A to be my daily driver. I needed it for work, for communication, for projects. I was willing to wait for 15 days prior binding, but it didn't get resolved for 3 bloody damn months. Would Xiaomi compensate my loses? Nope. So please if it was really a server issue, bring me proof, because I am already totally disappointed in Xiaomi.

Thanks for guide its very helpfull
Thanks for the post. It'd be so cool if there was an alternate method than the legit one... I've request it to be unlocked 15 days ago, maybe more, and still havn't gotten any news...
