I really want to put a custom ROM on my phone (Asus ZenFone Laser 2 - ZE500KL), obviously without bricking it. Because I can't find RessurectionRemix or LineageOS already built, I'm going to try building by myself.
I can't find any good tutorials, but I tried this one, but I got an error right when installing the libraries... Because I know no one is going to build it for me, can someone suggests a step by step tutorial? (I have amateur Linux skills, I'm not any pro, but not any noob)

You unlock the bootloader then you flash TWRP.. After that you wipe DATA/CACHE/DALVICK CACHE and you flash your ROM and GAPPS (ARM64).

So, if something go wrong in the process, I would just need to do the exact same process but with the stock ROM right?
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked before flashing twrp, go to fastboot and type this
fastboot oem device-info
if you see this -->> (bootloader)Device unlocked: true
then you are unlocked, then proceed to flash your device twrp latest version.

You need to flash the stock recovery and then flash the stock ROM. There are plenty of tutorials on XDA to help you with that so don't worry.. You can find more in the General section of this forum

Just 2 more things I wanna make sure:
1. Do I need to root to flash LineageOS?
2. On that LineageOS post, what is the AOKP? xD I already checked the website but I didn't get what it is, and if it comes with the ROM...
You dont need to root because the rom is already pre rooted. But you can change root to SuperSU or PHH Superuser if you want.
AOKP are custom ROM developers/modders.

1: you don't need to root
2: AOKP is a custom ROM based on CyanogenMod/LineageOs but with extra features (Like Resurrection Remix has)
Thank you very much to everyone, Im just rocking LineageOS 14.1 on my smartphone! Until now, no errors!
Hi, I had systemless rooted my LG V20 with @emdroidle steps and it worked flawlessly. I had the phone running normally. So I decided to try to flash XPOSED. I performed a nandroid backup via TWRP and proceeded to flash the recommended file 26-07-17-xposed-systemless-v87-sdk24-by-PurifyOS.zip. But after flashing it wont longer boot, not even to recovery.
What could make this to happen? Also, do I need to restore the system?

Nevermind, I was idiot and panicked and wasn't entering recovery menu correctly. I restored the nandroid backup and had no problem booting.
But since the thread is here. Anyone has managed to flash Xposed to v20?

I flashed the zip as I flashed xposed on other phones but never had this issue.
Do I need an ARM64 version of xposed?

Yes arm64, I just flashed just it but I used the systemless zip because I have magisk.

Is that for arm64? Because it looks exactly like the file that I flashed and caused my h900ds to not boot. I am on the lastest magisk and haven't updated the firmware.

Hmmm just saw that. Go to xposed thread and ask there or maybe someone else can chime in but I'm out of ideas.
I have installed resurrection mod on my phone, this part is working at the moment.
I followed a tutorial to install it using twrp, however everytime i tried to launch it i would get a pixilated yellow screen and the phone would freeze on the android logo.

Now the phone loads into resurrection fine, however when i try to go into recovery mode the phone has black and white noise at the top like an old TV and it freezes.
I have tried installing TWRP again with no luck.
What should i try now?

I also used their BL and Modem, but it didn't work for me either. So when they ask you (in ROM Threads) to have 5.1.1 or 6.0.1, you'd better flash the whole firmware.

Hi dude right now i have nothing on my phone but TWRP, if it try to start my phone it shows the samsung logo, then the screen goes yellow very slow and freezes..

Your problem has solution, but you should give us proper and more detailed info about your issue, which RR rom you were using or people must guess it? Which the latest ROM you flashed? Are you with official TWRP?
C'mon make an effort and tell your specs correctly so any member could guide you.

TWRP now updated to 3.1.1-1.

If you are with marshmallow bootloader you can flash Vince sources based ROMs. Validus by tioguda, Lineage by Vince, RR unofficial by Has.
If you want AOSPExt, Viper, RR official, you must downgrade to lollipop as stated by user above??, as these ROMs are Dyneteve's sources based ROMs which boot only with lollipop bootloader.

Tried to install the rom again, after reset the samsung logo shows and my screen slowly goes yellow and freezes.

Hello devs. I am facing finger print enrollment problem.
I can only enroll one finger in any ROM.
This started when I flashed linage 15.0.
I revert back to linage 14.1 still I'm facing same issue.
The issue is I can only enroll one finger. When it comes to second time I can enroll up to 95% after that it says pls try another finger.
ROM: linage 14.1
Kernal : stock
Modifications : not yet
Xposed : no
Root :no
Substratum : no
Flashed : clean flashed. By performing factory reset.
Then ROM then gapps..
Pls guide me if there is any fix.

I'm using g4 plus Indian variant

The baseband/modem thing don't come with any custom ROM, it is the thing which come with stock ROMs, and remains same in any ROM you install..
Settings > about > baseband.
It should be M8950_70030.-------....
If it is lower than 70030, then you need to flash latest stock ROM.

Commands given there contain lock commands which will re-lock your bootloader,
You don't need to use them,
So, while flashing, dont use them,
"oem lock begin" (two times in starting)
And "oem lock" (last second)
Use all commands except this threee..

Drivers won't install if signature is wrong. Don't know what os you're running on the laptop or what other software is active(I don't want to troubleshoot in that direction) but please make sure it's not because of any of my previous post.

Developer preview win 10 creators. I had Mac antivirus . I disabled right now. While installing drivers it says incorrect parameter

See I can't find fastboot devices. But I can detect my mobile using adb devices. That to only when device is on.
Then I tried going to boot loader using command and then I tried fastboot device command but still it can't detect
@VPawankumar369 when you connected in bootloader, check your PC's device manager and update drivers if anything is unknown or uninstall and reinstall drivers.
It's driver problem, if you are not able to do in that PC, then ask someone else for 30 minutes.
Hi everyone, today I will be telling you all how to get back to stock as long as your bootloader states "PHONE Unlocked" and "FRP Unlock"

When installing, you will see the error: "E: Unknown command []]"
DO NOT BE AFRAID!
That is supposed to happen lol.
Installation procedure -
1. Flash this TWRP: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18uHjW73Th8iYKIs5m_QgwleMIOjsZd7S/view?usp=sharing
2. Wipe everything except SD card, then choose "Format data" to decrypt device
3. Reboot once again into TWRP (NOTE: If you are using USB OTG cable, make sure to plug it in AFTER TWRP is fully booted and ready to go, if you do it early, you get an error, which is weird lol. EDIT: Not sure if this error is still present in the new twrp, but it's never bad to play it safe.)
4. Flash HuRUpdater, make sure the file names are correct!
5. Reboot into stock recovery
6. Factory reset and wipe cache partition
7. Reboot
This method also enables themes to work again, so no need to worry about that!

Yes, after flashing this via twrp, if you reboot once again to recovery, it is stock recovery, not twrp.

I see the OTA update but it failed to install. Do I need to relock the bootloader?

I would assume so. I sent a support ticket to honor regarding the issue (I had the same problem as you) but I went back to custom ROMs so I can't help you here sorry.

Did you try running the update again? I had a similar problem after I unrooted and reinstalled the stock recovery. It failed the first time but when I rebooted and did it again it worked.

looks like modem update didnt update properly. I am not able to place a call. other apps seem to be fine with data. BTW, what custom rom are you using?
