Two button Pie Gesture navbar for G7?? - Moto G7 Questions & Answers

I've come from an AOSP rom and the only thing that really annoys me about this handset is that motorola took away the ability to activate the stock Pie two button navigation feature in Gestures and replaced it with Moto Actions.
Does anyone know of a way of getting this back? I have looked at other pill options, but can't find anything that is the same. I'm on a rooted device.

To be honest,.after about 3-4 hours after purchasing I got use to the Moto Launcher apk pill. Gestures are taking a little time getting use too...

The Pix3lify module in Magisk will add it. That's what I use and it works great with no issues.

iPhone X gestures

Is there any option to make iPhone X gestures on S8
Which gestures do you mean exactly?
There is no nav bars . Only gestures. When you close an app, only scroll up from bottom of screen. Or when you scroll up half, it shows recently used apps. Like these. By this way , nav bar doesn't fill a place at screen.
You could hide the navbar by pressing the dot in the left.
For the rest, I think it COULD be possible to do that kind of gestures in some custom rom.
That's my first rom without custom rom so I cannot speak for that but in my past phones, most times there was an option for that. You could hide the status bar, the navbar and could save some custom gestures like the one you want.
I highly doubt that anyone will do an iOS-like rom. That's just not a thing the wide community wants. You could also just sell your S8 and buy yourself the iPhone X. That would be the best option.
Why you need them?
You've problems with your nav bar?
We have nav bar and we don't need them
If this is not the case, I would suggest you to sell s8 and purchase a X
I don't like nav bar placing screen. That's all.
Just use navbar hider APK or 0pt navbar apk and download all in one gestures from the playstore or personally my favorite simple control and voila oh and enable all full screen apps to get rid of that stupid white tap her to fill screen bull****.
I'm sure that alternative navbar are coming with an iphoneX-like style
But if you don't want to wait, just use some gestures apps from the play store
When Blackberry 10 came out with these gestures in 2013, it wasn't as popular, but when Apple copies it, it becomes an interesting invention. When first iPhone came out, then others were trying to catch up, but for few years it is the opposite. So we need to look what is ahead and not at the past.
Hide navbar/status bar permanently

For gestures, download Nova Launcher Prime and assign gesture controls. In fact, get that set up before ditching the nav bar
Solutions
Hello You can use "All in one gestures" for simulete home.

There are many apps that offer 3rd party gesture based navigation. Among these are a slew of iPhone X gesture clones. Worth noting: iPhone X gestures are not ideal for the S8, as swiping up will cause the navbar to reappear. There is a way of permanently hiding the navbar, but it does not work on Oreo.
Download x home bar:free from the play store.

Nav Bar Gestures

Will you be using the new features that eliminate the nav buttons? although you loose the long press options on nav bar
why not
I like the new feature, but I badly miss the menu function (long press} of old navbar, OnePlus should add this function as additional gesture
I liked it, but it's a bit bare now and needs a few preferences to suit everyone.
I admit I was skeptical at first about the swipe navigation posts earlier, but I now can see the benefits.
it's great except for Back not being responsive enough, Home is good
Yes I'd love to replace my Xposed Edge + GMD Gestures combo with a stock feature, but only if we are able to customise the duration of the animations / duration of long press, and if we can enable and disable individual gestures independently. Because the back gestures are wacky, the other ones are good except for the sluggish animations.
Very nice this gestures but have some little bugs:
1. Back gesture not work very good.
2. Can't start Google assistant (long press home button ???) - partial resolve by: "OK Google" or Nova Launcher
3. Same situation on Recent and back button (long press actions) bye bye
The back gesture is not fast enough.
However, gestures are interruptive and fun to use.
I still would love to have the disappearing nav-bar with a simple toggle to bring it up and take it down.
If there was an option to go back to last app with no waiting time it would have been great. For now I will switch to stable or different rom.
I would definitely prefer the back gestures as is on iPhone or Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (Maybe more models too), just sliding from the left side of the screen or right side of the screen. It is a way easier and more reliable than now.
I like a lot the new gestures feature, like someone said in the previous responses, some customization for the gestures will be greatly appreciated.
No because I use a very similar just MUCH more cutomisable method with better results.
I disabled Nav bar using jOneplustools app via new quick settings option and use this app instead. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ation&hl=en_GB
called: Swipe Navigation
FULLY customisable long press actions and sensitivity. Compatible with most roms and quick and easy to set up.

Fingerprint sensor gestures not working?

I jumped on the bandwagon of the prime day PH-1 and picked one up. I ran through all of the updates and turned on the fingerprint sensor gestures but they aren't working. fingerprint for unlock works just fine though. I've rebooted several times and done a hard reset to no avail. Am I out of luck here?
Thanks
If you updated to Android Pie you have to enable gestures. Burried all the way in the system tab at the bottom of settings.
What do they do? I find the sensor is not in a good place for gestures.
I love the apps oneplus gestures and hide nav bar though. Gives same gestures as op6 and hides nav bar for full screen.
Shame they are not built in along with double tap to wake and skip lock screen after face unlock.
On the Essential its just to pull down the notification shade.

I was just about to start searching for this feature. Coming from the Pixel 2 XL I realized I didn't really need it but just wanted to have it lol. This phone is really nice too bad there won't be a second one

Moto / Pie Recents button - vertical vs. horizontal

So I just rebuilt my rooted / stock Verizon G7 after manually applying the latest update, and noticed something weird (to me). The Nova Launcher Prime that I have used for years wouldn't stay the default Home, it kept reverting to the defaut Moto launcher. I made sure Nova was set as default, installed on internal storage and had all appropriate permissions, but it would flip back to Moto after a minute or two. I uninstalled almost every app, because sme people suggested this, but it still happened. I installed several other launchers just to test, but they had the same problem too.
The fix was to freeze/disable the Moto launcher. But this brings us to my problem.
The Recent menu button with the Moto launcher has the cool Pie Recent button where running apps come up horizontally. After freezing the Moto launcher, the Recents come up in the older vertical way. I know some people prefer the older way, but I genuinely prefer the new one. Nova previously let me use the horizontal Recent list, and I am pretty sure (but not positive) that I had the Moto launcher frozen.
Does anyone know how I can get the recent menu back to horizontal? I have GravityBox (P) installed, but this is one of the few things that it doesn't appear to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know this isn't a big deal, the phone works perfectly well and performance-wise, it was a steal for the money. Magisk, TWRP, xPrivacylua, AFWall, GravityBox, Nova and a few other largely aesthetic tweaks make it mine. But this one little thing is really annoying me, and I suspect that a lot of you know what I mean. Sometimes, perfect functionality isn't enough.

swipe up from corners to go back

I use lots of apps that swiping right or left brings up side menus ,so swipeing right or left to back is pain and interferes with these apps ,is there any way of using the corners again ?
I hate this, too. So I use the best third party gesture app that retains OnePlus' original gestures, plus adds additional functionality:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.oneplusgestures
Switch to navigation bar, then use a PC with ADB to hide the bar. Or use root..

Thanks for this recommendation. I too am used to the original gestures and find myself constantly invoking the Google Assistant without wanting to!
I was so disappointed with the new gestures and immediately started to miss my OnePlus 6, this app saves the whole Android 10 experience on OP8. Thank you!!
I don't mind the right side swipe but I don't need the left swipe in for back, any way to deactivate that!?
XDA app uses swipe in from left and the phone just thinks I want to go back

I personally use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid since it has a bit more features. Same setup though. I just couldn't stand the normal implementation...
Try swiping on a diagonal when trying to open a menu.
Edit: diagonal trick doesn't work so well, but I've found that using 2 fingers works very well to slide a menu out and not trigger the back function.
Thought I would revive this ,surely Google and apps developers.realisenthisnis an issue and something has to give ,I use at least half a dozen aps that have swipe from the side gestures ,all that's happening the moment is it takes me back .
Surely either app developers have to make it swipe from middle for it to work or Google has to allow swipe up to go back as an option
