Hello Xda
I recently unlocked my device with the regon away apk. all went well, downgraded to mf3 modem and unlocked, however after unlock, all i get is edge internet, no lte or H+. I think i tinkered with the utms and set it to gsm only before unlocking, i dont know if thats whats casuing the issue but please someone help.
Try reflashing your modem and moduels? If worst comes to worst reflash your firmware. Once you sim unlock it wont go away even if you reflash firmwares via odin.
Can someone provide/point me to an odin-able stock recovery?
just use samsung kies and re install stock and then you can root your device again.
Works like a charm every time whenever a ROM you flashed wipes out your iMEI or your sim not able to connect to bell network. FYI im with Bell as well
I recently switched to Xfinity mobile from AT&T. I got the cheap Moto phone for basically free but would like to use my GS 8 factory unlocked.
When I put in the SIM Card my GS8 is unable to connect to the network.
I recently tried rooting my device and that failure resulted in a warranty claim. Now that I have it back I need assistance... Don't want to spend the money on a new phone as my GS8 works just fine.
Saw a recommendation to flash my device to Xfinity firmware but not sure about this approach given my recent root failure.
Anyone ever BYOD to Xfinity and had to work around the network issues?
I'm a complete noob, but you say your s8 is unlocked so have you tried to change the apn settings for Xfinity mobile
Typically, it's very hard to "brick" a device. As long as you are able to boot your device in upload mode, it's not technically bricked. Most flashing errors can be fixed by booting the phone into upload mode and flashing stock (the original baseband file of the device) firmware in Odin.
I personally think you should be fine using an unlocked phone on Xfinity Mobile (even though it's not technically supported). When you flash in Odin make sure the CSC file is from Xfinity Mobile. Try doing some research in the Carrier Switch thread first.

First off welcome to XDA Im pretty sure I saw you post on the XFIN forums..
Yea I have never seen that issue I have used several byod devices on XFIN all where verizon based though..Which does not matter on s8 as it is a multi carrier device
So first you need to see which firmware you are currently running
Download that exact same firmeware with cct as csc which is what determines carrier Heck if your on tonight I can upload a CCT csc and you should be able to flash one in ODIN if yours is the 950u1 which is unlocked s8 model We will be changing it to a regular 950u which is carrier....
I am Like the local Xfinity guru here as I use them I have mine rooted and everything even bricked several to previous said upload mode But I was playing with deep deep stuff.Nothng that odin can really harm
@HoosierDaddy

Goto sammobile or updato who ever you get your firmwares from and get the CCT branded firmware of your likeness of bootloader revision
I do not have any firmwares on hand any more I lost my old gmail account and my gdrive as well I am starting from scratch
i got a straight talk G930VL with bone stock firmware and i wont flash the G930U on it last time i did it bricked the phone and i had to get it replaced so i will not flash anything on it. so is it possible to unlock GSM without flashing a different firmware? I added the T-Mobile Access Point and i get full 4G LTE Data and speeds but i cannot make phone/recieve calls or send/recieve text messages.
Bought wife a new LG Stylo 3+ from Cricket and had it unlocked. Nice device, but only issues now are tethering doesn't work at all. Not USB or Wifi tethering is possible using their firmware. I get a network authorization error that was due to Crickets device CSC. I found some notes that others have used SQLite on some devices to clear the carrier crippling, and am now able to turn on the tethering, but now I can't open any webpage when connected to the device and mobile data is on.
This oddball, the LG M430 is a tough one to find any type of clean stock firmware, and forget about trying to root it. Any ideas on flashing it with the M450 firmware from T-Mobile, AT&T or Canada's Freedom M470 variant? Thx.
