[REQUEST] Stock recovery for Bell Canada S7 Edge? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Can someone provide/point me to an odin-able stock recovery?

just use samsung kies and re install stock and then you can root your device again.
Works like a charm every time whenever a ROM you flashed wipes out your iMEI or your sim not able to connect to bell network. FYI im with Bell as well

My experience with Tab. Flash back to stock rom and then to Roto's JME v4 again.

I successfully flash from Roto pre-rooted JME v4 rom back to stock ATT rom ( also provided by Roto ), and to JME v4 again.
What I did in last couple of days:
I got the ATT tab and didn't activate the SIM card. I rooted the tab and flashed the tab with Roto pre-rooted JME v4 rom ( as mentioned in many posts, root is not a pre-requisite of flashing Roto's rom ).
I used an iPhone SIM card in the Tab. Both the voice and data worked. I even got 'H" ( HSUPA) on the signal bar while the iPhone with the same SIM card only shows '3G', probably because I flashed the Tab with Bell modem.
However, I found it is not very convenient for me to use the Tab as the main phone. So, I want to activate the original SIM card that comes with the Tab and only use data on Tab, which I thought I could only do that by using the stock ATT rom ( if anyone knows a different way, you can share it ).
So, I used odin and flashed the ATT stock rom posted by Roto. The flash process is very easy. NO re-partion, no PIT, no modem. I just put the ATT stock rom into 'PDA' part in the odin and click 'START'.
After I flashed Tab back to the stock rom, I even got back the Samsung logo. No more black screen with bright line. Everything seems to be back to original state except that the tab still shows it is rooted when I check the firmware version ( I used super 1 click to root the Tab. Tried different ways to un-root. But the kernel still shows 'root'. If anyone knows how to completely unroot, please let me know. Thanks).
Since the original SIM card has been activated, I thought it might be better to flash the Tab again to JME and Bell modem. So, if I really want to use a SIM with voice plan, I can.
Flashing to Roto's JME v4 for the 2nd time was very easy again. I just followed the quick tutorial in this forum ( I did the re-partition. maybe it is not needed). Everything went smoothly. The only caveat is that I got the single bright line with black screen during booting for a couple of seconds.
Now, I am back on JME with Bell modem and original data-only SIM card. I set the APN to the settings for data-only SIM. The original SIM card just works.
I found a lot of ppl asking about flashing back to stock rom. I feel it may be useful to share my experience. Sorry for I didn't put the references to the posts regarding flashing and rooting.
Big thanks to Roto.
I do have a few questions for this whole process:
1. How to un-root?
2. I am now using the JME rom. I saw 2 APNs in the mobile network settings. 1 for AT&T activation used to activate the SIM with voice plan, another for ATT Broadband used by data-only SIM. The activation APN for SIM with voice keep coming back even after I deleted it. And it also seems it takes a lit too long in 'checking SIM' during booting. Does anyone know how to remove the activation APN?
I am afraid I can not answer your question however I do have a question for you. I am still running stock firmware and plan to upgrade soon. However would like to be able to get to same stock version I have now if possible. Can you list the baseband/firmware of the stock AT&T you obtained and rolled back to?

I used the Roto's stock ATT rom. The firmware version is xxxxUCJK1. I believe that is the right stock firmware version as I have also seem it been mentioned in various other websites.
Since you are still using the stock rom, it is good opportunity for you to back up everything:
Roto Backup - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850359
Thanks. That is the current version I am running. I will probably upgrade this week. I have already taken a Roto backup as well as used Titanium Backup. I also have screen shots of every screen I could bring up. I think I am all set; just need to pull the trigger and do it.

I was able to unroot with SuperOneClick, will now be flashing back to AT&T stock!
UPDATE 1 - Oops...Odin stays stuck at "SetupConnection", any tips on circumventing that? A search didn't find any fix for now :-(
UPDATE 2 - ok, started with ON+Volume down and Odin worked...BUT I get the AT&T splash screen and then it goes to the "recovery menu" (the one you get with ON+Volume Up")
The yellow lines read :

UPDATE 3 - taking the SIM card out solved that, phew !

[Q] S4 GT-I9505 LTE - Problem With Odin

Ok so i bought my new 16gb s4 yesterday after breaking the screen on my first a while back, after already rooting my first i jumped straight ahead and went to root the new one, once connected in odin i flashed the cwm recovery 6.0.3.2-4 before rooting but flashed it via phone instead of pda, now when the device boots up it wont accept any micro-sim tried one from both giffgaff (o2) and virgin both factory cut. It will not pick up on them no matter what i do, ive reflashed stock roms and now flashed foxhound 1.6 rom. Have i killed the sim reader on this phone and is there anything that can be done to fix it or should i just send it away on warranty?

[Q] your sim card does not allow a connection to this network galaxy s4

Hey all, just a few days ago my rooted Galaxy S4 SGH-i337m running KitKat 4.4.2 NE1 with Fido Canada suddenly said "Emergency Calls Only".
I rebooted it and it says :"your sim card does not allow a connection to this network". It has been working great for months until now. I have removed battery, sim card reset to factory, wiped cache and reloaded again. My sim card works fine in my Motorola RAZR, no problems whatsoever.
This is what I used with Odin:I337MVLUFNE1_I337MOYAFNE2_FMC. Still same issue. WiFi and everything else works just fine. APN is all fine also.
My S4 is not unlocked, just rooted ( but now it isnt after factory image reset.
Dunno what to do. I have even put a new Sim Card in but to no avail and it works also with my Motorola RAZR.
Any ideas??? Knox has been tripped so if I have to send it away, wonder how much it will cost?
Thanks
Kind of figured out that the NV/RUIM:SIM was messed up because my phone was picking up all the networks so it had to be something fairly simple. SO I downloaded Rogers KitKat from Firmware site ( so I thought ) and flashed it thru Odin 3.07. After it had finished and I had wiped my phone with Philz to load a new ROM I was shocked that it was Version 4.2.2!!!!
Now my connection is back, and the menu for unlocking the phone was all there so I did that while I was at it. Don't have another carriers Sim card to test it out but I followed instructions to a Tee and I am assuming that it worked.
Just have the WiFi/sound problems to deal with. I am ****ting car sized bricks as I thought you couldn't downgrade like that!!! I hope I can upgrade again as I had no problems with the 4.4.2.
Will search the Forums some more but in case anyone has the answer, please let me know as I am at work so time is limited.
Can I now load 4.4.2 Stock Fido Formware back onto my phone or will it totally screw up??? Knox was already tripped so I have nothing to lose

[Q] [Issue] Stuck in a weird situation of trying unlock i337m

Before you judge me by saying how i'm posting something thats done before, it hasn't, I've searched everywhere no methods work
Please, someone help me I've been at this for 4 days now and maybe just 15 hours of sleep :crying:.
The phone I have right now is the SGH-i337m Galaxy s4 running NC1 with MDJ modem (Kitkat 4.4.2) Does not detect sim, it says "No sim available".
I'm not exactly sure if the phone is from Bell but the phone use to be running fine on my old rogers sim card until I updated to their new ShareTap Sim.
With the ShareTap Sim the phone doesn't detect my sim anymore. So I tried my Share Tap Sim in another unlocked phone (Galaxy note 3) it worked fine.
Then I tried a Virgin mobile sim card on the S4 and it detected it and worked fine also. So then I tried to unlock it by flashing it with many different methods:
1. I tried flashing a older version of Bell 4.2.2 but it bricked my phone ( I already unbricked it back to 4.4.2)
2. I tried flashing the MDJ modem but it doesn't show the hidden menu.
3. I tried flashing ATT modem to try it but that also bricked my phone.
4. I tried to use the AWS tutorial shown here
5. I tried the regionlock away tutorial here in the third method (RegionlockAway doesnt do anything to my phone)
6. I pulled the modem.bin from the TAR file from sammobile of Bell's 4.2.2. But it still doesn't show the hidden menu! It's the MDJ modem but it still doesn't work!
I'm not sure whats wrong with my phone. When I put the Virgin mobile sim card in there it only shows Telus, EXT and Virgin Sim networks available not the whole spectrum which is what is supposed to happen with the 337_aws.qcn file from the AWS tutorial. Then when I flash MDJ modem from bell or the one from this dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2m3id2cx4l...37MVLUAMDJ.zip
It still doesn't show my secret menu.
The secret menu I'm trying to access is the *#0011# but if that didn't work I also tried the *#9090# It still doesn't show the secret menu. So what do I do now? Please Help!
Thanks for reading!
Sorry to hear that, but you are in the same situation i was, the phone was probably sim-unlocked by Box Software, like Octopus or Z3X Boxes as i did, the phone won't recognize some sim cards by unknown reasons, there is no fix avaliable for this as i changed imei, tried different NVM from other phone & even replacing sim card reader. i finally sold it & got myself a i337m unlocked via code.
Edit:
forgot to mention, My SIM stopped being recognized when i upgraded it to a newer LTE version
Kind regards.
Have you tried stock NC1 with the included modem? If the device is unlocked, you might have better success with SIM recognition. In my case, my device was not unlocked, so I Odin flashed stock Telus MDJ, then rooted with CF-Auto-Root, unlocked with RegionlockAway (KNOX tripped), and applied the AWS Mod.
Then I flashed stock NC1 with the incl. modem (root gone), and managed to get Rogers LTE and Wind H+ on the Telus device. From there, I OTA updated, and rooted with CF-Auto-Root, flashed TWRP, and worked my way to 5.0.1. Trust me I know how frustrating this can be, but thanks to this forum, there was a solution. Here's what worked for me (link). Good luck.

[Q] [SM-N910F][SOLVED] SIM removed error

After trying to install few custom ROMS namely DR. Ketans and SimplRom I experience SIM removed error problem.
The flashing goes fine with full factory reset (only internal SD is not wiped), I enter the PIN when I'm asked for it. The SIM is unlock but when the phone registers on the network it gives SIM removed error and forces a reboot.
I also upgraded the bootloader and the modem to the latest versions BL_N910FXXU1BOD2 and CP_N910FXXU1BOC4 but the problem remains the same.
When I restore back to the original ROM (backed up by TWRP) everything works fine. If dirty flash custom ROM over it again there are no problems with the SIM card.
The only conclusion is that T-Mobile has some additional software installed.
The phone is SM-N910F bought from T-Mobile. It has T-Mobile branding on boot and shutdown.
Does anyone now anything about this ?
To update it with my own research.
Apparently the SIM card is lock to Macedonia region. MBM CSC. When installing custom ROM the CSC gets changed and the phone rejects the SIM.
In an effort to resolve this I've flashed DE DBT CSC ROM and the phone won't accept my SIM card.
Currently I'm downloading the original T-Mobile MKD firmware and I hope by restoring it that I will be able to use the phone again.
Also since I paid for the phone in full I intend to contact T-Mobile tomorrow and ask them to unlock my phone.
Will write what comes out of this. Don't want someone else to lose their nerves as I did today
Definitely the issue was in wrong CSC. I've downloaded the original firmware and everything worked again.
But I couldn't stay put and wanted to flash a custom ROM so I went with http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-bob4-devbase-multi-csc-safe-bloat-t3033881.
It's a great base ROM stripped of Knox and de-bloated. Most importantly it keeps your current CSC intact.
The procedure was:
Flash original firmware with Odin,
Root with CF-Auto root
Flash TWRP recovery with Odin
Reset data so that it completely goes stock because flashing the original firmware doesn't reset data
At this point I made full nandroid backup
Flash ALEXAND ROM
Uninstall additional bloatware
So far it's working fine.
I hope that this will help someone.
