Yoga Book seemingly bricked itself - Lenovo Yoga Book Questions & Answers

Every now and then I break out my Yoga Book to install something on it or just play with it. I've been getting it ready for school, just seeing what I'm able to accomplish on it.
Well, for the past few days, it just wont turn on. No screen activity, nothing. Just a pulsing LED light by the charger. When it's plugged in the lights starts going, when it's unplugged the light stops. I can hold the power button down for about 30 seconds, and the light will start going again while it's unplugged. If I do the same while it is plugged in, the light will stop.
Holding down the power button on my Yoga Book to see what the light does is now the extent of it's use. Has anyone been through this? Thanks for reading.

Does it vibrate when connect to the USB? Mine does a strange thing every now and then. It drains itself by boot looping, never getting in to android. The only way to fix it when that happens. Is to plug it in a USB port on my laptop, this trickle charges it without it trying to boot. When it has enough charge, boot in to recovery. Then clear the cache. After this it should boot and charge normally. At least until the next time.
Not sure it's the same thing but worth a try.

TPT won't power on?

Hi all,
My TPT this morning for some weird reason stopped turning on. I plugged it into my dock. When it's in the off state it shows the charging logo. But when I go and turn it on, the screen stays black with no Lenovo bootup logo. The red dot in the back of the tablet however, is on when I switch it on. I initially thought that the power drained but I've been charging it for an hour and it still doesn't boot up. Any suggestions? Thanks
Press the tiny button next to the SD-card and then try and start the TPT. You might be in bootloader.
Otherwise, maybe your display cable became disconnected inside. Easy to do or fix if you've opened it up.

Tried resetting, no dice.
Also I don't think its a display problem. Since when its off and I plug it into my dock the charging logo does show up for 5 seconds. Also, when I turn it on, there's no vibrate that the TPT usually does. I noticed that the red light only stays on for maybe 10 seconds then goes dim again

Okay so this is definitely weird. I just plugged it into my PC and via USB and it actually started up! But when I unplug it from my PC it acts the same as before... battery indicates a full charge in android though...

[Q] NST False Empty Battery

I've had my NST Glowlight for roughly a year (so the warranty's run out). I haven't used it since October or so, and when I tried to charge and boot it recently, it doesn't do anything. When I plug it in, the green LED immediately turns on, and if I wiggle the charging cable a bit, it'll turn to amber, but no matter what I do, the thing won't turn on. However, the backlight will work (for as long as it's plugged in; the backlight will turn back off after about 30 seconds if I unplug it). I've taken off the back panel to have a look at the battery. It seems fine: the positive and negative terminals read ~4.10V, and like I said, the backlight works. I've also tried all of the standard reset things such as holding the power button for 20-30 seconds, holding both the power and the N button for 20-30 seconds, leaving the battery unplugged for a while then trying to charge it, trying to charge it for a long period of time (about 6-8 hours).
In any case, nothing I've tried has worked, and I'm starting to get frustrated. The other two times this has happened, I could just return it and get a new one, but now that that warranty's gone, I'd have to buy a new one, which I'm not really all that willing to do.
If anyone has any ideas or insight, I'd be very grateful. Thank you in advance.
A voltmeter on the battery with no load might be a red herring.
A 100 ohm to 1K should be enough of a load.
A Nook without a battery will refuse to boot, however it will pop up in bootloader mode for a bit.
If you just plug in a USB cable does it popup on your PC "New device found"?

[Q] Is my Nexus 4 dead? What can I do to recover it?

Hi,
A few days ago my nexus 4 stopped working on me, I haven't found anyone having an identical issue so far.
Essentially, my phone does not turn on any more. I have tried holding volume down and power and this produces nothing. The only thing I can get is the red LED turning on if I hold power for about 10 seconds with it plugged in, it lingers a bit if I release power., but immediately turns off if unplugged.
It stopped working while it was plugged in and at about 60% battery, I had not had any problems with the device in the past, it worked flawlessly up to that moment. The device was running stock without any third party firmware.
Does anyone know what happened, and what I can do about it? I somewhat suspect a battery issue but I'm not sure, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi, I'm having the exact same issue. My Nexus 4 (stock Lollipop 5.0, not rooted) died while the battery was 80% full, and the phone was charging. Shortly before it died, it restarted several times within a few hours. The phone doesn't respond to power button, neither it responds to power/volume button combination. When the phone is connected to a charger, nothing happens - no LED, no screen. If the phone is connected to a charger, and I press the power button (or power/volume) for >10s, LED starts blinking in red. The blinking pattern is weird - it blinks steadily 10 times, and gives one short blink. Any suggestions? Or any hope to get the data out?
You can possibly fix this by holding either power up or down for 15+ seconds and then connect the phone to a computer with USB. This has worked for me.
The problem might be that the battery is dying, because I've only had this problem when I've let the battery discharge, and then turned it on again. It's probably a mechanism to protect the battery from becoming "too" discharged, which might break it.
Everytime I had this in the past, I was able to fix by plugging into a very high powered charger (1000mA <) and holding down vol up + power. Eventually, it seems to trickle charge and then start. Once it's started, give it 20 seconds to get a boost then switch it on.

Droid/Milestone 2 does not power up

Hello.
This is a long shot, but i'm going to ask it anyway...
Some years ago I owned a Droid/Milestone 2, that decided to die apparently.
After a bit of searching, I decided to purchase the XT1058 I currently use and forgot about the droid.
But I've found it again lying around, and tried to start it with no success...
On its finals days, if for some reason you needed to reboot the phone, it would take some minutes for it to power up again. Once it was up and running, it was just fine.
Until some day, minutes became hours, hours into days, and the phone never worked again. While it was in this state, nothing appeared on the screen.
It was just dead... And then, after a minute or so, after pressing the power button, it would boot up and everything would be ok.... until the next reboot at least...
Now, if I connect it to the USB port, the white led on the side stays on. It's not recognized by windows nor RSD, but if you leave it like that, Windows makes the sound of an USB device connection, a few seconds pass and the sound of usb desconnection appears. So there seems to be a bit of life (not much)
I cannot charge the battery because when I connect the charger, white led by the charging port is not on.
It only stays on if I remove the jack just a bit, so it's not fully seated. I do not think it's battery related since when it died I tried different batteries...
Holding the power button does not do anything...
Question is, do you see any hope on this enterprise?. Idea would be to have this as a backup...
Or should I just throw it away?.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know how many people are still using these, but I have a solution to this that doesn't involve opening up the tablet or anything else invasive.
The problem is that the screen stays on and drains the battery too quickly before android has a chance to fully boot, so it dies and then starts up again. So you want to let it charge as much as possible with the screen off, before finally letting it boot.
The way I do this is to plug the tablet into my laptop (for whatever reason this technique doesn't work with the wall charger), and then hold the power button down for like 5 minutes. Don't let go of the power button, just hold it down.
After the initial 30 seconds, the tablet will go into a boot loop of having the display on for about 2 seconds, and then off for about 10 seconds. The battery is charging during that 10 seconds, and the 2 seconds of display time isn't enough to fully drain it. Just keep holding that power button. After 5 or so minutes of this, once the display comes on just let the power button go. It should boot up completely into android and dim the screen (but hit the power button to turn off the display once it's fully booted up, just in case).
Android should now be slowly charging, and the lock screen will say it's at 0% or 1% and charging slowly. Just leave it alone and it will fully charge. After a minute it's usually got enough power to quickly switch from the laptop charger to the wall charger, if that's your preferred charging method.
