Help Activating Dark Theme With Tasker - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi! I'm trying to turn on/off dark theme based on the time of day, so I have a tasker profile set to night mode (the blue light filter that CAN be based on time).
When night mode is on = oem_black_mode is set to '1'.
Exit action sets it to '0'
The only problem is that when night mode turns on it doesn't do anything, except oddly enough in setting it will say dark theme but will still be light. I also tried changing oem_black_mode in set table editor and had the same result.
How can I activate dark theme? What line do I use? Or is they're any other way? I rather not use autoinput....
Thanks!

Camera auto white balance

Hi!
Is it just me or it is by default that the camera application does not choose the correct white balance when set to "Auto"?
It always uses the last white balance setting, I mean if I set it to Daylight, then set back to Auto, it will work in daylight mode, and will not correct the white balance if I go into a fluorescent area. I have to manually choose Fluorescent. Then if I set it back to Auto, it will display Auto, but keep working in fluorescent mode, that is, when going back to sunlight, it will not realize that it should change the WB settings.
As far as I remember, other Pocket PCs of mine did not have this issue. If I chose Auto, they set the WB automatically all the time, and these Fluorescent, Daylight etc settings existed only to let me correct if the Auto setting did not choose the best WB.
Others, do you also have this problem?

Screen Brightness widget

Evening all
I'm after a widget so i can dim the screen more easily than dropping into setting after setting.
There's loads i hear you shout..
Well all i've tried set the screen nice and dim for the screen only to getting brighter again as soon as the app is closed. I've tried it with auto adjust brightness on and off and all allow the system to revert back to the initial brightness set.
Help before the wife kills me while i midnight browse in bed.
All of the widgets i have used do the same thing as you describe. The 'Toggle Settings' app works fine for me though.
EDIT: no it doesn't. Arse.
yup tried that and failed lol
also tried making a short cut to the systems settings for brightness but failed on that as well.
Noticed something possibly odd about this- The brightness scales on Toggle Settings and in the actual settgngs menu have a different scale. It's possible to make the TOggle Settings app say that you have minus 10% brightness.
I've no idea if that helps
anything new about this? i tried some, but they all changed the brightness for a short time, and then the hero changed it back

ASUS can do so much with their Splendid display tuning app!

The Blue Light Filter mode can replace 3rd party apps like cf.lumen, Twilight and Lux's night mode. It's a stock method of customizing the display color temperature.
ASUS should copy a leaf from cf.lumen's book and add the capability to automatically calculate sunset by your GPS coordinates and turn BLF mode on at night! Later at night they can add option to automatically change color temperature to more red tones (i.e. setting the BLF mode slider all the way to the right) like cf.lumen's sleep mode!
Thanks to Splendid display tuning, I no longer have cf.lumen installed. But! I do miss the convenience of automating things. Having the display tuner widget in quick settings is nice but no cigar!
Similarly when bright sunlight detected, the Splendid app could have option to turn vivid mode on.
Cyanogenmod12 and by extension CyanogenOS12 already has both these options (night mode and CABC for bright sunlight mode similar to vivid) available in their display options settings.
Perhaps these suggestions should be forwarded to Asus...as they seem to be set on providing timely updates to the phone(awesome), they might listen. I do like the Splendid app.
I agree. And now that we have this option: @Asus_USA
Maybe a rep here would forward the suggestion?

Click to collapse
Timed profiles for Splendid would be great. A more effective colour temperature adjustment, coupled with a considerably lower minimum screen brightness on a hardware level would make this phone SO much more usable for late-night reading.

How to disable dark themed Google widgets

Google calendar and Google keep widgets turned to dark theme on latest update. I'm on stock 8.1.0 Oreo unrooted. There is no dark mode option in display settings to turn on/off. The is no dark mode option in developers options to turn on/off. Any solution to go back to light theme?
When I launch the apps, the theme is light. Only widgets are dark themed.
In the stock phone app when I go to settings->display options, it says "dark mode in device settings is on" with blurred letters and toggled on, and it won't let me turn it off.

unable to remove the stock night mode

Hey everyone!
So I used to be on Android pie stock before switching to the Mi 9T. I activated their night mode which change the colors slightly during a certain period of time (just like lecture mode in MIUI).
However, this setting has been synchronised with this phone and I want to remove it, but there's no settings for the stock one in MIUI...
Is it possible to find the stock settings for this ?
Thanks in advance!
Here's the solution:-
Download system ui tuner from the playstore.
Give it the permissions it need using command prompt.
You can see some new options in your notification panel which is 'night mode' at click it when the yellow light turn's on.
