iPhone...FOOOOOL!!
Smoothness, the GSII simply cannot get any smoother. iOS no longer has the upper hand on Android, at least on the GSII.
http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2/346712-there-better-sgs2-deal-than-uk.html
Have a read. It's laid out some deals for the phone on contract.
cant wait till i buy my my sgs 2
Asking this question here most will say buy the samsung!
Since you have owned both operating systems I guess you should base the decision on that. I for one can't go back to iOS, find android much better! Plus flash very handy for watching videos online.

I can't go back to iOS for a daily driver. I can use it as a gaming device if I needed to. The camera on the i4 is good, too. But I love my SGS2
Hi dear,
I'm going to get either Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note.
The price difference between them is quite big..
GS2 is 730 NZD and Galaxy Note is 1199 NZD(as its just released?)
Do you think galaxy note has that much worthy?
What do think guys?
Hi,
I think it depends on what you want. I have my Note since todays morning and I can say its more of a small tablet than a mobile phone.
I like it relay much because I use it mainly as a internet device as I did with my nexus one before.
Try to get hands on both devices and decide after that.

Im just impressed the resolution of GNote.
Is it as clear as iPhone 4 on browser?
Or when you read some books?

I got the note for 550 euro (950~ nzd) so not sure where you get the huge price tag from. I have both the G2 and the Note and no matter what you use it for the Note is better. The huge screen is so pleasant for anything and if you do not own a tablet it is definitely worth it the extra 150~ euro.

Oh really?
There is only one shop selling note.
Probably I shouldn't purchase anytime soon..
And I own iPad 2 so.. Probably better wait until ppl review..
Also I saw the ICS will come to Note and S2 between in April and June next year.
It's my biggest concern... Should I get galaxy nexus?
Which is faster
I want to compare them from the performance point of view which is faster?

what about the performance which one is better
Note has a faster processor so in benchmarks it's faster. Thing is both are so fast I doubt it matters. Maybe ICS has higher hardware requirements and then the notes processor upgrade might help.

In fact, they use exactly the same processor, the only difference is that on note the voltage is higher so you can get a little more mhz at the cost of battery. The SII with any mod can have the same speed.

Welcome fellow Kiwi!
I assume you are looking at MobiCity for that $1200 ($1180 right this second) pricetag? For comparison, the Galaxy SII was $1120 on day one from MobiCity, so it's not that bad.
Buuut, you can order it from Expansys for NZ$1,074 shipped and save a hundred bucks.
Basically, if you like big screens and styli, the Note blows away the SII. If you really don't mind the screen size/res, then it's just a jumbo-sized SII with a CPU speed bump to match.

Hello mate!
But I'm not Kiwi. I'm Korean who is just studying in NZ
anyway, thank you for welcoming! haha
The shop I reserve for Galaxy Note is H2phone, not mobicity.
I saw that if I ordered it from mobicity, I might have to pay for tax to NZ custom.. so I would be around 1300!! Too expensive
Actually, yeah Note is more attractive to me than GS II due to the screen resolution and slightly different design!

Even if you're not born a Kiwi, I can still claim you for our country's forum representation.
Never heard of H2Phone, actually. It was $1199 on Mobicity a day or two ago, so I assumed that was where you got the price. You make a good point about GST though. Including GST, the Expansys price is about $1235 shipped, and Clove would be about $1160. Pity I'm based in Christchurch - I'd love to be able to grab one for an even $1200 from H2Phone.
And yes, the gigantic screen on the Note is a major factor - since it would effectively replace a tablet too, and has pen input, I'm willing to shell out a bit more for it, $1200 is about my limit though. Unless the 32GB Galaxy Nexus ends up being considerably cheaper.

Hey mate!
You are so sweet! Thanks for good info.
I found one auction on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/32078378918...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1287
It is selling Galaxy Nexus 32gb for only 640 USD including shipping!!!
I think I'd better wait for it.. but one problem is that
I'm going back to my home country, Korea on the 8th of Nov so
If I can't get it before the 8th, I won't be able to get it this year...t.t
as I do not want my parents to know that I spent too much money for a phone haha
anyway.... I also think the S-pen is so unique and worthy with GNote but the price..... I guess it will be dramatically dropped once I will be back to NZ.
What do you think mate?
If you were me, what would you do?
Get galaxy note on Monday morning or order galaxy nexus to Korea?
one more option... getting iPhone 4S?
Please advice me fellow!

I'd get the Galaxy Note.
At the moment, no one really knows how much the 32GB (or even 16GB) Nexus will cost, but it will probably be about NZ$1100-1150 since the 16GB model is being pegged at $1040, and won't be out for at least 3 weeks.
The Note has a bigger screen, higher res, (probably) faster CPU+GPU, and pen input for about $50 more. Not to mention dedicated buttons on the Note so you have more usable screen space all of the time.
On the other hand, the Nexus has Ice Cream Sandwich now instead of 2-3 months from now, and faster updates, it has a faster camera and.. that's about it. Unless the price comes out significantly cheaper than the Note, the Note is the better buy to me.
As for the iPhone 4S, it has a 3.5" screen. You can't get anything done on such a tiny, girly screen.
Sjael: Cool!
I made my decision. Tomorrow morning I'm gonna get Note
Yeah in terms of the spec of the Note, 2-3months or even longer doesn't really matter for ICS. Anyway it'll be surely getting it and it will look gorgeous on Note!
I have purchased so many apps in AppStore that's why I was considering to get iPhone 4s but I have iPad 2 so it'll be okay.
Thank you for really helpful advice Sjael!
Hope we can see in NZ some time soon
irrespective of what crap all are saying,,you must try galaxy note yourself,,try it yourself first,,it's too big{and i mean too big} for me,hardware is great but it's not a thing you will like to be your daily phone,,its very big so try it yourself before comparing it with anything else

Hey, I have one question..
In the other thread, the owners of GNote said it's laggy compared to Galaxy S2, is it right?
And as I said before, i play Internet with my phone quite often so the size of the Note doesn't really matter to me.
Please just let me know if it's too buggy and slower than galaxy s2.

Unfortunately it's not so easy to try it first in New Zealand, where phones typically come out 9-12 months later (if at all) than in the US/Europe, unless you import them.

Absolutely correct
This reminds me of what Sammie did with the P6800 a couple of years back when they abandoned the P6800 withing a year of it's launch.
As there looks like there will never be a 32gb 8.4 Pro and there isn't currently a 32gb 8.4 S I'm sitting on the fence.
I have to say Sammies constant morass of new products without anything approaching a coherent product replacement cycle, combined with their lack of support in 'walking away' from existing relatively new products does mean I think hard before spending money on their tabs.

Its sad, considering I still see tab pros in shops etc.
are there any new features software wise that is in Tab S ?
Are you expecting Samsung to update the Pro less than a year after the product launched? It was launched in February, just 7 months ago. Most of their products refresh annually. What makes you think they've abandoned it?

what do you mean "refresh annually". do you mean we should only be getting OS and firmware updates once a year???
Hardware.
I guess people think they abandoned it because the Tab S came out so quickly (4 months?) after the Tab PRO, and many vendors (at least in Canada) stopped selling the Tab PRO and switched to the Tab S.
Also, after NG1, firmware updates for the Tab PRO seem to have really dwindled. And yet, there are still quite a few outstanding issues with this tablet that need to be resolved...
I plan on selling my 8.4 pro as soon as nexus 9 comes out. I would have gotten a nexus 10 but I am not interested in an exynos.
Overall it is a nice tab, but battery life is quite poor. And I really don't like the game leather back. Fun while it lasted but Craigslist here it comes..
I'm glad the S came out and dropped the price of the Pro. I won't spend $400 on a tablet, so I never would've got this great tablet if the S never was released.

Me too, i never should buy the pro 12.2 for +500 euro and last Sunday i got it for 329,75 euro brand new in the box, do we still here in the Netherlands have to pay a bit more than US or Canadian dollar?
I'm so happy with this huge Tab
happy here
I'm happy too.
Bought the tabpro 8.4 for only 230 euro's, I also would never spend 300/400/500 on a tablet.
Size is excellent, battery for me lasts about 3 to 4 days on normal use and 2 days on heavier usage.
I use my Phone for a lot of things and in the evening sitting on the couch I use a tablet.
Facebook, Telegram, browsing,. asphalt 8, multiwindow it works great, no hickups. I did tweak the rom.
It does it all so why complain?:good:
I've been pretty happy with my Pro 8.4. It nicely compliments my Note 3 which has a tiny 5.7 inch screen!
Yeah, I'm seeing it for $279 in the U.S. More than $100 less than the Tab S. But I agree with the worry that it may not see an Android L update for example, despite being less than a year old. Samsung is slow to update. Took about 6 months to get 4.4 on my Note 10.1, and despite it still being a current model, I wouldn't be surprised if they never do L. I'm looking for a smaller tablet to replace a 1st-gen Nexus, but I think I'll keep waiting for the Nexus 9 before I jump.
I think we'll get Android L eventually. The Tab Pro is closely modeled after the Note 3, and that device is bound to get Android L. Although news came out today that Samsung transferred 500 engineers from the mobile division to the other areas (appliances and TVs?).

I've been running CM11 since I got it, and I know there will be a CyanogenMod version of Android L so I'm not worried about it.
I just got mine for 230 euros! The Tab S is 400! What what WHAT!?
I'm sure Samsung will update sooner or later, but it's no longer their premium tablet, so... We shouldn't expect SPEEDY updates!

I did the same for a re-furb from Rakuten (Techbargains has the link).
As others have said, I hope this gets Android L. My goal is a 2-year life replacing my wife's 1st gen Nexus 7.
How do you guys like the 8.4"? In landscape mode, the buttons are where your hand would be. That seems like an issue if you wanted to play a game in landscape mode.
Hi guys, I hope that my question won't cause any problem. My name is Ariel, I'm from Argentina and I will be visiting NYC in a few days.
Currently I own an iPhone 6 (2 years old almost) and my idea is to replace it. I was considering to get the 7 Plus but I saw the price (almost 900 dollars with a case and after taxes) and that made me consider another option.
I saw that the S7 Edge is 600 bucks on B&H right now (the Exynos international version) and with that price difference I can get an iPad mini for college (I´m an engineering student and I use a lot of books, pdfs and powerpoints) so it would be a nice gadget to complement my activities.
Te question is: the S7 Edge is still worth it? I mean, is still a good smartphone? I´m willing to change to Android, I like both OS and I´m not an Apple fanboy so is not a big problem to change iOS.
I apologize for my English, which is not the best! Thank you all and I wish you a happy new year
Well, yeah. It's still right up there as one of the best Android has to offer. Your only issue in transferring to Android may be iMessage, but as you'll be getting an iPad it may not be a problem. You just have to send pictures via the iPad instead of the phone.
