I've gotten about 6.5 hours of screen on time. With it at 120hz and playing a lot of games. I'll have to chart my display next time. Though gaming tends to drain it a bit quicker.

It is a 6k battery i thought it would last long !
Lots of gaming and the screen set to 120hz while getting 6.5hrs is pretty impressive to me. Especially when you consider I don't play games on my phone at all. Can't wait to see the screen time I'll be getting. Can't wait for next week!

What did you do in those 3h and 40min SOT? Gaming? YouTube?
I see AdGuard drains a lot of battery on your phone too..

How is batterylife with "normal usage?" Watching YouTube, checking Facebook, gaming a little, etc.
I usually do like a solid hour or so of gaming and have my screen on at work to watch YouTube videos and podcasts so for an 8 hour day my screen is on, I work 7/4 and make it home with about 45% left. Then I more or less use steam link until about 10pm, forget to charge my phone and wake up with my phone at like 18ish percent left.

Got any pictures of battery-usage without any (or just a little gaming)? I just want to see how batterylife is when using it "as a normal phone." Maybe just 60/90hz too?
Yeah here we are. Now I'm about to game until the phone hits 9%
This is with the screen set to 90hz
The battery life on this phone is incredible!! I'm now sitting at 1 day and 4 hours off the charger, with 7 hours and 5 minutes of screen on time, and I STILL have 53% battery remaining! That includes a couple hours of emulator gaming as well. Brightness has generally been around 50% (though adaptive brightness is on so it fluctuates up and down), and screen has been set to 120hz most of that time. WiFi on, Bluetooth on, mobile data on, location on, no battery saving modes set.
Can attest to this. 9 hours and going strong. Going to game until the end of night and check in. 120hz medium brightness.
Update to my previous post above:
Phone finally died! Final battery stats before it died was two full days off the charger (48+ hours), 13 hours of screen on time, including several hours of emulator gaming. WiFi on, Bluetooth on, Mobile data on, location on, mix on 90hz and 120hz screen setting, 50% brightness with adaptive brightness on. I was just using my phone as normal the entire time, I was NOT trying to stretch the battery life as long as possible.

Hi,
Don't know if this is the right thread to ask this question.
I have less than 10 post as of the moment so please forgive if i cannot add an image.
I have the CN version which I converted to WW (PKQ1.190414.01)
All is working well except for the SoT of the device. Google Play services is eating a big bulk of my battery.
As of this posting my battery percentage is at 70% with google play services at the top of the list for the most battery drain @ 11% and screen usage is only 5%.
I did not do any gaming only social media for about 45 mins and youtube for 2 hrs.
Can anybody give me advice? thanks!
Steps currently taken:
-clear cache of google play services
-remove account auto sync
-disabled location services

Have you tried rebooting? This seems a little high, but not unreasonable battery drain if using high brightness and mostly using data.
Looking forward to trying out the battery today. Last night my son and I both played on a Razer Phone 2 and an iPhone XS. He was playing the latter - some Apple Arcade racing game that worked for a 3 year old; I was playing Asphalt on the RP2. Battery on the iPhone XS got hammered pretty quickly. The Razer was solid, but holy cow it got wicked hot.

Yeah that's high. I'm currently sitting at 71% battery on my ROG Phone 2 (same model as yours) and Google Play Services has only used 1% of that battery according to the built in battery page. I'd say, if you told the phone to restore apps and settings from a previous device during setup, you have a rogue app that got copied over or installed that's eating battery via Google Play Services...

I got a refurb Note 10.1 2014 from Groupon about a month ago. The battery life has been poor but I didn't use it enough to quantify it. I got home form work today and it was at 65%. After exactly an hour of use, it told me it was about to die at 5%. I can literally watch the battery percentage tick down while writing an email or browsing the web. Is this normal? I've had 11 android phones but this is my first tablet, I've never seen performance this poor.
This is my issue with android devices. If you are not an above average user and know how to trouble shoot to find what app or apps is causing your battery drain you will be left thinking the device itself is not good, when it's probably a wakelock or some background app killing your battery.
My device has good battery life. I wish it would do better with simple Internet browsing, but watching videos and other tasks are great in my opinion.
My advice, try to find if your issue is software related. After ruling that out, the only option is that out must be hardware related.

I found the battery poor for the first couple of weeks. I gave it a full charge, took it off a couple of mins after 100% each time, only letting it drain down to about 15%. I was getting about 6 hours on screen time without power hungry games.
Then a few days ago drained it full, and charged it over night, now getting 9-10hours on screen time - mainly web surfing, watching full hd film streamed off home servers and low power games (5's.....far too addictive and simple). This also includes some use streaming bluetooth to wireless speaker with screen off, so at least another hour use on top of the 10 but with the screen off.
I'm about like redsurf. 6-10 hours of screen-on depending what you are doing with it. If you are only getting 2-3 hours there is something wrong. You can check under power in the tools/settings menu to see what is eating your power. If it is a program, kill the task. If it is the screen (more than 50% any time I have checked) and you are only getting 2-3 hours, definitely something wrong.
Oh, also try turning down brightness.

Funny enough, I probably have my screen brightness set to between 10% and 25% and rarely ever need it to be turned up any higher than that.
By rooting and disabling alot of bloat stuff I get an additional 1-2 hours out of my note 10.1. Just saying
I'm sure there could be a software issue, but even if i was gaming at full brightness with 40 background apps (I don't), 2 hours is unacceptable and probably defective.

Battery doesn't drain that much, but I've only tested it for a day so far so I may update this in the future
Manage all apps automatically & smart display
5:48 @ 04% ~ 3.63 minutes to drain 1%
4:08 @ 18% ~ 3.02
2:19 @ 53% ~ 2.96
3:51 @ 29% ~ 3.25
4:29 @ 17% ~ 3.24
Same as above then towards the end of the day switched to 720p & auto manage apps off
5:11 @ 21% ~ 3.93
720p & auto manage apps off
7:14 @ 11% ~ 4.88
I think this is more because of the aggressive ram management when manage all apps is on, and what seems to be a bug with smart display. Restarting apps so many times must drain battery. I will try tomorrow at QHD+ and see the SOT
Also worth noting I do not game, I listen to a lot of music (most of the working day) and stream YouTube to and from work I have over 100 installed apps and 6 messaging apps which I switch to frequently. I have news apps that refresh every hour on data or mobile.
standby drain seems a lot over night about 2x the mah than the OnePlus 6 that I have
Barely need to look for a charger thru out the day
Amazing .
Is yours a Boe or LG screen?
QUOTE=Darkat70;78334851]Amazing .[/QUOTE]
Mine is a BOE screen, 18B02.
Pretty awesome to get that SOT, with 43% battery left. I used my GPS for 30 minutes, watched about 20 minutes of YouTube, 30 minutes of Slotomania game.
On standby I lose about 5% battery in 7 hours or so.
Agreed. I am absolutely loving the battery life on this thing, it insane how much heavy usage 1 Charge cycle can take.
I average around 7-8hours SOT, sometimes 9hours and that's with the screen set to 60% Brightness. Absolutely insane, and it just keeps chugging along.

SOT on LG panel. Truly amazing at more than 6 hours with 40% juice left.
How you get like 8h-9h sot? Usually i have 5.30
i have 3h... how is possible? xD
Hi I get about 6 hours ost is that good.? I have brightness on about 90% and WiFi on at all times I have seen ppl get 7-8 hours ost should I keep manage apps automatically on or turn it off any advice appreciated guys
This bad boy is killing all phones when it comes to battery life..
Here are my stats.
Today was a heavy use day so I only got just over a day of use. I usually get about 2 days before needing to charge. So either one day at 9h SoT or two days at 7h30 SoT, I guess it depends which apps I use too. I try to charge above 5% and stop at 95%.
WQHD+, auto manage apps on, dark theme everywhere I can, never have both wifi and 4G on at the same time and am in Airplane mode during the night to limit battery drain (very effective, I never lose more than 3-5%).
I do a lot of web browsing, a bit of gaming and YouTube, and Facebook/Messenger are probably running in the background and are used a lot.
I rarely have brightness above 50%, except for videos. I mostly stay between 15 and 50%.
System update .153
I noticed that my battery life isn't as good as it was with ly first mate 20 pro that was equipped with an LG display. Since i got my replacement using a BOE screen, battery drains faster. I still manage to get 6/7h of SOT so i'm not complaining but it was better before
BOE screen here, power save mode, 1080p forced resolution gives me 12+ hrs SOT.
Same settings on S7Edge got me 8 hrs...but then again, that battery is 3 years old, therefore around 82% capacity.
Happy camper so far.
The stats i gave were achieved with the exact same settings as i used with the LG equipped one. I used to have 1/2h more of SOT
Battery life is just too good and with the new update 152 makes it even better S

Loving the battery life. I have the XT1955-2 dual sim, I believe its for the Mexican/Latin market. After using it for 5 days and giving it a few full charges, I'm having no problems getting 12 hours of screen on time. Right now I'm at 54% with a screen on time 7 hours and 54 minutes. Yeah the phone has some short comings, I bought for the battery life and it is exceding my expectations. Wonder what the single sim phone will do.
What apps do you use? Do you keep gps or Bluetooth on? Is most usage on wifi or LTE?
Impressive Battery
I have bought Moto G7 Power too, the European Model. Its battery life is impressive really! I keep open 4G at all times and I get about 14 hours of SOT.
I am sorry in advance not trying to insult or anything when it comes to battery life of any smartphones in general
But under heavy usage. How long can this phone last?
I'll be travelling soon so i need the longest battery possible
=============================================
If anyone is kind enough to conduct one test on this device
There is an app called "photorealism benchmark 2018" (very heavy GPU infinite test)
If someone can download this free and let the phone run from 100% > 0% with around 30% brightness on WIFI and see
I doubt it can last more than 5 hours of screen on time running this app

Hey there. Did you use any particular App to save battery life?
And how would you discribe your usage pattern?
Any special apps on daily, heavy usage?
I got around 5 hours SOT right now and fully charged around 24 hours ago with 60% juice left.
I feel like my battery life is a bit weaker than your experience. Or do I overreact ?

What kind of SOT type tho?
Just Youtubing and social media? 5000 mah can last hours / offline watching video via internal player can get this more than 15 hrs of SOT i think with 5000 mah?
What about under heavy usage like running GRAPHIC BENCHMARK continously?
35 hours on a charge
8.5 hrs SOT
Around 6 hrs at 100% brightness
More than happy with this phone. Especially at only $212.00

In my opinion Watching Youtubes / Social Media / WhasApp / Browsing do not drain the battery that much
Only running GPU or ALwAYs 3D GRAPHIC ON counts towards depleting the battery.
IF you can download photorealism 2018 free and using that app to drain your battery from 100% with 40% brightness you will see
Doubt anyphone with 5000 mAh can pass 6 hours SOT mark

Yes GCam is perfectly working, more info here
Closest to dead I've gotten mine is 42%.
Auto brightness, with brighter bias.
12hrs 48mins SOT
4hrs light gaming, 4hrs heavy gaming, Spotify the whole time, Reddit and forums, and 2hrs live TV.
My wallpaper is Sachs Marine Aquarium (photo realistic Aquarium). And yes, I stare at the fish sometimes. Quite relaxing.
No wifi, no Bluetooth. Some downloads, some app updates.
No phone calls. Minimal texting.

Very cool info so far in my opinion SIR for SOT of an smartphone
But, i was hoping you did super heavy usage of SOT
Hey guys i've played pubg from 100% battery to 0% (with high quality settings) + 50% screen brightness Plus example GPS all other features turned on in the background. ... etc
Additionally with multitasking in the backgrounds too.
Heavy usage?
Does this count?
4hrs MarioKart Tour, 2hrs TinyTower, 4hrs TV, 3hrs Reddit, Instagram and other social apps for another 2hrs.
I'm at 38%
80% brightness
GPS always on (testing weather in Kustom)
And about an hour in Kustom editor.
Live wallpaper at 60fps
Sometime soon, I plan on seeing how long this will do vr. That ought to be enough for a decent battery drain test
EDIT
Running this device around 70-80% of it's max speed seems to be the point where the battery starts to drain. What I mean is, pushing this device hard results in almost normal draining (compared to a standard battery size). Light to moderate usage seems to have no effect on the battery life, but larger more demanding tasks that push it clearly drain the battery. I'm trying to explain the battery barely drops until a big game is loaded. Then it drops slowly (but quick compared to light usage). I anticipate getting 8hrs of real gaming (psx emu) and still 8hrs light use.
For those who are rooted using Magisk, can you try the the FDE.AI module for a week or so and see if you are getting better battery life. I'm seeing some noticable improvement.
One last SOT update from me:
5hrs12mins Stardew Valley with max brightness and volume
Bluetooth Controller
1hr internet browsing
1hr social media
'8hrs 13mins Screen Usage Since Last Full Charge'
50% remaining
'11hrs remaining'
Feels safe to assume 12hrs SOT for me...
i want to buy that phone is the battery really good u get always about 5h screen on?
can anyonye upload pics from screen on

10+ hours SoT (12 or so full battery) on 60hz mostly browsing chrome, average brightness. I don't do 120hz, period, only reason I'd use it is if a phone didn't have any lower option. I think 120hz looks weird so there's no reason for me personally to waste the battery for it.
Not sure how 120hz would work out
Edit: now getting 12-14 hours SoT 100-0 after having the phone for over a week

Hi there. May I ask how you are getting 10+ hours of SoT? Were there some settings you adjusted to achieve such phenomenal SoT? I'm losing a lot of battery even when I don't use it.
I use 60Hz refresh rate as well, browse chrome, and low brightness as well. Heck, I don't have any social media apps refreshing in the background, only mail and messaging apps occasionally giving me notifications.
Thanks.

Well I use 60hz and battery saver is on pretty much all the time. (don't use ultra battery saver though, it basically just breaks your phone and messes up settings)
Don't turn the brightness up higher than you need it. Use wifi whenever possible. Turn location/Bluetooth off when not in use.
Not sure of anything else that helps.

Thanks for the tips.
I used to have battery saver on, but it seems like it bogs down notifications, or maybe it was because I didn't set permissions for every app. I have discussed this in another thread, but anyway, I should use power saver again now that I have all the permissions and data settings out of the way.
Brightness is always as low as possible. I work in an office or at home, and with the virus still hanging around, I haven't been outside for recreation using the camera/GPS, etc.
At least I know you didn't have to work something complicated out. Thanks again.
Wait, your SoT is in one day, right?

Oh ok. I'm a bit different because I use my phone maybe about three hours tops everyday.
Interesting because I observed my phone for the past two nights and it's been draining about 6% overnight, around 6 hours sleep time. This is the biggest battery I've ever had on a phone, so losing 6% makes me wonder if I haven't set something up correctly.

It might just be the different apps we use. Different apps will use more power during different use scenarios, 6% overnight isn't TOO bad but it could be lower. Do you have the option on that turns off power draining features when it detects you're asleep? It's somewhere deep in battery saver settings.

Yeah, different apps for sure. I don't use anything like Instagram/Snapchat, or whatever people use nowadays. My Mate 10 Pro I've upgraded from stays at the same battery level overnight as when it was taken off the charger when new. Two/three years down the line with some battery degradation, it only drains 2-3% every night, so that's why I was so confused.
I think I know what you're talking about. The sleep detection feature doesn't make a difference. The only difference it has is it doesn't refresh notifications while draining the same amount of battery. I think I might need to dig into the settings a bit more or just take it. The drain isn't all that bad, but may take some time to get used to. I should probably try and do a factory reset or something.
Have you disabled and uninstalled all of the unnecessary junk apps using that Xiaomi adb tool?
I'm using Mi 10 Ultra @ 120Hz and getting 7 hrs SoT + 12 hrs Standby and left with 1%. 6hrs SoT + 10:51 Standby @ 20% left. Heavy use of Facebook and Messenger. Light use of Chrome, Youtube, etc. Google Photos backup turned on. Overnight drain is usually around 5% for me.
Active
5 hrs 41 mins
Standby
4 hrs 12 mins
With 18% left
Does this look any good?
I'm not blown away by the battery life but I guess it's better than what my s20 or even the note 20 ultra was
60 hz vs 120 hz.
Only WiFi, auto brightness, social media apps, few pictures.
Generally it's a decent battery for 120 hz, csn make a hole day without worries.
Battery saver seems to give me an extra 20-30% SoT without noticeably impacting my experience beyond the fact that it disables Gmail sync. 8-10 hours without it, 10-14 with.
Do you guys debloat stuff?
i have no luck with Xiaomi and always have poor battery.
Greenify helps. I don't need to charge every day as my phone turns off at midnight and on at 7am.
It's two batteries not one and they are coated in graphene so I expect longevity!
Early signs are good but when this is rooted with lspeed and Greenify it'll be superb.
Greenify does sleep system apps without root though

I've come from a Mi9 which when rooted with a custom kernel and ROM lasted a couple days of moderate use.
Xiaomi bloat is annoying but the hardware is brilliant. You really should explore unlocking that true potential if you don't...
They're not really coated in graphene, they use a graphene electrode. The benefits of graphene electrodes aren't super clear beyond the fact that they're 1000x more conductive than the typical electrode material used in lithium ion batteries. That means less heat when charging and discharging but it's hard to say what else. Supposedly 800+ cycles for minor capacity degradation to set in, instead of the 300-500 for typical batteries, but that's a claim made by xiaomi not necessarily one that's been scientifically proven on this battery or other phones yet. I'm sure it's better than normal batteries but how much better and in what ways isn't clear yet.

So what's your next step?
My battery life has gotten much worse lately and I'm not sure why exactly. Down to 6-7 hours SoT from 10+ easily before. It happened around the same time I installed accubattery, but I uninstalled it a few hours later so I doubt it's that unless it somehow changed a system setting.
It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Google Pixel 5 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Early impressions. Pretty good. Illmlet google do its AI thing to stretch it further though.
17 hours since charge.
4 hours screen on time
55% battery remaining

Any more details?
Total time off the charger?
Brightness?
Apps used?
Wifi or mobile data? If mobile was it on 5G?
Media use like streaming video or music?
Using Bluetooth?
Any games?
GPS?
90hz on or off? If 90hz was on was it forced in developer options?
Dark mode on?
8 hours SOT could be really good or really bad.

Total time off the charger? - 25 hours. This is my first charge cycle
Brightness? - adaptive but mainly around 50%
Apps used? - Camera (45mins), few hours of YouTube, less than hour of games, quite a bit of time downloading and setting up apps. Twitter, web browsing. Bit of GPS on dog walk to test it.
Wifi or mobile data? If mobile was it on 5G? Indoors most of day on very poor 4G and good WiFi. Couple of hours our walking with 4G. No 5G here.
Media use like streaming video or music? Few hours YouTube. 4 or 5 hours of Spotify
Using Bluetooth? Yes quite a bit of the day (pixel buds)
Any games? Less than an hour, word games and an idle game, nothing taxing
GPS? - probably 20mins on a walk to test
90hz on or off? If 90hz was on was it forced in developer options? Dev options on but only to change animations to 0.5x. 90hz used all day.
Dark mode on? Yes
8 hours SOT could be really good or really bad.

Thanks for all the details. For one question I might not have been clear. I didn't mean if you had developer options at all. I meant if you had the "force 90hz" enabled and if you had the smooth display option enabled in display options.

Force 90hz is off in dev options
Smooth display (90hz) is on in display settings
I got the phone a little prior to noon yesterday and spent my free time yesterday getting it set up and settled in, logged into all apps etc.
I took the phone off charge at 100% last night at around 9:45pm. Overnight idle over 11 hours until this morning was 3% with 2 minutes screen on in that time. I'm now 14 hours off charge with 81% battery remaining and 2 hours 6 minutes SOT.
Usage:
Indoor on 4g (poor reception) and wifi (moderate to good reception)
Bluetooth for about 20 minutes this morning
Brightness low
Apps: Telegram, Whatsapp, Slack and a little YouTube Music and Spotify for the music
Ive also been doing some app opening time testing (just visual beteen Pixel 5 and OP7Pro)
Overall this is pretty light usage and almost considered a best case scenario but the battery life seems like it is going to be really good if this holds up over a full drain.
1st full day on mobile 4G. The phone passed 6 hours SOT of heavy use of YouTube, YouTube music videos and browsing around 50% brightness with 15% battery left, so could have pushed close to 7 hours SOT!
Steam media thought Bluetooth, and smooth display is set to on. No dark mode.
My Pixel 4 will not last more than 4 hours, and my Note 10 will be dead around 5:30 hours mark with same usage.
So very impressed with Pixel 5 battery life.

Thanks. It's good to hear some real world battery life. Reviews are just rushing over it. Results will vary but based on what you are getting and your usage I'm optimistic that my battery life will be pretty good. I wish I didn't have to wait until the end of the month.
Quite a heavy day for me, note I had the pixel buds hooked up for a long time too
quick observations now after the first night charging it full.
I went grocery shopping this morning and was away for about 70 minutes. I used Waze navigation for approx 30 minutes in total. When I got home the battery was on 93%.
I recharged it to 100%
I'm using it now for 20 minutes (WiFi, Auto screen brightness). Messaging in Telegram and WhatsApp, reading some news in the Google Feed etc. And I'm still at 100%
Actually while writing this it's 25 minutes screen-on-time and still at 100%.
Edit: now trying to drain the battery with watching Netflix... will get back soon.
Could this be a bug?? My Pixel 3 usually would be already down to 95% now

It certainly could be a bug. I had a similar issue when I first got my Pixel 2 XL. I remember fully charging it right before I went to bed. With 8 hours of being idle over night and like 30+ minutes use in the morning it was still at 100%. I rebooted the phone and it was like 96%. I think it was fixed in the first update I got after getting the phone.

Actually I'm at 8h44m SOT and have 14% battery left now. I watched a movie streaming from my NAS, streamed music with bluetooth, listened to music on the phone, made a video call, took some photos and videos, played some games, watched Netflix etc...
btw: the battery went down to 99% after 35 minutes.
Second day of me using my pixel 5. 90hz adaptive on, adaptive brightness on, 4g for 30 minutes and 3 hours or so with location on. And 25minutes Bluetooth on.

It could still be a bug (or maybe on purpose) that causes the battery percentage indicator to be inaccurate at higher charges. Losing 1% in 35 minutes of use should mean that continuing to use the phone in the same way should last 3500 minutes which is obviously not true since that is 58 hours. Any kind of sustained use wouldn't even get you a quarter of that.
Based on the actual use you have over almost a full charge it does seem to be very good battery life.
Once I get mine (not shipping until October 30th in the USA) my first test will be to do a test with light tasks(browsing, Facebook, texting, etc) with dark mode off and 90hz mode off so I can compare to a screenshot I have from when I first got my Pixel 2 XL.

90HZ on with dynamic, spent around 30 minutes on 4G and 3 hours on location on as I don't have 5G in my area yet. Brightness level is just on adaptive brightness.
Amazing battery life from full charge to 1 percent
Charged this phone fully after getting it initially, then used it till 1 percent, including not charging it overnight at around 80 percent ( I think). I listened to a fair bit of YouTube, Spotify, with bluetooth headphones, and used web browsing and gaming quite a bit (mostly light gaming, idle games). Very impressed
