Hi!
I have my new 9T since almost 2 weeks and i have some issue with battery life. While most of the users speak about 7-8 hours SOT, my experiance is that my phone makes only 3,5-4 hours SOT. With 9T and with 4000mh battery this numbers are sooo bad. My old phone (OP5T) made same or a thiny better standby and sot than this new phone.
Here are my basic info:
- phone is global (miui software is global)
- 4g working, and network coverage is good
- dark mode on! (so should have more battery life than basicly)
- 1 sim used, on the 1st sim place, doulbe 4g mode off.
- only mobile internet is on and nfc.
- no playing games, no video watching, and even no make photos, just basic use (some phone call, net surfing)
- 2nd screen off, screen light about 50%
- there is no stuck in application
Battery using datas:
at apps :android system on the first
at hardwre: cell stadby is the 1st with almost 1,5x-2x more than SOT.
I had a 10 hours period, when i barely touched my phone but 25% battery lost.
Any suggestion? Or i should send my phone back, and start a very very long torture with the service?
Same problem here
I solved a little setting the prefered network in lte/umts but it still a shame
I noticed the same cell standby bug, go to settings about, and tap many times the storage information, there change your SIM mode to only one type of connection. In my case was LTE/WCDMA, it fixed the drain, now SOT it's 6% and cell standby only 1%.
The bad news it's that you need to do this every reboot.
I have a theory, my phone it's the EEA version, it's global but something to do with Europe, I think that maybe that could be the issue, maybe flashing the global ROM will fix the overuse for constant extra bands search.
What version do you have?
that's not normal, consider factory defect or something. when i got mine the initial charge is about 60% i drain it totally until 0% and charge it to 100% just to calibrate the battery and totally that the battery is amazing consider the smoothness of the the ROM, and during night time i have only 2-3% drain on deep sleep. .
How can we check what version of the phone we have?

where did you buy your phone? i got mine from the Mi Store itself and have similar issue to OP. (i'm also from the philippines) My standby drain is bigger, around 10% sometimes. Also do you notice your cell standby using a lot of battery? My default cell settings are also set to LTE/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA and i have to manually change them to LTE/UMTS auto each time i reboot which is a bit of a hassle.
try xiaomi eu rom, my battery life on global stock was realy bad, now is good
10%/ 1h sot, 1% per night (enabled auto flight mode 1am - 6am)-xiaomi.eu feature
im charging it every 2 days with 10-15% battery left 2nd day
wifi/bluetooh/data turned on whole time + connected mi band , NFC off
@Shlyify can you please post some screenshots of what your current sot Vs cell drain is?
Can I also ask you to go to *#*#4636#*#* and tell us what bands are you using for your SIM (LTE or lte/wdcma or something else)?
And finally - which version of xiaomi.eu RoM have you updated to?
It would help a lot - thank you!

There is a lot of confusion with these MIUI ROMs is that one 10.5.9 EEA or from xiaomi.eu?
Edit it's this one:

you're getting almost 2 days battery life out of charging your phone to 80% only?? man, xiaomi eu seems really appealing at this point.

Im charging it to 100% usually, but this time was not full cause I was in a hurry.
I can post my SOT and battery life, but it's not realable for you guys, im using a lot youtube vanced (screen off)music 3h+ per day in work and (every 2nd day in gym so some time is 5h+) via bluetooth headset using LTE.

Still post it! I switched to LTE/UMTS auto and voila, 3% per 9 hours standby, which is decent. Only problem is that it goes back to global draining setting after reboot every time.
I think flashing EU is worth just for that only.
Only question I have is - xiaomi.eu stable (e.g. 10.3.12) Vs weekly Dev 10.5.9.7(even 8 is out?), the one you have...
Still not sure what a practical difference there is between those two, apart from some people having some issues with 10.5 versions ... But changing radio bands definitely helped and maybe there are some more useful tweaks.
Also can I ask which TWRP you used and how did you format/delete all the data from the phone? (In xiaomi.eu thread one guy says "I flashed it and it goes into boot loop" and the other replies "you need to delete all the datA". Then the first one replies "what do you mean?" But no one answers after that and the thread is now locked?

Hi,
I have on my Samsung Galaxy S2 as well as on my Samsung Galaxy Note a huge battery drain caused to 2 processes : "events/0" and "suspend".
I have already read a lot of threads concerning this problem, but without finding a solution.
I found out, that I only have this bug, when activating my Wifi connection (on both devices). I tried every wifi sleep policy, still getting same results.
So finally, my Android OS battery usage is more than 50%, even more than my display.
Does anyone know a solution for this problem, considering that now I'm sure that it's linked to the wifi activation on both phones. (I did a factory reset and there was no battery drain until I activated Wifi without having any other apps installed, besides of System Panel to monitor....)
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Ben
If your phone is rooted you should 'freeze' or remove the apps "Wifi sharing manager" and "Wifi sharing" with Titanium Backup. Fixes your Wifi-problems.
It's a service that looks for other Samsung Wifi devices constantly when Wifi is turned on, thus draining the battery.
No, my Phone isn't rooted. I was not sure if I should or not, considering the warranty problems. Is there no other way?
A lot of other users don't have this problem, I don't get why I have it-.-

As far as I know, it doesn't really void your warranty as long as you do it the right way and unroot your phone before you send it back to Samsung (if problems occur).
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
As an alternative you can disable WiFi when you are not using it with apps like Green Power and Juice Defender (although I strongly advise Green Power for it's ease of use).
Thank you.. But there has to be another way to solve this problem, because people I know don't have this bug... without using any batterysaving software. :/
I guess it's a native issue of your device...

In the first week that I got the Note, the device is eating up about 10% of batter per hour even when idle. The way that I use this Android phone was no difference than other Android devices I have used. When checked the battery usage, I was stunt to find that the Android OS was using 90% of the battery. Funny is that the screen showed a usage of 20minutes, while the OS showed a usage of almost 3 hours.
Soon after, I decided to do a factory reset due to other reasons. Some how this problem went away and the usage is back to normal. I don't know what happened, but in my case, it solved the issue.
Also I don't use the Note as a phone, but rather as a mini-tablet when I am not at home. So I decided to put the device in Flight mode when it is not in use. In this mode, the device hardly uses any battery. For example when I went to sleep, the battery was at 79%. When I woke up 7 hours later, the battery still shows 79%.
Hope this help!

How about you stop ASS-uming about devices that you don't own. The Galaxy Note is faster, smoother, lighter, and more portible than your Motorola tablet. The only tablet that can match or even outperform the Note is the Galaxy tab so have fun with your soon to be obsolete tablet.
OT: Your issue may be fixed with a factory reset.

Did you try 'Green Power'?
Did you try the app "Green Power". It is pretty good and promising. It will turn off Wifi / 3g while it is not using, it save much power. The paid version just including the 'night' mode.
I'm suddenly facing this issue. Have had no problem with the battery so far. My battery went from 40% to 15% overnight with the screen off and wifi off. :s

Edit one more time: I found the battery draining really fast just now too: 15%-12% in about 20 minutes.
Clearing the RAM seems to have stopped that though.
I really do think it's the wi-fi sharing/manager processes. I've frozen mine to see if that makes any difference.
It's exactly the same for me, with the suspend and events/0 processes...
Any Solution

I solved my problem thanks to a tip on this forum. I just did a factory reset for my ohone, and then reflashed the firmware. Its working great now
ok, but what version?
I'd think it's pretty relevant to know what android/fw-version you're all using? I'm on Samsung's original 2.3.6 and have no issues...

No, its not. Coze I've upgraded to 2.3.6, and then downgraded to 2.3.5 again, and my problem was still there. Only a factory reset solved my problem.
By the way, u can notice something is wrong by the amount of heat generated while using the wifi, or by how slow pc usb charging could be. It even used to discharge when connected to pc!
The amount of heat was a very strong indication that there was something wrong.
Still battery drain
Hello all,
as of 26 march 2012, I still have something problematic on my samsung galaxy note. I flashed last Open German firmware (LC1) (from samfirmware). The phone is rooted, and as far as I noticed the "suspend" process is still draining the most battery compared with the display ratio. I tried to wipe everything, I downgraded back from LB1 to KKA with Odin, wiped, flashed LC1 and reinstalled onyl paid apps (i.e. not with no advertises). I turned off the Wifi but the susped is still there, eating 63% of resources.
There are not special kernel wakelocks... any ideas on how to go ahead?
I have a standard non rooted rom. I also faced sudden battery drain, but use the following solution -
Folders - keep to the application page not home screens
Backlight - off when inside, 50% if outside or on charge (auto drains faster)
Browser - use one of the low power saving mode
Screen background - live wallpaper eats battery. Use a dark based wallpaper , use much less power
With all the above battery is fine. GB 2.3.6.
I've had the exact same problem as the topic starter. Android system running over 90% in standby and suspend and events/0 running at 100%. I had this problem on stock XXLA6, on Darky V3.3 XXLA6 and Rocket V23 XXLC1 and after a number of full wipes.
My wifi wouldn't turn off in standby and setting different sleep policies didn't do a thing.
I removed the Samsung Sharing app, installed GreenPower and set it to turn off wifi and 3G/data as I don't need sync when it's in standby anyway.
All problems are gone now, after an hour in standby I still have 100% charge and after browsing for 5 minutes it lowered to 99%. Suspend and events/0 no longer run when the phone is in standby, wifi is turned off and Android System is at 4% now.

What is the name of the Samsung sharing app you deleted?
This thread is to discus extremely poor battery life on the Nexus S. When we say extremely poor, we mean averaging <24 hours per charge at idle.
After much research I think it's safe to say that some of us are experiencing extremely poor or contrarily, extremely good battery life and no one seems to have an explanation. I'm hoping this thread will find the answer.
The issue:
Many NS users are experiencing extremely poor battery life regardless of:
Rom installed
Apps installed
Installation method
Battery used
Charging method/battery training
Phone usage
Power configuration/tweaks
When we say "extremely poor" we mean <24 hours at idle, but many users are getting less than 8h/C at idle.
I personally have tested this against several ROMS both GB and ICS. We all see slightly better battery performance with GB ROMS, but never greater than 24h/charge.
My ROM history:
Tested the following ROMS for 4 days each, following the same installation procedure each time.
CM7 (nightly/stable) - ~15h/[email protected]
CM9 - ~13h/[email protected]
CyberGR .v4.5 - ~11h/[email protected]
CyberGR .v5.0 - ~11h/[email protected]
Installation method:
Wipe battery stats
Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition
Flash Dalvik-wiper.zip and wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition again
Format /system/data/cache/boot/sdcard
Flash ROM
Flash Gapps if applicable (CyberGR comes with Gapps installed)
I was running an AUCKF1 Radio for all tests. I did try a few other radio's but did not see any noticeable increase in battery life *edit-flashed XXXKB3 and may have increased my idle time by 6x? still testing*
I've also never personally seen an NS get >24h/C, and I've deployed >40 of them to customers. I've only ever heard of >24h/C here on the forums where it seems quite common.
I've seen reports of users flashing the OTA automatically or manually, and some experience <8h/[email protected] while others see >3d/[email protected] I've also tested the OTA and never saw better than 13h/[email protected]
So, we're trying to find the common denominator between those with good battery performance vs. those with poor performance.
Suspects:
Android OS is almost always reported to be active/awake for at least 50% of the time, even at idle on a brand new clean install. It is always the highest consumer of battery, always keeps the CPU awake.
I propose the following test:
Regardless of your setup, if you are experiencing >2d/[email protected] or with use, please post the following:
Phone model (ie: i9020a, i9020t...)
ROM
Radio version
Installation method
Screenshot of your battery monitor from a full charge over a minimum of 10 hours.
Screenshot of your battery use by application/service (we notice that Android OS seems to be the culprit in most cases of poor performance)
For those getting <1d/[email protected], please do the following and then post the same as above:
Note: This should be done overnight.
Follow the above flash instructions and flash whatever ROM you please.
Reboot to recovery and wipe your battery stats.
Power off your handset and give it a full charge while powered off.
On first reboot, sign into a single Google account but do not restore your apps/backups and disable Google sync.
Do not install any additional applications.
Enable wifi/bt/gps/data/sync and associate to a wireless network
Do not modify any power settings.
Leave your handset to idle overnight for at least 8 hours without touching anything.
In the morning, take a screenshot of your battery use as well as battery use by application/service.
Post Phone model, ROM, Radio version, Carrier, and Screenshots.
I recognize that there is some argument about how fast your battery will re-train itself after wiping battery stats. In my experience the training seems to be optimal after 1 full charge to full discharge cycle, but ultimately I've never seen further training result in >24h/C. Someone please let me know if there's a more accurate way to test this? Maybe we shouldn't be wiping battery stats at all?
I'll get us started.
Sorry, didn't get screenshots after 8 hours because my battery wouldn't last that long.

With light to moderate use, I get 6-10h/C
Hey Ben i just did what you did in the other thread. full charge everything on kill all unneeded services.
I'll admit that i forgot to kill extra services and it plummeted my battery to 92% in about 45min. I had an "oh ****" moment and went and killed the random apps.
Im at 2 hours extra now and lost 3% only, everything still on.
So with that info i'll mention this for me would be considered heavy usage. I'll never have everything on constantly. When I was posting up my results of light usage and getting 3 days - note that i had everything firewalled while on 3G except for my emails and messaging and took a few calls only. everything else was off.
I'm gonna guess that with it all on and actually using the phone i'll hit at most 10 hours, probably not even that.
So that basically puts us about even. I'm curious if you do my light tests...will you be seeing 3 days also ? If yes then we can rule out models basically.
Flashed XXXKB3, factory reset (according to OP instructions), flashed CyberGR .v5 again, signed into one Google account, disabled Google sync+backup, enabled and connected to wifi, bt/gps/everything on, then left my phone overnight. Results.
Looks ****in' Gooood. 1.2%/[email protected] draw.
But then, opened my screen once, played some tunes through BT to my truck, drove around for 13 minutes, went back in the house and left the phone idling again and look at the drop! It's continued to draw like this all day now, just idling. I've done NOTHING but play 13 minutes of music and then back to idle.
What's DOES IT MEAN??!!
So I rebooted my phone and let it idle again without touching anything, and still seeing the wicked battery draw. I dunno wtf to think here, and I can't get the draw back down to 1%/[email protected]
*edit* For the sake of 100% transparency, while the phone was idling at 1%/h overnight, I was far enough away from the wifi AP i'd associtated to, that it MAY have lost signal and given up, so perhaps the wifi hardware finally went to sleep. Does anyone know if wpa_supplicant (or whatever controls wifi in Android) runs is represented by AndroidOS?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Oh. Dur...
I think that may be it. Wifi was probably dis-associated overnight. You can see at the very beginning of the battery recording, there's a sharp dip in charge for about 15 minutes, which corresponds directly to Wifi association, then the draw goes nearly flat (1%/h) for 10.5 hours and the Wifi is not associated.
Testing now... Leaving Wifi on, but dis-associated. See if that nice flat line comes back.

This is a normal night of going out, connecting with friends, a bit of music before. A weekend for when it is most important, these are the results. I forgot to photo the android os but it said it was awake, cpu for 4 hrs.
Regarding the Android OS being highest battery consumer, it might be false alarm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456265
Although still, that hasn't explained the high drain (<10h/day) you're experiencing.
In your first set of screencaps (the 2h30m one) it seems obvious that the culprit is Mediaserver and Google+? One of the most annoying things about ICS that I found is that after flashing ROMs or kernels, Google-Photos have a tendency to enable sync behind our backs. Someone in my local forum discovered when he logged in G+ in his PC that the pictures in his Nexus S had suddenly shown up in the G+ account even though he never uploaded them there. After he disabled that sync, his battery life improved. As a result, I've grown OCD about checking my sync settings every once in a while. The Google-Photos option doesn't always show right away when we set up a new Google account.

I'm back to 1%/[email protected] with everything but wifi enabled.
All sync settings enabled with no sync delay.
G+/data/gallery sync all enabled for 3 accounts. Receiving about 30 emails in 14.5 hours overnight. This should work out to 111h/[email protected]
The question here for me is that I thought Wifi would use less power than 3G given it's such lower range. I thought that when Wifi was associated that your 3G would automatically disconnect, thus using less power when associated to a Wifi AP than when connected to 3G.
Am I mistaken in this? Is this not the desired operation?
*edit* It may be looking like my draw increased by about 8x as soon as I opened the screen for the first time this morning, and hasn't dropped back down to the 1%/h. Right now it seems to be at about 10%/h again, though I'll report back on this later today.

I'm getting the same...
power drain increases for dunno whatever reason...
right after a reboot it goes ok if I do not touch it... as soon (or five minutes later) as I start playing with it the power drain increases a lot and android OS takes over any other service...
generally to test I wipe the battery stats before booting from recovery...
maybe we should check in logcat what trigger the high android OS usage?

I've checked logcat/dmesg and haven't seen anything super suspect (to my somewhat untrained Android eyes). I have done a tonne of power management scripting/troubleshooting in laptops and other mobile devices but this is really my first serious foray into Android PM, so I may be missing something.

As I said, stock settings from CyberGR .v5. Signed in to all three Google accounts and left sync enabled. Turned off Wifi but left everything else enabled.
Drove around (phone paired to my truck for music) for a few hours today, light/moderate use, and I'm currently sitting at 69% battery remaining, coming up on 24 hours on battery. Realistically, this is probably a little lighter use than normal for me, plus I usually plug in when I'm in the Jeep as I'm running not only music over BT to my Jeep, but also streaming OBDii data from my ECU to Torque (and my screen is usually on full time while driving as I like to keep track of my mileage (troubleshooting fuel efficiency as well ).
So all said, stock settings with CyberGr, Radio XXXKB3, Wifi off, everything else on, and I should easily get 2 full days of light use.
Now that said, I'm still waiting for someone getting 3-5 days to chime in. I still feel something isn't quite right.
Wow. Practically the same as myself but my battery is now around 6-7 hrs before I need a charge. I will have to buy a new battery and see if that is the culprit. Over even just flash CM9 instead, who knows..

I doubt it's a bad battery. You're seeing the same life I was before I flashed the XXXKB3 radio and re-installed the ROM properly. Follow the installation instructions from the OP and see if that solves your problem.
After looking at an earlier shot here I notice my android os stays on most of the time hence my bad battery. How do I get it to sleep?

So does mine, but it is not an accurate reflection of battery drain, per android engineer Dianne Hackborn. Look at the Android OS percentage in my screen shots - it doesn't matter.
For those with excessive battery drain: install Battery Monitor Widget and Better Battery Stats from the market. Those two apps should provide all the data you need to troubleshoot poor performance.
Also, check your signal strength. Weak reception will drain your battery in a hurry.
I am experiencing a weird issue with my Battery Drain. I am on PA3.1 and since the time i have installed the ROM i am experiencing an overnight drain of about 14% - 18. However yesterday my battery fell to almost 33% overnight with the same config. today also it is behaving weird with 1% drain per minute of browsing.
Also i am not able to understand as to why SetCPU & Trickster are showing different values of Min Freq. (I might have done something unknowingly or am i missing something here)
the pics are attached for reference as i could not make out anything out of these....
The first pic is the earlier one -- at this point i was thinking of how to improve the situation and now it has gone all the more worse
i had the same happening to me out of the blue. i had a couple of apps installed that recently got updatedand and caused a mess. line for instance and a couple of deskclock add-ins.
check this stuff - delete apps that cause trouble. line for instance lost me as a customer

normal for this rom is 1-2% . after i deleted these apps its almost flatlining (each gap is a night in airplane mode)
i would also recommend not fooling aroundwith the kernel. stay stock, googles kernel is great. there is absolutely no need for custom kernels unless you're missing key functionality like tap to wake, fast-charge or whatever.
Download "Greenify". It'll stop all those apps from waking up without your knowledge and hibernate them.

Looking at the graph i dont think it was some app as i have not installed any new app in between.
(though i will monitor closely the wake locks). Also from the beginning when i updated to PA the battery drain overnight has been ~18%.
Already have Greenify working for me
Also please give a view as to why SetCPU & Trickster are showing different values for minimum.

Okk last night i kept my phone on WiFi and the discharge was only 5%. So it seems that 3G is taking a lot of battery. Wake lock app do not show any wierd app as such. With the graphs that i posted could someone get an idea as to what is happening.....
And to repeat why SetCPU & Trickster are showing different values????
The same thing happened to me yesterday. Just out of the blue my battery was dropping around 1-2% a minute also. I'm on PA 3.1 too. I charged fully and did battery calibration this morning and it seems to be running a little better but still not great battery.
It's worth noting that when this happened i took my SIM out and put in my S3 (since I wasnt going to be near a charger and my batter was already at 50% after 3 hours of being off charge). When i came back home about 6 hours later it had not even dropped 1%. So I also think it is related to the 3G network
I'm almost 100% sure it's an app. I've been there before and at the end it always is an app. Doesn't really matter if u installed it just yet or weeks ago. I used for example widget locker for some days with no problem and suddenly it prevents my phone from sleeping and just drained it like hell.
Just try to find that bad app! I'm sure its there.

So what are u saying? If u get kernel wakelocks it can't be an app causing the battery to drain?
If u check CPU spy i think u will see that your phone won't go into deep sleep. Caused by an APP and not kernel related.

Did you make a clean install ?
Try another kernel, i personally prefer it stock, franco is a great alternative.
Yeah idk what it is either. I had Paranoidandroid 3.15 running on my nexus for about 2 days, with custom kernel in WHEATLEY mode. Battery life was atrocious. It would only stay alive maybe 6-8 hours before I needed a charge. Switched back to CM10.1, same custom kernel with WHEATLEY, Ran my phone for 15 hours last night, and battery level was still at 60%. Not going back to PA

I did, I some much did it. I do not remember any more which one gave the best/worst result.
Tried AOKP, CM, PA with Franco, Matrix Kernels. Still no result for the sleep (overnight) drains.
Or I think I should stop comparing battery behavior with my old Gnex.
Install stock ROM and kernel. Wipe everything!!!! Data cache dalvik cache etc etc. And start without installing apps and try this for at least 3 days.... If problem is still there you probably have a faulty battery.... If not , it must be an app giving u so much drain.
Other solution is get CPU spy and check if your phone goes into deep sleep. If its not going into sleep then u have found your problem... Next is to find the app that's keeping your device awake....

I will try your suggestions, thanks a lot.
1. Which CPU Spy do you recommend? There are a lot of apps in the play store with the same name.
2. FYI, Using CM 10.1 and kernel, I have disabled Wi-fi, Auto-Sync, Greenified everything except Whatsapp, Facebook and Gmail, and %25 of the battery lost overnight.

1. Doesn't really matter, as long as you can see if the phone goes into deep sleep. Try CPU spy plus free. You see all your frequencies and at the bottom deep sleep.
2. Sometimes trying to hard make thing worse and doesn't help finding the solution.
I've got the same problem and after a few days of search I found the bad app....... Widget locker kept my phone awake all day!
Deleted it and back was my battery life

Try running something more stable besides experimental builds with potential bugs/leaks/drains if you have to depend on your phone in order wake up and keep your job... I'd recommend also buying a real alarm clock otherwise..

Hi.
I have 5.1 on the French firmware (stock, no root, locked bootloader). Since the update, I noticed that my battery went from 36-48 hours of mild usage (on KitKat) to 12-18 hours (on Lollipop). That's quite absurd!
My situation:
- factory reset after update
- moto voice turned off
- wifi almost always on
- very good reception
- synchronization mostly turned off (when turned on, it sucks a LOT, like 5% in a few minutes).
- Preferred network type: 3G
- NFC and wifi scanning always available both off
I eventually find a way to greatly improve my battery life, going from this

Some advice to greatly improve Moto X battery life.
But beware!
- You can fix mobile standby stat using the xposed module. More info in this post. In my case it also improved battery life and general smoothness.
- Yes, 3G/LTE will continue to suck a lot of battery. Like, a lot.
- Yes, your Screen On Time should improve. Mine did (and by quite a lot). But this trick is mostly aimed to lower the standby consumption, not to magically decrease battery sucking when you are actually using your phone! If you use 3G/LTE all day long, don't expect to reach more than 2-3 hours of SoT (still lot better than before though).
Hope it helps!

They help, but nothing quite gets rid of this issue. There was an xposed module that aimed to fix the cell standby issue but I've found it hasn't worked. Not much we can do

I had the same issue with Cyanogenmod 12.1 on my Moto X 2013 and another thread suggested gservicefix on the play store. I'm not sure exactly what it did (Google results are not coming up with much), but it seems to have stopped the mobile standby from draining the battery.
I think that these are wrongly reported stats.
I have the similar stats on all ROMs but it doesn't seem to affect battery life in any way.

Yes, there is an inconsistency between the stats of Battery and GSam Battery, but the fact that my moto lasts half of the time it used to under KK remains. I hoped someone had the same problem and managed to fix it.
For example, today it started with 93% at 12:30 and now (6 hours later) is at 72%. All of this barely using the phone, only the wifi on (without sync), and remaing in the same place with good connectivity.
Battery stats now report 16% on standby and 1% on Google Play Services / Screen (45m).

For me battery was improved over kitkat.
I got more screen on and more standby.
Like 2 days ago, i charged upto ~90% at around 11.30pm and the next day at 3pm I had 2hr50min screen on time with 40% battery left.
Could I try with a factory reset?
Hi buddy. it's a famous known issue from Lollipop. As we speak we can't do much to correct this in stock rom i think...
But i can advise you to install some app like "rabbit battery" or "droid battery". Those app cut data every few minutes and active it from time to time to sync your app. I use it on kitkat it is a very good features..
Also you should try a factory reste just in case... maybe it will increase your battery life a bit.
Out topic :
I can see you are from Italia but you have the french ota ?
How did you flash it ? did you found the ota on internet and sideloaded it ?
Cause i'm searching it for a while.
Good luck with your battery drain bro
It affects all CM12.1 based roms as well (except AICP and @Megatron007's AOSP builds). Powernap seemed to help.

Since there isn't an Italian firmware version, all moto devices in Italy have French, German or European firmware. I bought my moto X on Amazon.it but imported from Amazon.fr, that's why I have the French version!

Yesterday I entered the fastboot but didn't full wipe, I tried BP tools instead (not that it really does something per se). After some app optimization, it seemed that the problem was solved. Even if battery usage under data consumption was still insanely high (20% in a couple hours), this morning I woke up with a little 3% of battery gone during the night, and no sign of mobile standby usage. However as soon as I began to use data, it quickly arose. Now it's at 32% of usage after 6 hours, and the battery has gone from 80 to 18%.
I have installed rabbit battery, even if my French is something horrible I will try to see if it will solve anything

Ho sorry i forgot the app was french ! try '' leandroid '' it's english and the same features as rabbit battery !
Last battery cycle lasted extactly 24 hours (from 100% to 15%):
- absolutely no battery usage during the night, in this Lollipop it's simply fenomenal (Kitkat was very good and used only 1% per hour, Lollipop uses even less).
- 34% of mobile standby
- really high battery consumption under mobile data+sync
- 2h50m of screen time, with low brightness
In other words, the last cycle didn't go bad (especially because I had wifi/mobile data turned on pretty much all the time), but it's still far from the 36-48h with 4-5h of screen time I was used before.
I tried Rabbit Battery, LeanDroid, DU Battery, etc, but with Lollipop (which doesn't even permit to switch mobile data on and off) and no root, they are completely useless.
The same goes for Greenify obviously.
So that's it I think, after having acknowledged that this battery consumption isnt' a Moto X's fault but it's a general Lollipop's fault, I think I will wait for an Android M rom with this problem finally fixed (at least we hope so!).
I tried to factory reset without any result.
Battery life simply sucks, I can't even arrive to 3pm with only wifi and 3 hours screentime.
Given that I didn't unlocked the bootloader and it is still under warranty, I'm thinking of asking for replacement.
Try turning location services off. Google Now (except location specific stuff) still works without it, especially if you're on Wifi.
This reduced my best-case standby drain from 3.5% or so per hour to about 1.6% per hour. If I was walking a lot and checking the phone, I got as high as 10% per hour drain with location services on.
You might also try just disabling location history. This breaks Google Fit, but may be worthwhile for the battery gain. Now I'm just turning location services on when I need it. Seems to work fine and my average battery life has gone from less than 36 hours to closer to 48.

HI ! i did the ota a few days ago! Everything is great execpt battery life. same problem as you... i didn't know that app needed root to disabled data connection un Lollipop. So rabbit battery and LEan droid are useless in my case (bootloader locked, unroot)

Hello guys,
yesterday I rolled back from N to MM in order to install a fresh MM and install the N again and I still have high battery drain where Android System and AndroidOS are top battery consumers. I have high drainage when I am not using the phone too, and its not even connected to the internet too. Few days ago for two hours of not using the phone I had around 30% battery drain and I think that's not normal at all. I think that the phone is draining less battery when I am using it than I am using it...
As I said before, I have freshly installed Nougat b371, I am not rooted and the bootloader is locked.
I thought it was because I tried to install the b381 300mb version but it failed installing it and I thought it was part b371, part b381 and that was causing some problem with that and that's why I installed a fresh version of MM but that's not working too and I don't know what to do now. If you can guys help me It'd be awesome!
And I also these days never have 4g, only H+ and its losing the connection and it automatically reconnects after few seconds and I don't know why. Before I always had 4g... The fresh MM didn't solved that problem. Do you think that b381 failed installation somehow misfigured something?
And a screenshot of the consumption level.

Disabling Google app is just like a default thing I am doing after factory reset, hahah. And I also unchecked the apps before, its like a normal thing to me after installing all the apps I need after a factory reset. The thing is the android is draining too much battery and I was asking for a way to somehow reduce it, because even if I am not using the phone it drains the battery for more than 15%, not a couple of percents... I will do a test this night and I will let you know tomorrow.
And also the phone is getting hotter than before...
That's why I did a rollback and installed all new MM, like it came from a store, to see if that'd help but nothing...
My phone had battery drain when I disabled google backup transport.
I don't use google backup. Everything is disabled, but since I enabled it, battery drain is gone.

Ummm... in my phone Google Backup Transport is already enabled...
Went to sleep at 4:00am and my phone had 90% od battery and woke up at 11:45am and I had 43% battery. Thats 47% battery drain over night.
HELP?
I also installed gsam battery monitor and combined app cpu was the highest battery drainer with 76%...
Maybe to try deleting EVERYTHING from TWRP and flash a zip file of emui 4.1? If thats better than a normal factory reset I would try that too, because factory reset didnt solved my problem...
I have the same issue on B360.
Phone Idle in Hardware Section and Android OS in software drains alot during standby. Android OS keeps the system awake.
I think they played around with the cpu governor since they removed the battery performance mode.
Hey guys, i found a bug with wifi i think, i tried with latest LOS, RR, OMNI and SLIM roms (meticulus)
I found that in my case, the battery drain comes from the wifi not turning off when the phone is asleep, regardless any saving options i tick.
I discovered it while checking my wifi router, i saw my phone listed but it was un plugged from charger and locked.
I unlocked my phone and surprise, the wifi icon was already here full and ready now i'm searching a rom without those issues as i'm sure it did not do that when i flashed my first roms on this device (CM13 i think)
can some of you guys double check this issue so i can know if it's related to my device only ?

I didnt had something like that while I was using b371. When I turned the Wi-Fi off it was off.
In my case I think that there is something screwed up with the mobile network and causing battery drain and warming up the phone...
Maybe I will try a new rom, to see if the problem will be still there.

Installed MM again yesterday, rooted the phone and installed Better Battery Stats and here are the results after the night. I had a battery drain of 30% over night.
Here are the results of the BBS.
A solution?

xx wrong xx
hi, I have similar problem, during night 10-15 percent of battery drained.
i think the cause is either the google account sync, some google apps or google backup functionality.
according to power manager, the phone is awake and also OS has the most percentage in consumption.
i dont have root, do someone figure that out or at least found out the reason?
thx

I fixed my issue by changing the mobile network to 2G/3G, not using the 4G and for some reason that was causing some problems with the battery drainage.
I rooted the phone and installed Better Battery Stats (which is working with non-rooted phones but using adb) but I couldn't make it work so I rooted the phone only for that, to see what was draining my battery so much with a lot of help of @pilgrim011.
If you have a problem with the 4G as I mentioned before, try disabling it and check the results after.
And I don't think that google's backup and sync apps were causing drainage because they obviously need an internet to work, or to back things up to be simple. If I am not wrong, haha.
Hope you'll find a fix for your problem.
Ok,going to try and get back with results
Ok so i am back, and have bad news. But at least i am seeing a pattern in behavior.
Last evening i charged phone to max, before sleep ir was ok - android os little drain, android apps bigger.
After night the battery dropped from 97 to 79%, like last time i charged to max, the system was awake regurarly and all drained by android os.... i only happens during tje first night, do you have any ideas?
