sounds like you are trying to flash a file with a lower bootloader version than what is on there already. What ap file are you trying and which was on there previously?

Hey bud, you are on the wrong forum, this is for S7 edge international exynos variant. Yours is ATT S7 Edge, your forum is :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/help
Even this subforum is for guides, not for questions.
Regarding your question, you are trying to flash lower version bootloader in a device already having a higher version.
Please flash correct firmware according to your model, and post in the relevant forums if you want some helping answers. Good luck

I like threads like this one because thats the only way I can increase my post counts without spamming anyone
I assume by now you managed to get the firmware from sammobile.com but do you know how to flash it through odin ?
Do you know how to get to download mode on your phone ? Will that affect your KNOX counter or not ?
Anyway I will be waiting for your new threads to post on them
Hi all,
Allow me to apologise for my, likely, n00b question but I'm not confident with this process yet and do not wish to brick my phone!
I have Darklord Note 5 port installed and am encountering the "Video Recording failed" error. It's my understanding that this issue is caused by being on an older firmware and that the fix is to install the latest one.
I have downloaded the 3 files linked to from the main post.
CP.......tar.md5 and BL......tar.md5 seem pretty obvious where to put them in odin but there is a BB-BL-N9005XXUGBOI8.rar as well. I am unsure what to do with this file.
I have searched briefly but I'm at work at the moment. Could anyone point me in the right direction or show me where I should be looking for this, please.
Many thanks in advance!

Just flash CP and BL. Don't flash kernel and .rar.
Link the CP and BL to the corresponding tab in odin. Find odin first and you'll see how to put them.

put your phone in developer mode.
connect to computer (drivers should be installed).
open odin put the file file which has name APxxxxx in ap section and follow the same for the rest . For csc put either one (csc or home_csc) then click start.
should work fine....

Since you got your answer, can you delete your thread from this section?
If you are still unsure visit the general discussion guide, or go to samsmobile search firmware, download your models firmware and flash via odin - instruction are also found there.

You might want to check out the rules for posting in the development section. The proper section to post a question in is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help :good:
Your thread will be moved there shortly.

Are there methods that I can substitute. When I try to search for sm-935a root im coming up with absolutely nothing. Is there no root method out for it? I almost accidentally root using odin till I saw at the very last second its a different image and its for Verizon. Someone please steer me the right direction.
I believe your phone is a snapdragon (Qualcomm) version.
If so follow this guide.
[root guide] SM-G9350/9300 S7 Edge Qualcomm | rom + kernel + twrp + xposed
It is the snapdragon. That guide seems so confusing. Are you sure thats the one for me?

Hi @Creative18, could you post that file on some location I can access it G930PVPS5BRA1?
I was trying to root my phone and broke my system. I have tried with older firmwares but didn't work. I think I need to try with an updated firmware like this: G930PVPS5BRA1.
I will really appreciate your help.
I'm in a bad moment about this.
Thanks in advance.
There has been a partial root obtained in this thread for the edge version:

It is possible it could be used on the flat version.
If anyone does manage to root the RA1 version, please contact me. I need a rooted version of this phone with RA1 to extract the bootloader and revive a bricked version of this bad boy. You would be doing a great service to other owners of this phone with the same problem as me..
What I need:
To create an emergency sdcard for Qualcomm based G930/G935:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/sda of=/storage/emulated/emergency.bin bs=1024 count=131072
exit
adb pull /storage/emulated/emergency.bin

Thanks in advance to anyone that is able to do this! I will gladly buy you a beer if it is soon enough (if not I will probably just have to replace the motherboard).

There already is a rooted U version thread. If you have issues with a phone just download the firmware and flash it in Odin.

Yeah. But they said they needed a bootloader extracted from a device? Idk what that would help them with. Besides you can extract specific partitions from the firmware file.

I also searched weeks and i have it . a simple fast root for our sm930P Sprint and other versions S7 on a locked bootloader . i have done two S7s one on ra1 and the other on BD2 a 5 and 6 . it rooted the first time on both and the speps are simple . no bootlooping apps to install no confusion .simple install.. it runs very very fast and i see no difference from a stock nugget phone other than samsung pay and a few samsung apps dont like root. it even has an over cloke if you want. Flash at your own risk but now i have my titanium backup and other root apps running flawless . on TING . simple two steps involved and no bootloops . i used the system root option and did not wipe data and used the leave safestrap on it or no safestrap installed option . the rest is EASY PEASY https://www.androidsage.com/2017/03...gat-firmware-usa-att-t-mobile-verizon-sprint/
