Does your phone have thermometer sticked to its body?
41 is temperature of processor which is normal.
Why will the body of phone feel 41?
Try the lastest version of ion os that fixed the problem for me.

anyone can help me with my problem? thanks for paying attention to my thread 1st
i'm experiencing overheat of my battery which is around 45 degree Celsius on normal use
the lowest i can get is around 42, which is very high, doesnt matter i took it out for couple hours and put it back, temperature still the same, around 10 degree higher than normal
is it possible that the thermometer thing inside the battery has gone hay wired? if so how can i recalibrate it?

WRONG SECTION. This must be posted in Q&A section
Anyway:
This happens on daily use? Also in standby?
or only when/after you are installing android rom?
You always had this issue or only using DesireHD rom?

No one can help if you do not provide info. Windows ROM, radio, Android ROM, kernel, are you overclocking? What are you doing when the temp reaches the highest? Is it in the 40's all the time?
P.S. Questions should go in the Q&A section.
You should also make sure that you are using original battery.
Some aftermarket batteries have wrong temp reading...
clock speed you're at and governor used?
i always underclock to 768mhz or 576mhz jus to keep my batt temp under 40 degrees celcius..
note that if you charge and use heavily at the same time, the temp rises higher than normal, so avoid this..

if you get same temp also in WMO, this means your battery is dying.
Buy another one.
if you using s7.6 HD kernel, use the smartass setcpu profile.
my phone stays cold as long as screen off

he said that his battery is hot also in Windows Mobile.
How SMARTASS will help him to get a cold battery in Windows Mobile?
Please read befor posting
His battery is going to dead shortly.
just elementary electrical knlowedge. When a Li-Ion/Li-Po battery start going dead, his internal resistance will raise up. You may now that havin some current passing thru an higher resistance will cause more heat. Think about a lightbulb. If it is 20W it's hot.. but a 200W it's hotter.
So, when your battery is hot without using it, means that internal resistance is raising up, so means that the battery is almost dead. It's time to change.

a brand new battery could die also after 24 hours because defective.
The thing that you was not able to charge it.. confim my toughts. Your battery is damaged/defected. Trash it and buy another one.
Damaged/defected batteries could also explode.

define overheating. i push my ns to over 110F all the time. but that is by choice. if its hitting over 110 by itself, then its overheating. if its in the 90's then its not overheating. it does tend to get hot when plugged in and using the phone, especially when gaming or watching flash video.
does it need to be defined? I mean I can clearly feel that the device is pretty warm? So when I charge it I should turn off wifi, bluetoofs and kill all aps? If thats true when how my friend manages to play games while charging NS and get no heat at all, definetly something with the hardware is fcuked up
How can i see how hot my phone is? Mine gehts warm sometimes but i never considered it would overheat because of undervolting...

feeling warm to your hands is relative. that is not a temp indicator. try this experiment. get a cup of room temp water, a cup of ice water, and a cup of warm water. put one hand in the ice water, the other in the warm water for 1 minute. then put both hands in the room temp water at the same time. the hand that was in the ice water will feel like the room temp water is hot, the hand in the warm water will feel like the room temp water is cold. you will not believe the outcome, almost like your senses are deceiving you. clearly both hands are in the room temp water, yet both hand feel a differnt temperature
there are apps that will give you your phones battery temp, like secpu has a battery temperature monitor. that will be a little more accurate than what your hands are telling you. whenever you use your phone, the temp will go up. the processor and battery produce heat when used. the harder you use it, the hotter it will get. especially when its plugged in because of the electricity moving(also produces heat). i hope that helps somewhat and doesnt end up confusing you
Thank you for info, I will get heating problem fixed.
I just want to ask, because I dont want to create a new thread does you(nexus s users) get random reboots ? While having call or just BOOM it reboots itself.

what rom and kernel. there are kernels that will do that. also, if you are undervolting/underclocking that could happen. usually a little more voltage should fix it.
about the heat again. ive gotten my phone so hot before, that it hurt holding in my hand that was when oc'd very high and benchmarking very hard. putting it in the fridge, at that point, helps
I dont have NS with me but its has latest android version. I heard that reboot problem is massive ? Or is it suppose to be fixed ?

If you are running a custom kernel, it is usually a result of too much stress on the kernel (ex: overclocking). On stock kernel, I have never had that unless my phone froze up.

46°C isn't really overheating, and it happens to me also when I'm playing Bad Biggies, also sometimes when I'm charging. As far as I know, there is nothing we can do about it, though some people have said that its better to take the back case off when you're playing.

Thanks for reply.
But before i rooted my phone and started to test different ROMs my temperature was OK i mean like 35 while playing.
And my android always warns me
(i think that 46 is really hot cus on battery it says that its better to keep temperature below 45c and its really hot when 46)
I even tried to use setCPU to use less Mhz but it didnt help
btw i use 3.0.8 kernel (if this matters)

Some ROMs overclock your device. btw, what are your CPU clocks at the moment? Also, if you live in warm countries, that might explain the overheating.

Perhaps something is running in the background. That will eat your battery. But 51C is not hot enough to worry about.

It happens for me in all the custom and stock Rom on S2, atleast 20mins per day, sometimes it feels like throwing the phone (Heat generated while talking on the phone makes me go mad...)and buy a new one. But budget problem, so i have to live with this currently. (I have tried CleanWipe using Hawkers script[Normal Factory reset as well ], but nothing seem to work).
So, you are saying that if we change the current modem to xxlq6 modem, it will fix this heating issue ?
I've always had heating issues when I use 3G and wifi too on my S2. I've gone through CM, Neatrom, and now just installed Blackra1n's MIUI 6. The device got really hot while charging sometimes too and usually hot device = battery drain for sure. Off your wifi/3g when you're not using them I reckon!

That's weird because I also use MIUI6 from Blackra1n. Because I life in tropical country, I got 34-35°C while charging (room temperature is about 31°C at daylight). While playing games, the back cover near camera part feel hotter but still acceptable, I presume it's about 37-40°C.
Btw; on MIUI6 I tune CPU max frequency to 800MHz, governor Pegasusq, I/O both sio for internal and external storage. I'm using Kernel Adiutor with my MIUI6. The only problem is, KA settings doesn't applies when reboot.
