A lot of device are being supported, but not the 7.7. Can anyone make a workaround solution so that our beloved 7.7 gets this support?
Dear Friends,
does anyone have an ice cream sandwich upgrade for the lenovo ideapad k1?

There has been a noteworthy increase of traffic on the Lenovo Forums on this subject. I've followed it for several months and seen links to promises of OTA upgrade to ICS for the K1 but no results so far. Here is a link to a message that contains a link to a download of files for the OTA upgrade. Problem is, how do you use them to do the upgrade IF you download them. I'm back here at XDA to investigate whether rooting and using a mod might be preferable to waiting for Lenovo to keep its promise.
Here is the link to the aforementioned directory of OTA files for the K1 upgrade.
I've got a Lenovo S6000-H 16 G.B. (Call & Msg Enabled) Tablet with Android 4.2.2 equipped. I think Lenovo company has given up on supporting it and releasing updates.
Is there any way to upgrade its Android (For example to 4.3 or 4.4) manually? If yes, would you explain how, please?

If Lenovo is no longer offering official OS upgrades, then it would have to be an custom rom.
If you use the search bar you can find information about flashing custom roms on your tablet, but I would
suggest you really study the case first, and make sure the ROM really works for your Tablet, or you might end up with an non-booting tablet..
So at work we had this extra old tablet no one wanted, and I was told I could have it... I tried to look for a FAQ or All-in-1 guide but it appears to have been deleted by the OP.
Problem is I don't even know what I have... Is it a K1 or Yoga or what? I am no slouch in the Android area, but this device is confusing, was hoping someone could guide me a little.
In About Tablet it says:
Model Number: ThinkPad Tablet
Android Version: 3.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.36.3
Build Number: ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0024_0065_US
Machine type and model: 183825U
End result is I would like to get it on ICS or better... is that even possible? What do I look for in the Developer section to know what can work with this?
Thanks!
Well, I figured out I had a ThinkPad Tablet 1 and was able to update it to the "latest" official ICS build by downloading 6 zip files from Lenovo and loading them via SD card. I think it will serve my needs now, although I may still root and debloat or look for a CM build... Any tips would be appreciated.

Hey guys,
So I found my Lenovo Ideapad K1 wifi model in some drawer. I gave this to my sister before she got a smartphone. She took it with her to my country. Suffice to say the back cover is kind of loose, the volume down button is gone and I am surprised the screen even works. So after making sure all works I did a factory reset on it and then it hit me, it is still one 3.2 Honeycomb. I am hering that google will cut support to older androids (i.e. anything bellow 4.0). So since the tablet is working fine I want to re-purpose it! I found a kit-kat rom based on CM10 which is more than enough to give it more like, my only problem is without the functioning volume down button how do I boot into recovery to even root it?
Is it rooted ?
There are many apps available in the store which will reboot the system into recovery mode. One such is the ROM manager.
Where did you manage to get the Kitkat ROM for K1?
Can you please share the details?
