Dear developers!
Let me ask you when will the normal operating recovery*? Really for our device is harder to do than to Tab pro or Tab S ? For them, a long time ago is made and people enjoy , doing firmware, mods , etc.. Why do we so hard? Device on sale for six months, and as a result only 7.0 Table 4 recently received from the TWRP developers full recovery*. When can we expect for us?
With deep respect .
Wondering this too, I just picked up this device but I'm thinking of just returning it to get a nexus 7, as I'm not sure if this device will see L or not :/
I'm wondering this as well. I have the SM-T530NU and this thing is super nice. the hardware specs are great and with an uncrippled android os and kernel that supports overclocking it would be unstoppable. How does one go about building a proper TWRP for this thing?
If you look at that TWRP website, notice that there is a listing for TWRP 2.8 - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) Qcomm, thats very close to what we have. What is your guys model numbers? We need someone to look at the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) Qcomm TWRP and see if we could modify it easily to work on the Tab 4 10.1

Yep, I'm actually thinking of returning this device though, as I was hoping I would be able to put custom roms on it (I don't want to be stuck with Samsung's stuff.), but if TWRP is possible for our device, then that means custom roms will eventually be a thing for this I hope.

all we need is someone who has one and knows how to make android. I'ts not too bad rooted and the samsung crap taken off of it, but i agree with the custom roms statement. we need some custom roms. Cyanogen, AOSP, Beanstalk and id be happy
apparently there is a SEMI-working recovery available. Also the source for said recovery is available also. so we have a decent starting point
original thread containing recovery and source:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab...rp-2-7-1-0-galaxy-tab-4-10-1-sm-t530-t2830798
Yeah, I'm getting ready to sell it for a Tab S..
Figured this would be the best place to ask, discus or what ever else takes the fancy but I was floating the internet the other day looking up about USB OTG for my T230NU and found this...
A bit of googling didnt seem to pull up the CPU that the Brazilian "NT" varient uses... but what I am thinking is if it uses the same Marvell SoC as the T230 / T230NU would that be something that could be ported?
I Did do a quick forum search before typing this and nothing came up and thought it of potential interest
Anybody looking into this? OTG would be nice. Hate not being able to mount usb storage properly as well.

OTG support is not available on marvell variants. I don't know if the same holds tru for the sm-t237p which is a qualcomm/msm device
like the tab 4 10.1 and the tab 4 8.0
The same lack of OTG support occurs in the tab 3 line for the 7.0 models, again, marvell.
While the code is present in the kernel source, the actual required hardware components are not present on the board.
So the answer is no.

Edit- i do have a question about mounting the tab as usb-storage in recovery, either philz or twrp, does that work ?
Hello,
So I got a Lenovo Smart Tab (yt-x703f) and really want to flash TWRP to it, so I can flash LineageOS rom, but it seems like there's no support for it, or even a subthread on XDA.
(I tried various twrp images)
Anyone got some experience with that tablet and have something working?
Cheers
For some reason this device gets the silent treatment on all fora. I can't figure out why, this could be a great multimedia device with some adjustments. batt life is great as is the sound. Screen is ok ish and the speed needs to be tweaked, but no one is willing to tweak
You can root the device and even flash a GSI on it. Tested myself and everything is working
Yoga Smart Tab - Iron GreyPart Number: ZA3V0005US
Not sure if we are talking about the same device but lenovo does not support their mid tier devices with OS updates and would like to install a bloatless OS also pie is really dated and wondering if i will run in to issues with app compatibility. There is also that issue where it won't run HD in netflix because netflix is a static app and can not be removed and reinstalled. Hence bloatware and would love a clean google experience.

Flashing a GSI might help if the device supports Project Treble. Basically any device launched with Android 8 and above should support Project Treble.
Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga smart tab (YT-X705L) and I want to install a new rom on it. I’m not an IT wizard so I need help with that. Would you find anyone who can give step-by-step instructions from start to finish with download links.
And if you can find experiences on how anything works (which is GSI). Thanks in advance.

Hello @mrfreakFIN . I have made a detailed thread about flashing GSI on this tablet. Check it here
I managed to brick my Tegra Note 7 by accidentally flashing the wrong OTA . The tablet is in "APX Mode " and my computer can see it under device manager as "NVIDIA USB FOR MOBILE PHONES". ". I realize this is an older device but I still utilize it as a great option for some of the older legacy android games and "light use " cases . If any developer here could take the time to teach me how to get the device out of APX , I would really appreciate it as I have absolutely no idea what to do and there are not many of these devices left .
Does anyone here have a download of the Advent UK nvflash tool for this device ?
Please can someone help me on this ? I'm really stuck this time .
I was able to get this finally un bricked today . Admins please close this thread . If anyone finds themself in a similar situation with a apx brick I will be glad to help and thank you to all the XDA devs here that I could refer to , to get clues as to resolve this .
Hi, can you share the tools you used?

Hi moonhop7,
I recently found myself with a bricked Cherry Mobile note 7 after installing the latest OTA from the NVidia site. I've tried compiling from sources but due to outdated packages it's being a pain to compile. How did you do it, unbrick it?

I hope I'm not speaking prematurely but the Cherry Mobile Tegra 7 is a bit more complected to unbrick via APX mode . If you can get to the recovery Fastboot menu I would try re flashing the the stock rom . You should be able to find the original rom here or through Nvidia Developer . If you can't get to the Fast boot menu at all , I would suggest pouring through XDA for the signed bat you need for the Cherry Mobile and than APX flashing it - like I said though it might be different .

All the tools I used I found here at XDA . Just search the forums and read through the older post and you should be able to learn how to unbrick the Tegra Note 7
Thanks for replying moonhop7.
The device will only boot into APX mode. At least I believe it's a Cherry Mobile P1988. I've been trying to compile the NVidia images hoping that they'll miraculously have a nvflash specifically compiled for the device. The NVidia website at least says that the images are for the P1988 as sold by CM.

When I flashed my Advent Tegra Note 7 the zip file had the NV Flash in it . Read through the link bellow and see if anyone mentions a fix for the Cherry mobile . You might be able to grab NVflash here like I did but I believe there are other steps to get it to work

I have just bought the galaxy tab A8 SM-X200 and couldn't wait for it to arrive so I could play about with it and customise it, as much as I love my S21 ultra, I couldn't help being curious as to root a reasonably priced tablet before.
I managed to flash custom roms and root Sony phones before but never samsung.
Anyway I've tried a few of these one click roots but they all say the same thing; that my tablet isn't vulnerable enough but also I can't see to find a custom recovery for it either.
Could some one please help me out there. Thanks
have you found any solution ??

Notes: What's posted below is a work in progress, but it should suffice to unblock efforts to build custom ROMs for this impressive tablet. This is unofficial and unsupported, so the usual caveats apply. Since we don't flash the bootloader, you...
