Hello guys !
I was browsing on the internet when I saw that on the asus website at DOWNLOAD section appears as "Version JP_V10.6.1.8.4 - 2013.04.16" .
should we expect a new update? I still have couple of bugs with 4.2 like clock freezing sometimes and "turning off/on autosync" dialog remaining on the screen after enabling/disabling
please post here any feedback regarding your JB experience

This appears to be for JP only it is the only 4.2 I see for them.
Theres a couple thread on updates and 4.2.1 update if wanted to see what some are saying.

thanks ! it's impossible for me to follow all these topics and the ones from my samsung i9000 for udates ... as we all know time is money
In some cases, they release a special version for a particular region, things that would mean nothing to other regions. I have no doubt more updates are coming though.

It looks like just Tap N Pay was added. other than that I don't see much. Sure is not Lollipop.

Thanks for these details! I received the update about an hour ago.
I guess it fixed that annoying location found bug. So far havent seen that popup once.
What the heck? I have noticed better performance too and also data and WiFi reception has gotten better too.

I have.
So far for me reception has been overall better and also VoLTE seems to be.........working like initially intended. I'm wondering though if they changed anything that might impact battery life in anyway.
Wifi significantly improved on my turbo.
Has anyone else noticed that the KitKat easter egg in settings changed to an "S" in this update?

Lol! I hope so! I think it has something to do with the build number? Didn't the build number change with this new update? Not sure thou.

No because they won't recompile after soak.
If they did, it would break all hash checks for soakers and they would never be able to get another ota.

Mine showed up there too though and long enough that I was able to long press it and choose app info.

I guess you could tell from my avatar, that I have been interested in this for a while. So much so, that I have asked many developers (European and Chinese) to try their luck on porting the closed SmartisanOS
What is Smartisan (from the original website - The English name "Smartisan" is a portmanteau of "smart" and "artisan," signifying "artisanship in the smartphone era.")?
Well, SmartisanOS is an award winning , state of the art, designer's view on how Android should look like in order to be more pleasing to the eye, with a lot of functionality at your fingertips and at the same time keep the customisation level quite high. As they say: "With its exquisite interface, entrancing animations, near-perfect Chinese typography, and hundreds of thoughtfully designed features, SmartisanOS is a joy to use, every minute of every day." And yes I can confirm that as I have used a very very old version of it (0.997 alpha) on my previous phone (MI2).
So what is so different with it?
Well, the whole design and concept is so complete and beautiful, that it urges you to use it as it is and not modify/change anything. You don't trust me -- have a look at here. And actually to see it in action (videos in Chinese), follow the links for each application: calendar, clock, dialer, notes and weather

Quick review after 1 hour:
Apparently this ROM based on ColorOS, so no Multirom support. Have to install it as primary to be able to boot.
SuperSU 2.49 PRO and RootExplorer came pre-installed. No gapps though, you have to flash separately. I use gapps KK 20140606, but having issue downloading apps currently.
What's not working:
- camera. installing 3rd party doesn't help. edit: fixed in v2.
- USB charging. edit: apparently only issue in notification, 100% showed 10, 50% showed 5, etc..
- NFC
- flashlight
- double tap 2 wake. enabling it via kernel adiutor doesn't help.
- v2: keep getting Touchpal contact FC

Yes, I did.. It supposed to have around 50% of battery, but after flash and reboot smartisan, only 5% left. Connect USB cable to laptop, battery indicator seems fine (charging), but battery level stays at 5%. Reboot to other ROM, battery at 50%..go figure

Well it seems in the moment there just are no updates...
Normally you should get your update via ota (you should see an update option in your "main menu"), except for beta/leaked versions, if they should leak anyhow/anytime...
For now, there are no leaked or official updates for our mediapad m3 :-/

If you Google nougat for Huawei mediapad M3 there are several sites that claim they have the download you can Flash
The only thing in the about phone setting I can find about updates is updating the emui
As I know the update emui menu will also update your android (for example to android 7 + emui 5.0).
I know these sites, but as long as I do not see a link hier on xda, on the huawei news pages or on the huawei homepage itself I think these links are just nonsense.
(For example some of these pages just link every phone available and say "download XXXXX android 7 here"... I would not try to install these... But I also suppose you won't get a real package anyway there.)

Rally don't know if we ever see 7.0 for the M3.
The M2 never received 6.0, and what I heard is that Huawei just doesn't give a fu** about tablet software.
Huawei generally doesn't give a fu** about software updates. My Mediapad X2 GEM 701 never received an update. That's why I had to undergo a hugely complex updating procedure with chinese ROMs modified sh1t.
I just got the new update with October patch. They removed the navigation bar too.
How did you get this patch for your m3? Mine can not find any updates...

Actually it's the September security patch,but I got a notification in the update section. About 256mb. Took about 20 min to complete. I bought my tablet in Thailand.

I think that the NOUGAT OTA will be sent together with the new EMUI 5.0 (this version of its ui layer is based on android 7)... Anyone know an approximate date?

Correct,also it said better chrome operation,so maybe people that had problems running chrome in small format ,now can. I always had mine set in medium text and didn't have a problem. There were other things it said ,basic improvements,etc... I can't really notice any change other than the ability to disable the new buttons. Which like I said ,disables the ability to start split screen. Unless someone can tell me how to do NB it with only the fingerprint scanner......I'm also running Nova free launcher.
Plainly,this tablet is sick as F. I'm coming from a wifi only Xperia z3tablet compact though...... the only reason I bought this just because the camera Hardware had a malfunction on the Sony.

Haha haha,
Yes in a very good way. It's heavier than the z3 compact,and no water resistance,but it's smooth ,fast,and the LTE connectivity is incredible. I always have 5 bars of 4g. Now ,I live in Thailand,and the internet is crap here compared to the USA,so in the states it's probably even better. It was half the cost of a normal flag ship phone too,and it's basically a huge phone. It comes with a screen protector and a case,however the case is Carmel color and hard to look at,but it's growing on me. This tablet charges very fast too.
If your on the fence,buy it for sure.

That will be awesome. It's hard to think of this tablet being any better,and to think I almost bought a galaxy tab s2 for $70 more..,..glad I didn't.

Yes it came with playstore installed. I have no other issues. It's much better than I thought it would be.

As far as I read not all CPUs are conform with Android 7.0. The M2 has one of them. The CPU of the M3 is conform so i hope we will see the update soon.

I can tell you this, it has Alexa support, improved voice recognition for Alexa and 10X camera zoom. As far as the rest, I do not know.
The article I read about it this morning said the updates were supposed to roll out at lunch today, but nothing on mine.

Nope and honestly its trash. Tried to set a timer and said it couldnt. Immediately put it in a hidden folder never to be seen again.
However this update has a bunch of bug fixes.
Dropzone popups when accepting permissions is gone
Ok google popup in the camera and other apps is gone
Screenshot now works on the first try
iheartradio doesnt shut off when the screen sleeps anymore.
Thats all ive found so far. Add those plus the 10x zoom and Id say its a great update.

C567B183 is available on firmware finder.
Currently using a US Mate 9 in Hong Kong and it's getting the B183 firmware now!! I was previously on the B167 firmware.
It's got the March security updates too!
