Question about Mi note 2

Hello,
in those days I'm wondering if changing my Xiaomi Mi 5s with the Note 2.
I can buy the internation version 4/64 gb new for 250 euro.
My doubts are: display and camera quality?
Because I've read in many review that the amoled is not so bright, reflective, and has a blue tone!
And camera, what about the quality of the shots?

To be honest I would say it is not worth the change, I have upgraded from Nexus 5x
The screen :
- not very bright indeed
- as you wrote blue tint is visible ( especially around the edges )
- vissible grain effect and average sharpeness
Camera :
- for sure not as good as camera in Nexus 5x
- poor photo quality in low lighting
- as far as I know and read mi5s has overall better photo quality

Redmi note 5 pro camera port for mi a1

Hi,
I actually saw some reviews of the latest REDMI NOTE 5 PRO . It also comes with a rear dual camera setup (12 MP + 5 MP) and a 20 MP front camera. It has EIS enabled when shooting videos with the rear camera (Something that still lacks in MI A1) . It also has portrait mode in the front camera (Also absent in Mi A1).
So, can anyone bring that camera bring that camera apk or something like that.
I know there are many Google camera threads present for this device but they require root. which i dont wanna do to my device .

Mi A1 with Google camera or Redmi Note 5 Pro

Hey guys! I just wanted to know is Mi A1 with Google camera performs better than Redmi Note 5 Pro or not.In stock Camera comparison Redmi Note 5 Pro is a clear winner but what happens with Google camera port.Can someone please compare and post some images and video samples of comparisons.

Mi A1 with GCam should be noticeably better than stock Redmi Note 5 Pro but, the Redmi will surely be able to run it too (just give it some time). The 5 pro should be better once it gets it. It is also packing a somehow superior sensor, Sony's IMX 486 while the A1 is running a generic omnivision sensor.

Redmi Note 5 Pro also can use GCam port later. So guess...who is the winner ?

Current - it would be the Mi A1 with GCam . Soon , once the Note 5 Pro do have the Gcam installed , then my guess it will be better than the Mi A1 . Looking at the N5 Pro comes with a better lenses installed .

Yes mi a1 is batter far from note 5 and 5 pro.
MI A1 IS BEST MOBILE TILL TODAY 19-2-18-... USE IS CHEERAFULLY:laugh:

Hey guys, I've been using the 6 GB variant for a while now and everything is good but the video stabilization is abysmal, both with GCAM and the stock app. The EIS stutter is prominent and makes the video almost unusable even when shot outdoors. The RN5P in contrast has excellent video stabilization. This just hurts me.
Because the stabilization is gyroscope based on both devices, I was wondering if we could port the the RN5P camera app to our phone. Or even that of the MI A2 will do I guess?

Hi Bro.
I have tested some of GCam Mod from @Arnova8G2 and @bsg . My device is Nokia 6.1 Plus TA-1116 running Pie
GCam ver 6 has nightsight fitur, GCam ver 5 has no nightsight fitur. For Nokia 6.1Plus who want use night sight fitur can use latest apk from arnova/bsg, however with some bugs because they are still develop using they own device and there is not yet stable version for GCam ver6.
BSG apk ver 6 with night sight:
- almost all works. Some of problem that I found is:
- viewfinder slow (although you disable dirty lens, it's still the same)
- photo result a bit bluish (over blue tint, i dont know it's because the apps, the lens, or the lcd screen)
- photo result a bit more vivid, not natural
- a bit darker result than ver5
- HDR+ Enhanced result not crispy detail like ver5 (i use ver5 in MiA1 running oreo and it's very good result, maybe because BSG use Mi8). In Nokia 6.1 Plus with Pie, HDR+ Enhanced from ver6 apk has soft result, like you use beauty fitur. Then I tested ver5 GCam in nokia 6.1 plus, result is the same, a bit soften. Don't know because the apps or because the lens, as i know Nokia 6.1 plus use samsung lens, not sony lens.
- Night Sight works but with to much noise
- Slow Mo crash
- Portrait mode works with soften result
In BSG there is setting to change front and back camera type like Nexus 6P, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 Xl, I have try all setting but still the same result a bit soften.
Arnova8G2 apk ver 6 with night sight:
- All image result almost the same with BSG, Arnova has more natural color result. But still in the same soften image even though you use HDR+ Enhanced
- Night sight better, but still in slow viewfinder, maybe because Nokia 6.1 Plus device cpu that use snapdragon 636
- Slow Mo crash
- Portrait mode result has the same with BSG
Ver 5 Gcam Arnova and BSG all works fine, but HDR+ Enhanced not a crispy like I use in MiA1
Overall, many thanks for all developer like @Arnova8G2 and @bsg who works for this GCam Mod. I'm not developer, but try to support with testing in my device. And all of you can help them with test in your device and give feedback result to them. Thankyou.

and colour production is more pink. please fix it

Toylan has release new GCam Mod's update. Not sure it's work or not. Check in Chelso Azevedo web, and report in here.

Unrelated but can you specifiy which build you are using for the Mi A1? I own one and I'm still using Arnova's v1 because I think it takes the most crispiest images I've tested yet, and all other builds don't have a longer exposure time resulting in worse HDR too.

Right now I'm using Arnova's V8.3b1 in Mi A1. This is Gcam mod from base 5.1 ver. Yes you right bro, this version the most crispiest and the best. Like Arnova's says, Hdr doesn't work since Gcam based ver 5.3.
I try to install V8.3b1 in Nokia 6.1 plus, the result is very different than MiA1. HDR still more crispy in MiA1 with the same setting (with "Nexus 6P setting is on). In Nokia 6.1 Plus looks like a bit soften/blurry.

I'm using this build now, will review it later. First Impression is pretty good. The only downside is laggy viewfinder. Will make a new main thread about Google Cam port later.

For me it works flawless, no crashes. BTW I have chosen profile of Pixel 3 in configuration

In my device, after the pie v3.5F update, the arnova latest version is unable to save photos taken from the back camera in night mode, can anyone help?
