Pixel Experience Mi Max 3 Working

Hi all I have finally got the Pixel experience rom booted on my mi max 3 with the fixes from this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-3/how-to/guide-android-9-pie-aosp-phh-treble-rom-t3862708
To do is it takes a while but is worth it latest update 11/01/2019 is stable
ok here we go
first you need to flash or factory reset your phone on the latest china beta so as of today its 9.1.10
next downlaod the xiaomi.eu rom latest rom whatever it is

OK HERES HOW TO INSTALL IT
FIRST COPY ALL FILES ABOVE TO YOUR PHONE THEN FOLLOW THIS GUIDE
Flash the original China dev via miflash (no lock Bootloader option tick). Because the original China dev Fastboot Rom recreate the original Partitions.
Start the system until welcome Screen(don't know why but it was one solution)
Then in Fastboot mode: Fastboot format userdata
Then flash newest original twrp in Fastboot. USING THE ALL IN ONE TOOL
Then install xiaomi.eu
Start system until welcome screen.
Reboot to recovery
Factory reset
Reboot to recovery
Install PixelExperienceP-arm64-aonly.IMG FROM 11/01/2019
Reboot recovery
Install magisk 18.0
REBOOT RECOVERY AGAIN
MOUNT AND MAKE SURE VENDOR IS MOUNTED
NOW FLASH THE ZIP FILE FOR THE FIXES
Reboot to system
HOPEFULLY IN ABOUT 5 MINUTES THE PHONE SHOULD BOOT UP ENJOY

What? Mi Max 3 has just "nitrogen" codename.
"helium" and "hydrogen" are just Mi Max 1! First one is equipped with Snapdragon 652, second one is equipped with Snapdragon 650. I guess that if you'll flash helium/hydrogen firmware on nitrogen you'll get bricked

I agree, they all have too many issues. It's been 7 months now and we don't have any custom ROM's despite this being one of the most popular Xiaomi phones (according to their offical forums and rom download stats), so why the hell is nooone developing for it? At this rate the Mi Max 4 will be out before the we even have a single native custom ROM.

I to was pissed off because there are no custom romI order another phone, not xiaomi and when i receive it will sell my mi max 3.I am not sure that will try xiaomi phones again..

I'm currently using Miui PRO - latest version and it is Android 9 - working flawlessly, no errors found so far and battery is pretty amazing Go on and try it guys, it's the best thing and it is regularly updated. Not changing my Mi Max 3 for anything so far. The russians have done amazing job with this rom

Havoc 2.0 is epic on this phone guys. I have been using for over a month now and its solid. Few issues were BT audio and adaptive brightness for which there are fixes. I using it right now and its solid and as stable as can be

TIP--- if you cant get to boot using the xiaomi.eu rom with the latest vendor file like 9.3.14 etc
consider using the xiaomi.eu rom with the earlier pie vendor like 8.12.23 because it also boots most of the Nfound Roms.

You forgot AOSiP which is the best one right now as everything works even has gestures too. Also mention that if people cant get to boot using latest vendor file like 9.3.14 etc that they should consider and earlier pie vendor like 8.12.23 as that boots most of these. Good post mate keep it up

That's only applicable with stock roms mate not custom and GSI.

Why is it necessary to install xiaomi.eu before flashing the custom rom?

Cause it's better than stock for flashing. I don't know the exact reason is but it is a better base. The vendors also seem to be flash friendly

Hi all, I'm wondering why we haven't any AOSP roms or ports from Pixel? I like one ui and all this staff but pure android seems to me be more exciting, even on our galaxies

You can use GSI roms on all Treble devices , use A/B scheme, even Android Q at your own risk , greater if you own a Exynos S10+

Im okay even with Android Pie, but still we dint have even it (roms ports). Can you actually explain smth about gsi roms? As i understood we need to cimpile it with our kernel etc. ?

Yeah, i checked it(twrp) up, it's really strange and scares) on htc hero it was much easy xD and about gsi seems that it really can work, maybe someday will try, if anybody haven't do it yet

Wi-Fi works properly , fingerprint does not, although it is recognized. Default font size is very small, next bigger to big. Reverting to previous rom seems to be difficult, as it gets into boot loop. Only few languages available, no french, german or spanish.

to see this issue go to download an app from play store
see that at first it is ok but after a while it goes slow! So SLOW!

My Wi-Fi is working reasonably fast. And I figured out how to get the fingerprint working. I installed Always on Fingerprint AOF https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-fingerprint-mi-5-mi-note-2-t3660179 and it works perfectly. I think I will stick a while with MIUI 10, in the first place because GPS is working out of the box and I had to use GPS Locker to get it working on RR.

Is this compatible with the redmi 3 (not pro) ?

You can log into mi account and you must if you have registered the device before, because you are asked to login before you can finish installation. MIUI 10 is quite slow on this device, fingerprint does not work most of the time.

performance is ok
and i think it's not bad for daily usage
at least give it a try!

Based on your experience and previous suggestions (Mokee Rom) I would like to see if you could recommend a stable ROMs based on MIUI, whether Android Oreo, Android Pie or Android Q ... I would like the MIUI experience but I do not like the idea of ​​having to downgrade the Android version.
Or inclusive if you can give me your Top of stable custom or final version ROMS for the Redmi 3 Ido (If you included a MIUI based ROM it would be perfect).

you can try this miui11 for a while it's not that bad
but it's not that stable as mokee 9.0 is
and sadly i have to say that there is no stable miui base rom

Working ROM for Markw in late 2021?

Hi,
As of December 2021, is there an alternative ROM that would reliably work for Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime?
I am asking because the standard MIUI ROM has not been updated for years and I am having quite a few glitches - I think, because of that. For example, Vivaldi browser and Fairemail frequently crash, as well as some other programs.
I am looking for something that would, really, just work, hardware- and software-wise. With no bugs. At least with no serious bugs.
My understanding is that the choice is not wide. Please report if you have tested a ROM that works for Redmi 4 Prime in late 2021. I don't want to throw away this phone.

I'm using the unofficial CrDroid by redispade and it's amazing. Best ROM i've used, everything works just fine except that I couldn't get device encryption working properly but if you don't need it it's a great Android 10 ROM.

That's the thing. I need encryption to keep my data safe.
I wonder if Lineage OS has any encryption issues. I read that when the drive is encrypted, you cannot use fingerprint unblocking. Perhaps there are issues with encryption itself, too.

In my opinion, actually, the best Rom out there is lineage 17.1, in terms of stability, whole functionality and amazing battery backup, poor about the feature just in line with lineage tradition (just the possibility to reboot or power off in notification panel).
Of course the encryption make problematic the fingerprint recognition, as each interesting cusrom for Markw!

In my experience, nowadays, the 17 is more stable to 18 (every @ShihabZzz works is absolute accurate). You can try also mokee 9 or 10 and i suggest you orange fox recovery, the last one official 10.1 to try encryption (sorry but i never used encryption in my devices!)

Thanks, Autokoise. I have asked to confirm if the bug disappeared in the newer LOS versions.

I am using ported miui rom NSA based on miui eu.I am happy with it.It is android 9.I have no major bugs but I don't use encryption sao I can't tell you nothing about it.I tried many roms.Crdroid ,arrowos ,havoc lineage os bit I prefer ported miui.It is so sad that markw never get official android version update.
