problem with encryption - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hi guys , today i unlocked bootloader and i installed twrp and after i installed lineage but whenever i boot twrp or phone it asks me a password to start android . I already tried to wipe data but the problem showed up again , is there any solution ? Thank you in advance for any help .

Install this TWRP :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3921637
Format the data, then wipe for factory reset.
Reboot to system.
If no problem, then reboot to recovery and install Lineage.
Reboot to system.
Reboot back to recovery if you want to flash Magisk.
Hope that works.

Hello, I have a similar
problem : when i flashed the twrp recovery i forgot to wipe the user data and now the recovery doesn't work. I tried to reflash TWRP recovery but doesn't work. Sometimes also if I don't have pin , password etc is asked a password to unlock the device but each password I put is wrong . To solve I have to reset all userdata by fastboot but each time I turn off and turn on the telephone is asked again .. how can I fix the password error and reflash TWRP ? (fastboot , boot, system partition, ADB and FASTBOOT drivers work well , Xiaomi redmi note 7)

In your situation I'd flash official miui fastboot rom, of course without relocking the bootloader.
PS. did you try to put 20 times a wrong pin?

If I install it with update app the bootloader will be locked ?

In miflash you have to select the option "clean all" if you don't want to lock the bootloader. Otherwise, if you want to relock the bootloader, you have to choose the option "clean all and lock".
Fastboot rom is useful to solve bugs or issues like your.

So to do this I have to use my PC with miflash program and I can't do it with only my phone z right ?

I read on 4pda forum (with translator) that it should give the option to format data or something like that.
Are you able to use the phone? Because i've seen you sent previous messages with tapatalk on RN7. If yes you should try to remove your passoword/pin/pattern from android settings and try access twrp again.
You can also try the new official orangefox recovery.
At the end you have the official fastboot rom solution.

I formatted userdata so the password isn't asked again and the stock recovery is working ... But if I try to reflash TWRP the problem return ... I would use TWRP but how can I resolve? (Anyway if the password is asked again I try to put the pin 20 times)

I have the same problem on my redmi note 7 pro and it is showing that encryption was interrupted also and its asking to erase all data. I was using Evolution X 5.2 and I was on orange fox recovery to flash custom kernel. I flashed and tried to reboot to system, then it shows me the error of encryption interruption and asked me to erase all data. When I tried to do that my phone did not boot into orange fox recovery. Orange fox recovery screen was shown and it took me to encryption interrupted screen again. It was like the recovery was corrupted. After flashing twrp recovery through fastboot mode I tried to boot into recovery. But this time it stuck on redmi logo, it seems my phone has no recovery, neither custom nor stock. I am unable to do anything with my phone. Please help.

Have you tried to flash stock rom & recovery in fastboot ? https://xiaomirom.com/en/rom/redmi-note-7-7s-lavender-global-fastboot-recovery-rom/ Or maybe with miflash https://www.xiaomiflash.com

Is your nexus unlocked? Try one of the tutorials / unlock tools in the dev section.
Getting into recovery mode: Push and hold the volume up and down buttons and then push the on/off button. you should switch to the recovery mode with the volume keys and confirm with on/off.

There is a bug in the bootloader where you cannot go to recovery from it without a computer.
Connect to a computer, reboot to bootloader and then go to recovery from there.
Or just install quick boot from playstore

Nope it doesn't work. I'm having the same issue but i'm getting the android with the triangle every time I try to enter the recovery regardless of whether its from the bootloader or via adb reboot recovery. I restored the stock JRO03D factory image from fastboot but the recovery doesn't seem to be written. I tried both locked and unlocked bootloader while restoring the N7 to stock but that didn't work either. It's such a PITA considering i'm RMA on a screen defect and I can't seem to restore it to total stock.
Can anybody help me? Please?

Just make sure the computer is on
Then connect it via USB
Hold power+vol down as you normally would and go to bootloader
Select recovery, and it should not stay on the google logo this time.
You might need fastboot/adb drivers installed, I don't know. You can get them from a toolkit. Its easy with adb to get to recovery, all you have to do is connect and type "adb reboot recovery" in a command prompt.

TWRP 3.0.2 hanging

Hey, as you probably read I'm trying to boot into my recovery TWRP 3.0.2 except it just stays on the splashscreen. For some reason i decided to factory reset my phone (it's been an incredibly long week) and I'm stuck. What do I do?
Edit: Now my phone isn't rooted for some unexplained reason. Basically how do i just get rid of it all and start from scratch because that's looking like the best option right now.
Thanks

7.0. Although i factory reset the phone apparently nothing was deleted and I can still use the phone normally but still no twrp
Same issue when updating to PN 7.0 from DU 6.0. Clean flash with the exception of my PN gapps failed during install. So I'm stuck with no gapps. I sideloaded a few google apps & the wont work. I have the phone back up to a usable state, but I can't sign in to my google accounts.

If you wipe the phone or update Android, when you flash TWRP you have to boot into recovery and root it before booting the system or you will always lose TWRP.
Also, you need TWRP 3.0.2-3. What are you trying to do with only those steps?

First, did you read my first comment? You can't use the version of TWRP You are. Flash the newest one from fastboot and see if that fixes it. Beyond that, it is pretty much impossible to know what is going on in your case. If you can't boot into recovery after updating, I would fastboot flash a factory image and go back to stock and start again.

You can only recognize the phone in one of those modes at a time. In bootloader you can only use fastboot, so if you can't get into recovery you can't use ADB. So you can boot your phone normally, but you can't get into recovery? What exact steps are you using to get into recovery?
Normally I wouldn't suggest it, but have you tried one of the toolkits? I don't like them but they can be helpful.

I've tried using the phones power menu option to reboot into recovery, I've used the bootloader to try and boot into recovery and I've tried turning the phone off entirely the booting directly into recovery.
I attempted to use the fastboot flash user data route while in the bootloader but I couldn't get the phone to show up using the command prompt "fastboot devices"
My device hung when I tried to get into recovery & when i tried to flash a new recovery.img it wouldn't take. The only thing that worked for me was to
Fastboot format user data
Fastboot format cache
Flash stock Google nbd90x

Redmi 3s bricked

Hi there!
I tried to flash a mi-globe ROM to my redmi 3s and i totally bricked it, need help with. I followed these steps:
-Unlock bootloader with Mi unlock. It says it was already unlocked.
-Flash TWRP via fastboot.
-Flash ROM mi-globe with all wipes.
Now, i can only boot in fastboot mode. When i try to boot normal or into recovery mode, the "mi" logo appears just for a sec and the phone turns off. I also try to flash MIUI global ROM with Miflash but it throws me the error "Critical partition flashing is not allowed". Trying to enter the edl mode says bootloader is locked (problaby it wasn't unlocked first time??). Mi PC Suite doesn't recognize mi phone neither. Any ideas? i don't know what else to try.
Try flashing some other ROMs.

Unbricking Redmi 3S after Bootloop
I was facing the same issus. I am currently on newest Xiaomi.EU version and made a mistake during Magisk-Flashing via TWRP. Result was a Bootloop after nearly 10sec. Booting to Dev-Menu/Recovery was not possible, but fastboot worked. I didn't wanted to flash a completely new and official Rom via Fastboot (typical unbricking-method of Xiaomi with MiFlash etc.) because there is no fastboot-rom of Xiaomi.EU and i wanted to keep my data and my rom!
Here's my solution:
Download ADB/Fastboot drivers and extract them
copy twrp*.img from here to the same directroy as fastboot
open terminal and go to the directory
Boot Redmi 3S to fastboot-mode with Power + Vol-
run "fastboot boot TWRP-3.2.0-0-unnoficial-oreo-land.img"
Device should now reboot to recovery. (that's not the solution!)
Now I flashed Xposed-Uninstall.zip, Magisk-Uninstall.zip, cleared Dalvik-Cache and installed the latest Xiaomi.EU OTA-Update.zip
Reboot: et voila, everything works perfectly again.

Service center? Either they'll flash the stock ROM or change motherboard(if found hard-bricked or rooted) with a locked bootloader. Flashing the stock ROM doesn't take time, maximum 30 mins(including hardware checks).
Maybe you should try to enter the EDL with deep flash cable, then flash the global ROM from MiFlash Tool

TWRP 3.2.0-0 for X720 (ZL1) not working

Hi,
has anyone also problems with the new TWRP version for X720 ZL1. I've downloaded it from https://dl.twrp.me/zl1 and installed it with fast boot:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
I can reboot to recovery but then the screen keeps black. Then I have to long press the power button to force a reboot. I could flash again TWRP 3.1.1 and now reovery is working again. I hoped to prepare my system for the upcoming OREO builds.
Kind regards
