Which Rom do you want to flash ..?
Regarding apps, root your phone using superoneclick and make a backup using titanium backup from market.. Once you flash the new Rom you can have all your apps and data as they were by restoring the backup..

There are two kinds of backup/restore...
One backs up the actual firmware/rom the other kind of backup backs up applications
which are installed in your phone.
The best for application backup/restore "Titanium Backup" (it does backup game and application data)
The best way to backup your entire firmware/rom is by using TWRP recovery.
Twrp can be installed using "goomanager" a app which you can download from playstore,
Titanium backup is also an app you can download from the playstore.
Good luck!

[Q] Best way to use (Titanium)Backup

Hey guys,
I am currently trying out some ROMs and for that I wanna know how to restore my apps/data the quickest way. Got TitaniumBackup Pro and I tried to create a update.zip with my wanted apps for which I don't want to backup the data manually but instantly when I startup the new ROM. But the .zip install failed in TWRP after I flashed the ROM and GApps. Or is the update.zip not what I want for that?
But even when I recover the backup for some apps, some of them still kinda need some extra work like LightFlow or SwiftKey and the Facebook Messenger App. For example some of them need notification settings changed etc. Is there any way to avoid doing that every time?
Also, I know there was some change in the backup directory from 4.2 to 4.3 in TB where you have to change to legacy or something but why do I still have to do that when switching between 4.3 ROMs? Or can I fix that by deleting all my backup and doing another backup so it will be in the new "right" directory?

Help regarding root access in marshmallow..

Hi guys...
Been trying out every marshmallow ROM out there..
> Tried both CM & AOSP based ROMs.
>Tried supersu v2.46, v2.52, & v2.66
Issues :
>Not able to delete system apps (not a major issue, can live with it)..
>Not able to restore app's data (i'm using ultimate backup..)
I know that root access is provided much earlier, Thanks to Chainfire
Just wanted to know whether i'm missing something..
Thanks in advance buddies :good:
I am running titanium backup and other root based apps on cm13 just by enabling root option from developer option.
The problem must be with the app and not the ROM.
So try different backup app ( Titanium Backup is the best )

Ultimate backup doesn't work. I tried it too.
Use Titanium ( I know UI sucks but still :3 )
SuperSU also wasn't able to update binaries :|
Try Super backup. It can work without root also
Try Titanium Backup, it works. i was facing the same issue.

Actually Titatium did not work with my CM13 ROM (kumajaya) because it could not find a writable directory on my SdCard. But I moved the backups to SdCard\data\com.keramidas\TitaniumBackup and now it works flawlessly

Need to transfer apps and data from S5 to S8

Hi,
I got a new S8 yesterday and I am unable to use smart switch to transfer my apps and data to S8 from S5. I have CRdroid custom ROM on my S5 and I installed the Smart Switch app on S5 from google play store.
When i start the app on my S5, I get some error saying the "signining key is mismatched between the app and the firmware. Please check and reinstall ENG_APk to ENG_Firmaware or USER_APK to USER_Firmaware. Smart switch does not work if signining key is mismatched"
I would like to know if any of you have a solution to resolve this issue or any other method of transferring the apps and data from S5 to S8.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards
Sada
Make sure both phones are rooted
Install Titanium Backup on your S5 and backup all your user apps with data
Once finished go to your internal storage in your s5 and copy the folder TitaniumBackup to internal storage of your s8 and install Titanium Backup on the S8 and restore your data
Done

CRDroid is a custom rom based off lineageOS/AOSP. Smart switch only works on samsung (based) roms. That's why you get the key error.

For the same reason as above 99% of the time this will not work. You can't simply "copy" on AOSP and "paste" on Samsung roms. And even IF it works most likely there will pop up errors here and there.
My advise: Start with a clean slate.
All,
Thanks a lot for your responses and suggestions. I got my answer.

Sada
