iOS 8 for Ace (Android ROM-Mod)

Hi all!
This is iOS ROM for Ace, ported from Gio
I named it i7 (CyanogenMod) and it's based on JoyOS
ROM is fully updated (system, graphics and apps)
and of course is bug free Everything works great!
Nice UI and good performance, battery life makes this
ROM the best (in my opinion).

How to install
------------
You must have stock 2.3.x before install
1. Press menu+power when phone is off
2. Choose install "CWM" zip package
3. Take out the battery and again menu+power
when phone is off
4. Choose install zip package of ROM
5. Choose Reboot and wait
6. Do wipe (data and cache)
7. That's all

just installed this rom . .
this is one of the best themed roms I have seen.
I'm not an ios fan but the cool animations and overall smooth operation
of the rom has to be tried to be believed.!
The white/grey and tiny fonts in Settings make some of the "ios look" difficult
for my eyes to see, but the little details like themed sliders, butons and animations make this rom
stand out from the crowd.

wifi bug fix
After a clean install I noticed wifi not working. After some testing,
info on the wifi module showed : vermagic: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL1095098 preempt mod_unload ARMv6
. . which does not match the included kernel.
this one matches the kernel : vermagic: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL882825 preempt mod_unload ARMv6
I have included a zip for easy install through cwm. Works nicely for me, hope this is helpful.

Does anyone got to work mounts2sd to extend their internal memory? It worked for me in other roms, but I can't do it on this one...

Here is a page about my script for porting ROMs.
This script will not make You a developer.
If You will public that port on xda or somewhere, please write author of this script,
and remember that uploading ROMs on xda need update sometimes.
Please don't post that number of port that You can't handle to update.
Main goal:
- full automatic script that port ROMs from other devices.
- support block and non-block based ROMs
ROMs based on lollipop and marshmallow mostly are based on block build but not all
Second goal:
- Support all devices
For DEVs
If You know BASH language and want help me, Send me private mess.

Request:
- linux
- zip
- python 3.x
- exec permission for ALL files
Usage:
Port is ROM that You want to port.
Base is ROM that You want as base for that port. (have to work with Your device!)
- Rename port ROM to port.zip and paste to port folder.
- Rename base ROM to base.zip and paste to base folder.
- Run script with ./run.sh
Remember that all files (expect ROMs) need exec permission.
Without that permission You will get only problems.
- Pick up done.zip from done folder
- Rename it in installer.
At META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script and find ROM name in ui_print(" ");
- If You will public port at xda or somewhere, please write author of this script, thanks!

A: No, script is fully automatic. But remember: that script will not make You a dev.

A: Block and non-block builds. In normal language: all packed in zip that have recovery support.

So You don't need to worry about any problems or something.
If problem automaticly quit and print what goes bad.
And Roms will not break Your phone.

All linux is linux so elementary is ok too. 4GB is enough because one ROM based on AOSP and CM have less then 500MB, script don't use any of space because removing file from one rom and paste from second. If You will port stock like sony (~1.5GB) or samsung (~2GB) maybe You will not have enough.
Maybe today will be first version with block block script. but other will be easller then block block.
If ROMs don't use block block, script will automaticly quit and inform what rom don't have block structure.

Script is in pauze status.
Too much work at once.
Now script not work correctly without some fixes.
When I will get oneplus3 then I make that tool from zero.
Block is mostly used in Loli+ roms.
That script will not support raw porting, so any OEM roms (Samsung, sony) propobly will not work.

Will this work on other Samsung phones like the a series or j series? Because there's no ROM for the a series so the only only ROM available is the stock 5.1.1 and stock Europe 6.0

This script isn't very useful as S3 is based on Exynos 4412 which is only used by S3 3G/4G, Note 2 3G/LTE and certain Lenovo phone unless we are talking about S3 3G to S3 4G ports, this might be useful then

Script will support all phones and all aosp roms.
(Maybe will support OEM roms but I will not support that roms officialy at begin)

I posted this on s3 forum because I testing this on s3 at the moment.
Why on i9300 this isn't useful?
Porting aosp roms don't stack You to port roms from the same platform.

About the last one you're wrong. You can't port S4 i9505(for example) CM13 to I9300, both devices uses different platforms. It's just not that easy

You have certainly no idea what you're talking about... Hope you're not calling yourself a dev. You can't port Exynos to Snapdragon and vice versa... To show me I'm wrong, use ur 'magic' tool to port i9505 AOSP+OMS rom to i9300. Sure you can port it but you CAN'T boot it...

BUT FIRST :
Do a clean install first, wipe everything.
Make sure you don't use modifications (flash clean, try again)
Check the closed issues
Check google first, there might already be solutions
Explain and give details, add logs as much as possible
How to install:
It's usually a good idea to download the newest build version. Just install it via recovery. I tested it on TWRP but it should also work on other recoveries.
You will also need gapps if you want to use Google services. stock OpenGApps - use the arm64 versions.
How to install TWRP - I don't support unlocking bootloader, installing TWRP or the ROM, you should know what you do first or start learning.

easy fix : wait tomorrow, flash beta 2
"I'm not gonna wait" fix : flash the rom, edit /system/build.prop
and delete the line :
(line ~148)
"persist.radio.multisim.config=dsdsro.mediatek.platform=MT6735"

The ROM work fine... My second Sim is recognized but only works on "edge" or GSM and the internet connection speed is too slow..

So... Before one year, we were excited about getting "Nougat" and now we're talking about "Oreo" Isn't amazing?
I decided, again lol, to make a new thread about the new version of Android. I read the last few comments in nougat thread but I think will be more organized and clear if there is a new thread about it. For now, we only have one rom - Unofficial version of LineageOS but I have a good feeling about this. Soon, when everything becomes, one idea more stable, the rest will follow :fingers-crossed: . I will try to keep updated this thread with everything around Oreo

Currently, I'm completely stock so I didn't test any of the stuff below. As always, do a backup before you try anything.

What about PiP (Picture in Picture)? How do I use it?
You can find it in Settings - apps & notifications - advanced - special app access - picture-in-picture. If you try to use Google maps and press the home button you will see its already working. And no, you cant use it for YouTube app but works with videos from Google Chrome that are not from YouTube.

Bugs you may meet in Oreo: Some users report that those things don't work, or may happen to you:
-Video recording ---> Works ONLY with Footej Camera
-Memory Card Bug
Each time restart phone it asks for setting up memory card which never goes away. The simple solution for this headache is to pause the notification for 2 hours by swiping notification.

Format your SD Card as Internal memory and you won't see any notification.
-Black screen while listening to music and trying to unlock the phone or simply when to try to unlock it
-HTC Duo Camera. Don't ask about this feature.It doesn't work on any LineageOS/AOSP based rom. Stock rom and GPE only. ​

Make a backup before you try anything.Need to be on the last version of the firmware (Marshmallow), and use the last version of twrp recovery - 3.2.1.0 to avoid any issues. ​

Last night I tested LOS 15. I can't belive how fast is it and smooth. It's even faster than Nougat. I even was wondering to try to stay with it xD But then random reboots start happening so ... I guess we will wait a litte bit xD Anyway my point was it's look very promising and its very good for alpha .

I hope you got logs of those random reboots. I was using it for three days and didn't suffer from any reboot

In TWRP go to WIPE then advance, select only SYSTEM then select repair or change file system menu. In this menu select resize partition, swipe to resize. Completed, main menu reboot - recovery
Your system partition back to normal .. you can restore your backup or install ROM
You also can do this right after you installed Oreo & gapps before you reboot. Later once you get bored, no need to repeat the process, simply restore backup or install other ROM

Last time I search I didn't find any working mod with Oreo, for now, other way I would put them in the first post. Can't say about the footej, any error?

As of now there's no audio mods that I've found to be compatible with LOS 15. I've tried all forms of V4Android, V4Arise, Deuteronomy, Ainur, Magnum Opus, HK, LITERALLY anything and everything I can find has been flashed trying to find a solution for us. Spent over 24 hours flashing mods to get bootloops or FC's. LOS 15 audio quality is good but I want the best possible sound as I listen to music on different devices "daily". I'll update here when I find something compatible or the normal mods are updated. If anyone knows of something "working" it would be great it you shared. Thanks

I don't think any audio mod will work for now until devices where the audio mod are taken from are updated/released with Oreo.
Any equalizer app in Play Store won't work too, complaining no AudioFX to work with.
A friend with N6P on stock Oreo has same problem, so it is not only M8 issue.

Nope as their previous release broke my gps app & also the mod made the black screen issue worse, frequent instead of random.

Battery is so good and i install google camera. the system was perfect now.

I think 4 columns to check in twrp - cache, dalvik cache, data, system and then swipe to wipe

system.img is the treble rom (a only) that you have to download. You get a zip that you have to extract, in there is the system.img
