Hello peeps,
I wonder if any of you folks with an HD2, use it with Bluetooth A2DP and satnav?
My predicament is this...
I am a motorcyclist, and occasionally listen to music from my HD2 via a Bluetooth A2DP helmet. It works great, with good sound quality and no skipping of music tracks using Manilla Music Player.
I also have Garmin Mobile XT, which I often use in the car, and the voice prompts and directions work great through the HD2 internal speaker.
However, if I want to use Garmin Mobile XT with my BT Helmet, it works OK, with the exception that audio coming from Mobile XT seems clipped right at the beginning. For example, the instruction:
"Drive 3.4 miles, then keep left." - which is how it would sound through the internal speaker...
...will more often than not sound like...
".(point) 4 miles, then keep left." - when heard through the helmet.
As you can imagine, it would be quite dangerous to have to keep looking at the screen to confirm instructions, and you can believe how confusing this is when actually on the road and relying on voice direction only.
I have searched thorugh all of the HD2 forums for the tags 'bluetooth' and 'audio', found some similar issues that peeps were having with music player playback stuttering and the like, and tried some of the remedies offered by other forum dweller (like the increase file cache, line rate, etc), but to no avail.
As a computer professional, I am inclined to say that the symptons seem like a buffering or issue. But obviously, I am not a cellualr expert, so I will leave the really diagnosis for the pro's here ;-P
Perhaps one other lucky HD2 owner will have experienced (and hopefully had solved) a similar issue (perhaps not with the BT helmet tho ;-P).
Thanks for taking the time to read my post, and I'd greatly appreciate any feedback anyone has to offer.
Rgds,

Me Too!
I'm using a Samsung SBH-650 Bluetooth Stereo Headset, and I get exactly the same thing! I've no idea about a solution, but at least you know you're not alone.
I have the same with Jabra BT530. No reaction from HTC, no solution here.
i saw once a thread about a similar problem.
there they wrote that the bt-chipset which is used by htc for the hd2 is a Broadcomchip. They told, that there are some differences between the os and the chip and something about the problem, that it switches to standby mode too early or something like this.
this could be the issue. your phone turns the chip too early in standby mode and you cant hear the whole sentence cause it needs time to turn it on again.
sorry mate, im not having a solution, but thats something i read. maybe it helps.

Bluetooth is a slow (imagine RS-232) comms protocol that was designed primarily for local audio connection. EDR (Ehanced data rate) was brought on for high data rate stereo connections.
If you want stereo audio connection, simutaneous phone connection and GPS connection running while all the associated SW packages are running in your phone, then you are asking a hell of a lot of even a 2.5Ghz laptop!
PLEASE, lets get the device in perspective......
Hello,
Sorry for my english.
I'm biker too, i'm using a Parrot BT Headset and i've got no problem.
I'm listen to music (with S2P) and using copilot live at the same time without problem.
Sometimes instead of S2P, i'm listening to webradio (with Wunderadio) and using copilot live without problem...
Listening radio or music allow that the BT channel is always up.
regards,
Thierry
i'm not a motorbiker, but i use bluetooth headset for listening music.
When wifi is on, and there is not wlan accessible, bluetooth lags every 30 seconds when trying to connect.
I'm reviving this ancient thread, cause I'm having a similar problem with my HTC Amaze and it's driving me nuts.
Sound is played back with about 2 seconds lag, very, very annoying. Never had any issues with my Motorola Droid...
Can anyone explain why this is happening and if there is a possible fix/hack?
Help?!
unfortunately when i connect bluetooth to my car radio the music skips about every 15 sec. very annoying. Anyone else having the problem.
I have an iphone 3gs that doesnt skip and works great. I love the Evo but bugs are continually showing up.
Its your internet. Try updating your prl.
i did update the prl before i tried it.
still does it.
I have a bluetooth reciever for my AVR and I noticed some skipping as well. Not as frequent as you are saying but if I moved more than 10' away it would be rather bad. The Bluetooth range seems to be poor. In a car I can't imagine you having a problem. I have heard of some issues with factory bluetooth.
I had same problem till I decided to turn off my wifi.. and it started working fine.. it just doesn't have to do with Pandora, its will any Music that you stream over Bluetooth..
Just turn off your wifi and it will work fine.
Thanks
Or just place your phone somewhere else in your car. Bluetooth has very lousy range (isn't it like 10 feet in perfect conditions?), and as such moving it a foot or two somewhere else could make a world of difference.
Its definitely not the internet. I could be at home in wifi with phenominal internet it even laying it off of my SD card. If im in a vehicle or on a bus, its pretty solid and works really well. I walk out the bus and walk around either to m next bus or to work and it fails to play for more than 4 seconds without skipping. And its not like a short, nuisance of a skip. It often stays skipped for up to 3 seconds at a time. Completely unusable. Happens however i connect my phone to any a2dp device. Tried tweaking the /etc/Bluetooth/audio.conference file as suggested in a couple nexus one/s sites, but unfortunately seems to be specific to those phones. This is making me hate this phone. Every other phone I've had in the past two years does this just fine. Whyis it having such a hard time with such a simple task that others have done perfectly? Even other Roms work better but i like also better than sense anyday. Maybe its a kernel issue?. I really want this fixed. But it seems like no one is even trying to work towards a solution. Not on the surface anyway.
Did you try turning off your wifi and any other unneeded services? The only time I have had skipping over bluetooth is when I have my wifi on as well, other than that it streams smoothly through my car stero and computer over bluetooth.

This.
If that doesn't help, then if possible, you should use an aux in cable to prove it's only a bluetooth issue. If it still skips, I'd try a new rom and/or kernel. A2DP performance seems much improved in CM7 compared to Sense roms.. or at least it seems better to me.
I've had the same skipping problem with my bluetooth earphones and evo. The only slight solution that I've had was holding the phone in direct line of site with the bluetooth earphones. When I do that, it doesn't skip as much.
Streaming bluetooth audio to car stereo
Thanks Anku13, your fix works. Just installed a Clarion CZ501 bluetooth receiver in my car, experienced skipping audio every 15 - 30 seconds once my Leo connected/streaming. Killing WiFi was the trick. Love not having an AUX cable lying around in the cabin.
Hi all,
I have the Plantronics Discovery 975 bluetooth headset which has never given me problems before on previous HTC phones, but I now hear crackling whenever someone speaks...
Are there other bluetooth headset users with the same problem?
+1 voyager pro sametimes cracle sometimes no

We bought two SGS2 and two Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth headset at work. I got one of the phones and one of the headset and I'm having the exact same problem as you have. My other colleague who were happy enough to recieve the other phone does not have any cracking noise which is rather weird.
I even tried my headset connected to his SGS2, i had to make sure my head wasn't messing up the signal or something lol... and it worked fine, so it's something with the phone i guess.
In this thread they talk about KE7 having a new sets of Bluetooth profiles and what not. Perhapes Samsung recognized there was some bug and changed things around.. But i'm only guessing here.
In case anyone is wondering:
Yes, both phone and headset was fully charged when tested.
Yes, both phones and headsets were tested in the same room around the same time so it cant be interference from external sources as it didn't bother the other SGS2.
I'm using KE2 over here. I forgot to check what version my colleague is using but we got the phones the same day from the same store so I bet he is using KE2 as well.
Did both phones have WiFi enabled or disabled?
Come to think of it, I think i had it enabled on mine but not on the other phone. I'll try compare them again and this time have wifi off on both phones.
I had a 975 for about two weeks before I returned it. I wasn't getting consistent performance on either my G2 (HTC), G2X (LG), or Vaio P (Sony). I replaced it with a BlueAnt Q2 and didn't have any problems with the same devices. It works really well on the SGS2 for phone, media, and Voice Talk. The 975 also wasn't A2DP and I like to listen to music and audio on my headset sometimes.
I tried disabling the wifi, not sure if its just now or not but, it seems to be working better. I still hear the crackling noise every now and again but not like before. However i think i will keep using my SE MW600. It delivers more solid performance and the sound quality is better as well. Maybe it's because the MW600 supports A2DP.. i cant really tell.
HTC HD2 Tmobile USA I am also having serious crackling problems...to the point of contacting Plantronics to replace my Voyager Pro and pay $49 for refurbished headset. Distance to phone 2 feet and only getting 1 bar on bluetooth strength. Any sort of obstruction like moving head between headset and phone still at 2 ft away...noticeable crackling and 1 or less BT signal strength on phone. With Wifi enable crackling increases. Connecting to a linksys router just 3 ft away is quite fast but still only 3 signal strength. Turning off bluetooth causes a rise in wifi signal strength but zero bars if more than 10 ft from router. I hard reset but problems still existed.
Extensive research on the problem came across issues about bluetooth and wifi electronics on circuitboard are side-by-side and has something to do with the negative affect on each other.
Anybody have similar "crackling" audio or crackling sound and / or LOW signal when close to phone or wifi routers. I welcome any suggestions at this point.

Jawbone and bluetooth crackling
Hi,
I have a Jawbone Prime which I used for my iPhone 4, which was crystal clear, now I've used it a couple of times with my S GS2 and so far I'm struggling to get a clear call quality.
I thought it was the headset but I have tried it with a friends Advantax speakerphone and that happens the same, every 10 sec's it goes quite and crackles to the point that it's impossible to actual have a conversation!
My phone is only 3 weeks old is it worth exchanging it or will I get the same problem if its a software issue??
Help please
BTW I have just spoken to a lady from Samsung about this issue, to find out if it is a handset issue or software. After being passed around saying it was the headset, though I explained I have tried another 2 headsets, she now said my headset is not compatible.
When I asked her for a list of compatible headsets she put me on hold and then came back saying 'Please go to an accessory store to find out'.
I don't like being fobbed off but I believe Samsung are doing that to me and everyone else! I asked if they were fixing this issue, as there are other forums of this issue, she couldn't answer that question funny enough!
I'm now going to try another handset with my sim and the headset as I work in CPW, finger crossed!
I don't know if I am having the same issue as you guys. You are describing it as "crackling"? My connection falls into a state where the audio sounds as if the bandwidth is REALLY low. So the other person's voice is choppy - really fast choppy - I don't mean intermittent sound.
If I briefly transfer the audio to the phone and then back to the handsfree device again it clears up.
This happens in my car which has a Parrot CK6100 and also our BMW mini built-in bluetooth system.
I have a UK Orange branded SGS2 with KE2 firmware.
Could someone try doing the above and see if it clears up the audio?
As a side issue, stereo audio over a2dp works without problems so it is not a signal strength issue.
+1 Discovery 975
Better with wifi off, but still crappy sound.
I have been having a problem with my bluetooth crackling in my car for a very long time now. I did a search and found this very old thread. I wanted to bump it up to see if anyone else is having a problem like this and if there is any known troubleshooting steps we could take. As previous people have posted, stereo bluetooth works fine, its just on calls with my car that it intermittently crackles. I can toggle the connection to my phone and back to my car to clear it up, but who wants to do that? This happens nearly every call. I thought it was my car so I ignored it but I recently tried my phone in a different car and had the same issue. Ironically, I never have this issue with regular bluetooth headsets, only with cars. Anyone else have a problem like this?
When I connect the smartphone with the car via Bluetooth, the music is just intermittent suonds. How do I fix this?
I would like to know this too, anyone?
I started having this same issue after the last/first Tmobile update, before it was fine.
Same thing here. The music would either play through the phone's earpiece or sound like a call playing through the Bluetooth speaker. I read YouMail was a cause so I uninstalled and it still happened I force closed the phone app and it worked normally after that. The issue may definitely be from the T-Mobile update tho.
Yeah been having an issue with volume fading after initial connection, drives me nuts since I use the phone for GPS and music streaming. so I use the v30 for bt music and OnePlus for gps
I'm having an issue with the phone trying to automatically connect to a second Bluetooth device and begin playing music on it. This happened tonight while following behind my wife's car.
Every time we stopped at a light it would connect and I would loose audio in my vehicle and play in hers. No way to stop it connecting other than forget the device or turn off all the functions in that device settings.

I have the T-Mobile 6T and I have this same issue.
It seemed like the previous update fixed it, and was broken by the current update. Anyone know if the international rom has the same problem?

I have converted my TMobile 6t to international and those bugs are fixed.

I'll be updating this on the weekend. Nothing worse than having the beat drop to have the volume drop...

I feel you, dealt with that for a while until they found a way to convert the phone. anywho hope it fixes your issue.
Bluetooth nightmare
I've been having the same issue since I bought my T-Mobile 6T last year and am pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to fix it. I have a "GTA Car Kit" Bluetooth module installed in my '06 Mazda 3 and I use Android Auto with my phone docked in a CD slot mount to give me hands-free text messaging, navigation and music / audiobooks. My phone is also always connected to my android wear watch, so it's technically connected to two Bluetooth devices at once when I use it.
The problem is that audio playback via Pandora, Google Music and my audiobook app that plays on-device mp3's intermittently stutters or skips. It happens immediately sometimes, other times it will work perfectly for half of my commute and then start stuttering every few seconds until I finally just turn off the music/audiobook completely.
I've tried:
Turning bluetooth on and off
Turning my car radio on and off
Changing the developer mode settings for Bluetooth AVRCP Version, Codec, Sample Rate, Playback quality etc.
Clearing storage/cache for Bluetooth
Switching to the international version ROM for the device
Once I got the Oxygen OS v10 update I really though the problem was fixed, but after a few days of working fine it started skipping again.
Does anyone have any idea what's causing this or other things I can try?
[EDIT] I found one more new thing to try on the OnePlus 6T forums https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/bluetooth-stuttering-solved.1076196/
I'll give this a try and report back
I've installed 10.3.1 and have a Samsung S3 Gear connected usually. I have trouble connecting to my car and keeping a stable connection. The connection drops out from the car. Is this a known or common issue with 10.3.1? I then tried to put the phone on speaker and then the phone keeps trying to send audio to a bluetooth device and won't just stay on speaker. anyone have similar issues? know any fixes?

No problems here, I use a Bluetooth FM device in my work van and it works fine.
I also have a Jabra 65t set that work great,
never had any problems through many updates both stable and beta.

I have Jabra 65t as well and they work great. It's the vehicle Bluetooth in the Nissan that has been really sketchy I guess. I'll look into that as needing to be addressed then.
The other odd part is that even after I hit speakerphone, the phone tries to revert to Bluetooth.

No issues for me. Phone stays connected to my Fitbit no issue, and streaming music in the car and over earbuds works great for me.
No problems also for me
I have no problem connecting, bluetooth works properly. But I think that the bluetooth is switching on late as if it was turning on faster before, I made a clean installation.
i had a clean install, i did clear cache for the bluetooth system app and decided to just move on and have since installed lineage. bluetooth works like a champ with lineage now.
