Notification Bar Issue - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Does anyone else have this issue with the 6T where you go to dismiss a notification and swipe it left or right and then the notification settings pop up in the task bar because it thinks you're long pressing it? It's extremely ANNOYing and I've been trying to figure out how to turn it off or get rid of it. Let me know if there is a solution! :crying:

No that's your phones way of being smart and recognizing which notifications you usually swipe away, so it's trying to ask you if you want to stop notifications for that particular app to try and alleviate the constant need for you to dismiss them. Just click keep showing unless you don't want to see them.

Fadded call notication?

Anyone know how to get the fadded call notification to go away after you select it and select dismiss in the notification menu? It's rather annoying that I have to do a soft reset/power off to get it to go away. Then if I decide not to mess with it, I have a an ! on the noticiation/tast bar that will not go away.
Also, anyone know how to disable the notification menu during a phone call? I swear about 9 our of 10 calls result in me opening the notification menu. I guess the proximity sensor doesn't work as quickly as it probably should.
Anyone?

Lollipop Notifications - Snooze - Long Press (How to restore)

Hello all
I seem to have a spot of bother, I had two notifications on my device.
I Long Pressed the notification until the screen changes, Giving you a option to Snooze or press the little "i" button.
When you press Snooze, how the hell do you get your notification back?
I use Rotation to force all into Landscape.
I done the Snooze on the apps notification, and i cannot get it to re-appear, I use the notification as a quick toggle to change from Force to Auto
I also done it on ShareKM
and i cannot get neither of them Back.
Even when i go to:
Settings / Sound & Notification / App Notifications
WHen i configure to allow Heads up etc, Still nothing.
Not even after a reboot.
Its obviously not a Snooze button, its more of a Here hide this notification FOREVER!!!
Anyway has anyone got a little more experience with how this works?
I dont want to have to re-flash for the sake of 2 notifications lol

Nope never found a fix. I eventually just re flashed the ROM because I disabled SMS notifications and didn't have a choice. Now I'm being very careful around that button.

Bummer, guess that will be me as well
unsnoozing notifications
I suppose this is too late, but perhaps it can help someone else. I found the option to remove the notification snooze (or filter) under privacy.
Go to settings, privacy, and then filter notifications. You'll need to delete the app in the list. I had to reboot for my changes to take effect.

[N] - Notification help

Backstory: I don't use the stock android alarm clock because when I am half asleep I can't figure out what icon snoozes and what icon dismisses so I often dismiss my alarm and go back to sleep... no bueno.
Solution: I have always used circle alarm. It has features that I really like but is now due for a visual refresh.
Problem after Nougat upgrade: I have do not disturb modes setup for when I am sleeping. I tried to increase the notification permissions for the app to allow the alarm to go off but when I go to Settings > Apps > Circle Alarm > Notifications, the slider is disabled and says "App determines importance for each notification", so it is stuck on level 3. I have the setting "Override Do Not Disturb" enabled. Driving me crazy and have been late to work the last few days because of it SMH.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
when you go to its setting, tap on 'A' circle icon, it should then enable the slider.

I am an idiot. You are a genius. Cannot believe I didn't think to click that. Didn't even notice it was there to be honest lol. I blame it on the sender labels in gmail that serve no real purpose.
Worked like a charm though, thanks! Will test the alarm this weekend to see how it does
I actually found it by accident lol.
I had a notification that would cause an app to force close when it was set higher than the third slider. Just happened to hit it one day accidentally while adjusting.
/me shrugs.
Glad it helped you out!
Somewhat related note/question...
Has anyone on N had issues with Quick Reply specifically with Hangouts? All my other quick reply compatible apps works perfectly, but hangouts fails to send 70% of the time.

I am able to access the slider and change the settings. However, no matter which setting I apply I still have the peek notification on my screen. All of the other features of the slider work (lock screen behavior, sound, vibration, etc.). For some reason I cannot disable the peeking. At this point I am just curious if I am missing something. I can live with it as is, but just has my curiosity up. Thanks.
Press the "A" button to Edit the Importance level of Notofications. So intuitive, yet it would have taken me forever to figure this out. Thanks!

Anyone having notification tone issues?

I haven't added or changed any apps recently. But today, my phone has started sounding the default notification tone about every 3 minutes or so, any time I have a notification icon on my phone. Sometimes even when there's no icon displayed. The only way I've been able to get it to stop is to turn off ALL notifications in ALL apps.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this before, or have any idea what I might look at?
Thanks.

You can try to silent the sound settings/sound/silent
um....why not restart .-. could just be a glitch what are your installed apps if u dont mind me asking.....
I've restarted multiple times. I'm not exactly new at this. Restarting did nothing. As I said, the only way to stop it is to turn off all notifications.
However, after trying lots of things, I used the "Reset settings" option in the Backup and Restore menu. That seems to have resolved it. I still have no idea what triggered it, as I haven't change any settings in weeks.

Yeah, that might have worked, but I didn't want to silence all notifications, just the meaningless, repeated sound that didn't appear to be tied to anything specific.

Notification popups

What is with the small, fast, pointless notifications popping up from some apps. Facebook & texts seem to be the only apps I have seem activate the pop-up.
Why are there no settings?
What's the point if I can adjust timing or actions?
I am a few years removed from Samsung but I imagine this is a TouchWiz feature.
I think you're seeing he edge lighting notifications. Try turning it off in settings --> display --> edge lighting
Nope. The small pop-up at the top that displays incoming messages. Edge lighting seems to work when it wants to but this is a true peek notification at the top that goes away after 1 sec, barely time to realize it is there.

For messages:
Messages -> Settings (3 dots in the corner) -> Notifications
Turn off popup display and preview message
For Facebook:
I have no clue
Looking for the globAl controls for this popup. Is it TouchWiz? Is it Android? Where are the settings?

You only get the little bubble pop-ups if Edge Lighting is on...however, if Edge Lighting is off, you get bigger pop-ups and the ability to reply within that pop-up. It only lets you do this if the Edge Lighting is off though. I've been searching and trying to get this to work right since I got the phone and just now figured it out. The Edge Lighting does nothing for me, so I'm happy to turn that feature off in order to reply within my pop-up notifications.
Turned off edge light but left panel on. I see within edge lighting there are app selections so this now makes sense. I am now getting popups as well as in training controls but it surprises me that I can control which apps. Inbox doesn't pop-up for instance but messaging does.
Does anyone experience problems when taking pictures with the messenger app, I cant seem to send the pictures. When I press the send button nothing happens. Also, I dont get popups from the email and instagram app when I use the phone, only a sound. Is it possible to regulate this?
Did you figure this out?

You mean toasts?
Try an app called "Notification History Log" if you want to see them after they vanish.

When you hook up the phone, you will need to confirm USB debugging popup on the phone and also access to data.
Get the USB drivers from here:
