Hi all,
The p8 lite I have is currently stuck on the Huawei boot screen, and it is unable to turn off as long as the battery has enough charge. Long pressing the power button just reboots the device back to the Huawei screen.
I was able to boot to the erecovery screen, or the HiSuite screen using both Vol+ & power or Vol- & power before. But since last night, I cannot do this anymore. No matter which combination I use, the phone simply reboots to the Huawei screen.
It all started with an OS corruption a couple of weeks ago when trying to update the device.
Connecting it to a pc also does not make it listed with either fastboot or adb, so I'm kind of worried that my device is bricked beyond repair.
Do any of you have ideas or advice regarding this situation?
Cheers,
Evert

Last week my girlfriend's Huawei P8 Lite suddenly started bootlooping. She noticed this when she picked it up from the table after not having touched it for an hour or so, so we can't be sure how it happened, but I assume the phone might have been installing an ota update and the battery died meanwhile. Can this be?
Anyway, it doesn't get any further than a bootloop now. It shows the recovery screen with the three options: 1. Reboot system now 2. Wipe data/factory reset 3: Wipe cache partition
After showing this screen for like half a minute, it reboots again, every time.
Choosing option 2 doesn't help anything; the factory reset succeeds but it just boots and loops the same way again.
When I plug the phone into my computer it gives me these options: 1. Reboot 2. Download new version and recovery 3. Shutdown.
Again for half a minute or so and bootlooping. When I choose option 2 it says 'Download and recovery', and if I do that it always get stuck at '5% installing update'. No change there either.
So I thought I'll try to locally update/fresh install by downloading the latest EMUI and putting the dload>update.app into the root of the SD card. I found on the web that you then have to boot the phone by pressing volume up+volume down+power button to install a local update, BUT unfortunately the volume up button of this phone is broken since a couple of weeks ...
Does someone have any idea how I can fix this phone? Perhaps an other way to locally install an update without the use of the volume up button?
Thanks in advance!
Is the bootloader unlocked?
Hi guys,
I can not turn on my huawei y625-u21. When i am trying to switch it on, phone freezes on huawei logo (first screen which is shown on start - probably called boot screen). I am not able run also recovery mode (vol+) or update mode (vol+ and vol-), so i am not able to perform update of firmware from sd card. Is there any other way to to perform update (flash) of firmware on device, which is not turned on? I have read something about twrp flash, but if i am not wrong, device should be switched on before this process. I would like to install new firmwere, to check, if phone has hardware or software defect.
to put it into recovery mode, you need to hold volume up button and power button, once the huawei logo appears, release power button but keep holding volume up, after about 30 - 45 seconds, it will boot into recovery mode. i have had this issue over and over and i've had to discover this method myself after trying all methods i found, you can reach me on [emailĀ protected] in case you need anything else. if it fails to boot into recovery, just remove the battery for a few seconds and insert then try again. i have this very model of phone too.
Hi Masters,
Need your advice here.
My p9 lite cannot boot up and only shows your device is booting now screen.
I cannot power off even force power off, and there is no responding whatever key combinations i pushed.
The step taken to this error is I did unlock my p9 lite and tried to flash twrp by following the guide, then I cannot enter fastboot mode and recovery mode after that.
I tried take out the battery and let the phone disconnect with power supply, after i put back the battery, i push the power key it still shows same screen as your device is booting now.
Any idea how to resolve this? I assume some fatal error with the motherboard, but i can say nothing after i unlock the phone.
Your suggestion and advice are much appreciateļ¼ thank you!
I had the same problem, what I did was force power off by holding power button for ,well idk how long but until device booted down, then I held volume down and connected it to pc,so it enters fastboot, but you have to do it fast,as it will reboot once its turned off. Then I tried various twrps, revolution recovery etc,and the only one that worked was meticulus twrp.I know you said you cant force power off,but try holding power key long
Once you hold the power off button, the phone will never power off, instead, the phone will reboot and bring you to the error page "your device is booting now" and stuck there. I tried to push the power up or power down button before i see huawei logo, but it will show me the same page.
Yes,when you hold power off phone will reboot, and you have to be fast with volume down and cable.Pre-plug the cable it computer ,bring it near phone, power off and before it boots plug it in while holding volume-
thank you for your suggestion. I tried many times, no matter how quickly i am, I only able to see the device booting page. I have mentioned one point above, i did take out the battery, and i see the error screen after i put back the battery, so i assume the problem with motherboard.
How many of you did return the faulty and unlocked phone to service centre then get "free" services?
Hi all,
I was really happy with Lineage OS 14.1 running on my Storm. Today, I decided to flash the latest nightly, just leaving me with a bricked phone.
What happens right now, is:
- the phone is stuck in a boot loop. I only see the Wileyfox logo screen with "powered by android", written on the bottom of the screen.
- occasionally, the screen becomes black and the device reboots, just to get stuck again.
- pressing vol+ and power, vol- and power makes the device reboot quicker (with or without usb attached), but it immediately gets stuck again.
- I can't even turn off the phone by holding power down for 30+ seconds -- the device keeps on rebooting over and over again
Can anybody tell me how to get out of here? Just turning of the phone would help in the first place ...
Thank you, best regards!

How did you flash it? I got this "update" via OTA and my phone became a soft-soft brick - everything loads normally but the touchscreen doesn't work at all.
In your case, I think, there is something wrong with bootloader (but how? in LOS updates they never touch this thing) or maybe the battery is totally discharged.
I've got 2 Storms and I've seen them stuck in endless bootloop when the battery was 0% and I tried to charge them with bad charger or low-quality cable. So maybe the battery drained while updating

I sideloaded the downloaded nightly. There were no error messages in TWRP log, and the battery was almost completely full.
What can be done with a wrecked bootloader? It seems I can't even get into fastboot.
(this is my real account, was unable to post out of tapatalk yesterday)
The only way is playing with vol+ and power buttons. I entered TWRP after almost 20 attempts... It's really difficult to enter fastboot or recovery via button combinations.
Flashing LOS via TWRP doesn't touch the bootloader. You can see the contents of LOS update zip-archive - there is no bootlader file, only system and kernel (boot.img). So please try using key combinations once again.
Also, constant bootloop occurs when the touchscreen is cracked, but that's not your case

Thank you very much for your feedback -- highly appreciated.
After some hours of trying, I still desperately get back to you. What exactly do you mean by "playing with vol+ and pwr buttons"? Holding them together infinitely? Pressing and releasing quickly? Holding one while pressing and releasing the other?
I still have not succeeded any further from the previous stage, unfortunately ;(

I can't understand exactly how to get into these modes, because I can enter them only after "playing" several times. I hold 2 keys together and then the phone vibrates and I have to release them immediately, and after that it enters fastboot or recovery. But not from the first time! Sometimes it reboots again and again.
Try "playing" and if there is no result - only service would help.
If your phone doesn't enter into fastboot or recovery it may mean two things. First - you press keys in wrong way, so "playing" would help. Second - bootloader is broken or some hardware problems (e.g. cracked touchscreen, broken pwr or volume key etc.)
I hope that's the first, and finally you will enter fastboot or recovery mode.
Also you may try plugging charger.
Entering bootloader :
Press togheter vol+ and power when you see wileyfox screen release power
Entering recovery:
Vol- and power same thing for release power....
If phone don't boot ( loop ) press and hold 30 sec or more power then press vol+ or -.
Try bootloader, booting twrp on ram then flash what you want.
Fastboot boot your_recovery.img, use twrp 3.0 or 3.1
Enjoy...

Connect the cable from your phone to pc , hold the power button and volume down until it show fastboot mode
