Ambient Display Flashable Zip for Nexus 5

I have created a flashable zip for Ambient Display if anyone wants it. It's working on stock Lollipop ROM and stock Marshmallow ROM.

You can turn it off in the settings if you want to disable it. Also, it hasn't affected my battery life at all

No. Works the same way as it does on other Roms at the moment.
If your device detects light, it turns on 3+ times if you don't touch it compared to the Nexus 6. Hopefully soon it works better.

Is there any way to make the screen stay longer? 2 sec is to fast lol

Hi, just flashed on Cataclysm but it seems it's don't work. I don't see Ambient display in settings....so I can't enable it..Have you a solution...?

I only tested it on the stock Lollipop ROM. I'm not sure how to make it work for Cataclysm Rom, you should ask the Dev.

for me it's not working. when flashed mod, navigation and status bar disappear.

What's your configuration? Maybe you have an another mod who is in conflit. I have just installed Cataclysm from 05/12, flashed the update from 10/12 and then Ambient display... So I use Messanger and the first time it's doesn't work. I make a reboot and after it's work....:good:

3. soft reboot on pressing power button( pressing not holding)

i'm new , i was a samsung user , now i bought 2 huawei
one is a Huawei p8 lite , i bought yesterday , with android version 5.0.1 and Emui 3.1
my problem is the notification banner is black , and i can't read it
i tried to install others themes , i have hard reset it , nothing i got the banner alway black
i trid on to ask to Huawei without an answer
is there a fix ?
is there a way to change it , at least white ?
i bought it in italy, europe
in the lock screen is almost visible , but in the homepage is so back ,that i can even read it , i tried to change wallpaper with different color white , nothing

I dont think you can change the notification color, I also dont like that color notification either.
What you cant read, the whole message? It only shows a preview for just 2 seconds seconds.
I tried to disable the notification in message settings, but it keeps showing up. Maybe its a software bug.

Go to stettings, and scroll down to the last option->About Phone, mine ends in B188.
I tried other themes and launchers, and it still has that black notification.
I havent tested the gmail app yet, to see if it shows or not in the notification.
Maybe they will change it in the 6.0 android, or wait for a CM rom.

Hi Guys, I was wondering if anyone has the same problem were as a screenshot doesn't show in notification panel in Official Nougat update, On Marshmallow You were able to swipe down and share it were in Nougat you have to go Gallery to share it,Any way to fix this or am I the only one having this problem, I Have Vns-l31c185b360 version, Not Rooted and Received OTA on Monday, 20170508, Thanx In Advance

Sorry, I saw now that I said quick settings instead of notification panel but I corrected it,

I don't have the notification either, although I still have the popup after taking the screenshot. I'm using C02B329. I think this might have been removed in Nougat. I'm speaking under correction, but I'm pretty sure I read about it somewhere. ?

I am also using the same version (C185B360) and I can confirm this. I also got the update via official OTA a few days ago. But I don't think it is a big issue.
I also don't have 'App Twin' feature in settings and notification panel is black (not transparent).
I heard somewhere in the forum that b360 is beta and beta version won't get update. Are we using the beta version or?

At least you get a popup to show that a screenshot was captured, I have to check in the gallery to see if the screenshot was taken, cause if you use your phone in silentmode there is no way to be sure it was taken if you can't hear the screenshot sound

Not sure mate, but it will be bad for Huawei pushing a Beta version after rollout was delayed to fix bugs

Quick question: have you by any chance changed your animation settings in Developer options? I haven't tested it on Nougat, but with marshmallow, I set my animation duration to off, and the pop-up stopped showing. Turning that back to 0,5x got it back again.
Hopefully that's the case for you, if not, then it's definitely a bug in the firmware.

Glad it worked! ? Yeah, the notification is definitely helpful, especially for when the animator duration is turned off.

Thanks miz_pimp, the animation settings solved it for me too (Huawei MediaPad T3 10, AGS-L09, Android 7.0, EMUI 5.1.3) - I now have a popup at least.

oreo update bugs and discussion

Guys post the issues that you face in the new oreo update .it will be helpful for laggards

I have some issues;
1. I can't block app for accessing data anymore.
2. I have notification sound for apps that I set vibrate.
I'll update my 2cents while I'm trying my new ROM.

No interactive ambient display anymore. No pick to wake up screen

The camera app opens with a blank (black ) screen. it takes around 5 seconds before the scene shows up on the screen.

You are on beta or what? This bug was there on initial beta builds. Camera is working fine on stable version.

I am on stable 12.29 build, not sure why the camera lag is on my device. BTW, do you know whether CAMERA2 API is enabled by default on this stable build? I am planning to use the ported GCAM but it needs CAMERA2 API.

Do not disturb icon is not visible.Also fingerprint swipe down notification is not available.I am currently on stable build.

Camera2 api is not enabled in Oreo stable build

There's an issue with fonts. From 4 size options, down to 3. wish i didn't upgrade. not worth it

The fingerprint gesture works for me fine.
But I hate the notifications about app running in background and about displaying over other apps. So annoying. (See attachment)
By the way, I noticed language English [XA]. What is it?

After the update and first start to oreo my phone didn't show the message that the update was succesfull like in previous nougat updates. Do you have the same behavior? Thanks.

1. Would love to have colourful bar icons.
2. Super annoying new notification system.
3. Seems to have better charging system.
4. Decreased smoothness at least while gaming.

I've enabled the fingerprint gesture in Nougat. Looks like it stayed enabled also in Oreo, but I can't find the toggle in settings.
For me the Oreo looks like beta and it's missing a lot of stuff, Xiaomi just rolled it out because they have promised it. Meh.

Fingerprint unlock is slower than previous android. Also cant find fingerprint gesture settings

Where are Finger prints gestures?

Mobile data freezing issue. The indicator shows 4g but internet doesn't work unless I restart the phone. Happened twice in the last 7hrs of Oreo.
I remember coming across a similar situation on OnePlus 3T nougat beta.

2.Use QC fast charge, doesn't show rapidly charging,but PD fast charge still display rapidly charging(9.0 problem?)

3.Can't connect to mobile data (Reboot can solve the problem)
4.NFC SIM card function is abnormal(maybe 9.0 problem)
I test Hami wallet it's OK,but I don't know others

Could you post any screenshots? There is a problem and people recommending deleting pattern lock before you update the phone.

Nope that doesn't work. FRP bug in the build. Why do you want screenshots? It is the same UI as Oreo for the most part.

Such a ****ty update, HTC just slapped it together, dark mode the settings are still blinding white. Found another bug in the pulldown. lol

There Is a serious problem,
some people update finish,
screen lock Invalid,
So can't unlock screen,
Only wipe data can solve the problem

Only thing that turns dark is the pulldown and it doesn't change anything else, not even the apps which support dark mode. You still ha have to manually change those.

For people that want Digitallwellbeing in stock Pie. I can give you the insctruction to get it to work.
1. Sideload Digitalwellbeing apk
2. Go to quick settings and add: Grayscale
3. Long press Grayscale and follow instructions.
4. Give the right permissions.
5. Press the upper left back-button until you get to the main Digitalwellbeing menu.
6. Scroll down and select option: Show icon in the app list.
Sadly the grayscale doesn't seem to work and Wind down doesn't seem to do antything aswell. BUt now you can atleast see how your phone usage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
