You can turn it off in the settings if you want to disable it. Also, it hasn't affected my battery life at all

No. Works the same way as it does on other Roms at the moment.
If your device detects light, it turns on 3+ times if you don't touch it compared to the Nexus 6. Hopefully soon it works better.

Is there any way to make the screen stay longer? 2 sec is to fast lol

Hi, just flashed on Cataclysm but it seems it's don't work. I don't see Ambient display in settings....so I can't enable it..Have you a solution...?

I only tested it on the stock Lollipop ROM. I'm not sure how to make it work for Cataclysm Rom, you should ask the Dev.

2. systemUI FC continuous
3. soft reboot on pressing power button( pressing not holding)

CRT On/Off animation WORKS

Just wanted to report, on CM nightly #256, CRT on/off animation works.
Note: To get it fully working, flash Roboto font pack (don't know why, but it works).
Work, as in constantly on and off working now. Instead of casually flicking when the phone wishes?
Constantly working for me.

It was working for me after flashing ICS roboto font package.
One thing I wanna say that it's completely a random process sometime it works and sometimes its not. Anyways luck is also a part of it

If it doesn't work, try restarting your phone a couple of times.
(Works both ways, as in it may stop doing the animation if you reboot the phone)

Can you provide me with SystemUI.apk and Framework-res.apk from the ROM? My bandwidth is kinda slow to download the full ROM. Thanks
Edit: Thread rules, please post kernel source!
rom is little bit slow
performance 3/5
Apperance 4.5/5( but if possible make transparent status bar and give navigation bar )
sound 4/5
camera doesnot show focus icon which shown in a screenshot
can u provide mms.apk of this rom ?? thanx !!
Smooth-check, but dude the statusbar stuff doesnt seem to work. Clock, Battery Icon, Signal bars, none of them appear on the status bar. Further i guess the background has been made a bit too transparent, as sometimes it becomes hard to read the options.

Let him check it out. Temporarily use a different cm7 theme. And about the brightness slider, in the widget buttons, disable auto brightness option & you can use both the toggle & the slider !

Thx for te nice Rom man

I test gps patched by lagloose and itasoulat with cm7 roms but that was not 100% accurate for me, or gps was locked in 3-5 minutes.
I made myself a patch and i can tell that my gps is 100% accurate, faster and locate in 1-2 minutes MAXIMUM !
Can someone test it and confirm ?
Just flash in cwm, mount is automatically !

[APP] Light Manager Compatibility

I am the developer of Light Manager. It is an app to configure notification LED color and its flashing frequency for different notification types.
I noticed that there are quite a lot of Nexus 5 users are using Light Manager app. Almost comparable to Samsung devices which Light Manager is designed based on. So I would like to make it fully compatible with Nexus 5. One major bug that users reported is the WhatsApp notification LED does not turn off even after notification has been read or cleared. I think it happens to other notification as well.
I don't have a Nexus 5 to test. Could someone willing to help in doing some beta testing? You may PM me or send me an email. I will send you the install apk for beta testing.
Thanks in advanced.
Actually I only start to have problem after update to 5.8, I am using ART
p.s. I got the same problem on hangout, not whatsapp
I have no issues with light manager but I don't use whatsapp or art.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I use and don't have any problem with LM, using it for months on several devices...
But if you look for further versions testers, I'm your man!

You mean the LED notification for hangouts remains blinking even after you have read the message? If you are using normal mode, did you enable "Allow Recreate Notification" in Light Manager > Hangouts option?

Yes I can help, but don't expect too much feedback from me due to I don't have too many msg per day to toggle the bug.

I've been using light manager for a long time and haven't had any issues. Using ART runtime and Hangouts. I also use alternating mode if that helps.

A Nexus 5 user reported that he found a way to simulate the whatsapp LED remains blinking bug at the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51149422&postcount=1727
Could someone here verify if it happens to you too? Just want to make sure if this bug happens to all Nexus 5 users instead of certain users only. By the way, he is using alternating mode.
Thanks in advanced.
I use to use this app a lot but the same issue with the whatsapp app was happening with Google hangouts for some reason.
I really love this app and always use it.
Is it possible to make notifications flash even if the screen is on? (i.e when using another app)
Thanks in advance

This has to be done at the firmware side instead of application.
Light Manager can support it if manufacturer allows it.

Will custom notifications sounds be implemented in future releases or the donate version?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Sometimes whatsapp notifications keeps blinking even after clearing the notification. It's needed to restart the light manager app.
It would be nice to have a led notification when receiving a call like light flow does.
There is no charging indication too. But I think it's a problem of nexus and not the app.
I keep using this app anyway, I use since a had a galaxy s4.

There's no continuous led when charging.
The s4 behaviour is: when charging, red led continuously, when fully charged green led continuously.
In my recent experience with nexus 5, I can see that, with the stock kernel, it's impossible to have continuous led, only intermittent.
With custom kernels, like Franco or faux, we can see in changelog that there is continuous led implementation.

You can try go to Light Manager > Advanced Settings > Static LED and select option 2. That will give you somehow continuous red LED (In fact it is just 8s on 2s off as reported by other Nexus 5 user).

[Q] Ambient display on the Note 4

Hello,
Is it possible to have ambient display working on the Note 4 like the Nexus 6 just by picking it up or when a notification arrives ?
yup. enable it from the hidden air gesture menu using the app. no rooting required.
Cool thanks, and does it affect the battery life ?

I don't have such menu!! Where should I look for it??????
What app?????
It's not in the recent release. It's missing. It should be under the display and wallpaper menu in the settings screen above the daydream option. You can use alternative apps from play store such as acDisplay or dynamicnotifications - they are more like the moto x (2014) version of ambient display so won't be the same as what you'll get on nexus 6 or in cm12. I'm guessing they'll release it in a future update which I hope is sooner rather than later. The lollipop release for note 4 had been somewhat delayed for one reason or another. There's also a bug on the priority notifications where you can't set a time period for auto selection of priority notifications as you would have in blocking mode. I'm hoping that is resolved in a future update too.

Seems like the coding is there but I'm guessing the ui implementation could be one of the bugs that they're supposedly working on. Hope three rollout of lollipop starts again soon and that these issues are rectified.

battery percentage in status bar?

Are my blind or does the phone not have that option?
Hold the settings icon in the notification shade for 5 seconds. When you release, you'll have a new option at the bottom of the settings menu!
Nice! Thanks man! Any other secret stuff?

Search "Battery percent enabler" on the Play Store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.kroegerama.android4batpercent
Figured it out. You have to have developer options turned off to activate. Then you can turn them back on.

I seriously can't read it. Is there a way to enlarge all the icons up top a tiny bit?
Oreo beta has percentage built-in. And it's nice and big beside the battery icon. So going forward we should be good to go.
Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
Oreo or custom roms will have battery % showing. There are also apps in the playstore as well as other development posted on XDA essential phone this thread comes to mind
https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/themes/3minit-battery-mod-oreo-t3711365
If you have rooted and installed Xposed, Gravity Box lets you customize the status bar even more, things like text/icon colors, circle battery meter, or MIUI-style battery bar, or just percentage text with stock battery, etc.
And Gravity Box works with System UI Tuner (just turn off the battery in one of them, or you'll have two in the status bar).
Stock Nougat allows small battery percentage inside the battery icon.
Stock Oreo allows large battery percentage beside the battery icon.
I appreciate a minimal setup (including the status bar), so I prefer the small percentage inside the icon. But it's certainly harder to read than on Oreo.
