Any tool , reference how to change system fonts on MIUI?
Brgds,
S.
I had problems changing the fonts trough the theme manager, the new fonts didn't get applied.
I downloaded Font Changer from the Market and replaced the default Arial and Droid sans fonts with new fonts. Rebooted and that did the trick.
I don't know the reason but I think it may have been caused because the system used the droid sans fonts and theme manager only changed the default Arial fonts to the new ones. Anybody else had issues with changing fonts?

I also tried with font changer but cannot find any extra fonts ...
Where did you obtain new fonts ... i cannot find any
There's many places on the net you can find typefaces for font changer. They need to be .ttf format files. The font changer has information and help inside the app itself, look there...

Any reference where i could look?
Oh man.. Just use google, whatever works. Don't want to supply any direct links if there's any copyright issues and some. The MIUI.us forum has a whole thread on fonts and probably other MIUI forums too.
go to settings-personal-themes-edit theme-font-online font
and just download some new fonts there via MIUIs own online font selection

I tried this but seems that default fonts remains after applying new chosen fonts! Any ideas? I also tried to reboot after applying theme font but nothing happens.

I have a same problem with MIUIs font changer. The font seems to be stuck on default. And reboot, hot or cold, doesn't help.

Try the font changer application from market and replace the default arial AND droid sans fonts with the instructions provided in the application.. You can pull the font files from .mtz files by opening them on the computer with any package archiver.

I tried font changer but cannot put back default fonts after using it
I noticed too that resetting defaults didn't work. Here's a solution that worked for me.
Look with the file explorer in the sd card folder called 'fontchanger' and copy the backed up default fonts into the custom fonts selection and change with the application itself.

Have anyone figured a way to change the front WITHOUT additional apps, just using MIUIs built-it font changer? Since, well, we do have it already integrated to the ROM so no additional apps SHOULD be needed..

There Bengali font is missing but in Stock Eclair update 1 I had the font installed and all mail in the language I used to see normally. I installed Bengali font from Xperia Pro Stock ROM. Renamed it as DroidSerifBengali.ttf but didnt work. Is there any other place where I can write the name of fonts to be used?
rename it as droidsansfallback.ttf
It should work

If you go to play store and download ifont, you can change font as changing theme.
I installed ifont. Downloaded a font and 'set' it. Then I applied it in theme manager. But the font hasn't changed..?

It works for me on NXT-L29C636B170. Do check the version of ifont, only the latest work.
Same problem here also. No option to change font thru settings, and with ifont when I download and set a custom font but nothing actually changes. ifont on latest version. Any workaround?
Thanks!

For me there are indeed font style under display
I also have this problem ...
all was fine until i downloaded & Apllied the Android N Theme
since then the font option in display menu & in themes Manger is gone
i can not change the font and it seems that the emojies in sms app are also gone because it shows me emojies in black an white !!
please help
Thank you for your answer.
Yes you are correct: I updated to 180 (now Im also on C900B180) and the font style appeared.
However, still no any luck with ifont. Are you rooted? Which rom did you use to update? Maybe this is a rom based issue...
When the font setting is not present, without root the only way to change fonts is using themes containing a new font.
But only few themes contains fonts, and most of them have funny fonts and/or make also unwanted changes to other system UI items (like the status bar icons).
Going back from a theme installing fonts is not easy, as the default Huawei themes don't contain the stock font.
Anyway, knowing the theme structure, one could prepare his own theme with the desired font.

It depends on the cust configuration used by your phone and the hw_oem configuration for your phone. I've patched that for the users of my KangVIP Slim ROM. But if your phone is not rooted there's no way to change it if the ROM you've flashed has <string hw_hide_font_style="true"/>
in the hw_defaults.xml files that are used. You've to set that to false in for example cust/hw/eu/xml/hw_defaults.xml and all parent configs used by the eu config or any other you want to patch. /cust/hw/normal is for example the parent of eu. Now you know how to bring up font feature in any Huawei ROM

So somehow i enabled the font style by accident? Because i realised. Theme that comes with fonts preinstalled allow me to change the fonts. Also themes with 8 Bit font (as an example) style some other fonts in theme doesnt work. Well now i just wait for new themes for emui, due to i having Asia (Singapore Set) i cant get more themes online, rather i need to sideload under hwthemes folder

That is very simple, your phone is using a cust folder where this option is set to false. I guess you're on B180 international. The cust folder in the ROM you've flashed is the reason that you could choose the font, not any theme you've installed. With modding cust files it's possible to enable theme download on any ROM, too, by the way ?

Hi,
my phone model is L29 and running on rom B180. I changed the <string hw_hide_font_style="true"/> to false in cust/hw/normal/xml/hw_defaults.xml and cust/hw/spcseas/xml/hw_defaults.xml, after that the font style option did appeared in display and theme manager, however there is only one default font to choose even there are plenty of fonts files under system/fonts/. Any idea where should I save the fonts files?
that are the systemfonts, you'll only get more if you install themes containing fonts, or fontpacks you could find for example in huawei club forum, maybe on xda too. These fonts are packed within hwt files too.

If you're root, you can use HiFont (and not iFont) app, avalaible in Google Play, to change system font.
Hey everyone,
A friend of mine just switched from iOS to Android and bought a Galaxy S8.
She doesn't like Samsung emoji and would like to get back her iOS emojis
I'm not going to root her phone (because don't want to trip her knox, void warranty and block OTA). So do you know a way to get iOS emojis without root ?
I heard that there is a way to do it with Substratum with the overlay "Status Bar icons for Samsung (+extras)". But I own this overlay and I can't find a way to enable iOS emoji.
So can anyone help me find a way to get iOS emojis on Galaxy S8 without root ?
Thanks

Not possible outside of specific apps that have their own emoji rendering like telegram. Changing system emojis globally requires root.
And yes I agree the Samsung emojis are terrible. My rom uses the Google 8.1 ones which I like much much better

You can install fonts without root. Download an ios 11 emoji font. There are apps in the playstore. Just go to your font settings and change it to the downloaded font. Reboot and you'll have ios11 emojis "systemwide"

Not compatible with Samsung Experience.
However, there is a way to do it with the substratum overlay "Status Bar Icons for Samsung (+extras)" id addition to the app called "Samsung Sans Font"
Full tutorial is available on the substratum overlay information/changelog document
But , we can change the navigation bar with an overlay apk and we cant do the same with emojis, i dont understand!!
Edit: After hours of searching i found this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/fonts-wings-samsung-fonts-1200-root-t3710688
A simple way to get this would be to use Textra app for messaging. There are multiple styles to choose from including iOS and aside from emojis it's easily one of the best apps to use for messaging.

My God, it worked.
I used the second oreo option - with ADB and usb debugging - since the app used in the first is not for free
Found a Solution 100000% working
Download Afonts from playstore go to emojis it has ios emojis press download if it doesnt show you the install button down below I mean if u cant press download any letters font you want and then try again downloading the ios emoji font and it should show you the install button press it and go put it in your setting fonts ! It's .ttf and is the only .ttf that works!!! Only for 7.0. Nougat or 8.0 Oreo Unfortunately doesnt work on Lollipop 6.0.1 if I found for lollipop I will notice you bye
Thanks me later!!!!!!
It worked for me but it applies a generic font style for the alphabets, letters etc. Is it possible to use a specific font style for all characters and have the non-samsung emojis as well? For instance, Rosemary font with iOS emojis.
