If you go to play store and download ifont, you can change font as changing theme.
I installed ifont. Downloaded a font and 'set' it. Then I applied it in theme manager. But the font hasn't changed..?

It works for me on NXT-L29C636B170. Do check the version of ifont, only the latest work.
Same problem here also. No option to change font thru settings, and with ifont when I download and set a custom font but nothing actually changes. ifont on latest version. Any workaround?
Thanks!
There is fonts style under display
For me there are indeed font style under display
I also have this problem ...
all was fine until i downloaded & Apllied the Android N Theme
since then the font option in display menu & in themes Manger is gone
i can not change the font and it seems that the emojies in sms app are also gone because it shows me emojies in black an white !!
please help
Thank you for your answer.
Yes you are correct: I updated to 180 (now Im also on C900B180) and the font style appeared.
However, still no any luck with ifont. Are you rooted? Which rom did you use to update? Maybe this is a rom based issue...
When the font setting is not present, without root the only way to change fonts is using themes containing a new font.
But only few themes contains fonts, and most of them have funny fonts and/or make also unwanted changes to other system UI items (like the status bar icons).
Going back from a theme installing fonts is not easy, as the default Huawei themes don't contain the stock font.
Anyway, knowing the theme structure, one could prepare his own theme with the desired font.

It depends on the cust configuration used by your phone and the hw_oem configuration for your phone. I've patched that for the users of my KangVIP Slim ROM. But if your phone is not rooted there's no way to change it if the ROM you've flashed has <string hw_hide_font_style="true"/>
in the hw_defaults.xml files that are used. You've to set that to false in for example cust/hw/eu/xml/hw_defaults.xml and all parent configs used by the eu config or any other you want to patch. /cust/hw/normal is for example the parent of eu. Now you know how to bring up font feature in any Huawei ROM

So somehow i enabled the font style by accident? Because i realised. Theme that comes with fonts preinstalled allow me to change the fonts. Also themes with 8 Bit font (as an example) style some other fonts in theme doesnt work. Well now i just wait for new themes for emui, due to i having Asia (Singapore Set) i cant get more themes online, rather i need to sideload under hwthemes folder

That is very simple, your phone is using a cust folder where this option is set to false. I guess you're on B180 international. The cust folder in the ROM you've flashed is the reason that you could choose the font, not any theme you've installed. With modding cust files it's possible to enable theme download on any ROM, too, by the way ?

Hi,
my phone model is L29 and running on rom B180. I changed the <string hw_hide_font_style="true"/> to false in cust/hw/normal/xml/hw_defaults.xml and cust/hw/spcseas/xml/hw_defaults.xml, after that the font style option did appeared in display and theme manager, however there is only one default font to choose even there are plenty of fonts files under system/fonts/. Any idea where should I save the fonts files?
that are the systemfonts, you'll only get more if you install themes containing fonts, or fontpacks you could find for example in huawei club forum, maybe on xda too. These fonts are packed within hwt files too.

Any tool , reference how to change system fonts on MIUI?
Brgds,
S.
I had problems changing the fonts trough the theme manager, the new fonts didn't get applied.
I downloaded Font Changer from the Market and replaced the default Arial and Droid sans fonts with new fonts. Rebooted and that did the trick.
I don't know the reason but I think it may have been caused because the system used the droid sans fonts and theme manager only changed the default Arial fonts to the new ones. Anybody else had issues with changing fonts?

I also tried with font changer but cannot find any extra fonts ...
Where did you obtain new fonts ... i cannot find any
There's many places on the net you can find typefaces for font changer. They need to be .ttf format files. The font changer has information and help inside the app itself, look there...

Oh man.. Just use google, whatever works. Don't want to supply any direct links if there's any copyright issues and some. The MIUI.us forum has a whole thread on fonts and probably other MIUI forums too.
go to settings-personal-themes-edit theme-font-online font

Try the font changer application from market and replace the default arial AND droid sans fonts with the instructions provided in the application.. You can pull the font files from .mtz files by opening them on the computer with any package archiver.

I noticed too that resetting defaults didn't work. Here's a solution that worked for me.
Look with the file explorer in the sd card folder called 'fontchanger' and copy the backed up default fonts into the custom fonts selection and change with the application itself.

Have anyone figured a way to change the front WITHOUT additional apps, just using MIUIs built-it font changer? Since, well, we do have it already integrated to the ROM so no additional apps SHOULD be needed..

Yeah, i have tested Hifont and Ifont and dont work, Install says Ok, but on restart the font still the stock font of the phone
And the theme engine on P9 lite dont have option to change font :S
I haven't play with android for a bit but if you can find out which font is used in mm or Hauwei as their main font, there will be 4 I think Regular, bold italic and clocktopia, make a keep a copy of the originals and take the font you want to use rename it to the mm fonts add it back to your font folder and reboot..

If you are using Nougat there is Font setting in Display options. (Not working on c432 only)
I am really missing a font that I used on my s5 with a pack called Fonts for FlipFont 50 Written
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.monotype.android.font.free.fifty.written
It was written Fonts 10. Several peeps complimented me on it, it was easily readable, and I used it for the past 4-5years. But now these font packages won't work on Nougat.
I did an online font search with a copy of the font, and found some similar, but not that actual one. I contacted the provider of this font pack, but not surprisingly they did not answer me.
I am wondering if anyone has suggestions in finding this font and then trying to figure a way to get it to work on my s8. It's like every available font I've found just doesn't cut it. I think I installed every monotype-imaging font I could find, but still nothing to be satisfied with. I'm using Helvetica Neue because it's clear, easy to read, but it's just not the same. :crying: Of all the customization that we can get, this is the one that I am truly having difficulty giving up.
My s5 crashed and so I can't print up a sample, but I might be able to find an old jpg of it, if that would help someone solve my problem.
Any suggestions (besides joining Fonts Anonymous)?!
Install the app from the store.
Pull apk from phone
Open apk with WinRAR
Your font is somewhere in there, but I'd give a go in /res.
Profit !
Yosemite SanFrancisco (iOS font)
I'm using Kabel which is nothing like what you're looking for but I like it. It does seem though, the only fonts we can install are pay ones. There is an app called foundation which is preventing free fonts from being installed.
I am wrong about the pay thing. I installed clean fonts and neat fonts. They are both free and have some legible but stylish fonts. Penelope is nice.

As mentioned try to find the .ttf or .otf file in the decompiled APK. There are several apps in the Play Store to install such fonts without root.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
I'm working on locating the font within the known app. But anyone know which app could be used to install fonts in the galaxy s8 specifically, without root?
Most font apps I've found (and used in the past) only work up to the s5. Here's what jrummyapps had noted in his FontFix app
NOTE Samsung Devices on operating system Marshmallow (6.0.1) and later (Galaxy S6, S7, S8, Note 5) do not support installing free fonts from FontFix unless your device is rooted
That's why I posted this under s8, but I guess I may have a problem without root.
Yep, so far without root we're out of luck.
bummer, no specific ttf in apk

Had hoped to locate the font to use if I decide to root my phn, but every file in the apk is html except for Roboto-Light.ttf. But the font apk has 50 choices and the one I'm looking for is def not Roboto-Light. wth??? I guess the font pack just modifies Roboto? Make me :silly:
Maybe it's one of these?

Hey guys,
I'm on Oxygen OS 9.0.11 rooted with magisk and want to change the system fonts. I installed ifont and typeface apps to do it. Whenever I choose a font (those provided in the apps but as well some fonts downloaded from the internet) everything is fine. I have to choose roboto font in phone settings and I can see the custom font. But there is a issue on the Lockscreen. The ":" in the clock is replaced with a box or an empty character. The only font where it is displayed correctly is roboto condensed (I guess the whole roboto family will be displayed correctly). All other fonts have this issue.
Is there any way to Display the clock widget on Lockscreen correctly?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance

I edited the whole font family. Currently using SF pro display fonts. Donwloaded the whole family with regular, medium, bold, light and italic fonts and added them with the typeface app. But I still get strange replacement characters. In the statusbar the clock is displayed correctly, a ":" is available in the font as well. Am I missing something?

Is there any working way to customize the fonts?
Ok I found a nice Magisk modulet hat allowed to edit the fonts.
Once you set a font through magisk you can use typeface or possibly another font app to change the system font. I use Typeface with a copy of my personal favorite font. Got mine system wide this way.

Font changer 3.0.0.3 in the module section of magisk
Sent from my 8 Pro using XDA Labs
Hello - not sure this is the right place, but I haven't mucked about with my phones in the past 4, 5 years (?)
I'm currently on the OP 8 Pro, and if the only thing I wanted to do was change the font to Google/Product Sans, is this the correct way to go about it?
1. unlock bootloader (wipes system, yes?)
2. boot (not flash) twrp
3. in twrp, flash magisk zip (magisk is new to me)
4. boot system
5. use magisk manager (install apk if necessary) to change font?
And if I somehow do everything right, does rooting these days cause any problems? I try to do everything on my phone/ipad pro now so I'd like to keep the following functional:
-fingerprint/s
-banking apps
Much obliged!

font changer is on revision right now. do you have a flashable zip to share?
One of the main reasons that I rooted my new OnePlus 8 Pro was so that I could change the font (to Bauhaus).
Now that Font Changer has been removed from Magisk, is there any other way to add fonts?
Is there any way font can be customised on oneplus 8pro?
I've been using fonts available by Tulsadiver in the Pixel 4 XL forums. I just use the template and add different font files to have more fonts.
I was using font changer as well, so might try something else...
