hi guys, eventually I find a solution for ghost touch issues.
1. flash agni kernel 13,
2. enable focaltech FT5346 forced,
3. and set qc 2.0 9v suppression mode to "suppression".
works for me, try that.
I'm using qc2 xiaomi charger 2.5A on 5v, 2 on 9, 1.5 on 12.

why? i checked sometimes, battery and cpu temperature came up to 45 degree only.
by non-quickcharger, battery full time is 2 and half hours but by quickcharger takes only 1 and half. 1 hour for 60%.

Because this phone has firmware bug. Hardware is limited to 5V, but Xiaomi made a mistake in firmware (not in the ROM) and enabled charging at 9V and 12V. So if you charge with QC, V is not limited to 5V by firmware and Zener diode on charging port or/and motherboard blows away, and You will have charging problem.

Its charging board flaw. There is no proper circuit switch control to stabilize the voltage from high voltage quick charger.

Z3 Battery Charging Thread

I'm copying my original post over from the Z3 Compact forum as there should be a fair amount of similarities between the two models regarding battery charging.

I' hoping this is the right section to post this in.
I don't have my Z3C yet, but I've been searching for information on charging speed, charging current etc. - and there is barely anything to be found. What seems to be consent: A full charge (0-100%) takes about three hours. But then, some people say an almost full charge (0-90%) takes much less, as charging current is greatly reduced for the last 10% to reduce stress on the battery. Sony itself also claims that a small charge (something like 0-10%) should be quite fast as well.
Then there's some speculation about QuickCharge 2.0 being used or not used, that you could use a Motorola 2.0A charger to charge it faster than with the provided 1.5A Sony charger etc., which also brings up the question which resistor values on the D+ and D- wires are necessary to toggle different charging currents. (Or I might be stupid and there's a standard for that by now, which is the same for all Qualcomm devices.)
To cut it short: I'd request those who have a Z3C to post some comments about their charging times, and at best even their charging currents. I used an app called BatteryMonitor on my Desire HD, I'm sure there's others around now that give the same information. If someone could try out different chargers and record charging current over time, maybe even with a pretty graph, it'd surely help all future discussions about chargers, docks, modifications, DIY charging issues etc.

A recent tear down confirms the Qualcomm chip for Quick Charge 2.0 support, so what we need now is for someone to get a compatible PSU that can 'talk' to the phone and then supply more power. That should see a huge improvement in charge time.
I am just trying to find a source for a compatible charger. So far I've only seen the Motorola Turbo Charger in the USA, and I'd be wary of buying anything made by a no-name brand at this point.
I have to assume the magnetic charging option won't be as fast, simply as there can't be a way for the PSU to know it is connected to a compatible device. Quick Charge 2.0 appears to require some sort of handshaking, or else the PSU will limit the power output, hence why I'd be wary of any chargers appearing on eBay or Amazon that claim to offer fast charging.

I have read excellent reviews for the Blackberry Premium Charger (the one with the yellow tip), super cheap on Amazon right now. Recommended by Android Central and others for its 2A charging capability. I have used it in the past from my HTC One X days and have re ordered for my Z3. Honestly, my Z3 is charging more than fast enough with the OEM supplied charger, which may be less powerful but more optimised than another OEM's charger. The one I'd trust most if I was forced to use one would be the above model of the BB charger.

more power can either be achieved through more voltage (that could potentially be harmful if the hardware is not compatible) or more current. More current is 100% save as the charging circuit just takes what it needs, independent of the (more potent) capabilities of the charger.
As Oppo showed with its find 7 just raising the current is a viable option which works. This is also a Snapdragon 801 device.
With the 1.5A original charger and cable, using Battery Monitor Widget shows the charging rate at around 900mA to 1000mA.
So I guess Z3 is restricting to max 1A charging?

Would it be possible that the PSU simply always limits the power output? For example, the phone might try to draw 1.5A, but the PSU doesn't support it and limits at 1.0A. Then magnetic charging could work with 1.5A or even 2.0A without the need for communication over the D+ / D- pins. (And attaching the magnetic port with a USB adapter to a PC or Laptop might cause the USB Port to shut down and trigger an overcurrent warning.)

That would make sense. Though wonder where the extra 500 mA are going, it surely can't be the phone's standby. And given a typical maximum charging current of 1.0C (C = battery capacity), it would translate into 3.1A of charging current and therefore a 3.5A power supply.
Is this current constant from 1% to about 65%?

If there are restrictions they are most likely within the Kernel and we may be able to change them in the future with custom Kernels

There is some fluctuation, but is roughly around 1A.
I have test 2 different charger

with EP880 (1.5A max)

Thanks for the results. I have my Z3 by now and recorded some as well.
From 0 to 68%, it charges with 1000-1100 mA, then it goes into CV (constant voltage) mode and stays there until 95%. Then the curent drops slightly. The rest of the charging curve is not usable, as it was the first full charge my handset had. And the last for now, as I have to send it back due to a gap in the frame and microphone issues.
I'll post a complete curve when I have the new one and did a few cycles. What's clear for now:
1. Charging current with the stock charger is around 1.1 A max.
2. The phone charges up to 95% with 0.5% per minute. (Stock Charger)
3. It drops to 0.125% between 95% und 100%, likely to put less strain on the battery.
It's nice to see that there's appearantly support for higher charging currents. Though we should keep in mind that a higher current also means more stress for the battery, especailly when the phone is used while charging (higher battery temperature as the CPU also adds heat).
my Z3 came with the charging dock dk48.. it is rated at 1.8a, charging is fast
I can't speak to the Z3 (yet), but my Z1s charges nearly twice as fast on the magnetic charging dock as it does through the USB connection. As a result, I can leave my screen on at full brightness while on the dock and still charge. I would *expect* similar behaviour from the Z3.

Magnetic charging dock or cable: 1.5-1.6A. Spend only 2h 45p

The original charger is rated 1.5A, actual charging on Z3 is 1.0A.
Xiaomi is rated 2.1A, so I guess is reasonable to expect 1.5A actual charging from it.
For your magnetic charging dock or cable, are you using the original charger?
With the original charger, I'm getting the same result with or without dock.

With Mi Power Bank, I used micro USB cable, not magnetic.
I'm using Samsung Note 3 2.0A charger. Through micro USB port, I got lower current, about 1.0-1.2A but with magnetic cable 1.5-1.6A.

I think it only supports QC 2.0, though the QC 2.0 charger does not come out of the box. But imo, who needs fast charging when the battery life can last up to 2-3 days with this phone.

The 625 snapdragon processor does support Quick Charge 3.0, but Xiaomi prohibits using it i guess to cut cost, i know some user who try to use QC 3.0 on this phone but it doesn't work, to be honest i'm also not sure about QC 2.0, my advice is you should try testing it first by borrowing QC 2.0 charger with some of your friends/relatives that has QC 2.0 charger before attempting to buy one.

No QC 2.0 support for me, tested with new xiaomi powerbank 10000mAh, ampere show max usb current 500 mAh instead of 2000 mAh. However from measurement I can get 1700-2000mAh so still charging fast enough.
Redmi 4 supports Fast Charging (i.e. about 2A), not any form of Quick Charge. The chipset supports it, but as Xiaomi have decided not to pay Qualcomm the royalties they charge for QC, it's disabled at a low level in the phone. It might be possible to enable it via custom kernel, but I don't think it's been done yet if so.

you mean that from the measurement you're getting a CURRENT reading of 1.700 to 2.000 Amps, right? Because mAh is the capacity measurement while A or mA is the current measurement?
To be on topic, the hardware inside (global version - snapdragon) and the battery support QC v1-3 specs but quickcharge is disabled.
The phone will charge at 1.8A or 1800 mA for about 10 minutes between 20% and 55%. battery capacity.

CURRENT WILL NOT RAISE ABOVE 2A by now. ONLY VOLTAGE WILL BE INCREASE, but with decreasing current.
I tested a bit :
with QC 3 compactible Aukey PA-T16 charger, Ampere shows 2030mA
with Anker 40W 5 port charger Ampere shows 1830mA.
I have a Redmi 4 (standard edition) and I also have a USB Ammeter/Voltmeter which I can use to measure actual voltage and current flow into the device.
Using a standard 2A charger, the device accepts 4.9-5.1v (average 5.0v) at 1.5A (1500ma), and rarely exceeds this due to the voltage drop of the charger circuit /transformer in the wall plug.
Using a Quick Charge 3.0 charger (Capable of 5v, 9v, 12v and dynamically 5v-12v for QC3.0), I was able to charge the Redmi 4 at 6.2v/2.1A. The peak voltage was 6.24V and peak current 2.4A (momentary).
The Redmi 4 will charge at 6.2v and 2.1A with a Quick Charge 3.0 compatible charger when the battery is totally flat. As with all batteries the current slowly decreases as the internal resistance of the battery increases as it charges.
This is 13 Watts of power, 1.7 times higher than the 7.5 watts provided by the included '2A' charger. Thus, while it does not officially have QC3.0 capability, the device is still able to utilise a slight boost from the chipset's compatibility with higher voltages. Realistically, this means you could cut down on the charge time by around 1/3, and even moreso when charging from, for example, 0%-30%.

I was studying this problem, people charge the phone with QC3.0 chargers and the phone stops charging, what really happens is that the zener diode that has the charging plate for security reasons (stabilizes the load voltage) Stop charging because the zener it's short-circuited (QC gives more voltage than it supports, is designed for 5v, there is QC of 12v or more). A possible solution is to cut the zener. (It works again but without voltage stabilization, it would be better to replace it but it is very complicated).
I leave some images for the one who has the problem and does not get the spare.
There is also a zener diode on the other side, on the motherboard, if cutting the zener in charge plate does not serve, check the motherboard zener.

Processor support qc2.0 and 3.0 but hardware added by xiaomi not. Use 5v 2A chargers aka Qc1.0
How do you cut the diode?

Can't really answer that question right now since I'm not sure. It was a car charger my brother bought, it was definitely Quickcharge, just not sure which version. I'll let you know once I check.

Not sure but QC 3.0 charger does not charge your device at 9V or 12V until your device too has QC 3.0 qualified hardware(QC 3.0 circuit or equivalent) and software(kernel).
Cases like yours might be due to QC charger quality, which one did you use?

And also I use MI Powerbank 2 (not 2i) for everyday charging and it is QC 3.0 input and output. Cannot check if my Zener diode is shorted but no changes in charging till now.

For me the chargers detect the snapdragon 650 and send more power, the zener diode must support 10w only( i think no found info), I have comments above saying that they were burned with chargers QC, I'm trying to determine if qc 3.0 or 2.0

Charger's QC specialized circuit determine how much voltage (5v or 9v or 12v) and also current (~2A @5v or ~3A @5v or ~2A @9V etc.) should be given to device after detecting phone's charging circuit. So low budget QC 3.0 chargers may cause voltage or current rise.
And for RN3, do not set current (in any kernel) at 2.4A (it will cause damage due heat which is main culprit in long run) , 2A is sufficient but kernels with some ROMs (like NOS 8.1 for me), it charges at 1.4-1.5A. In such case, you can flash other kernels for fast (2A) charging.
My Mi Powerbank 2 charged my phone at almost (2A) in RR, Lineage 14.1 , lineage 15, pixel experience 8.1 roms.
Now in NOS 8.1 it charges at 1.4A in average.

i using NOS 8.1 with stock kernel and original MI charger 2A 5V, charging speed 1998mA from 10% to 50 % then slowdown to 1600mA aprox and 90 to 100% 600mA aprox
I activated 2.4A option in whatever kernel I used, but I dont rely on it too much.
Primary charger is HTC 1A, only use my Aukey QC2.0 when I need quick refuel. And my phone still rock stable though
Never burned mine out but I have a QC 3.0 charger and when I plug it to the phone it charges at the normal rate of 5v 2A, so I rarely use the QC port on the charger since it's the same as using the stock charger or normal ports, my guess is there are many custom kernels causing this damage, and I think there was one rare miui beta that enabled it at one time, I'm not sure if there is fake QC chargers but I believe real / official ones the circuitry is made by qualcomm and it does a series of checks to see if the device can support it or not-which it never did activate on my QC charger at least (I have a Choetech QC charger that cost around $30), which was pretty costly considering I never got to use the QC feature, but I think it's well built and never gives problems so in a way it was worth it and it's available if I get a device with proper QC support.

kernel can allow charger to pump in high current
many users have faced this
some carelessly do it knowingly
hence, AGNi limits it at max 2100mA no matter how badly users want to use QC currents.

2 Hour With Stock Charger
I didn't completely check the ratings and time but stock charger DOES NOT fast charge this phone. as the Stock Charger isnt QC2.0 Supported. However this mobile does support QC2.0 but you'll have to test QC2.0 Charger 1st. Not all QC2.0 Chargers work on this mobile. Its a little picky. So go to a shop check QC2.0 Chargers on your mobile. when you get circle Sign on notification bar along side battery then it means that device is fast charging. if not then there will be no circle around the charging sign (Flash sign)
also idt this mobile supports QC3.0 but i dont have tools to check amps volts of charger.
Lenovo's original QC3.0 charger doesnt work on this phone. I've tested. but Motorola's QC3.0 Charger works fine.
my rn5 pro , takes apporx 3 hours to charge completely!
So far I'm a bit slow, a little bit more than 3 hours to completely charge the phone. Might have something to do with the cable.

- a docomo USB cable
Planning to buy a proper 20AWG usb cable and a QC2.0 adapter.
I just bought a Letv charger which supported qc3.0 for about 4$ on taobao
I'm currently on the 9.5.11 build and it takes about 4-5 hours to completely charge the device using stock charger, And it took about 2-3 hours while on 9.2 build.
I wonder if the Mi QC 3.0 based charger would improve the situation for us?

Slow charge is a known bug in 9.5.11 build. Wait for an update or change ROM

I recieved 9.2.13 update yesterday and have been noticing significant boost to charging speeds since then...yet to fully charge from 0 so can't comment on total time but as per Ampere, charging speeds are in range of 1500 to 1700 mah
1000 mA max with 5v 2amp and Work Normal Speed with Stock Charger
Approximately 2 hour for charge phone
I use the app Ampere (free in Playstore) to measure power input and with a normal charger (non QC) it shows up to 1600 mAh charging amount and from almost 0 to 100% it is taking 2,5 hours. One question: is there a way to tell if QuickCharge is active?

Look on your"s phone status bar. With normal charging there is thunder icon next to the battery. With QC active, thunder in in circle as far as I remember. Info about active QC should be also displayed in the bottom of your lockscreen

Using my usb inline meter, i'm getting ~6.5v and ~2.2A, with a Tronsmart usb cable and QC 3.0 Truro charger, screen off and about 44% remaining on battery. Will try when the battery is lower some other time.

I have no idea why would you do that... But read reviews, no matter what kind of charger you use, this phone only supports qc 2.0 version. From 0 to 100, in 1 hour, you only get like 55%, and in the end it slows down even more, so yes, impossible to fully charge in 1.5h, TECHNICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. You are either lying, or mixed times and got confused. Judging by technical parameters, the best this phone can do should be around 2hours from 0 to 100.

I just posted above that I was able to get QC 3.0 charging rates. Approximately 2.2A (fluctuates +/- 0.1A) and 6.6v (fluctuates +/- 0.2v) using a QC 3.0 charger and Tronsmart cable. Measured using an inline meter, not software.

Mobile takes more time to charge?

My device is taking more time to get full charge. Is anyone experiencing the same.is there any way to improve the charging
My device is taking around 3 hrs to charge fully which is quite normal as given it has 5000 mAh battery and no fast charging. Only way to improve could be to switch off and then charge or not use phone while charging. Disabling cellular data and WiFi may also help.

In my first time charge, i leave it charging when i sleep, but when i wake up my phone just have 82% battery, it takes 7 hour charge when i sleep, i realize that my mistake was not plug in perfectly the usb cable to charger adaptor, shame on me LOL
When it plug perfectly the charging time may 2,8 - 3 hours to 100%

My phone gets full charge after 1.5 hours via galaxy s5 charger, and 2.5 hours via stock charger.

Does it show "Charging Rapidly" state on the lock screen?
On my Anker triple ports QC2.0 charger, 2 of the normal ports 5V2.4A are able to "induce" my M2 phone to go into "Charging Rapidly" state. It only happens after plugging in for a few mins; if plug into the QC2.0 5V2A port it doesn't display "Charging Rapidly", just shows the normal "charging". Another of my QC3.0 charger 5V3A is also able to do this while other chargers I tried from 1.8A-2A range can't get this "Charging Rapidly" state. Is it possible that the M2 only support "fast charging" on 2.1A and above chargers?

No... Actually the speed of charging also depends on the current... If you current is 2A, then it automatically shows charging rapidly...
If you use any other charger with a lower ampere rating, then the phone will automatically detect that the current is low and it is charging slower...

Its just a suggestion... Dont use the S5 charger even if it charges faster... It voltage is 5.3v ... Voltage should always be 5v ... It will destroy your battery in the long term...

Yes ... You can... But your phone will probably heat up a lot.... And long exposure to higher temperatures might slowly degrade your battery...
Only use this charger in emergency cases...

Why do you say it will heat up a lot? Phones nowadays should have protection circuit to limit current, right? For my M2 I don't see any difference in using 5V2A or 5V3A adapter.

I might be wrong... Of course they have protection circuits ... I have another phone Galaxy E5. It also should have a protection circuit or whatever...
Its charger is rated 5V 1.55A... But when I use a 5V 2A charger, the phone starts heating up...
Though it happens only while charge is less than 100...
Upon reaching 100% it cools down...
