After a recent update the Google search bar widget on the home screen changes color with the phones night mode and it is driving me crazy. So with night mode on the search bar turns black and as white with night mode off. It never used to do this and I just want it to stay white. Any body have a solution without installing a launcher?

Okay, so as the title says, the screen on my VZW GS4 seems to be changing the hue depending on what colors are being shown on different parts of the screen. For example, when I get a text and the little green icon pops up in my notification bar, the whites on the screen darken, and as soon as the icon is gone, they go back to normal.
The same thing happens in the youtube app. When playing full screen videos colors get lighter (and more unrealistic) and then when I click on the screen and the pause button and other menu buttons shows up, the colors darken and become more realistic.
I've turned Adapt Display off and this happens whether it in Dynamic, Standard, or any other of the display modes. This strange behavior is very familiar when the phone is set to the lowest brightness.
Anyone know why this might be happening or know a possible solution?

Just tried that and it still seems to be doing it. It'd quite annoying especially when in apps with dark backgrounds or night themes. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Hello I am using G2 xposed to modify the status bar and navigation bar.
I encountered a problem because the icons displayed white colour instead of the original colour.
Like for example Subway Surfers.
The problem occurred after I have set the bleed immersive mode and kitkat icon.
I tried restarting the phone and even uncheck the kitkat Icon and it doesn't work.
Is there a way to fix the issue?
Here is the image, unfortunately, I cannot display the link and image because I have less than 10 post.

You can add the app to the black list of the bleed immersive mode, this would solve the problem.
EDIT: Sorry, it seems that it doesn't work if the notification have non-white colors
Maybe it's a bug cuz immersive mode is still on BETA.
This has only been around for a couple of hours, but it seems that everytime i open up my keyboard (either swiftkey or stock) on my galaxy s8, the navigation bar turns into a blank white space. I didn't tamper with any settings prior to this, it just appeared out of the blue, which seemed unusual. The buttons still work as they are supposed to but its just a really annoying thing that i wish to get rid of. Do note that I am using navbar apps and it didn't make a difference if i uninstalled it or not. Any fixes?
Hi everybody. After june update my google search bar on the main screen become black. I tried to switch device theme from light to dark and back, tried to install birght wallpaper, reset google settings. None of this were able to help. My phone is not rooted, everything is official. Please help, it is really annoying, I was looking for solution, but I was not able to find anything through google. Thanks
It changes colour according to the time of day, although I have no idea if it is possible to disable this function or set the time when it switches colour.
What launcher, google now never changes colour but sits at the top not bottom.
Mine is just black for all day long
It is default launcher.
Go to your app draw and open "Google"
Bottom right press "more"
Press "Customise Widget"
Press ? at bottom of screen, here you will find four themes, colour, white, black and custom.
You will have black selected (third G from left), press the left G (colour G) and you are done.
Thank you, but it did not solve the issue. It was strange but Customize menu was not opening app. Then I enabled developer options to hard reset device and saw there Night mode options which set to Always on, turned it off, now my phone back to normal !! It iwas really weird, but anyway - tha ks you all

sorry dude, but I set it from Wallcraft app, can not find it know
Hello,
I frequently use my phone for Google maps navigation in my car, but mounted landscape. In the Google Maps app, data around the notch cutout shows correctly in portrait mode, but in landscape mode, the whole status bar area around the notch just becomes a black bar.
This has caused severe screen burn-in on my phone in the status bar area. Since I spend thousands of hours using maps in landscape mode and therefore having that section on the screen dark, I need to find a way to make Maps take up the whole screen to prevent the burn-in/uneven-wear from worsening.
I flashed a Magisk module called NotchKiller, which works, but it affects ALL apps, including the status bar itself when in portrait mode, which is not what I want. Google Maps and Waze don't seem to have an in-app user setting for this either.
Then I found this useful documentation. https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/display-cutout
It appears the app is using the default "LAYOUT_IN_DISPLAY_CUTOUT_MODE_DEFAULT", but I want the behavior to follow "LAYOUT_IN_DISPLAY_CUTOUT_MODE_SHORT_EDGES".
So my question is, how can I change or override this setting? (And not have to spend an hour recompiling the app myself with this one line every time Google updates it?)
Edit: I am on OOS 10, but willing to try a custom ROM if I have to.
Anyone?
