LTE bypass in ZEROLTETMO Samsung S6 edge, (Working LTE connection!) - Galaxy S6 General

Hi this is my first post on this forum but looks like we have a great supportive community here!
After fiddling around with the network settings on this OS I was finally able to get LTE working on the NexusOS 9.0 which is installed in my Samsung S6 Edge (not +). The way I did it was by going to
> Network & internet
then
>Mobile network
all the way in the bottom select
> Advanced
then select
> Access Point Names
Here is where the fun is
I selected using Straight Talk T-Mobile as the APN It seems to work the fastest out of all the ones listed.
I noticed that T-mobile US LTE && T-mobile IMS && Ting Data all block the LTE connection
While US mobile (super slow LTE) and StraightTalk T-Mobile (fastest LTE provider) both work, but please choose StraightTalk T-mobile. I haven't gotten to mess around with all the other ones but since I have T-mobile service I tried selecting the APN closest to that.
Ever since then I am now having LTE on my Zeroltetmo NexusOS 9.0 OS. Is a great bypass for now, also mobile hot spot works too as an added bonus
Give this post a thumbs up if you found this helpful, will try to be active on this forum but figured I had to register to share the love!

I just installed LineageOS 16 to my S6 (G920T) and was having the same issues as well. Your advice helped and now I have data working!
I went one step further and looked at the difference between the T-Mobile fast APN and the Straight Talk APN. It seems that the issue is the T-Mobile APN in Android 9 defaults to IPv6 on the APN protocol and APN roaming protocol compared to IPv4 in Android 7 (Nougat). In the Straight Talk APN, the default is IPv4.
I edited my T-Mobile APN to IPv4 and it works as well!

xperia x10 for T-mobile

hi i'm new to this and i'm not a programmer. can any one could guide me how
to setup data service T-mobile carrier?
What does this have to do with Android development? That's right, absolutely nothing!
Come on people, don't post useless messages in the wrong forum...

Hi,
You are Posting in the Wrong Forum Category, the right place would be http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=615
To your Problem: Under Settings->Wireless->Mobile Networks select "Automatic Configuration" after that you should be ready to go.
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
Make sure you get the x10 with the right bands for Tmobile 3g, and that the phone you buy is unlocked. Pop in your sim card. You should be ready to go, that's how it worked for mine except I got the one that works on 850/1900 3g for AT&T.
If for some reason it doesn't work, you can set the APN for data manually in settings -> wireless controls -> mobile networks -> access point names and input the settings for the tmobile data plan you have: http://support.t-mobile.com/doc/tm21625.xml;jsessionid=6mJPnjzkuv_SLBEXGs
Enjoy your phone!
I am in the US using my x10 on the t-mobile network right now.
When I chose the option to auto configure the internet settings it did not work so I changed the apn to internet2.voicestream.com and that worked.
if you go to settings > mobile networks > access point names > t-mobile GPRS > apn then input the apn stated above, it should work.
That's strange on my T-mobile sim chip is simply auto configured the phone without any user intervention.
Great news is that T-Mobile's faster 3G service is starting to spread. I was randomly testing this weekend and now I'm getting 3.5Mbps / 1.3Mbps (up/down) on average.
Before I was getting 0.6Mbps / 0.7Mbps so that's a huge improvement!
This is in the Los Angeles area.

[Q] Connecting to APN 3? Reprovisioned for 4G on Nexus 4

I just called AT&T and gave them an Atrix 4G IMEI in order for them to reprovision my Nexus 4 to have access to faster H+ speeds. I checked my online att account to verify that I am correctly provisioned and it says that I am.
When I check features on my phone on the ATT website it says DataPro 3GB for Smartphones 4G
Which APN do I need to connect to in order to take advantage of the faster speeds? I read that I need to add APN 3 and combine it with 5. I am a little confused about the combining it with APN 5. I created two separate APNs (one for APN 3 and one for APN5) using the settings found here http://rootzwiki.com/topic/31135-att-apns-for-custom-roms/
I have APN 3 selected and I rebooted my phone.
Did I do something wrong? When I rebooted my phone I have signal but I can only make calls. I have no data access. Now I do live pretty far out from the city so I only get E (edge) speeds anyway. On APN 2 I get E but on APN 3 I am not getting any data access. I am provisioned for 4G so why is APN 3 not working for me? Did I do something wrong?
You should've just listened to me the first time around. The APN 3/5 is an LTE APN and you would need an LTE provision to access that APN.
You'll have to stick with APN 2 and APN 1/4 as its backup (MMS and such). PTA APNs are LTE based and cannot be accessed without an LTE provision

Ok so what do do I exactly? Sorry I need a clear answer.
EDIT: OHHHHH I think I know what you mean. The Atrix 4G not 4G LTE and the Skyrocket is.
I do still have one question however. Once I get reprovisioned for LTE how do I combine APN 3 and 5 as you said? Do I add 3 and 5 as two separate listings or do I literally use all the settings for APN 3 and 5 in one APN?
I'm using APN 5, but in "APN type", I have "default, admin, fota, mms, supl, hipri"
I read the info from a guide. Guess it's time to research what those terms mean.

[Q] Slow data speeds on AT&T?

Ok, so I just got my N4 last night and so far I am very impressed with it, especially being my first android phone. However, the data speeds seem quite slow, can someone please help me out?
Using this APN I am connected to HSPA + on AT&T but am only getting around 1 Mbps both up and down. Does anyone know what could be causing me to have such slow speeds?

Are you using a Direct Connection with AT&T?
Or do you have a MVNO SIM or AT&T Prepaid SIM?

I'm on an AT&T family plan with a sim card pulled from an iphone 5. (Not sure if I answered your question, im not on prepaid though)
I have the same issues. I signed up for at&t family shared 10gb for 3 lines a month ago. I have the GS3 and 2 iphone 5's. 2 weeks ago i bought the nexus 4 and the speeds are bad compared to LTE. I get 3-4 down and 1 up. I used the following APN settings. So far its the best one's that work.
http://forums.androiddoes.net/showt...to-get-good-AT-amp-T-HSPA-speeds-with-Nexus-4
the Nexus 4 works best on t-mobile in the US only because they support HSPA+ while at&t is HSPA and LTE.
AT&T is building up their LTE markets and not upgrading their current HSPA.
Are you referring to the pta one or the phone one? On the pta one I don't get a data connection.

Ok you do not get any data with pta apn because your sim is not provisioned for LTE(even if LTE is on your plan). My daughter had an iphone 4s(we have a data share plan which includes LTE) and I switched her to my GS3. She also didn't get any data using the pta APN. I just called at&t and told them they needed to provision it for LTE because the LTE apn wasn't working. They put me on hold, provisioned the sim for LTE and had me reboot and then the PTA apn worked. It was the same deal for my mom when she went from a HSPA+ phone to a LTE phone. She got no data at first until I called and told them her old phone was HSPA+ and her new one was LTE. That's when I learned they have to reprovision it. Of course they wouldn't need to do this if you had originally had an LTE phone

That's the thing, my iphone 5 was lte.
Just an update, checked on the AT&T site and it says my account is provisioned for LTE yet the PTA apn does not work? Any help?

Could it have to do with the Nexus 4 not supporting LTE, only HSPA+?
Could you post the APN settings you are currently using? (Make sure its the one with the blue dot across from it)

Do you mind testing a few things?
If so, Could you press the menu icon (bottom right corner) in the APNs settings, then select restore to default.
Then power off the device, Open APNs Settings again, and check to be sure the default APN (Should be the only one listed) is selected (Has the blue dot to the far right) then wait a few second, and power the device off and on again..
After devices is back on, check your internet, go to any webpage (other than a google one)
If still not working fast enough, go Back to APNs settings..
Add New, and try these settings...
APN: wap.cingular
User Name: [email protected] (Case Sensitive)
Password: CINGULAR1 (Case Sensitive)
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Auth Type: n/a
APN Type: internet + mms
Bearer: unspecified
Delete the First APN... enable the one you just created (press the radio button so that it turns blue)
then restart the phone.
Remember this phone does not support LTE service, so you may need to have your account provisioned to HSPA+ and not LTE.
Note: The can provision each line of service individually, just not sure if it can be done that way with the Data Share Plans (they did not have those when I worked there.)

Verizon Galaxy S5 APN settings greyed out.

I have looked all over the forum for a reliable answer but have not found one. I have a Verizon Galaxy S5 that I am running on the Straight Talk Verizon 4G network. I would like to change the APN settings to reflect the Straight Talk settings rather than the Verizon settings but everything about the APN settings is greyed out and nothing can be changed or added. The + sign is also greyed out which does not allow me to enter a new APN. I am running Lollipop OS on the phone.
Any help on solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
The straight talk service uses the verizon towers because you have a verizon sim, i dont understand what you mean by reflect the straight talk settings? Just curious what you're trying to do because I have APN issues on certain roms and someone just helped me to where i was able to get the right settings....

Issue deleting T-Mobile APN and adding a new one

I have an old On5 that I rooted several years ago. I just got I an S10 and transferred my On5's plan and number over to it. Wanting to use the On5 as a backup phone, I bought a cheap, supposedly T-Mobile compatible $5 SpeedTalk pay-as-you-go sim card for the On5 and managed to get it activated online. The phone recognizes the activation, but SpeedTalk requires using it's own APN.
My problem is the 'T-Mobile US LTE' APN is fixed. In 'Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > T-Mobile US LTE > More' the settings are all grayed out and 'Discard' option does not respond to deleting the APN. I can add a new SpeedTalk APN, but I can't set it as default. Searching the forums on this only came up with an old related issue, but nothing specifically on a locked T-Mobile APN like this.
Would anyone know if this can be hacked or reset to new APN?
If it helps anyone, I found a post in the forums here that solved the problem by going to mobile networks/network operators/default setup and choosing manual before attempting to add a different apn. Also had to disable 'Select Automatically'
