Is there still a way to create a custom oreo stock rom?
I'd like to remove bloat apps and update some system apps.
I found this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-how-to-develop-modify-roms-t3616040 but it seems to be outdated now
Any possibilities?

Theres already so many stock based roms. Custom rom is a rom that isnt based in stock. So what you wsnt is a stock based rom, and theres already plenty of them..

Download latest OS (with may security patch)
Decompres the zip and extract files with ClassyKitchen (windows) and rest is your business to do.
When you finish your modifications create flashable zip. If you have any problems about the tool please ask its own thread. I'm only using it to decompres roms not making custom roms. I prefer using custom roms posted here by developers and update their app and priv-app folders by myself and use my own CSC folder which I made for my needs and It became my own rom.

I had such an error once and than I relized that I updated my BL and CP files of my device. You need to reflash TWRP after you update your bootloader. If you get error on TWRP just reflash it. Also use the modded version the one on my signature is the latest moded version (that's for s7 edge there is another thread for S7) or you'll see "Omb internal memory" in twrp.

Hey guys,
i have custom rom nexus pure
and i want to install franco kernel.
do i need to do somthing special before the install?
like wipe?
and another thing,in the post about the kernel it explain what to do according to your current verison of the kernel
"
If you're on a 100% stock device (stock rom + stock Kernel) or already on r8 or newer disregard the messages below and just flash - if not:
* If you're on stock rom + r7, or older, you should be flashing stock boot.img first, then r8, or newer;
* If you're on a custom rom + r7, or older, you should dirty flash the rom (or extract its boot.img and fastboot flash it) and then r8, or newer;
"
and i have just custom rom and havent the kernel so im not sure what to do.
thank you for helping
Are you with your custom rom kernel ?
If yes, then just flash fk and root (if you want to).

In your case, just flash FK r10. No need to flash SuperSU, Pure Nexus is pre-rooted.

so you mean that i need to do these steps
1a. Download the latest Pure Nexus zip (pay attention to the version you choose) and your custom kernel if you have one onto your phone.
1b. If you are on the CMTE variant, it is a good idea to set your theme back to stock before dirty flashing. If you don’t and your theme looks wonky after flashing, try using this app.
2. Boot into TWRP and make a backup (remove any lock screen security before this, optional but HIGHLY recommended).
3. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (optional).
4. Flash Pure Nexus zip.
5. Update your vendor image (only need to do this once per build number).
6. Flash your custom kernel (optional).
7. Reboot and profit.
just with the kernel zip?
and if the answer is yes i need to update the vendor image again? i already did it when i install the rom.
thank for the help man it mean to me alot
No. all you need to do is go into twrp and install the kernel
THose are the install insructions for when you update the rom either via dirty or clean.
since you already have the ROM installed, just install the kernel in twrp and reboot.

No. Its not twrp flashable.
Dev's only?.. Anyone can extract a system dump from the image. This is not going to help anyone. Actual dev's have to wait for the AOSP source.

why are you waiting for a flashable zip? you can use twrp to flash it already, and I did. I downloaded N, unzipped it, pulled out the boot.IMG and system.IMG, then flash them via twrp(twrp can flash IMG files now) right over pure nexus ROM, and didn't lose any data.

Good to know ! But i personally will make a ROM based on Android N, after Chainfire releases a working SuperSU for us... Including Tweaks, advanced Kernel, ROOT, Busybox and alot more stuff... Isn't that easy for the Users to edit a system.img without any knowledge... I know that users want a Flashable Zip in form of a ROM to make some choices like Bloat

I do, very much so. but I do not own a computer nor a laptop, so finding how to do things without the computer is good for me. BTW, did you know that you can use fastboot and adb from one device to/for another now? you need that special fastboot and adb, but it can be done, without ever owning a computer.

This is partially correct. If you are unencrypted and you flash the stock kernel (boot.img) you will lose everything. If you are encrypted and you flash the kernel then everything will be fine and you won't lose anything.

The 1st post has TWRP flashable zip. It's not rooted so you'll need to Google and download Android N 2.68 SuperSu zip and flash after that to get root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/unofficial-supersu-v2-68-android-n-t3333423
Hi guys, I created a zip for those who rooted or flashed custom rom on their phones. Also, I will share official ota link so that you can flash it through stock recovery.
Flashable zip for TWRP users:

AndroidFileHost: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862715477
Flashing instructions:
- Reboot to TWRP
- Make your wipes (data,cache,dalvik,system)
- Flash this from "install" section
- Reboot and use it.
Flashable official OTA zip for stock recovery users:
Lenovo: http://phonedl.ota.lenovomm.com/dls/v6/P2a42_S062_170117_ROW_TO_P2a42_S232_170320_ROW_WC00AFB1F4.zip
Mail.ru: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Dc2v/wS3z7dtgF
Flashing instructions:

- Change the name of the zip to update.zip(Thanks: @The Mero)
- Flash this from "install update package" section
- Reboot and use it.

Would the stock OTA update cause any issues for UK 3 Branded phones?
The official update for us is going to be a while I think.

You should try it.I don't think it will affect your warranty because it is an official ota zip. This zip only checks if your phone is marshmallow or not, if it is mm, then it should flash properly.

Hi,
I've found the following (SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip) stock ROM on firmwarecenter. But it's not a usual ROM, I can't flash the zip with TWRP as usual.
Do you guys have any link to the Sprint stock ROM ? Or any tutorial to explain how to flash a ROM like this one ?

Unpack the zip file first and use fastboot for flashing whole firmware by using fastboot commands. Ex: fastboot flash boot boot.img

They don't typically make stock firmware for flashing in custom recovery. Unzip, rename files from .xml to .img and install with fastboot.
