I am stuck right now on LL 5.0 non rooted. I tried out Resurrection Remix Oreo and it didnt work out for me. I've been trying to get back on Kitkat for an entire day and stressing out. I think I have all the files I need. When I was on 5.0 before I managed to get the bootloader unlocked using the samsung unlock CID method then I went to restore my KK backup but I got some errorE:extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255. Can someone help me out here please?
UPDATE: I am now running Lineage 15.1 and dont plan on going back to KK.

Hi everyone
I have been using the last 3 stable builds of CM11 on my Note 3 (SM-N9005) for the past few months, the latest being the stable snapshot for November 2014. I tries to update to a nightly build of 5.0 Lollipop but it failed when booting each time (came up with errors) so went back to CM11 for the time being. I now want to revert back to stock to sell the phone, but am having lots of trouble.
I used Odin 3.09 with the last official rom (4.4.2) but once it rebooted it got stuck after the Samsung logo and wouldn't boot. I tried redoing it a few times with the same result, so, worried I'd bricked it. reinstalled CM11. Thnakfully I got a working phone again. I really want to try and get back to stock but am nervous about trying again.
I can follow instructions etc to do this, but Idon't understand bootloaders etc. Have I stopped myself being able to get back to stock 4.4.2 by using CM11 4.4.4 or even by partially completing an upgrade to a CM12 nightly? If I could find a Clockwork Mod backup of 4.4.2 would that install from recovery or would I get the same boot issue as I did when I tried a clean install?
Hope someone can advise me.

I'm a bit reluctant to do that as the nightly cm12 failed. Do you mean a leaked stock Lollipop 5? I just wanted a Samsung firmware on it before I sell it!

First of all, I'm really sorry about my english.
I'm trying to go back to stock nougat or to stock MM but i don't have a backup right now. (My laptop died a few days ago)
What I did to get where I am no was: Unlocked my bootloader, flashed NPJ25.93-11 and then a zip update to NPJ25.93-14.
After that I installed TWRP, took a bakcup that I lost and then started flashing AOSP and other roms.
Now I want to know how to go back ( or forward) to Nougat stock or if its even possible to go back to MM.
But I'm not sure how should i do it to avoid getting a new brick.

Hi i hope one of you more technical people can help me out. I would like to return my moto x force back to stock after running Lineage os on it because I need to sell it. I have flashed the stock MM once before in fast boot and managed to achieve this but I was unable to relock the bootloader. How can I flash the stock rom and also lock the bootloader so that the person who buys the phone gets the chance of the next OTA update for Nougat when it eventually arrives. Thanks in advance for reading.
Unlocked bootloader suppose be not a problem for OTA.
but how do i relock the bootloader properly in order to get any future update?

I have a Galaxy S5 G900W8 Canadian phone from Bell that I've been using for years. I recently upgraded to an S8+ and want to give this phone to my mother.
I'm running Resurrection Remix with android 7.1.2 and the only stock android I can find is 6.0.1. I've read that it isn't possible to downgrade, at least not easily.
If I follow this guide maketecheasier.com/restore-stock-rom-for-samsung-devices-android will I brick the phone? Is there a better way to do this?
If this isn't possible, is there a custom rom close to stock that I could put on? Thanks!
i downgraded my phone even to 4.4 and i had no problems and its an easy process i think you won't have problems
Can anybody explain to me or point me in the right direction to upgrade my firmware to EMUI5? I can't figure it out and it's killing me. I'm currently running a melticulus RR install which has recently started playing up so I want to upgrade to a 7.0 ROM and to do that, I apparently need to upgrade my firmware to EMUI5

Yes man you need to do that..
I'm on EliteRom by HassanMirza and as you came from RR MM 6.0.1 whit Meticulus Recovery TWRP-3.0.2.0-hi6250-v4.zip.
So i hope you've done your Dump backup+Nandroid backup as explained as well.
Starting from here u need to follow steps in the Meticulus site in the FAQ section of TWRP download page.
Well done.. now flash the Stock Recovery and let it upgrade..
