Best stock alternative ROM with Fast Charging? - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

What is the best stock alternative ROM with fast charging?
I have a QC 3.0 charger. Just need a ROM.
I prefer minimal ROM.
I require all stock apps (like MI Remote, or better replacement).
I would prefer stock camera app, if possible.
Thank you in advance.

Mi A1 doesn't support fast charging.

Well, the SD 625 does support quick charge but even if you could enable it, it would probably reduce the lifespan of the battery noticeably.

The most minimal ROMs out there are LineageOS 16 and Pixel Experience. If you want prebuilt gapps then go for PE. You can enable the stock camera on custom ROMs with flex's stock HALs module - you can find it in the module section, just don't upgrade to Magisk 18.1 for now if you want to use it

Best OnePlus 2 ROM & Kernel

Hi Guys,
I'm planning to buy a OnePlus 2 soon, and I would require a bit of help from you guys to customize it. I'm not a noob, but I just want to know the following:
Which is the best ROM for the OnePlus 2 (based on the mentioned below)
The rom should be based of Marshmallow 6.0.1 and stable
The ROM should support the fingerprint scanner and laser focus
All the other features and gestures that are in the Stock ROM
Which is the best Kernel for the OnePlus 2 (based on the mentioned below)
Supports Fast charging
Has a good battery backup
Has the best governors
And all the other best features you look out for in a kernel
I am confused between these two kernels, Sandy Kernel and Benschholds Custom Kernel. I want to know the performance of both the custom Kernels and would also like to know whether Benschholds Kernel supports Fast Charge as that of Sandy Kernel.
I request all the members of the OnePlus 2 community to please help me as I will be new to the device and do not know much about the Custom ROMs and Kernels posted in the OnePlus 2 threads. I would appreciate everyone's time and help for the same. Thanks in advance to everyone.
I'd say H2OS MM (or OOS 3) is the only ROM that meets those demands. Especially if you need dual SIM control like I do. That's not present in AOSP/CM based ROMs.
Most of the ROMs are based on cyanogenmod so they give a similar performance. Never tried AOSP based ROMs. Lord Boeffla kernel has been doing some good. I used naman balla's settings for the kernel was giving like around 5 hrs of SOT. For the fast charging, the hardware has to support it else you may end damaging your device.
I never used other ROM's than stock ROMs. If it will be available i will change to CM13 official ROM refined by Lord Boefflas Kernel. I use it since S3-times and then on my OPO and now on my OP2. I never saw a kernel like this, very convenient in handling with it's own comfortable app and rock-stable with very pleasant battery consumption... In short: boeffla kernel rocks!!!
Cheers
Clark
HydrogenOS H2OS v1.4.0 [004] +gapps nano the best
Had you followed the rules you would know that there is no best anything. It is all up to how you use the device and your personal setup. You could have 2 devices on the same rom and kernel and they will react differently depending on usage, devices, place you live and many other things.

Best rom for athene

What do you think the best rom for the moto g4 plus is in terms of battery life and performance. And which rom would give the best battery life for a light user
I tried most of them, and I think stock is best.
I have my setup with magisk: systemless xposed and superuser.
using vanir, that or stock best for me.
RR 5.8.0 is very good in battery life out of the box, I'm using it for 5-7 sot for nearly 2 days(no gaming, no stream,Bluetooth, WiFi, flight mode over night)
For the simplest experience, don't look away from Stock.
Or you can go with RR 5.8.0. That's an awesome ROM for customization freaks.
I tried a few, but Resurrection Remix 5.8.0 is best so far.
Good battery life, rooted out-of-the-box, all features I tried actually worked.
I have a canadian 1641, retail, and have NOT upgraded my modem to the N version yet.
For me the rom has been xenon hd it's great has reasonable battery life around 5 hrs sot and it is smooth AF.
Stock ROM here. Stable, no issues. Systemless rooted SuperSU, added XtremeMusic mod and Dolby Atmos (same thread).

Im also using vanir but after upgrading to latest build battery draining fast.. any idea why this happening..?
Stock, Xposed, and maybe custom Kernel
I agree with stock. A little tweaking and stock is hard to beat.
Of you want a stable daily driver then stock can't be beat. Rooted makes it even better. Tried all the roms and they aren't good enough for daily drivers for me. Until an official rom, PAC was and has always been the second best to stock in my opinion.
I tried XPerience and Resurrection Remix, both for about a week, but I returned to rooted stock with ElementX kernel. That is the most stable setup I have found so far. Best battery life too.
Resurrection Remix hands down, been on it since the day it got released. Yes, it is a feature rich ROM and can let you customize in innumerable ways, and yet won't cost you in terms of performance and battery life.
Motor G4+ has official status to its RR ROM which means support from the Xda thread and RR devs as well.
Having tried quite a few Nougat ROMs on the Moto G4+ forum, can vouch for RR's stability. How about not having a single freeze, boot loop or auto restart since past two weeks I've been on it?
You can check its support thread, you'd have to look hard for reported bugs. In all the years of using custom ROMs, this ought to be one of the rare cases.
And it comes prebaked with kernel based on ElementalX, which means you get not only the kernel but can also tweak and optimize it with EX Kernel Manager, just as you'd do on stock.
As for the battery, I'm getting between 6 and 6.5 hours SOT with moderate - heavy use (streaming Spotify over VPN included)
Also, Xposed for Nougat is still nowhere in sight, which means having to wait still longer for the mods to be updated for 7.0 and 7.1. So, having a highly functional and feature rich ROM that can offer at least some of the functionality and customization of Xposed mods, is where RR wins over other custom ROMs.
Here's my current configuration on my XT1643:
RR 5.8.0 + SuperSU 2.78SR5 + ARISE Deuteronomy alpha with Dolby Atmos add on + Patched Adfree background playback YouTube + NoChromo adfree browser + Greenify Donation (sucks without xposed but nevermind)
Though I've not tried, but users confirm running (some) Substratum themes as well.
Future updates should get CMTE support as well, just in case.
I guess there's still lot more customization that can be done along with finding patched/alternative apps that Xposed mods would take care of other wise.
And yes, MotoG4+ is now officially supported for dualboot patcher, meaning you can boot into different ROMs which significantly expands scope of how you can use your device.
Lastly, all that's mentioned above is from Xda itself which means not only can you trust what you're doing to your phone, in case you do screw up you'd still have good chance to salvage yourself.

Id say stock with your criteria. I have only tried several versions of CM 14.1 myself but if I remember correctly the battery felt as if it was lasting longer on stock 6.0. The experience after dealing with several reflashes and getting used to that process is a bit hard but the system I use now feels allot faster. I can only guess that the better performance comes at the cost of battery usage.

I guess you did not read, search and you're also rude. That's not the way you should request something on XDA.
Did you ever installed a custom rom? If not, please take your time and learn basics BEFORE going further with installing ressurection remix. Otherwise you will run into big trouble.
Ok sorry for that..?

Worth to install Custom ROM? Which one do you recommend?

Hello, I am currently on MIUI 11 11.0.4.0. Xiaomi.EU, Android 10
Is it worth to install any custom ROM in terms of battery life and better loading of common apps like browser, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, browser etc.?
I am not looking for rom, which has 2 fps more in PUBG. I am looking for stability, fast and fluid optimized system without any bloatware and preinstalled apps.
Miui 11 is not that bad after debloating, except battery performance. I was on miui 10 , Android 9 before and it was bit faster and with better battery.
So now I don't know if I should install MIUI Eu with Android 9, or try custom ROM.
How are you satisfied with MIUI 11/Custom ROM. Which one would you pick?
I recommend Havoc OS, it's very stable, fast, and user friendly. Only one downside that it's present on all Pixel Based ROMS: Android Auto it's not working..
I am very happy with Havoc OS, its buttery smooth, customizable, good look and fod is better than the other custom ROMs in my experience, also the battery life is tiny bit better than MIUI rom. If you ask me install TWRP, make a backup of your current MIUI rom, install whichever ROM you like and then decide, good luck!
Thanks guys. I already installed latest HavocOS yesterday. It is really smooth, battery is ok, no bloatware. Seems stable for me. The only thing to mention, is that charging is only 2,7A max. On MIUI it was max 3,4A.

Custom ROM suggestion

Looking for a good Android 10 based custom ROM.
I want the following as major criteria for the ROM
1. Battery life (including idle drain)
2. Internet speed, network reception, call quality
3. All Payments/government apps working (gpay, irctc, paytm etc... )
4. Overall stable system
Plz do suggest any rom that satisfies the above criteria
No ROM matches such extensive criteria
Lower the requirements then I can suggest some

Here is my suggestions
1. Try custom roms with darkonah kernel, in my experience it can achieved an exceptional battery life (with almost 0% idle drain in sleep).
2. All custom roms running on Android 10 (Corvus,Havoc,Superior,EvolutionX, Bless, etc) have that.
3. Try custom roms with SELinux status set to enforcing to use Gpay and other payment apps (some may won't work), on the other hand, better stick to stock rom since some government apps can detect a rooted phone and it won't work. You can use MagiskHide to bypass this, but mostly it won't work.
4. Corvus,Havoc,Superior and EvolutionX are some of the stable custom roms running on Android 10 that I used so far.

For me, its the Stock Rom Mod -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/asus-zenfone-max-pro-m1/development/rom-stockrom-mod-asus-zenfone-max-pro-m1-t3999371
If you want more power from it, just use Corvus kernel, Darkonah X or the PhB kernel.
But all of this is just my opinion based on my experiences, don't be afraid to try the other custom rom out there created for Zenfone Max Pro M1 :good::good:

Looking for a new ROM that is simple & stable - Confused by all the options...!

I root/mod (or flash an alternate firmware) on all my old phones and pads, but I don't normally do this to my phone (daily driver), and have always chosen phones with fairly basic android as standard (Like Motorola).
The Xiaomi 9t that I have now is the first MIUI based phone that I've had. It's great but MIUI is just OK... I use NOVA launcher and I disabled all the apps that I don't use via ADB.
It's worked well and the phone is still fast and is frankly the best phone I've had (obviously any newer phone is better than the last generation).
But after successive updates the disabled apps have slowly creeped back in and I just can't be bothered to ADB back and work out which apps to disable again (I remember disabling certain ones causes bootloops).
I just want to backup the phone, unlock the bootloader and flash a new (debloated) ROM.
I don't care what ROM it is, so long as it fulfills my needs... I have looked through the various ROMS available over the last few days and am just not sure which one is best suited...
If I had to make a choice of the various ROMS I would probably choose Lineage, however I think it needs Magisk and various modules to pass the safety checks.
In case I have missed a ROM or not fully read through all the various ROM threads properly... I'm asking for a recommendation... .
What I need is (in order of preference).
Stability - I want maximum stability with all features working.
Updated - Something with frequent security updates.
UnRooted (to pass SafetyNet) - I don't need Magisk and want use apps that require security).
Battery Life.
Debloated - I don't need mods or tweaks or extra apps over stock Android, unless they increase performance/stability.
Stock Android ( I guess I don't mind MIUI if it is fully debloated).
I really don't care about themes, UI mods/tweaks, sound enhancements, quick launchers, or any app other than the stock ones.
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I am using Lineage and i m so happy. With Miui i had some errors but With this room 0 problems. With Miui i had 5 hours of battery and With lineage 8.
U have staibility, a rom update and a very good experience.
