Hello!
So I've received my second SIM with unlimited data some days ago.
I've noticed that I can't use data (from SIM 2) while being in a call on my main SIM 1.
So both SIMs (Main: Vodafone Germany; Secondary: o2 Germany) have VoLTE activated and working. I get the VoLTE 1|2 icon in my status bar when activating the dual-4G option. SIM 2 is set as standard for data - SIM 1 ist standard for all the other stuff.
Why do i have no internet-connection while being in a Call? Using only 1 SIM everything works just fine: I can be in a call and use data simultaneously.
Even if i set SIM X as standard for both calls and data everything works. Sadly it seems like i can not use data from SIM 2 while being in a call with SIM 1.
Thanks in advance!

I just upgraded my SM-A700FD to Android 6.0.1 and had trouble with Dual SIM operations.
My SIM 1 is on LTE data whereas SIM 2 has no data. Whenever I make a call on SIM 2 (incoming or outgoing) my data connection on SIM 1 is lost. I have enabled Dual SIM Always On in SIMCard Manager under Setting.
I tried in Safe Mode and still the same. Does anyone has the same issue? This seriously render the Dual SIM phone unusable.
The SIM Card Manager also force SIM 2 to 2G if SIM 1 is set to LTE/3G/2G (Autoconnect), even though my SIM 2 is on 3G network but using only voice and text.
When I am using data on SIM 1 to browse or running Apps, I can receive SMS text on SIM 2 without interrupting SIM 1 data, but as soon a voice call is established on SIM 2 the data on SIM 1 is lost.
Would appreciate it if anyone can help.
Thanks!
Hey there
I have the following situation and basically this is the reason why I've bought a dual SIM
SIM 1 - Vodafone Italy
SIM 2 - Yallo Switzerland
SIM 1 is used ONLY for receiving phone calls and I want to have it 24/7
SIM 2 is more a working SIM, I am using it for phone and internet
Evening I want to switch off SIM 2, don't want to be bothered with calls nor I care for internet.
First problem when I try to "disable" SIM 2 I got the message that the SIM is set as primary (whatever it means) so I cannot disable it (why ????????????)
Trying to findo out what is the reason I have discovered that if I select data on SIM 1, then I can switch off SIM 2 (whaaaaat ?????)
Seems that I am not free to do it
The other thing is ... to "disable" the SIM, I have to go to Settings | SIM and mobile network click on SIM 2 and disable
This is not what you want to do just before going to sleep, I expected something very easy to switch off SIM 1 or 2 based on needs
How can I solve the problem ?
Cheers
Steve
Hi All!
I own a Lenovo K6 Power as you can already tell,
in which the Data functions were working without any issues.
A few months back I started using 2 sims instead of 1. Since one carrier had faster internet and better connectivity than the 1st.
Still using the 1st SIM for calling and 2nd SIM for data. Occasionally I would switch to the 1st SIM for data when my data pack was over for the 2nd SIM etc...
So one fine day, I was switching back to SIM 2 (Sim I use for data) (Normally when you switch SIMs both deactivate and reactivate with new settings ie SIM 2 for Data).
So while this was happening like usual it took a few seconds to switch SIMs in the midst of this I suddenly got a call...
Which I was unable to answer till the buffering animation left my screen.
When that did get over... Both my SIMS were set to EDGE 2.5 g when they were always recognised as HSPA 3G and 4G LTE for SIM 1 and SIM 2 respectively.
Now I am unable to attain the speeds I used to, it is just barely usable now...
I then tried the usual troubleshooting (Airplane Mode on/off, Deactivating / Reactivating SIMs, Swapping SIMs physically from their slots and Finally Rebooting...)
Now when I recently tried doing the same my 2nd SIM which I usually use for Data appears as SIM Card Not Ready...
However, when I individually insert SIM 2 it is read by the phone
But still, whether I individually insert the SIMs or together the phone recognises both the SIM cards as 2.5g EDGE.
They used to be HSPA 3G and 4G LTE.
But now I can't use Data on my phone which is the major problem...
Please Help
Reset ur phone.
Is there any other option?
Apart from this...
I don't want to lose my data.....
What if that doesn't solve the problem...
Basically, I'm grandfathered in on a great plan with only a gig of data. I'm also grandfathered in with another company for unlimited data, no voice service.
Is it possible to use one sim for calling and the other for data. And when I get into areas not covered by the unlimited data sim switch over to the first sim with better coverage?
Thanks for any advice.
You should be able to set the first Sim for voice calling and the second sim for mobile data from settings, connections, dual sim
Yes!
I used my Vodafone sim for data and everything else goes through my EE sim.
Once you have the second sim in, slide down from the top and you'll see options for SIM1 and SIM2
I have the latest firmware update, and I'm using it with 2 SIMs; Sim #1 is a Google-Fi on roaming, and Sim #2 is the local default sim. I choose SIM 2 to be the default for everything (calls, SMSs, and data). However, I kept seeing the mobile for some reason switches the data to SIM 1, however, I disabled data roaming, and surprisingly, the mobile still randomly changes to SIM 1 (Google Fi) and also consume data!!
