Unfortunately Snapchat detects EdExposed so I had to uninstall it. But the main module I used the short while I had it installed was Amplify. BlackNavBar was another good one too.

Snapchat only detects EdExposed if you have edxposed installed and then login to Snapchat. If you're already logged in and then install edxposed then it will work

I was already logged in, and after an hour or so, I got a message from Team Snapchat telling me I'm using third party apps. And then it continued to tell me it has banned me for 12 hours and I'm automatically logged out.

Greenify, Maxlock, Amplify, GravityBox
Also, apps that are using Edxposed: Secure Settings, 3C

Is there a reason you're telling this to me in particular? (Quoting me)

Hi I'm new to this forum and wanted to inquire about Changing parameters of Android system like Android id and Mac IDs
I'm rooted with majisk and also running exposed with Android pie
The modules that claim to change these parameters dont work with Android pie
1: is there any way to change these parameters without interfering with systems integrity.
2: how does changing parameters like Android id makes change to Android system and daily usage.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

None, I don't trust edExposed at all. Still waiting for proper XPosed or a different solution which wasn't created by some no name. If I were using it, I would have XPrivacy and MinMinGuard.

CrappaLinks
GravityBox
Resolver Activity Tweaks
XprivacyLua.
No Lock Home (for WIFI recognition. I don't use this now as I want the phone locked at home, but it is awesome if your phone is "safe" at home.)
ActivityForceNewTask.
I keep looking for new and interesting ones, but it seems only East-Asians are developing on it now, and I cannot read the descriptions or trust the sources. Magisk is the new hotness, and has quite a bit of useful stuff on it. Xposed seems somewhat forgotten.

Young people use snap for that. I use it to talk to friends. Don't rope someone in for using a platform in which thousands of people use. You're an ass

[APP] Quiet Time for ICS - Please help me test my first App

Hey everyone. When upgrading to ICS broke my favorite app, I decided to try to make my own.
The app is supposed to monitor your calendars and automatically put your phone on silent during events/meetings/classes.
I would love it if anyone would be willing to try/test my app and let me know if you find any bugs or have any suggestions.
And if any more experienced (than me) developers would be willing to take a look at the source code and tell me how I am stupid and should do things some other way that would be even better.
Thanks for looking,
William

shockem and nick w. Thanks for taking a look.

I just fixed two bugs and updated the apk in the first post and on the android market.
If you are actually planning to use the app, you really should get it in the market so I can push updates/bug fixes to you.
What a great app! Thank you very much!
It would be great if you could select different ringer modes for different calendars. So I could eg. have the phone muted when I'm at work and on vibrate when I'm at school.

Thinking about this more. How would you expect it to handle double bookings?
If at this moment you were supposed to be in a meeting at work as well as a lecture at school, which mode should the phone be in? Obviously it would depend on which on you were going to play hookie on. But the app obviously can't know that.
The way the app polls for events now it would be controlled by which ever one started first, and if they started at the same time, it would be random/which ever event the android OS decided to give a lower event_id. Would that feel broken?

Would it be possible to give some calendars priority over others? Or perhaps a possibility to prioritize a ringer mode over the other (eg. always use silent mode over vibrate, or vice versa).
Great idea, but you must have the do not copy feature turned on inn the market for this app. If you turn it off I will be glad to test as well.

I just checked, I do not have copy protection enabled. Why would that give you trouble anyway? The app is free on the market, why would you need to copy it?
If it is just not letting you install, are you on an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM? Your signature makes me think not. This app uses the calendar API which was introduced with ICS so it will not work on older ROMs.

If you have copy protection turned on and someone is running a custom ROM, I am, then they cannot download your app. I've had to update my only pay app with market licensing and remove the copy protection.
I'm currently running CM 7.2.

If you had not figured it out, that's why you can't install the app; CM7 is based on Gingerbread. To use this app you would need to upgrade to CM9 or some other ICS based rom.
Thanks for the update, it's great!

G3 Bloatware list

There are many information on the forum in numerous threads about removing bloatware both LG native ones and 3rd party inflicted (Google or Carrier) for all interested parties maybe we should create a list of applications that are considered bloatware/un-needed and are safe to remove.
If a listed app is only carrier based please make a note of it.
As my share:
LG Voice Mate applications (not applicable in my country)
McAffe Security suite
Google extra apps (News, Books, Video, Music)
QTheater (For me useless)
RemoteCall Service - (Remote assistance service but if you are here I don't think you need it )
Also a request to more advanced members when providing the applications to provide explanation of what those apps actually do.

Everything that is not frozen I'm sure works fine..
Still does freezing so much stuff helps? I think that the apps that actually do something in the back during normal usage should be a priority.

I have been pretty lost, as to which lg Bloatware I could safely remove, as I've never used a stock rom before
I'm trying your suggestions, Thanks very much.
No issues so far.
I only freeze things that does background work and I have no use for them or I use alternative apps. I also freeze so i do not see the icons.
As far as if freezing does something, it all honestly depends on the app. the Lg keyboard does wake locks for me or shows under my battery usage so i tend to freeze it (unlock my sammy keyboard which did not)
all of the google apps run in the background so the ones I do not use I freeze.
I do not delete the apks because if an ota comes out will be a pain in the ass to go back to stock without re flashing, which is something i do not want to do.
Rather than freezing so many apps, I just "Greenify" them.
There are still a few LG apps that I freeze such as Software updates since my G3 is rooted and don't want it automatically updating my firmware.
Some app still run and case wakelock greenified...i only greenify pure system apps lol the ones i use i greenify if i dont use it i freeze, including update. the day an update is out will unfreeze lol
good list, all other apps working without these bloatware? i think the same is the better freeze with TI and geenifie some apps battery wakelock

YouTube 1440p NO ROOT/ STOCK

This is how I got 1440p to work in my NON-rooted Note 4 (S-Note fully functional):
1. Force stop YouTube, delete data, delete cache, uninstall update and turn off.
2. Reboot
3. Install the newest YouTube app 6.0.11 from here:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube/youtube-6-0-11-apk/
3. Open YouTube, sign-in, and test by searching 4k video, play the video.
**Has been reported - if above steps don't work right away, try:
1. Force stop YouTube app.
2. Clear cache and data
3. Reboot
4. Open link below and check for changes in settings

How many of these threads do we really need
I'd say about 3 more and we'll be at the minimum...
Edit:
Although, if it works it's useful for those who choose not to root.
But this is XDA.....who comes here and DOESN'T root?....

The other ones I've come across ate intended for rooted devices. I haven't come across thread for non rooted. Non of the others worked for me so I thought I'd tale time out of my day and share.

I'll tell you one hiccup in my case.
The only YouTube on my device is one I've side loaded so I can not "turn off & uninstall updates". I can only uninstall after I delete days and cache.

I don't have YouTube as a system app

So, i have both Whatsapp Accounts running on my OPT ... one with official WA and the second with Disa ... its also very simple without any modding or else!

Derp, corrected.
Another option for dual WhatsApp accounts is to create another user on the phone, meaning you don't have to root/look for unofficial clients, but it will be more messy switching between the two.

Android for Work compatibility?

I've done quite a bit of searching, and input every search term I can think of, but haven't been able to find an answer to this question: Does anyone know if the Zenfone 2 Laser ze551kl supports Work Profiles for Android for Work?
*EDIT* -- I figured out a way that people can test to see if their phone natively supports Work Profiles (required for Android for Work using Google's MDM): Test DPC, Google's profile test app for developers. If you (or anyone else reading this) is able, could you download Test DPC on your ze551kl and at least go through the initial steps in setup? If the phone doesn't support Work Profiles it will through up a message saying as much (tested the app on an s4, which got that error message) in the first few steps of the setup.
All more general searches I do only bring up results for the recent firmware update that added support to the ze551ml (not the ze551kl). When I narrow the search enough to exclude that model from the results, I only get results for lists of articles or queries that have separate, unrelated posts for ze551kl and Android for Work.
It's too bad all manufacture's don't just include support for the Work Profile (i.e., the AT&T S4 I currently use issued as a work phone still doesn't support it).
So -- does anyone know the answer to this question? I'd really appreciate it.
Its got the ability to have different user profiles, but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to. Is it an app or would it be in the settings menu somewhere?

It's a bit different than user profiles, but similar.
http://arstechnica.com/information-...r-work-dual-persona-support-comes-to-android/
It essentially creates a containerized section on the phone for Google Apps for Work. You end up with "two" hangouts, gmail, contacts, etc (which is nice, because it removes the account from switching account options in apps -- like when you share to Hangouts and it makes you select an account everytime if you have more than one). Instead of the work accounts device policy enabling it to see all apps installed on phone, have permissions to remote wipe, the Work Profile makes it so that the work account device policy can only see information in the Work Profile, and only has permissions to remote wipe the work profile.
I currently use Android for Work on my Moto X Pure 2014, and carry a separate s4 issued by work. I'd like to just put both of those sims into one phone, but I need something decent, that supports data on both sims (data connection active on both at same time not required), that also supports Android for Work.
Gotcha, I don't really see any Android for work options anywhere in mine, is there anything you had to download from the Play Store on your Moto X to get it working?

Unfortunately it's only something you can verify if you start setting up a Google apps account that can use it. Otherwise it doesn't show up anywhere.
I really appreciate you digging around for it though.

Ahh gotcha. If I hear something, I'll let you know. Might be worth a shot to email ASUS about it.

I figured out a way that people can test to see if their phone natively supports Work Profiles (required for Android for Work using Google's MDM): Test DPC, Google's profile test app for developers.
If you (or anyone else reading this) is able, could you download Test DPC on your ze551kl and at least go through the initial steps in setup? If the phone doesn't support Work Profiles it will through up a message saying as much (tested the app on an s4, which got that error message) in the first few steps of the setup.

Unfortunately, we have an answer. Maybe there's hope they'll add support with the Android M update?

We can only hope. Really appreciate you taking the time to test it!
Still trying to figure out if all devices on Marshmallow (whether launched with it, or updated to it) include support for Work Profile. Seems like that's the case, but having a hard time finding a definitive answer.

That would be awesome if 6.0 supports Android for work natively, at this point it probably should.
