There are many information on the forum in numerous threads about removing bloatware both LG native ones and 3rd party inflicted (Google or Carrier) for all interested parties maybe we should create a list of applications that are considered bloatware/un-needed and are safe to remove.
If a listed app is only carrier based please make a note of it.
As my share:
LG Voice Mate applications (not applicable in my country)
McAffe Security suite
Google extra apps (News, Books, Video, Music)
QTheater (For me useless)
RemoteCall Service - (Remote assistance service but if you are here I don't think you need it )
Also a request to more advanced members when providing the applications to provide explanation of what those apps actually do.
Here's my screen shots

Everything that is not frozen I'm sure works fine..
Still does freezing so much stuff helps? I think that the apps that actually do something in the back during normal usage should be a priority.

I have been pretty lost, as to which lg Bloatware I could safely remove, as I've never used a stock rom before
I'm trying your suggestions, Thanks very much.
No issues so far.
I only freeze things that does background work and I have no use for them or I use alternative apps. I also freeze so i do not see the icons.
As far as if freezing does something, it all honestly depends on the app. the Lg keyboard does wake locks for me or shows under my battery usage so i tend to freeze it (unlock my sammy keyboard which did not)
all of the google apps run in the background so the ones I do not use I freeze.
I do not delete the apks because if an ota comes out will be a pain in the ass to go back to stock without re flashing, which is something i do not want to do.
Rather than freezing so many apps, I just "Greenify" them.
There are still a few LG apps that I freeze such as Software updates since my G3 is rooted and don't want it automatically updating my firmware.
Some app still run and case wakelock greenified...i only greenify pure system apps lol the ones i use i greenify if i dont use it i freeze, including update. the day an update is out will unfreeze lol
good list, all other apps working without these bloatware? i think the same is the better freeze with TI and geenifie some apps battery wakelock

Hey everyone. When upgrading to ICS broke my favorite app, I decided to try to make my own.
The app is supposed to monitor your calendars and automatically put your phone on silent during events/meetings/classes.
I would love it if anyone would be willing to try/test my app and let me know if you find any bugs or have any suggestions.
And if any more experienced (than me) developers would be willing to take a look at the source code and tell me how I am stupid and should do things some other way that would be even better.
Thanks for looking,
William

I just fixed two bugs and updated the apk in the first post and on the android market.
If you are actually planning to use the app, you really should get it in the market so I can push updates/bug fixes to you.
What a great app! Thank you very much!
It would be great if you could select different ringer modes for different calendars. So I could eg. have the phone muted when I'm at work and on vibrate when I'm at school.

Thinking about this more. How would you expect it to handle double bookings?
If at this moment you were supposed to be in a meeting at work as well as a lecture at school, which mode should the phone be in? Obviously it would depend on which on you were going to play hookie on. But the app obviously can't know that.
The way the app polls for events now it would be controlled by which ever one started first, and if they started at the same time, it would be random/which ever event the android OS decided to give a lower event_id. Would that feel broken?

Would it be possible to give some calendars priority over others? Or perhaps a possibility to prioritize a ringer mode over the other (eg. always use silent mode over vibrate, or vice versa).
Great idea, but you must have the do not copy feature turned on inn the market for this app. If you turn it off I will be glad to test as well.

I just checked, I do not have copy protection enabled. Why would that give you trouble anyway? The app is free on the market, why would you need to copy it?
If it is just not letting you install, are you on an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM? Your signature makes me think not. This app uses the calendar API which was introduced with ICS so it will not work on older ROMs.

If you have copy protection turned on and someone is running a custom ROM, I am, then they cannot download your app. I've had to update my only pay app with market licensing and remove the copy protection.

If you had not figured it out, that's why you can't install the app; CM7 is based on Gingerbread. To use this app you would need to upgrade to CM9 or some other ICS based rom.

Galaxy S3 "Android OS" Battery Usage and Drain - Research and Potential Fixes
Many users have reported of Android OS taking up much of the battery. This thread is dedicated to fixing the issue.
I've gathered this information from using stock touchwiz (no non-google apps, custom roms, anything like) with Google Sync on.
This problem is specific to Touchwiz.
What is it?
The issue seems to be when your phone starts to get warm and lose battery quickly. It can happen randomly. Going to settings>battery will show that Android OS is taking up the most battery and accounts for much of this drain and warmth.
Is there a fix?
There is a temporary fix which is rebooting the phone. Rebooting may or may not make the problem go away. If you reboot, however, the problem can come back later.
What part of the Android OS is doing this?
This is what the goal of the thread is to find out. Once we know this, a developer or user could come up with a fix.
From one instance when this happened, I was able to gather:
Partial Wakelocks:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Kernel Wakelocks:
*The phone has been in deep sleep for 5 of the 7 hours too
As you can see, it seems like gTalk and Android Talk are the issue. Clearly they shouldn't take up so much battery.
I encourage every to download betterbatterystats and show us data when this happens to you. Any information that you know about this or can gather will help with trying to find the cause and fix. Remove betterbatterystats after you collect the data since the app itself causes battery drain.
It seems to me that the firmware allows certain apps to go rogue and eat up large amounts of the cpu usage, for me it hasnt been google talk

Yes, have had this happen multiple times. One time with Maps another with Facebook then another with nothing in particular. Reboot or going into application manager and stopping them fixes it too.
I find that the Gallery app has a partial wake lock once a day. It tries to sync pictures once a day, and it stays awake until I manually force it to stop.

Nah, that's wouldn't work because touchwiz isn't just the launcher - It's being used throughout the whole system. Install a ROM like Cyanogenmod which is (almost) pure google. Then compare it to a touchwiz ROM. You'll see how much they changed.

Yeah, I've noticed it happen with Maps once, so I stopped maps. Then it happened with gtalk so I freezed gtalk. One time it happened with Audio_out1 which wasn't even an app so I had to reboot.
I'm thinking here that it isn't the fault of any app but instead the OS doing something to the apps?

If they download it, uninstall it the second they're done because betterbatterystats itself causes a huge battery drain as well. There's a post the Epic CM team talked about the app doing so.

Hmmm, thanks for informing me. At first I was also concerned if the app itself would use a bunch of battery but reassured myself it wouldn't since it's an app to help battery. Thanks for informing me that this isn't the case.
I've had an issue with a wakelock titled "bam_dmux_wakelock". I've posted in a few battery threads and found nothing. It is very random. I'll un-install better battery stats to see if my Android system drain drops.

ROOT PERMISSION NEEDED, 4.1 or above
Hello everyone, some days back I was searching an app to program some whatsapp messages, and I found 1 or 2 apps, but are so hard to use and takes so much time so, I made this app thinking that to create a new messages not takes a lot of time.
The app is very easy to use, you only need to pick your contact, write the message and select when you want to send the message. Take care, because the app is a BETA version for now, but I need some feedback on other phones, obviusly, you need ROOT PERMISSIONS.

Yes mate, for now is only compatible from 5.0 and above, but when it works okey in 5.0 I will make it compatible with below versions, anyway thanks for try the app
Edit: The app works okey from 4.0 and above I think, but not works always. The problem is that this app needs to reconect from internet to force whatsapp to update the messages and I can only do that from 5.0 (using internet data, not wifi).
Version 1.21, compatibility from Jelly Bean
In this new version must work from android 4.1, but take care, if at the moment to send the message you are not connected to wifi, the message will be delayed. I will fix this problem as soon as possible.

Thanks for this questions are very interesting.
I gonna explain the conditions, are very easy:
If you are connected to WIFI, the app turn off the wifi and reconect again in 5 seconds.
If the WIFI is off then turn off data and reconect in 5 seconds.
I think with this two conditions I maneged the comun scenarios.
I will work to add group messages.
You have any other idea to add to app?
Thanks!
Version 2.0
Hi, I'm here again, I uploaded a new version to google play solving the most popular error.
- Now if you have not the sqlite3 file, the app will automatically add it to your xbin folder.
- New design.
- Solved problem with some country phone number.
- Now you can modify manually the phone number.
If you see any error contact with me please.
Thanks!

Is very important to download the new version if before was not working.
Thanks.

I Use "Disa", which is an "Allinone" Messenger ... which is (at the moment) not on the black list from WhatsApp!
So, i have both Whatsapp Accounts running on my OPT ... one with official WA and the second with Disa ... its also very simple without any modding or else!

Derp, corrected.
Another option for dual WhatsApp accounts is to create another user on the phone, meaning you don't have to root/look for unofficial clients, but it will be more messy switching between the two.

*EDIT* -- I figured out a way that people can test to see if their phone natively supports Work Profiles (required for Android for Work using Google's MDM): Test DPC, Google's profile test app for developers. If you (or anyone else reading this) is able, could you download Test DPC on your ze551kl and at least go through the initial steps in setup? If the phone doesn't support Work Profiles it will through up a message saying as much (tested the app on an s4, which got that error message) in the first few steps of the setup.
All more general searches I do only bring up results for the recent firmware update that added support to the ze551ml (not the ze551kl). When I narrow the search enough to exclude that model from the results, I only get results for lists of articles or queries that have separate, unrelated posts for ze551kl and Android for Work.
It's too bad all manufacture's don't just include support for the Work Profile (i.e., the AT&T S4 I currently use issued as a work phone still doesn't support it).
So -- does anyone know the answer to this question? I'd really appreciate it.
Its got the ability to have different user profiles, but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to. Is it an app or would it be in the settings menu somewhere?

It's a bit different than user profiles, but similar.

It essentially creates a containerized section on the phone for Google Apps for Work. You end up with "two" hangouts, gmail, contacts, etc (which is nice, because it removes the account from switching account options in apps -- like when you share to Hangouts and it makes you select an account everytime if you have more than one). Instead of the work accounts device policy enabling it to see all apps installed on phone, have permissions to remote wipe, the Work Profile makes it so that the work account device policy can only see information in the Work Profile, and only has permissions to remote wipe the work profile.
I currently use Android for Work on my Moto X Pure 2014, and carry a separate s4 issued by work. I'd like to just put both of those sims into one phone, but I need something decent, that supports data on both sims (data connection active on both at same time not required), that also supports Android for Work.
Gotcha, I don't really see any Android for work options anywhere in mine, is there anything you had to download from the Play Store on your Moto X to get it working?

Unfortunately it's only something you can verify if you start setting up a Google apps account that can use it. Otherwise it doesn't show up anywhere.
I really appreciate you digging around for it though.

Ahh gotcha. If I hear something, I'll let you know. Might be worth a shot to email ASUS about it.

Unfortunately, we have an answer. Maybe there's hope they'll add support with the Android M update?

We can only hope. Really appreciate you taking the time to test it!
Still trying to figure out if all devices on Marshmallow (whether launched with it, or updated to it) include support for Work Profile. Seems like that's the case, but having a hard time finding a definitive answer.

That would be awesome if 6.0 supports Android for work natively, at this point it probably should.
