Go to recovery, DON'T decrypt data (click in cancel when the dots shows up), go to wipe and format data. You shouldn't see any errors formating data if you don't deprypt it first.
As far as I know the only roms that support encryption is Bootleggers and Havoc, but with Havoc I lose mobile internet after some time and with Bootleggers gcam doesn't work for me.

I don't know what happened or what I did wrong I remember flashing a stock rom (7.0 , 2.41.605.20) decided to flash super user zip everything seemed successful until I noticed at the very bottom it said in red letters "UNABLE TO MOUNT STORAGE" ...did some digging and it seems the fix is to format my data in TWRP and I know this will wipe EVERYTHING ...My question is ... is this the preferred method ? how to prevent this from happening again and is there anything I need to know before...formating my data in recovery? or is it really this simple ? thank you in advance for any help!!!
VERIZON HTC 10 S-OFF UNLOCKED SENSE 7.0 NOUGAT FIRMWARE VERSION 2.41.605.20 TWRP (NEWEST) FORGOT VERSION#

yes yes i've installed twrp, i've actually tried formatting my data, clearing dalvik cache (thru twrp) then restarted it but still stuck at loading zenfone logo. i dont care bout my data on phone, just wanna get my phone back to normal.
can u please elaborate bout reflashing rom? i've never done flashing any rom before , stock or custom,
Never done this on my M1 but on my note edge,
When i got a bootloop, i simply reinstall stock rom, or just clean install custom rom

Ok so it's good opportunity to try something new...first you need to download custom rom and gapps package to sd card (always a better option)or internal storage...do the downloads on pc or somewhere else...
1. Wipe cache, dalvik cache, system, vendor, data, internal storage(this one is optional)
2. Mount extsd card
3. Install Rom package...(i personally use xenonhd based on pie) from here https://mirrors.c0urier.net/android...tal/X00T/XenonHD-181007-Experimental-X00T.zip
You can try any other of your choice
4. Install Gapps package from here..http://download2264.mediafire.com/r0vq21tabscg/m1u4llu62bdwyos/BiTGApps-arm64-9.x.x-0.1-unsigned.zip
5. This step is optional if you want root access then flash magisk package from here..https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v17.1/Magisk-v17.1.zip and uninstall package from https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v17.2/Magisk-uninstaller-20180921.zip ......after tge rom boot up install magisk manager from https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/manager-v6.0.0/MagiskManager-v6.0.0.apk
6. Reboot to system..first boot up will take 4-5 minutes...ENJOY
so i tried flashing the stock rom but i got an error
Code:
[B] This package is for "ASUS_X00TD" devices; this is a "X00TD"[/B]
i got the rom at asus.com/ph/Phone/ZenFone-Max-Pro-ZB602KL/HelpDesk_BIOS/
i guess i'll try flashing with a custom rom instead?
also a follow up question: is it safe to reboot to recovery with twrp even my phone has no OS installed (already wiped it for flashing a new rom)

Hello All,
I am on stock debloated ROM and when I try to flash Arrow Pie ROM with gapps, the flash is successful and I can boot into the new ROM.
When I try flashing Citrus or Revenge OS Roms which are also Pie based, flash is successful, but it takes me to a 'Enter password' screen. Can anybody please help me here?
Things to note:
I am on the latest TWRP (3.2.3.1)
When I go to Security settings on the phone, it shows that my phone is Encrypted.

Skip the password screen and decrypt your data partition by formatting it (the option where you have to confirm with "yes", not just swipe in TWRP). Caution: Your data will be lost, so backup everything.
I wanted to upload a new rom to my phone (pine, 16GB), but it will never boot. Always after rebooting, TWRP will be loaded again. I'm tried multiple ROMs (LineageOS, DotOS, MokeeOS ), but the problem occurs for all rom. TWRP says, flash succed for every one system, but not booting after reboot.
I'm used twrp-3.5.0_9-20210101-pine-arm64 version. Only I can do flash a stock rom using MiFlash, but no custom rom via TWRP.
Mi device is correctly unlocked via Official Unlock Tool app.
Can you tell me why?
Thanks
Maybe try another twrp version or another completely like OrangeFox can't really tell you why i don't have as much knowledge in why or how it works but i have tried a lot on mine so this should be ur first troubleshooting step from my point of view also have you flashed the ROMs with their instructions some say the sequence you should format or wipe ur data etc...
Working for now,
The problem was that I didn't choose to Format data
hi!
i was in the middle of installing a new custom rom on my mi 9t/k20 (i think global/eu which was running miui 11 previously) and i wiped the partitions as follow: dalvik, cache, data and system
i believe that the only thing concerning on that list would be the system partition being wiped.
currently my device is stuck in fastboot mode (i can still send commands to it and do stuff) but i dont ave a recovery ...
so i have an idea of a plan which is:
1. flash twrp
2. wipe the 4 partitions again
3. reinstall the stock rom
4. update the phone to miui 12
5. wipe the partitions again
6. install custom rom twrp and magisk
is there anything i should know before i do this?
also some links to working twrp version would be nice (lost the original version that i had installed)

-When installing custom ROMs (changing ROM types), you have to F O R M A T Data (not Wipe) - it's totally different (stronger) and can be found elswhere in guides
-Wiping System is totally bogus: new ROM will nevertheless replace the System (no matter did you wipe it or not)
However, if you are changing from MIUI CN to Global or so - then totally different procedure applies.
It's not enough to flash the new System but also to change the Vendor.
For that case google for and read about using MIUI Flash

I don't really know what else you might have (possibly) mesed up. I have just updated the previous post so please read again the part about MIUI Flash
(If you were not changing from CN/EEA/Russia to Global or so but only installing a custom/AOSP ROM, then if you wiped Data instead of formatting - you would be bootlooping niw to TWRP and you would simply need to Format Data to fix it
But if you were really changing from eg CN to Global by just flashing System - that is TOTALLY WRONG way, why didn't you research how to do it properly by MIUI Flash?
In that case you could still try MIUI Flash, if not working you would need somebody with paid EDL support (I cannot help you for that)
Sorry, good night now

no i havent changed the region form the phone ... however my currently big problem is that im stuck in fastboot mode and i cannot enter recovery i could try and reflash recovery via fastboot but im not sure if that would break it even more. and since there is no OS on the devices either i cant use adb either. my last hope rn is fastboot and idk what to do rn to fix all this back to factory OS state or a similiar state

As said, something more terribly messed up. Please google and research about using MIUI Flash (TG, I didn't need to use hence cannot help, but there are GOOD guides on the Net)
