I've followed the guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17205291
and stopped at the step 14. Thus I've just flashed my HTC HD2 from WM6.5 to WP7, upgraded via Zune to 7.10.7712.60.
Questions:
(1) I want to keep ability to upgrade my HD2/WP7 through Zune in future (no manual pushing of cab-files).
Would I be able to do that if I now did the optional steps 15.-16. and apply cab-files to upgrade to HD2-7720 (WP7 Mango)?
(2) For the moment I cannot activate my Windows Live ID. My device is currently identified as HTC HD2 (Settings -> About) and I cannot apply chevronwp7.exe to modify model name (it works for 7004/7008 only).
Can I call to Microsoft to obtain activation code? Or should I first change model name somehow?
(3) I want to develop apps for WP7 and guess it's better to jailbreak the device.
Can I do that with 7712/7720 (e.g., with WP7 Update Cab Sender or Application Deployment included in MS Windows Phone Developer Tools)? Or the only way is to re-flash WP7 from the beginning: to 7004 (or 7008), crack with chevronwp7.exe, change model name, upgrade again to 7712/7720?
Thanks,
Michael

2. this no matter... in registry is HD7 info and you can activate Live services without problem... you only give Name and phone number to microsoft... nothing else
3. ROM is already jailbreaked... dont forged to do hard reset when done upgrade to 7720...
@dxdy
Thanks for the clarification.
Regarding 3.
If it's jailbroken, does it mean I can install apps directly without Windows Marketplace? How? What else can I do (e.g., access file system etc.)?
yes, use Tom XAP Installer
I have unlocked samsung focus...I want to update to Mango and reserve my unlock but have no idea how to do it...I am new to Windows phone so please point me to the right direction here is the phone information
OS version: 7.0.7004.0
Firmware revision number: 2103.10.10.1
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7
Radio software version: 2103.10.10.1
radio hardware version: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader version: 4.10.0.1
Chip SOC version: 0.36.2.0
any help would be appreciated...
If your Focus is rev 1.3 and you have your device unlocked then:
1.Download and deploy Samsung root tools from here, open it on the phone, check Remove Sideload limit, Prevent Device Relocking, press apply then reboot.
2.Download WP7 Root Tools from here and New SMS Unlock.xap from here, deploy both.
3.Open WP7 Root Tools go to explorer section, then create a new folder and name it provxml, then go to Applications>Install>D19A80F2-1717-...........>Install then copy unlock.xml from there and past it in the provxml folder you created earlier.
4. Open Zune check for updates and update to 7008.
5. Start Zune
6. Turn off Data connection and Wifi on the Phone
7. Connect the Phone with the PC (USB)
8. Start the update search in Zune
9. About 3 seconds later, disconnect your PC from the internet (Turn WLAN off).
10. Zune finds NoDo-Update. Press OK.
11. Connect to the internet again and install the update.
12 Do the same as 5-11 to update to build 7403
13. Zune will automatically find Mango update, update it to mango.
14. If you have diagnosis application installed then uninstall it, open phone and dial ##634#, diagnosis will open, then dial *#9908#, GPRS Manager will open, select unlock, then press save, wait 3 sec. then close it.
Now you have unlocked Mango on focus.

The rev version is written under the battery of the phone.
If you have your device developer unlocked by Chevron Unlocker, to install .xap file you will need WP7 SDK, download and install it to your pc, after that there will be Application Deployment tool, you can use that to deploy(install) applications to your phone.
I Flashed back to RTM and chevron unlocked, then proceded to update
Comfirmed working on Omnia 7

Once your device is sim unlocked, you can do whatever you want, it won't be locked back.
Hi
I have a Samsung Omnia 7 of Mango (7.10.7720.68), I want to unlock it to be able to install the xap file.
Is there already a way to unlock the Omnia with Mango?
search button wouldnt hurt...
omnia with mango nope, but omnia with pre-nodo yep
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152422
I can use the search option.
But I am interested in unlocking from Mango, no Nodo.
I have no backup, I bought the phone already installed Mango, which is why the question of unblocking from Mango.
I have a similar problem! I had chevron unlocked NODO but whe i upgraded to mango the phone was locked . Is there any solution to get the phone to keep unlock?

I see that it requires a side-load app. How do I get the phone (Focus/Mango) to sideload apps if it isn't unlocked already. I know I'm missing a step, and can't seem to find it in search.
I know the original post was for unlocking mango without reverting back to 7004/8 but I don't think it's possible at this point. However I eventually found getting to chevron unlocked mango from unlocked nodo very easy thanks to snickler from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224139 but it took many headaches to find his info so will reproduce here with 1 slight alteration now official mango is released over zune.
From snickler's instructions (follow his post to get links)
**Make sure you are UNLOCKED already and on NoDo**
1. Grab the following tools
Unlock.xml XAP - Here
WP7 Root Tools 0.5 alpha - Here
Samsung Tools - Here
2. Deploy all 3 XAPs to your phone
3. Open WP7 Root Tools
Swipe to the right in order to access the "Explorer" file system view.
Press the (+) at the bottom to create a folder in the root
make the folder name "provxml" and press Done
check and make sure that this folder is created in the root
4. Copy the unlock.xml to the provxml folder
use instructions from the unlock XML Xap link I've posted above.
5. Follow Mango Update Instructions:
Zune should go through 2 updates to get to mango 7720.68
After the update, uninstall Diagnosis from your applications list if you had previously installed it. Then dial ##634# and press call to (re)install. In the diagnostics app dial *#9908# to open the GPRS Manager. You should see an "unlock" entry from the drop-down menu.
Select the unlock.xml and press Save. It should give a message about Loading the GPRS profile. Let it sit for a few seconds then press done.
See if you can open Samsung Tools afterwards. If you can, then you are unlocked. WP7 Root Tools will NOT open in Mango.
i have wp7 root tools working in mango.
i made all the steps with said, and unlock interlop.
works fine
Like already said before: It isn't possible to DEVELOPER-UNLOCK Mango as long as you didn't prepare it while running an older version.
Hello!

hardware version: 3.15.0.4
Radio Software: 2424.11.9.1
Radio hardware: 0.0.0.800

Is there any way to unlock or "jailbreak"/root my device? ive red about nodo version but as ive seen i cant do that on my phone due to the update.
Is there any way. And yes ive searched the forums but cant find anything that informs any unlock or root for this only for the same version with nodo.
It is not possible to use the vcreg tutorial on a 640 or the rombuilder tutorial on a 1520, but you can still unlock them by reflashing a FFU containing mixradio
Step 0) Put vcreg_bootstrap from http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-vcreg-lumia-reg-editor-live-interop-t3135326 on your sdcard and remove your simcard to avoid any data connection
Step 1) Flash a FFU with Nokia mixradio installed (alternative: hard reset)
Step 2) Disable system updates, disable app update from the store, dont connect to wifi just to be on the safe side!!
Step 3) Use Storage sense to move Mixradio to the sdcard
Step 4) Enable developper access with the 8.1 SDK and Install CustomWPSystem from http://xb0xmod.perso.sfr.fr/CustomWPSystem_0601.xap
Step 5) Follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64350590&postcount=318 to patch Mixradio with vcreg, then use this vcreg to unlock your device.
Step 6) Install vcreg_sideload for permanent unlock (I used WPV XAP Deployer 2.0)
Step 7) Blacklist extra+info and advanced info as indicated in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64213053&postcount=304
In HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PackageManager\Blacklist, create DWORD32 entries containing "1" for extra&info, extra+info:
{2377fe1b-c10f-47da-92f3-fc517345a3c0}
{4c2aae0a-5e94-4d47-99e3-2608e34c536a}
and for advanced info:
{B6E3E590-9FA5-40C0-86AC-EF475DE98E88}
I finished my 640 (to install maps on the SD card) and also unlocked a 1520 like that today, so it works. Also, you do not depend on any store files which could be removed or updated. The whole procedure is done offline, and then applications blocking the registery update are blacklisted.
This does not work with rombuilder. I am looking for a way to patch mixradio with rombuilder. I think it may be due to different capabilities required. Any help or information is welcome.
Will this method sim or network unlock a 640?
Step 4) Enable developper access with the 8.1 SDK - does this really can be done offline?
Hello there, I have just bought a Mi A1 for my father and get notified on system update (October patch that is over 1 GB of size). However, download seems to never progress even though I have an internet connection. Is it possible to download the update using PC, put it somewhere on the phone directory and use the System Update to flash it? My father doesn't want to get his phone bootloader unlocked and rooted.
He also already experienced SIM card not being detected twice over two days which require phone reboot to make it detect it again (SIM card is at slot 1, SD card is at slot 2). Is there any known problems and workaround with this device regarding that issue?
Thank you in advance.
Hey you can try flashing the latest rom through mi flash tool. This is will not make any change to your bootloader status. You just need to download and extract the rom somewhere on the C: folder and the rest of the tutorial you can find on this page (its for a different phone but works the same way on A1)
http://en.miui.com/thread-142056-1-1.html
Also you can find all the downloads for A1 on this page:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/rom-mirrors-mi-a1-stock-androidone-rom-t3696821
And you can grab minimal adb and fastboot here (extract them in the same folder that you extract the rom)

All the best
