Hi,
I have downloaded Pie via OTA but did not install it. Where are the downloaded files via OTA in the phone saved? Want to delete them too as Pie reviews in the M1 are not good.
Thanks

I remember uninstalling Video from TiTanium Backup...I think i have f..ed up my stock video player! ;/
After applying the files in the system/app... the purple icon of video appears in my menu... I open it and when I click on the videos, as I have told you before it says that Unfortunately, Video has stopped. Also if I want to go the the Settings of the app it says "Unable to retrieve information from the store main. Please try again."

yep, tried that already... the notification is gone now, I didn't do anything except install fotakill.apk, weird. anyway it's gone I am cool with it.
Hey,
Immediately after I've downgraded from Lollipop to Kitkat, the phone started downloading the Lollipop update (before I was able to disable the auto-update option).
I want to delete that file, but I can't find it. According to many how-tos I've found it's supposed to be in the /cache folder, but it isn't. I've tried searching for "fota" and "n9005" (because most firmware names have that string in it), but didn't find it.
My phone is rooted.
I've also looked at the Software Updater app in Settings/applications/all to try to clear the cache, but it says it only has 12kb cache.
Does anyone have an idea where I could find the file?
Look for it in /data/fota

Perfect, there it was! Thank you so much.
Any idea how to get rid of the update message? It keeps asking to install the update although I've removed the file.
I've read to accept the installation. Then it will reboot, and nothing will happen. But I don't dare doing that. Are there other ways? Or is this method safe?
Thanks!
Freeze the system updater package using Titanium backup.

Any other options which don't require the need to install extra apps?
Simply rename the package (something like SamsungUpdates.apk.BAK) then reboot.

And isn't that Samsung updater necessary for other things?
No, and in case you face problems, rename it back to .apk
Or, you can go to Settings/Application Manager and disable the Notifications of Google Play Services.

And how about the option to click on "install". Will that work to get rid of the notifications, since there is no file anymore to install?

Sorry, i can't recommend something i didn't tried myself. But i think you don't risk anything by trying.

I'll have a look into it a bit further, and I'll let you know if I do it and what its result is.
I've finally gotten the guts to press the "install" button, and it immediately said that OTA updates aren't supported on modified devices. Gone notification, even after reboot. Yay
Hi all,
I flashed LineageOS 16 successfully but not without difficulty.
I would like to know about folders and files which are in
-> Advanced -> File manager when we are in recovery (TWRP)
Because I find that there are a lot of folders and files
sometimes with strange names. Malicious files can
do they slip inside? Is this a problem if I delete everything?
Thank you in advance. :good:

Hi,
There are a lot of files and folders but this is the first time that I install lineageOS.
I thought wipe an android would erase everything a bit like formatting a pc or there is nothing left on the disk. So it may be normal ...?
Thank's

Hi
in my BS2 there is a message about an available update,
I choose to download and install, after downloading it shows a message
that I have the latest version already installed, currently I have android 9 and the upgrade should be 10,
I checked several times and still the same,
it looks like update has created the ota_package directory and there is a file to update,
why don't you do it manually? the ota system is problematic so far.

Why use the computer?
first of all, use your phone's explorer. access the file update.zip and press on it. choose move, and then choose internal storage. then create there the OTA folder and after that enter that folder. In there, you will paste the update.zip file. And you're ready.
