Is anyone else getting an almost constant beeping sound? Beeping might not be the best way to describe it. It's like a quiet pulsing notification chime or something. It appears to only happen in the right ear. I thought at first it was to tell me I had a notification on phone but I didn't. I opened wear app and there was nothing. Earbuds were both at 95%.
It has happened Everytime I've worn them and it is so annoying to the point I can use them.
I read some threads for the iconx of people getting a constant beeping while moving and it had something to do with either a. One of the sensors or b. Overheating. I haven't experienced any iver heating but it does seem to happen while I'm either running or walking.
I can only guess. The short sound means the the earpiece detects that you wearing them. This sound can be heard immediatelly if you put them in your ears. Each earpiece has a proximity sensor and a gyroscope. The combination of sensors can then detect if you really wear them or if they are held in the hands. I would tip on a sensor miscalibration or sensor problem.
Try to factory reset them in the Samsung wearable app.
I believe I kno what your talking about, I get a pulse in ear. I just attributed to the bluetooth.
Yes! I'm not going mad then!!! I keep thinking it's a quiet notification of something like email, that I have chosen not to receive notifications on when I'm working out. It's like a quiet background reminder. Except there is no email! It has been happening since the last update.
Have you tried resetting them via the app?
Glad to see I'm not the only one! The beeping was driving me crazy this past weekend as I was cutting grass. I kept looking at my phone thinking I had an email or text message but nothing was there. I'll try factory resetting and see if that fixes the problem.
If its a beeping sound the buds are overheating. If its that funny chime sound that I hear randomly I think its something with the sensors on the buds.
Is there any update to this? The sound is very annoying when I'm wearing it while walking. It won't stop.
It could be your hearing aid battery running out or tinnitus, I'd see the doctor.

I've noticed over the past few weeks that my TyTN now seems to be interfering with itself. As in the noise that your speakers make when your phone is near them and communicating with the tower. Only it seems to be doing this to it's own internal speaker. Btw my service is Cingular. Anyone else experiencing this?
My 8525 just started doing that about a week ago.
It's a faint sound just like you would hear through radio speakers
except it's coming right from the headset. (not speaker-phone)
Yea, it's just as if that gsm interference sound is interfering with it's own speaker.
Others have reported a louder noise coming the back speaker when their Hermes was just setting on the table or night stand.
In response someone suggested that maybe the battery wasn't insulated well enough.
I have cingular and I had a similar problem with my Razr, so far I haven't had the problem with my 8525 which I just got last week. It was really annoying.
I've found that this only tends to happen when I have the display turned off. Also, turning the display on when this happens appears to immediately stop it. Odd.
it seems the speaker on the hermes is not shielded properly. i had this problem on my old samsung z100.
Same here with my v1605 - an annoyingly loud hum. After a soft reset, it does not occur until any sound file (e.g. ring tone) is played. Switching the display on stops it temporarily.
With my first one, it started after about a week and became really annoying, so I got it swapped. With the replacement I got then it occured twice so far, but it has been quiet now for maybe 10 days.
Ciao

Ditto with my 8525. Very annoying.
I'm having the same issue with a brand-new 8525. It doesn't always seem to happen (I'm using direct push), but sometimes when it is receiving mail it will.
Anyone found a fix or really nailed down what the issue is?
yeah, i have a similar problem. whenever i'm connecting to a phone call or data session it makes buzzing noises in my computer speakers. i would love a fix for this.
Hi,
Just got my Desire HD today and it's all good except I've noticed a rattle when the vibrator kicks in, ie when you're entering text for a message etc that is a very different sound to the actual vibrator itself. Has anyone else noticed it?

Dude! have the exact same Issue! I was going insane, because i thought it happened after i dropped my phone. But You're saying you have it and your phone is new. Anyone else?
My vibration motor failed last Friday. Makes a scraping/clicking/whining noise depending on how I hold it. Never dropped and kept in a HTC leather pouch all the time.
HTC UK quoted 28+ days to repair as "there is a backlog of repairs, due to us moving repair centres". Told them to fcuk right off, not waiting that length of time.
Twisted Phones4U's arm (who I bought the handset off) and they reluctantly agreed a replacement.
I'm still waiting for that, as the first replacement had extremely poor fitting covers, both battery & SIM/SD card.
Sorry to hear that andy. But the issue we are describing is the vibrator producing a rattling "click" sporadically when delivering haptic feedback. It's close in sound to an ipod keypress osund (LOL, didn't know how to describe it otherwise). It's a minor issue, but it's driving me insane! We want to see how many people have noticed it, and if there is a solution/workaround
Same issue here - worked fine for the first week of owning the phone and since then the vibrate function rattles so loud it's embarassing so I avoid using it altogether (not to mention it's a horrible high pitched sort of sound).
I have, however, noticed that if I gently squeeze the left and right sides of the phone and test the vibrate function it works correctly as it's meant to (I try to avoid doing this often as I'm scared I'll damage the screen by putting too much pressure on it). It's almost as if the vibrate motor gains some breathing room and space for movement.
This leads me to believe that either the various removable covers are no longer a decent fit (and they were a pretty bad fit to begin with) and are causing the rattle or the whole case has warped somehow causing the vibrate feature to play up.
I'd be interested to see if any other people confirm this to be an issue.
I have baught my Desire HD around 6 months back. Even my phone gives rattle sound (Something like there are some loose part inside). I don't remember if I have this issue when I bausght the phone, But I am facing this since long time.
In some threads they say the metal ring around the camera could be loose and it rattles when the phone vibrates. Maybe it could be that but my phone vibration is weak but normal.
there comes more and more a louder sound when the phone is vibrating. but when its in my bag, its sometimes better i hear it a bit
Hey all,
I just got my RMA device, which overall is a great improvement over my current nexus 4. The problem I literally just started to encounter while testing it all out is sound not working. Youtube was working fine, sound and all, then I installed a few more apps (harmless ones that I had on the other phone, and are well known and trusted). Now the sound flat out will not work on youtube, or through the google play stream. I can select ring tones fine, and the examples play, so it seems that the speakers work.... Tried playing fruit ninja, no sound. I'm pretty baffled, but also a huge noob at android, so I might be missing some stupid simple?
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.
ETA: Apparently the speakers only work when it comes to listening to ring tones, and the noise made when raising or lowering the volume of the ringer. Other than that, I'm getting jack **** for sound. Appears the mic doesn't work either, as when I talk into the google search or the talk to text, it does absolutely nothing but tell me to talk into the mic, then tells me to tap to talk since it didn't pick anything up. Guess I've got another RMA coming, and of course all the problems that were fixed with this RMA will be back again, probably along with a ****ed up yellow screen. **** you, Google. **** you, LG. I've never had such ****ty buying experiences.
Bump because I'm utterly confused.
The sound/mic work but it seems to only last a short time. I had left the RMA phone off all night, turned it on, and lo and behold, the sound works. So did the mic, it would pick up everything I said when pushing the google search mic icon. Decided to try out youtube, put on a two minute video, which had sound. 3/4 of the way through the video, the video stuttered, buffered, and the sound was gone. Mic no longer picked up anything I said. Annoyance was had.
Turn the phone off AGAIN, leave it off for a few hours. Come back to see if I can even call people, if the mic is not working. Click the google search mic icon to test it out, there is sound and it picks up my voice. Try out an 8 minute video this time, sound works fine (maybe a little quiet) until the ~6 minute mark, then cuts out again! I decide to try a call, since the mic is no longer picking up my voice when I do google voice search. I call my old cdma phone, put it on speaker, and speak into it. I can hear myself clearly through the cdma phone, no problem. I end the call, and lo and behold, sound again!
I am completely baffled as to this issue. Is it a hardware problem? Is it a software problem? Anyone with lots of experience have any theories? I have no idea whether I need an RMA or some sort of software update. As of right now Im' running the phone as I got it, I did a factory reset this morning. Last night when the sound was cutting off, it had the OTA and numerous apps installed/updated.
Has anyone else noticed the earpiece speaker rattles/vibrates during calls on their Note 4? Its not terrible, but its defo noticable and really annoying. I expected a perfect new phone. Was wondering if this is a general issue before I swap handset?
I havent noticed but could it be the camera module, hold phone close to ear and shake gently, same noise?
I'd say go for a replacement, mine does not make any obscure noise, my 1st note 3 however had an obnoxious vibration from the speaker.
Looks like I will have to go for a replacement I think. Theres no sound coming from camera. Thanks for the suggestion though. I even tried taking the back off the phone to see if it was that vibrating slightly, but no different. Tried pressing against top part of pbone too as thought this may firm up any loose parts, but had no joy. Its a pain as just set all settings as I wanted and really wanted to avoid replacement. Oh well lol. Thank you for your reply, appreciated!
Finally managed to change phone after store got new stock in. Turns out I had a faulty handset. New one is perfect, no unwanted sound from earpiece at all!
Hi,
I'm loving my OnePlus 5, but there is a strange behaviour with incoming calls. When the phone is ringing and vibrating, sometimes a really bad buzzing sound occurs every few seconds.
It doesn't happen with every call and I have absolutely no idea what's triggering it. I've thought about the vibration motor, but then it shouldn't only make that sound for some calls.
Anyone else with this issue?
Ok, I've done some tests and can easily reproduce the issue:
It happens when vibration is set to strong, like it is set default for calls, and the phone is lying somewhere. As soon as i touch the phone a little bit or take it in the hand, the sound stops. It cames definitely from the top (right?) of the phone.
It would be nice, if anyone could check if their phone makes the same noises. Either call your phone or simply go to vibrations settings.
I've made a video of the vibration sound on strong settings. Would anyone please be so kind to check it on his/her device? You can hear the strange noise pretty well.
OnePlus support told me it was normal.

Just tried on mine, doesn't have the issue, the support is clearly ****ing with you. If i had this issue, I would just get nuts

Thanks for your reply. I've set vibration to medium as a workaround. It would have been hard to believe every device is doing this ugly noise, especially since you hear it with standard settings for incoming calls.
Nevertheless I'd appreciate any further feedback wether his/ her device is affected or not.
Bro, I'd like to know if this issue got fixed for you? I am commenting because I started noticing this too.

I had to RMA the phone. Unfortunately it's the only solution.
I have 2 days left before my 10-day-replacement policy is over. You're saying, your replacement device doesn't have the issue?
