I've noticed that with the latest update (end of march) that wireless powershare now has it's own notification light on the heart rate sensor (blue = powershare ready/on, red = charging a device, green = done charging other device). Does anyone know if somebody is developing an app for broader use of this such as SMS notifications, etc? I'm currently using Holey Light and it's fine. But I'd prefer an actual LED. I'd try to do it myself but I don't know the first thing about Android programming.
EDIT:
Oops! Thought I was in the Q/A section. Feel free to move...
EDIT 2:
No green light. Instead the lights go off, powershare is stopped, and a regular notification comes up saying device charged.
Yeah I did notice that when I was charging my friend's phone her battery finally died on her s6 and I was trying to do a wireless charge to make sure it wasn't just the charging port

Can anyone explain to me HTC's logic in this:
"The indicators are listed in order of priority. For example, if your device is connected to a power adapter and is charging the battery, the LED will be solid amber and will not switch to a flashing green light even if there is a pending notification."
I keep my phone on the charger a lot of the time and I have missed several voice mails and text messages as a result of this behavior. Is there a way to change this (I am stock/unrooted) or anything in the marketplace that will fix it?

HTC does this, and it drives me crazy. It was the same way on my TP2 - if charging, it'll be orange. If fully charged, it will be green. It will stay that way, even in the presence of a notification.
I'd love to see green flashing over the orange when charging. Maybe the LED flashing OFF with a notification while fully charged. Probably not going to happen though, it never did for the TP2.
You'll need to root to fix something like this, if we even have access to it.
There's an app called always flash that does exactly that you just need root

So, I plug my phone on the desktop charger and a few hours later the brightest blue LED I have ever seen shines in my face and actually wakes me up. Is there a mod or patch or whatever to disable the full charge led? Maybe make it dim?
I use blue led for sms and I don't think its bright at all. But there is no way to disable full charge led

Thanks for the quick response. However, I am hoping that someone might be able write a quick mod to fix the issue. Also, it is not too bright unless it is 1AM and it is the only light in the room.
Here is the patch I installed to deal with this issue.

That's what we want to do put ****ing tape. On our phone. Thanks.
I too get woke up by the annoying blue LED.
Slightly less wise-ass comment.........put the phone face down.
My Nexus One had a LED in addition to the notification LED. Does this phone only have the notification LED? Does that or anything else light up for anyone when they are charging? It sure doesn't for me .
Edit: Since it may not be crystal clear I am referring to the absence of any LED indicating charging status. Most phones have this; red/amber while charging and green when fully charged. Would be nice to know when the phone is fully charged without having to turn the screen on.
download lightflow from playstore, im using it for custom colours and flash rates for all notifications now, should we have to? no, but seeing as they called it in its your best option.
The gnex by default didn't have a charging led it was only ever used for notifications so presumably the nexus 4 has went the same route. But as mentioned there are apps to allow the led to be used for this purpose

Hi, I have a Google Nexus 4. For some reason, the phone will not turn on. It is fully turned off, but charges properly. When connected to charger, it displays the battery charging icon, but when you hold down the power button, nothing happens. The battery seems to be charging properly and the display seems to be fully functional as well. There is no root done on the phone or flashing. The phone has never been worked on before, does anybody have any suggestions as to what it could be? The power button clicks properly but I cannot turn on the phone at all, please help.
How much is the battery percentage? And is your notification light blinking red? And when was the last time you used the phone and what was the last thing you did?
The last time i used my phone was over 8 months ago, the battery indicator on screen shows around 80% which was definitely charging, it was dead to begin with and i left it charging for an hour nd a half before attempting to turn it on. There was no red light on the notification that is typically set when the phone is on and charging. The phone is completely turned off. And when charging doesn't show a light.

So I updated to Android version 8.1.0 last night and the first thing I noticed is the yellow charging LED does not work.
I looked for settings, but I do not think this is an option to turn on and off.
Anyone else seeing this or other issues with 8.1.0?
Did I make a mistake jumping to 8.1.0 too soon?

Mine works fine as intended.
Charging LED is still working after update. You can enable it Disable it in notification settings.

Thanks for the reply, the blue message LED works fine, my yellow charging LED did not work.
I may power cycle the phone again to see if this sorts the issue and maybe if the battery is close to fully charged for some reason the yellow LED does not come on?
Will see if others have similar issues.
As @seabro01 said above, it's now a setting which is OFF by default.
Go to Settings -> Apps & Notifications -> Notifications -> Toggle Battery charging light.

That's it, thanks, I thought I knew where to find the setting, but must have missed it.
