Friends, I found lots question on the xda about best Oreo Rom for Kenzo (SD, 2Gb) . We all know MIUI 9 MM or other MIUI 9 based custom roms are ram hungry. There are so many alternative roms which have poor ram management issue, battery drain problem. Now I will tell you something about best Oreo Rom even the best custom rom for Kenzo. I have been using it from 28 Dec 2017 after being dissatisfied with MIUI9 N (battery, volte issue, lags, poor camera), NOS 7.0/8.0/8.1,( battery draining, poor ram management), citrus caf (battery draining, poor ram management, Lags), Cardinal AOSP( good rom but ram management is poor).
If you are looking for a 8.1 roms then i will say Havoc or ABC , some one said on different post about ABC is very smooth, running PUBG very well without any lag but i dont play high graphics game so i can't say about it.
I personally a fan of Havoc due to its customization and stability . No heating issue on normal uses, not hotspot or wifi issue, very good battery backup with Agni 12.8 . in build font changing option, in build boot animation changing option , pie control , rounded ui, colour Engine , Android P animation, android P screen shot editor . Screen on gesture , gesture anywhere , take photo with fingerprint scanner, face auto unlock tc .
So now my preference is Havoc Os. Use latest os with magisk 16.4 + Agni 12.8

The Rom is MCAOSP 8.0 03-12-2017 (https://plus.google.com/u/0/109509643115521921407/posts/ga6DjAbqJ52) . Best part of this Rom is its Ram Management, 1gb out of 2gb free on first boot. With two /three app in background you will get around 650-700 mb free ram. Battery backup is awesome. With Shadow Kernel it becomes more solid. Call quality, signal strength (VOLTE) very good & also better than other custom rom. Sound quality is loud, clear.
Now Cons- No Camera app, No Music Player app, no Gallery, No browser.
So My apps are
1- MIUI browser( APK MIRROR)
2-Phonography Music Player(Google Pay)
3- MIUI Video Plaer( APK MIRROR)
4- Alcatel File Manager( Very Simple, Very Fast)( APK MIRROR)
5- HTC U11 Gallery app ( Believe me , best gallery)( google it)
6-Alcatel Calculator( APK MIRROR)
7-OnePlus Weater APP( very Nice Animation)( APK MIRROR)
8-Flyme OS6 Note App( google it)
9- Magisk 15.2
10-Mix Explorer ( Better than Root Explorer)
11-Substratum ( with Galaxy Evolution Theme)
12-Nova Launcher
13- And for camera--Arnova8G2's Google Camera 1.6. I think we all know about it.(BGS Setting -Model Pixel 2, HDR+ -Nexus 6 HDR+Auto, with this setting you will get front/back potrait working with HDR+ processing. For Slow Motion Recording you can use MIUI Camera APK version.
14-For best sound and bass, use Snapdragon Music FX and place it at system>APP>Music FX. You can find it at XDA.
If any one have volte problem , you can flash VOLTE patch by JamFlux. For detail search in EPIC Redmi note3 forum XDA

1. I didn't test 8.1 , I hope it will be like same 8.0 performance
2-firmware-7.10.12
3-shadow kernel perform very well . Better than agni & radon
4-FOR 4GLTE we should not except same battery backup as miui but it gives better than any custom rom. Please use MIUI Browser
5-I set hex. Mode, with balance profile.
6- Final word- It gives best ram management for my 2Gb KenzoPlease look at attachment
Does mobile network standby stand on top of battery usage (when u use mobile data)?
I have this issue with every Oreo rom :|

nope, I mean ridiculous mobile network standby battery drain, u can check it in battery usage (if u use mobile data a lot)
in my case, it's several percentages higher than screen , so switched to 7.1 ROM

which version are you using? CAF?
Which the build you think which has the best battery backup, performance, stability...?
I think that is Pixel Experience 19/09...
Bump lil
Sent from my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 using XDA Labs
Have not tried all pie roms. But havos os is great. battery backup is good, and I can play pubg at 60 fps smoothly.
how about batery backup sir?
Arrow - never tried
Syberia - bootloop
Havoc- currently using (can be a daily driver but bit poor battery backup)
Pixel experience - best battery backup ever (but u will miss all customisation and it resets my user settings every time I reboot)
Didn't tried any rom yet, but heard that havoc is doing great & I'm not really into customisation so I thought to pick pixel experience but someone said it's resetting user settings on every reboot
Pixel experience - good battery backup but lot of customisation are missing
Havoc- not that good(battery backup mainly the use)
Liquid remix - best rom for me till now
Arrow +1
Pixel Experience was giving me some memory and performance issues on the 2GB variant.
AOSP Extended seems to be a good balance for me, for performance and stability.
Havoc +1
Tried all except nitrogen, and this was the best for me, but I would really like to see a Havoc vs nitrogen os detailed comparison - like stability, bugs, features, because I haven't tried it yet but I wuld like to.
If u have 2GB RAM, don't try havoc, very lag
I use Arrow
Arrow is the best atleast for 2 gb ram variant...I have tried havoc and pixel experience as well.. havoc had lots of bugs and for pixel experience i guess, updates are non existent..only 1 update a month at times. Arrow is a rock solid pie rom for kenzo. Most stable perhaps and bug free ofcourse.
Nos 9 is epic battery life
Nos pie
I have the 2GB variant.
Haven't tried arrow yet. Havoc, Liquid Remix and PE were among the first roms I tried. Havoc seemed pretty solid with good backup, yet the zram puts me behind after some time cause I'm low on ram and storage.
I just want a smooth rom with device specified optimizations, not a aosp camera but the snap camera
The Marshmallow optimizations kind of thing. These roms just seem to "work", nothing more.
What about NOS or Arrow? Any comments?
I've using almost all pie roms in RN3 but pixel experience rom's battery backup much batter then others. Now Im using RR v7. It is similar to pixel experience battle in battery backup. It has lots of customization. So that best pie rom is RRv7 pie rom.
All have deep sleep draining idle draining. But bootlaggers maybe up a head
Have used pixel experience Oreo and was pretty satisfied, then tried resurrection remix pie, it was fine with lot of customisation but was not smooth and fluid. Finally now I am using viper O's version 6, the best I have used till now.....
Havok seems better than other roms the ram management is good and doesn't lag after long use meaning no reboot required and its compatible with a lot mods and doesn't bootloop battery backup is average performance is good enough and customisation is top notch stability is good regular updates no heating issues overall better ROM compared to others.
For me the best of the lot is viper os 6
There are many Pie based roms for redmi 3s and there were many threads asking for best/stable Pie roms! And as anyone would guess and expect, there were many (different) replies further increasing the confusion. This poll will help aggregate the individual responses
So go ahead fellow land users, tell me which Pie based ROM according to your usage is stable in terms of performance, most of the features are working, have good bb along with some customization.
Pixel experience is pretty much stable and well performance
I have been here on this forum since 3 years and the roms with difr, nichcream and teammex sources(not with us now) are the best.....
currently using havoc os unofficial by weritos and this is arguably one of the best roms i have ever used on this device...it is just like liquid remix unofficial by difr but with added goodies of android pie and havoc os....Go for this rom and you wont have to look anywhere else...roms with other sources are slow..especially the reloaded roms and still they give average battery backup..i dont know why some sources follow standard miui cpu management and turn off 2 cpu big cores all the time....it is useless and just lags the system overall...there is no core turning off in nichcream sources..all the cores are active all the time except when battery percentage falls below 5-10%...just install kernel auditor and set min frequency to 422 and 345 for big and little cores and enjoy smoothest, stable and a good battery (8 hours sot)oriented rom!
Sidenote: If you are looking for a bugless, battery oriented rom (with double tap to wake) go for dot os by K7jhin..it is giving regularly more than 9 hours of sot..but ram management sucks

I tried PE but volte wasn't working.. I had to install jio4gvoice to do and receive calls n text. Now that is deal breaker for me coz jio4gvoice do not provide smooth n rich experience not to forget the battery it drains by running all the time

I am just telling my experience, all the Dev's are best, they are the ones who let me explore more in around android and it's versions.
I used custom roms on k5 plus 3gb for 2 years i think.
It was like first few months i used the original rom and then i voided the warranty with custom roms as i saw more possibility and newer versions of android coming better than what i had. I kept exploring every part of the phone, and whatever softwares i could use and get more from this phone. Few roms lasted around 4-5 months. I love the nougat roms still, there is a Android Q rom already here, amazing. It was a good experience, until this last few months i started to have battery drain faster when i would use the hotspot feature or use bluetooth for headsets, and gps was like the most battery drainer. I kept changing roms and seeing what would give more bettery life while using, the sleep/screenoff state uses like no energy and then opposite happen if i use in full brightness outside and gps
Then
today i just tried to see the stock rom backup is working or not, it did, and now i realise that the most stable rom is the stock rom that comes from lenovo. The battery life is just way better than any other roms (+1hour than what you get in current Oreo and pie roms), the performance is back, Dolby Atmos is back and works, the inbuilt vr works.
The apps which were quite heavy lagged in animations in custom roms, stock does it smoothly, and i didn't need to get a small gapps package for performance this time, stock has like most gapps i think and it's smooth.
New stuff like play protect, assistant, well-being, etc are now available for this old lollipop rom as well, most of the features in the future versions are now available to use with simple downloads and a few majisk modules, without harming performance.
i am not sure how secure the rom/os it self is with old security patches. But yeah original rom got to be top 5 in best rom/os available for this device in terms of overall usability in daily life.
Tell me what your experience has been, i will use the stock lenovo again now for sometime. And might get back to custom".:good:

Lenovo stock ROM wasn't that bad but after installing Android 10 (AOSP) Custom ROM on my Vive K5 Plus, it's feels a relief.
Yes there are some minor issues & bugs but over all satisfactory experience.
Personally I will always stick with this ROM over Lenovo stock 5.1

Yep aosp 10 feels good.... I will use it when it gets a bit more updates
AOSP 10 has got another build. I guess the last possible build since Dev may be moving out of Vibe K5 Plus platform.
I have just upgraded to the new build & it's stable enough.
Yes although performance can't be called butter smooth but it's better than previous build & most of the phone features that I may need in daily usage are working fine.
Standby time is good but SoT is on lower side, but I can't blame the ROM, it's my battery which is very old & worn out by now.
Thanks. :fingers-crossed:
The best rom with extended battery life was AOSP extended. i used it for 2 years with Dolby atmos mode and it worked flawlessly. Stock rom eats up battery too fast.

F.A.Q
1. How do I install this kernel? What Do I gain from it?
- Flash Via TWRP or Use FK Kernel Manger's Flasher option. I will also soon provide users with a .json file that you can import into FK Manager to get updates directly!
As I said in the first post, I will not claim extreme speed or hyper Battery life. But you will have a stable, fluid and satisfying experience on your phone.
2. Requirements -
- A unlocked Nokia 6.1, 6.1 Plus or 7 Plus
- A PC with fastboot working
- Stock or custom ROM that boots
- A recovery or FK Kernel Manager
3. Device Heats up alot. Can you do something?
- If your phone heats up, then you should probably consider not playing PUBG: Mobile for 5 hours on a hot day or use LTE continuously.
4. PUBG: Mobile and CODM Lags like crazy. Phone heats and up Enigma kernel dev suck!!!!
- No. I don't suck.
Heavy games utilize every last bit of resource on your phone and your phone has to keep up with all that rendering, sound processing and AI/NPC Controls while keeping a check on your BG Apps. This heavy utilization requires the CPU, Memory Controller and GPU to run at their 100% and that believe it or not produces massive amounts of heat and use a lot of battery power.
I can increase thermal throtlling thresholds but am I gonna? Nope. It is stupid and dangerous.
5. Does GCam Work fine?
- Yes since I replaced the camera drivers from Android 9 sources, Gcam mods will not be affected from shutter button not working or similar. You just have to find a stable Gcam mod for yourself and you're done
6. What about Battery Life, Performance, Fluidity - All the good stuff?
- I put a lot of emphasis on fluidity vs battery or performance because it is just terrible to use a phone that lags, stutters and cannot hold a stable 60FPS throughout the UI. These Nokia bois are perfectly capable of stable 60FPS UI rendering. Next to fluidity, I focus on performance and battery equally.
What this means for end users is that, You have a smooth, lag-free and fluid experience with balanced performance and battery life across the board.
7. HMP vs EAS? Why EAS?
- They are just different ways via which the Kernel chooses which CPU to use for the different tasks you perform on a daily basis. HMP is almost deprecated at this point and all the new phones releasing with Kernel tag 4.9 and higher come with EAS by default.
EAS is smoother and with proper configuration, more performant and efficient as-well.
8. I want to create a kernel based on Enigma's sources. Where should I start?
- Nice! You could head over to Enigma's Git repository and fork it. I'd advice you to base your work over the STAGING branch as that's the cleanest and the most stable base of Enigma.
I'd consider Enigma's sources stable as on 29-09-2021.
For in-line ROM compiling, other devs have run into issues and as such, I WOULD NOT recommend you to build Enigma in-line. I will not support you in those cases. Standalone compilers however, would have my full support.
9. Donations and what not?
- You don't need to spend more money to bring out more out of your phone. This is a hobby, not a business. Let's keep it that way

Lemme look
Edit - Looked into it, Seems like I will not be able add it via kernel
Hello, do you think you could look into why the minimum brightness in novatek screens, for 7 plus, is so bright?
I tried to mess with it using i2cset but I can't control it because it's being used by the driver

Brightness is usually affected in the vendor side of things. Kernel just hosts the touch drivers to power on the display and recognize touch inputs. I can suggest you to switch back to the stock rom/flash stock vendor if you feel brightness isn't enough.
I do not usually play on the phone but the battery lasts much much longer, in daily use (web browsing and messaging) the performance is perfect it is fluid and energetically very very efficient. your kernel it's great

If it's there, It's probably there for a reason or it's a bug. But seeing the amount of display issues with 7 Plus i don't it's a bug.
Anywho, Lemme see what I can do.
I have some screenshots of the full daily battery usage, I am in the pixel experience with Enigma-WAS 08-02-2020 for nokia 6.1
I hope they serve as a reference for your good work :good:
